Oh, gosh… I’ve made many, like picking at pimples (I know, a HUGE no-no), piling on layer upon layer of foundation, concealer and powder… I could go on. Generally, when it comes to me and makeup, the less I wear at any one time, the happier my pores are.
My last big skin care mistake, though, was starting a massively long multi-step process using a bevvy of brand new-to-me products within a short span of three weeks.
Wasn’t a good idea! Breakout City.
How about you? What’s a skin care mistake you’ve made before?

Picking my pimples, skipping sunscreen. overdoing it with exfoliation… All of them, I guess.

Ugh, trying to add Vitamin C to my regimen. Within 2 days my skin started purging hardcore and it took 2 months to get rid of the spots.

Happy Thursday! I’m a terrible picker – I just can’t stand clogged pores. I actually just made a few mistakes this week. I sprayed drugstore sunscreen over my makeup before a walk because that’s all I had with me. I didn’t wash my face until bedtime, so my pores were not clean and clear! I also just switched to a higher dose of retinol and overdid it slightly around my eyes. Same spot as last time. Though, this time, I did take a break right away.

Treating my acne-prone skin as if it were oily, rather than the DRY DESERT THAT IT WAS (and neglecting to exfoliate prior to deep moisturizing)!
Also, using Proactiv. Terrible for my acne-prone skin (who knew?).
Tay says
Omg, ProActiv gave me the worst skin of my life!!

IKR? I know celebrities and other people swore on the stuff but for me, it could have removed engine grease. O_o

Insisting on using a product that is breaking me out because everyone loves it. I just had to accept it wasn’t meant to be.

Several years ago I had to take a medication and didn’t read all the precautions–shame on me! The insert said not to use retinoids while taking it but, of course, I hadn’t read that. I applied my usual retinoid (prescription strength retinoic acid) at night and the next day my face was red and swollen. Yikes! Lesson learned.

My biggest mistake is waiting to long to start a skin care regimen . I used to wash my make up off with soap.
Now I have a 3 step process. Just switched from Lush to Olehenriksen.

Clarisonic although everyone raves about it , I do like it but if I use everyday it gives me breakouts !
How is that possible , hope I’m not the only one on this
Have a good weekend ladies

Hmm, still doing them. I’m a picker-if I don’t get it out, it’ll never go away on its own and as a test I resisted the urge to pop a pimple and left it alone and it actually took three times as long to heal and left a little mark behind. Not impressed. I also don’t do sunscreen because everything makes me break out and I’d just rather not break out than have sun protection.

The biggest mistakes I have made is squeezing pustules (not Papules). When I was a teenager someone told me that the spot would heal quicker when you get rid of the pus. This is a big lie.
It can take about eight weeks from the time a pore gets blocked to the time it erupts on the skin and forms a pimple. Many people don’t know. By the time you are painstakingly applying products designed to shrink a pimple. Half the time it doesn’t work because you are about eight weeks too late. As a beauty therapist, I recommend using a product that contains 10 per cent benzoyl peroxide as their active ingredient. No other element can beat the potent drying, exfoliating and antibacterial.

My biggest mistake was repiercing my nose in the same spot 7 years later. The hospital that employed me as a nurse had a strict “no facial piercings” policy so I let my nose piercing close. When I became a SAHM 7 years later, I decide to get my nose ring back. I should have switched sides because now I have what I think is a keloid growing at the site of my new piercing. SMH!:(

Using lactic acid more and more to try to care of my redness! I stopped using it all together and my redness actually decreased. I think I read too many reviews about how great it was…
