Everyone has that person in their life — you know, the one always impeccably dressed from head to toe.
For me that person’s my ninang (the word for godmother in Tagalog).
She’s never without her makeup, and she always looks hella fierce!
Who’s the most glamorous person you know? Someone in your family, or is it a close friend? Let me know in the comments!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

My grandma <3
She is always dresses in Burberry, Chanel, Faconable, etc, and looks sharp. her style is flawless and classic.
Plus she got me into Chanel makeup! =D

I would love to say that I knew someone glamorous but sadly, I think I might be the most glamorous person I know! None of the women in my family even wear makeup or do their hair. It’s a Berkeley hippie thing. I don’t know WHERE I got my personality from, but it’s not from any of them!

I’d say my friend Jaclyn. The girl takes HOURS to get ready to go to the store or to hang out at someone’s house (say, mine?). She’s always got crazy awesome shoes and outfits, combined with a face fresh full of chanel, mac, and lancome makeup.
Caitlin says
My friend Anna. Even when she’s just hanging out, she looks polished, and she can pull off a full face of makeup or no makeup at all and STILL look fierce. Hella jealous lol. But then again, you always seem to look pretty glam too, Karen!

It has to be my mom! She has impeccable taste in clothing in jewelry. She never leaves the house undone. She has quite an inventory as well! No matter what age, I can never picture her ‘frumping’ it.. My mom is quite the Diva! 😀
Kypris says
One of my closest friends … her hair, her face, everything always looks good even when she’s ‘scrubbed out’! Her clothes are always classy and compared to her, I feel like I’m always SO casually dressed. She doesn’t even need a lot of makeup to look great! At least I’m at university or in the lab most of the time and I hang around people who dress even more casually (helloooooo physics students).
Also, you asked last time what kind of dance – I think I mentioned ballroom before. I do international latin right now, but I can’t wait to get back into international standard as well. 🙂
Anne says
MY GRANDMA!!! Well, not directly… she’s my mom’s aunt and/or my maternal grandpa’s sister. She’s been my role model in dressing other than my mom, she looks more of an aunt grouping up and she’ll never let us call her grandma and insist of being called mama *with a Spanish twing on it*.

I’d have to say the most glamorous person I know (besides myself) is you. My family doesn’t wear a lot of make-up and I’m always sitting on the ready waiting for your next look. Julieg713, pixiwoo and Misschievous are really pretty too and I always look forward to their tutorials on YouTube. They’re all very down to earth.
Most of the girls in my area are perma-tanned from the tanning salon (ew, ew, ew I’d hate to see what they look like at 30), flat iron to the nth degree hair and wear far too much make-up, Croc and Ugg loving (just ew) and not a lot of clothes! Did I mention all those clothes are Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle, Victoria’s Secret’s Pink or designer? Those are people my age and lower! I live in Illinois aka Place of the Schizophrenic Weather. I’m very conservative compared to most of the girls in my area. You won’t see me going out in a micro-micro-mini skirt, flipflops, teeny tiny panties and a tube top in summer! Nu uh, not me. I have some sense of dignity.

Hmmmm…I’m going to say probably my gay guy friend. lol. I know anytime I’m going to go out with him I have to step it up to make sure I’m extra ferosh! 😉
Laura says
My fabulous Filipina Momma, of course. She is approaching 60, but with no wrinkles whatsoever. She has beautiful clothes, some from Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom, some from Goodwill. All the workers at the BCBG stores know her by name, because she stops by once a week. But mostly, she is the hardest working person I have ever known but is still feminine and gorgeous. She shovels snow off the sidewalk in her full length Michael Kors mink coat. She is sometimes unpredictable, but always beautiful.
Elle says
I’m with Amy on this one–definitely one of my closest guy friends who’s also gay. I usually pay attention to my clothes and makeup anyway, but he’s always rockin’ the really nice French-cuffed shirts, just-distressed-enough jeans…everything is perfection, even when it’s a disheveled perfection. He always looks hot.
Sejal says
Definitely my aunt. She lives in India and I’ve realized they are way trendier there than they are in the states. She always knows what is latest and greatest, and she is dressed to the nines. She is always wearing flawless makeup, has her hair done is some fashionable manner, and is put together no matter what. When she comes to the states and we go out together, I feel older than her because she is always trendier than I ever will be!

