Candy, carved pumpkins, ghouls and ghost stories — an excuse to dress like freaks!
I love Halloween… 🙂
I’m stocking up on those huge bags of Snickers mini candy bars from Rite Aid and Safeway. I buy them every year, allegedly for the trick-or-treaters, but chocolate alone can’t satisfy my dark heart this All Hallows Eve. Nope, for that I need MAC’s annual Halloween face charts!
MAC’s artists really push themselves creatively with these looks. I’m building up the courage to try a couple of them myself this year using the instructions on the MAC website.
MAC 2008 for Halloween
- Amphibian: A cool blue water nymph.
- Colour Spill: Abstract color placed against white makeup makes this face like something straight out of a painting.
- Tronika: This robotic look brings out your inner Terminator. Loving this!
- She’s a Doll: A precious doll that would go great with curled hair and bows.
- Midnight Bloom: A pretty, lush floral look.
- Tribal: Reminds me of tribal masks.
- Woody: Whee! A naughty wood sprite!
- Skullmeister: A scary face straight out of MJ’s Thriller video.
- Play the Fool: A playful court jester.
- Space Diva: A creepy alien queen.
Wouldn’t it be cool to wear one of these looks for Halloween? My favorites are Tronica, Midnight Bloom and Woody. That Woody look is hawt!

Karen

I like Amphibian. I did a MAC mask one Halloween and thankfully the MAC website has great instructions on how to achieve all the different looks.

I like the Space Diva, but I’m not sure how the eyes would actually look (not having creepy, solid black eyeballs myself)! 😉

I really wanted to try the doll look, but I don’t have most of the stuff and I can’t be bothered buying them just for a Halloween look, so I’m gonna try doing the alien.

I am actually going to attempt the Skullmeister one on my 11 year old son. I love it!

I like the doll look and I’ll try it with some of the stuff I have.

Hi Marisol,
How cool! What look did you do? Was it hard?
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
I like Space Diva too… I just don’t want her to visit me in the middle of the night with her friends and her space ship (you know, the one with all the scary medical equipment). Yes, I’ve watched one too many sci fi shows.
I was actually thinking the same thing about the eyes. I think if you just used the black eye shape it would probably be enough, but to take it to the next level some black contacts would be cool.

Hi Ellery,
How cool! If you end up taking pictures you’ll have to send me one!
Karen says
Hi Teri,
Very cool! I’m sure he’ll be the hit of his class. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Karen B.,
I was thinking about doing a modified version of that one, too. 🙂

Hi Karen,
I quite like Midnight Bloom (and only because of the eyes, it would look smashing on its own without anything else!) but nobody does anything for Halloween in France. To tell the truth, I was at a restaurant the other night and the waiter thought a pumpkin was called Halloween in English (it was the soup of the day).

I like Woody as I can freestyle the look 🙂 Amphibian is another choice of mine. And LOL at Space Diva, I think V. Becks will look really good in that look.

Hi Karen,
I really dig Woody. I’m actually thinking of rockin that look for a friend’s reception on Saturday. If I get a few branches to stick in my hair I think it’ll be totally hot lol.
Karen says
Hi Sylvie,
That’s so cute… “Halloween Soup.” Did you order it? I bet it was good. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Dao,
LOL, SO TRUE! She really would rock that hard.
Woody looks so fantastic, but very hard! I applaud you for trying it out… I dunno if I could pull it off. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Tami,
You should do it! Don’t forget to stick some leaves up in there, too! 😉
