MAC Bronze Eye Shadow

MAC Bronze Eye Shadow

So, weird fun fact, but if you look really closely at my dark brown eyes, you’ll see a navy blue ring around the iris, and I think it’s one of the reasons I like MAC Bronze Eye Shadow so much.

A shimmery golden bronze with orange undertones, it’s one of those shadows that really flatters blue eyes (even, if I do say so myself, ones with a subtle blue ring like mine).

Bronze has some great things for it, like MAC’s super soft, pigmented Veluxe Pearl finish, arguably one of the best finishes in the entire line. And it blends easy like Sunday morning, so it’s a cinch to apply. In fact, I’ve done it half awake on Sunday mornings many times, and it usually turns out pretty fly!

It’s just one of those shadows, ya know? You almost can’t go wrong.

On skin tones my shade and darker (NC42), I think of Bronze as an excellent everyday neutral. I pat some on my lids, sweep an orangey brown satin or matte like Texture or Soft Brown in my crease, and do either a black or purple liner.

To put it another way, when I want something with more oomph than golden brown Soba, I’ll grab Bronze instead.

And its powers are even more pronounced on lighter skin tones. If you’re a lighter lass with blue eyes, Bronze does WERK!

It’s gotta be the orange. It does something to blue eyes that makes ’em pop.

If you haven’t already, try Bronze one of these days with your favorite brown, gold, green, copper, purple or black eyeshadows. It should look great with all of those colors.

Bronze is part of MAC’s permanent collection, and you can find it now at MAC stores, counters and online. The pro refill pan pictured up top runs $12, while the regular single is $15.

Re MAC Bronze. Yep, it’s the orange that makes blue eyes pop. Orange is the complement to blue on the color wheel–as I was told by a makeup artist once as I resisted her insistence that a brown-orange-rust color was THE COLOR for my blue eyes. She was right.

Maybe I gotta give this another chance. I bought bronze and Im also nc42, but i just didnt like the color payoff. It is a boring eyeshadow with no umph to me… But the lady at the counter said this looks better with a brown base …

Oh what I wouldn’t give for your beautiful coloring as I am pale mom unless I am rocking a self tanner which bumps me up considerably. Given that I am also light blonde, I’ve been searching your MAC reviews for two or three great colors that would
Be my HG for every day wear. As a stay home mom, I run errands with my daughter and have folks drop by often during the day (as if my 4 year old and hubby recovering from massive brain injury isn’t enough to keep me busy 🙂 I digress! Lol could u recommend a post u had previously or three great mAC colors for my coloring? Again loving your blog so very much that I’ve forwarded links to my sisters and friends! All beauty lovers too!

I find bronzes look nice with green eyes too, especially if there’s a bit of gold in them.
