Because a single list of 10 items was nowhere near long enough to fully convey my unbridled MAC passion, here are 10 MORE things I love about MAC.
1. Brun Eye Shadow
I’ve worn Brun in one form or another virtually every single day for the past 10 years.
A dark, satiny blackish brown may sound kind of boring and lame, but this one’s pure genius because 1) it’s dark, but it doesn’t look harsh or stark on the skin, and 2) it’s so versatile!
Seriously, I use it for almost errrthing. I use it as a brow filler (it’s a great all-purpose filler for brunettes because it’s neutral and not overly warm or red), as a liner when I’m pressed for time and lack the dexterity to be precise with pencils, gels or liquids; or as a dark brown to deepen the outer corners in neutral looks.
Oh! — and you can do the quickest smokey eye ever by just buffing Brun on top of MAC Smolder.
Brun might look like a basic brown, but it’s millions of miles from boring.
2. Powersurge, Teddy and Costa Riche
Otherwise known as the ultimate eyeliner trifecta. These are my go-to shades from the MAC Eye Kohl line, and I always have at least one of them with me in my purse, unless I’m on a trip and gotta have all three, or risk having a meltdown, LOL! Sounds silly, but it’s true. 🙂
MAC has a ton of beautiful eyeliners, but these are the ones I have backups of backups of at all times.
Deep bronzy gold Powersurge looks epic on lower lash lines, where it adds a little something-something without making my eyes look smaller.
Costa Riche and Teddy are two of the most beautiful brown liners on the planet. Costa Riche is a warm matte reddish brown (I wear it smudged along my lower lash lines all the time), and Teddy is a rich, bronzy reddish brown.
Both of them look amaze-balls with brown, hazel, grey, blue or green eyes.
3. The Archie’s Girls Collection
That one time Tabs and I got cartoonified by Archie cartoonist Dan Parent for the Archie’s Girls collection…
4. Turquatic
Turquatic is a light, refreshing fragrance that everyone I run into and hug seems to love.
Er…now that I think about it, I’m not sure if I’ve ever actually finished a bottle of it because I’m always giving them away!
The last time was with my mom-in-law, when she hugged me and said, “I love that scent you’re wearing!” so I gave it to her right there on the spot.
Official fragrance notes include anemone, lotus, orris and Corsican blue cedar. Unofficial fragrance notes include summer crushes and stolen kisses. 🙂
5. Wonder Woman
Such a fun collection! Also, I will gladly take any excuse to dress up as a superhero and wander around the neighborhood.
6. Club Eye Shadow
A MAC classic, and one of the first I fell in love with. Club is like a peacock feather in a pan — gray, brown, blue, teal, green…
SO MANY LINES have riffed on this color, but Club will always be the original to me.
7. Back to MAC
Note to self: don’t forget to turn in all of those Fix+ empties to get a new lipstick. MAC’s recycling program is one of my favorite things about the brand.
8. Face & Body
If I were forced to choose just one face product to wear from MAC, I’d choose MAC Face & Body. I wear it all the time, especially in summer.
A flexible foundation you can build up or sheer out, once it sets, it doesn’t freaking move for nothin’. I’ve heard that makeup artists use it a lot for movies and TV. Fancy!
9. Impassioned Lipstick
Bright pink fabulousness! I wear Impassioned whenever I need a jolt of confidence.
10. Warm Soul Mineralize Blush
Warm Soul is a fresh, natural-looking peachy blush with subtle golden shimmer, and I could seriously wear it daily.
Actually, I went through a six-month phase when I did, LOL! I think it looks great on just about everyone and brings a lot of life to the face.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty MAC addict,
Karen

The pleas for Face and Body to be included worked!! 😉
I have seen many a blogger rave about warm soul, so it seems that I shall have to check it out on my next visit to the store!

Now I need MAC Face and Body and Brun! I liked this list! <3

It’s so good. A summertime must, especially if you live somewhere hot/humid. It looks fabulous with MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder, by the way. Do you have that?
kwmechelle says
I’d love to see Club in action. The color intrigues me. I got MAC Cyber from back to MAC & I’m close to having enough empties for round “too many times later to count!”
Karen says
I think you’d love it, especially over a black base (do you have Blackground?). There’s a swatch in the Unsung Heroes post, but it looks so much more gorgeous in real life! It’s one of those colors for which the pictures never quite do justice.
kwmechelle says
I don’t have Blackground but from the pics of it, it looks ĺike I might need it!
Karen says
It’s really pretty and super useful, especially if you do a lot of smokey eyes. It’s gorgeous with a matte brown blended on top!
Erin says
I love Turquatic too!

