MACaholics, just a quick heads up. If you missed Black Knight Lipstick from 2009’s Style Black collection, this Friday, November 25 (aka Black Friday for shoppers here in the US), MAC’s bringing the s*xy back for one day only on maccosmetics.com.
Creamy, dramatic Black Knight (here’s a swatch) probably isn’t something I’d wear to pick up gravy for Tabs at Petco, but ya know…I might reach for it when I’m feeling particularly sassy. It’s got an edge and a style to it that’s sure to stand out in a crowd.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. One more thing: the new Gareth Pugh for MAC collection is available now online. Happy shopping!

Why would any body want to wear a black lipstick, except Halloween parties!
Karen says
If you work in a creative field it could be very cool. When the promos first came out for Style Black I remember thinking that the look was very striking… I can’t really rock it, but more power to the girls/guys who can!
Eesha says
Yeah more power to who can rock black lips! 🙂
Karen says
I know! I love people who have the edge, style and panache to pull it off. They make the world a more beautiful place. 🙂

im so torn about the Gareth Pugh collection. i love the packaging but am bummed that i get less product for more money in some of the items. 🙂
im imagining black night all over the lips w/ something purple on top… yum!
Karen says
Oh yeah! How about purple glitter? That would be crazy high maintenance… and crazy awesome.
Nina says
purple glitter would totally work! 🙂
Gina says
Oooh! Black Knight with Funtabulous dazzleglass on top! Now THAT would be hot!
Karen says
YES! Of course you’d have to be wearing leather pants and these shoes by Sam Edelman: Sam Edelman heels!
Nina says
really hot!!! an all black outfit, strong liner and brows, contoured, flawless face and youre good to go!

That black lipstick certainly isn’t for me to wear on a daily basis – I WISH I could rock it! Realistically I could only see myself wearing it on Hallowe’en, so I can’t justify the splurge. But, sigh, every time I do see someone wearing black lipstick on a regular day, I’m always really impressed. That takes guts!

I’m SO tempted to get Black Knight.. I’m a little afraid I won’t ever wear it though :/ Feel like I will chicken out everytime I decide to!
Jen in VA says
Maybe not black but I love me a deep, true burgundy almost black creme on some women with great teeth and bone structure…looks awesome.

When this colour first came out, my cousin purchased it. I remember thinking she was crazy, but paired with a big faux-hawk and lots of leather? It looks amazing! I truly admire those who can pull off these quirky trends and make them look fabulous. This is what I love about fashion and beauty – it is limitless! You can take something that is typically considered not-beautiful or not the norm and make it into something great. I love the colour and what you can possibly do with it, but I don’t think I would ever be able to pull it off! More power to those who can!

I do not think that I could ever pull off black lipstick. I am still trying to work my way up to Dubonnet , (red) from MAC. I would love to see a swatch of the Black Knight color and a picture of someone who could pull it off!!

I can’t wait to buy this! I’m not goth or punk or anything. I just want to use it to darken up some of my spring/summer lipsticks for fall and winter. The cheap ones (like WnW) are too waxy and don’t blend well.
Saffron says
I love it! I’d pull it off if I still had my giant black eyeglass frames (I have learned that you can pull off any lipstick sufficiently close in color to your glasses) – but for now I have to stick my weird to crazy burgundy and hot pink. 🙂

If only they repromoted the whole style black collection 🙁 I really liked their volcanic ash exfoliator and mask
