Shout-out to my fellow Bay Area gal pal Kelly (Say hi to her in the comments!) for the 4-1-1 on this awesome base combination. She said it was the BEST combo for skin-like results and said that it had just enough coverage for her to be able to skip concealer.
She. Was. Right! I wholeheartedly agree. I started wearing it last weekend, and I don’t plan to stop.
I’m wearing a mix of Face and Body in C4 and C5 in these pics with a dollop of the new Light Pearl from Mirage Noir. And I set it with Mineralize Foundation/Loose in Medium Dark.
I took these pics eight hours after applying, BTW, not counting a quick touch-up around mid-day, and this stuff was still going strong!
Try it sometime. I think you’ll ? it.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Happy hump day!
Kim says
Very nice results! And you get to trim down your routine by dropping the concealer. Win! 🙂
Kelly says
Haha! You tried it!!! Thanks for the shout out! Really it was the awesome MUA at MAC Valley Fair. He gave me the thumbs up to put it over F&B! I am still loving it and glad that you like it too! Totally streamlines my mornings now that I don’t have to battle with concealer.
Karen says
Ahh, I wish I knew his name so I could follow him on social media and give him a shout out! It’s a genius paring. Thanks again for the heads up.

I have super combo skin (which JUST happened in my late twenties). Can this hold up on top of some oil? It looks fantastic though!
Karen says
Hi Jade,
It might as Face and Body will withstand everything. Thing is the finish is very dewy — are you cool with that?
Jade says
Yes! And I’m down for anything that looks like skin and is comfortable to wear! I was using MUFE Mat velvet but am not loving the feel of it lately. I tried a sample of Hourglass liquid powder perfect illusion and am trying to justify the $56 for that…..
Karen says
OK. If dewy is your thing then I’d give this a go, but keep in mind it *will* be on the shinier side (but not glittery), and that’s purposeful. You could always mix in a little bit of your MUFE Mat Velvet into Face and Body for a matte finish, as it mixes well with other things.
Ya know, I tired that Hourglass foundation and wasn’t crazy about it! I’ve been dying to try their skin tint (love their stick foundation, btw).
Jade says
Thank you, that’s a great tip! I’ve also been using Philosophy renewed hope in a jar skin tint, and it is so fun to use because of the texture but now I want to try face and body!
Karen says
I saw that recently and have been wondering about it. Do you like it?
LindaLibraLoca says
8 hours after applying? Wow, it still looks fresh.
Karen says
Yeah, it’s a great combo! And I was sweated quite a bit yesterday, too.
Tatiana says
I’m falling in love with Face & Body. It beats some of the more expensive foundations out there and it’s not overly perfumey either. I find if I let it dry it layers nicely, too.
Karen says
It is SO GOOD. And it’s even more amazing when you really start playing with it. Try a drop or two of your fave concealer and it’s MAGIC. Or layer it on top of a face primer. SO GOOD!
Amy says
Do you prefer this to Face and Body with MSF Natural?
Karen says
Hi Amy,
I like them both equally the same. The look is just a smidge different (slightly more coverage with the Mineralize/Loose because it’s loose and tends to cover more), but probably not noticeable unless you’re really looking closely.
Johanna says
Looks amazing! What did you use to apply?
Karen says
Hi Johanna,
I use either fingers, a BeautyBlender or a dense, flat synthetic synthetic brush to apply Face & Body. It has a very specific application process, which isn’t harder than usual, but I find that have to do it a certain way for the best results. For the Loose foundation I use a powder face brush with a small brush head so I can really control the amount of powder that gets on my face. Let me know if you have any other questions! Happy to help.

Hello Karen,
many thanks for your great review! I have tried yesterday the Mac Face and Body Foundation in N3, and setted it with the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder (pressed). It it sooo lovely <3! This will be my foundation for the summer-months, just my skin but better. Many thanks!!!
Nice greetings from Austria, Stephanie
Karen says
Hi Stephanie,
Greetings from the San Francisco Bay Area! I’m so glad you like this combo as it’s one of my faves. Did you end up using a primer, or just the foundation and powder?
Have a great day!
Stephanie says
Hi Karen, I do not use a primer, beccause I use a serum and a sunsreen, before I apply the foundation. A primer would than give me the feeling to wear too much.
Thanks you – have a great day too! Sunny greetings.