There’s like a million reasons to love MAC lol. I need to get my hands on those brown liners and Face and Body. I’ve been dying to try that foundation forever
nai says
totally agree with this post, and i actually have to blame both you and one of my bridesmaids for my burgeoning MAC collex.
side note: Karen, did you hear? Jeremy Renner is getting a divorce. while i’m never glad to hear a love story is ending poorly, perhaps we can be forgiven if our hearts do a little pitter patter at this news?
Karen says
Hey Nai!
What’s in your MAC top 10? Would love to see your list!
OMG! JRenn’s divorce. I had absolutely no idea. I wonder if he’s going home to Modesto to recover… I should drive to his mom’s house to offer “comfort.”
nai says
my MAC top 10 is really not all that different from yours, but I would add Mega Metal e/s in Tweet Me, the now discontinued Strada blush (for contouring), the also discontinued e/s in Kid (crease) and Select Sheer Powder. i guess that would make it a top twenty-four. but you know as well as i do it could be a top fifty.
if you do go to Modesto, please give Mr. Renner some um…”warm aloha” from me. =D

Mac is seriously the best. Face&Body was one of my best discoveries of this year! Now I want Warm Soul too!
Kieu says
I LOVE LOVE LOVE MAC!! I hope one day my MAC collection will be as big/great as yours xx
Xuvious says
Face & Body is amazing! I really like Expensive Pink and Woodwinked. 🙂
brenda says
Karen, I love your list! I used to wear Brun on my eyebrows, but i switched it for a more blonde brow powder…and I really hate I cannot return empty MAC packages here in Holland… Have you heard of the new English brand Make Up Revolution? You really should try it, they ship internationally and they make dupes of famous make up items, like the UD Naked palettes, Too Faced heart blushes, and much more! It is soooo cheap, and the pigmentation is amazing!

So many great things, and some I didn’t think of getting myself. Need to change that asap.
Club is a great eyeshadow, I “inherited” it from a friend who tried it once and literally looked like she had a black eye.
mzcrafty1908 says
Awesome list! I wasn’t aware that you could return Fix+ bottles. For some reason, the website doesn’t list that as an option.
krithi says
after this post i will be buying Teddy for sure 😉
Bee says
you got me hooked to Warm soul too. heheheh
happy new year to you and tabs…. and ur hubs too 😀
Tatiana says
I’m so glad you posted another 10 reasons to love MAC. Teddy was one of the first liners I ever bought from MAC. Prunella was the second.
Ok, so I’m a dummy. I thought the recycling program was just for the empty lipstick containers. I never realized that I could also recycle empty skincare containers. All those empty Cleanse Off Oil containers I just put in my household recycling bin! Doh! Slaps palm to forehead. Lol. Now I know.

Reading your blog is what got me interested in trying MAC products, and I have to say, I’ve been obsessed ever since my first MSF. 🙂 Some of my favorite MAC products are Fix +, the 224 brush, the Enchanted One lipstick from the Alluring Aquatic collection (I will cry when I finish this lipstick!), and the Extra Dimension Eye Shadows. I haven’t tried the Face and Body foundation yet, but that’s on my list of products to try!
Hilary O says
Omg… I am totally with you on Brun – an absolute fave of mine!!!
lashana says
Thank you for reminding me of the back to Mac. I just went through my garbage for my empty Fix+ to go bottle.
Gloria says
genius idea for the quickest smoky eyes!! I will check those two colors. quick question about lower lash line: every time i put shadows there, it looks dirty, even though i don’t smudge it. any comments?? lol thanks.

Hi Karen, I enjoy reading your blog! I don’t comment but had to on this post! At 47, I’m just getting into makeup, including MAC. I do love the fix plus. Have 2 shadows and 2 paint pots. Know I want the 217 brush and the F&B foundation. Don’t live anywhere close to a counter so have to buy online. I have such a time getting right color in foundation. I have medium skin, wear shade #2 in Este Lauder DW light or Creamy Vanilla in EL Max Cover. What shade would you recommend? Are there any other brushes you would suggest for me as I get my collection together? Seems I need one of those brown/copper liners you mentioned as well. I have green/hazel eyes. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! I do think I’m really loving MAC!