Well….er, I’d like to say it was my mother, but her daily outfit is yoga pants and a stretchy t-shirt (and I hate to say it but she can’t really pull it off like those fit young people who seem to look glamourous *all* the time). Although she does wear makeup, and she sparked my interest in MAC (that’s what she uses most often), she still discourages my makeup obsession. I don’t know…she’s just not too glamourous. So my glamourous person would have to be Laura a.k.a. Lollipop26. I know, I know, I don’t actually know her personally, but she’s like my idol of glam. She always looks fab and has the cutest clothing, and I really love her style. So anyways, thanks Karen for the blog post, and I really love your blog, because there’s like a new entry every couple of hours or so, and it really helps curb my boredom, because school is finally out! 😀

being a competitive dancer…
it’s hard to beat my flaming/camp dance teacher. he doesn’t think twice about shelling out $500 for a jeweled dance shirt or dance shoes. he’s also immaculately tanned and groomed at all times, lol XD
YadiQ says
lol this is an interesting question – i am in the same boat as vampy varnish
i dont know anyone glamourous. i guess its just the way it is lol if i had to choose someone it would be my off the wall sister who always tries to be different but in a very NYC chic manner. she loves what i consider strange shoes and accessories and manages to always look together – hair always nice and in place, eyebrows always hooked up… She’s always been disappointed in me being the older sister who is an “artist” that i should have been the one with off the wall style – can i say my closet is super boring and basic lol i did however put her on to makeup and taught her how to do dramatic eyes that can be worn to work.
Didi says
My auntie and my grandma! Every hair on their head is groomed perfectly, they never leave the house without putting on their face and their clothes are always classically fashionable! I had loads of fun playing dress up in their closets growing up 🙂 My grandma even let me and my cousins put on her good jewelry and use her makeup.

I agree with some ladies who commented above about the family. I don’t have glamorous women in my family.I mean most never use makeup. So it’s strange that I like it so much:)
I guess most glamorous person is my friend who is makeup artist and always looks fabulous!

Definitely my friend Nicole. She’s always impeccable from head to toe, Chanel, Burberry, A|X, Diesel, and barely has to touch her face or hair to look flawless… She’s a model so I guess it comes with the territory!
cloudburst says
My family ain’t a glamorous bunch, neither are my friends…so I guess the answer is me! LOL, but I’m not very glamorous unledd I’m going out for a night on the town. I know – my friends sister who is a MA at MAC, she lookd flawless everytime I see her.
Melia says
The most glamorous person I know must be my cousin Tina. She’s the one who did my first make-over when I was 14. She studied in Italy and whenever I saw her, she was always dressed to kill, drop-dead gorgeous and had a “presence”. She still is one of the most beautifully dressed people I know.
redhead says
I might be the most glamorous one in my family – my mom can be dressy when she wants to be, but not all the time. Other than that, most of the women in my family are fairly dowdy, frankly! As far as friends go, this one girl at school is ALWAYS wearing her signature smokey navy blue eye, matte nude lips, and Forever 21 clothes with her hair straightened. She’s pretty glam!
Camellia says
The most glamorous person I know is my aunt. She’s always wearing makeup, always changing or fixing her hair, and always carrying an expensive bag such as louis vuitton -______-” sometimes I get jealous!
Alaina says
There is a girl in my school named Corinne (what a fashionable name!). She is always dressed in the snazziest clothes and she always looks simply fabulous. I am jealous, aha.
Solé says
Definitely my younger sister Cindy! Girl is always dressed to the nines! Long, flat-ironed, perfect hair, impeccable makeup, and she wears some fancy Tom Ford shades she ordered from Italy because they weren’t available in the states yet. The funny thing is that she was kind of a tomboy when we were growing up and I was the one who got us into makeup (I’ve been obsessed with it since I was like 10.
My friends think I’m glamorous because I always have my makeup done, but I can’t afford designer clothes and I sport my $10 shades from the kiosk at the mall so I’m sure they would reconsider if they met her. Sometimes I feel like she overdoes it though. Do you really need to get all dolled up to go to the grocery store? Well, maybe… she is single.

Hey Karen!
My boyfriend’s mom is one of the most glamorous people I know… like your godmother she always wears make-up which basically consists of black winged eyeliner, and red lipstick! She always looks GORGEOUS, great skin and all. But most importantly she is one of the nicest people I know, she is so sweet to everybody she meets and in a genuine way so that makes her even more beautiful!
How’s your weekend looking?
Marmar says
My “lola.” She was fabulously glam and died gorgeous with her Louis Vuitton, Burberry and Coach still around her. To me, no one will ever be as glam as her.

my mum. i used to watch her put makeup on in awe. when i have free time and catch her in the mornings, i’ll still watch her wing that eyeliner at the ends in wonder.

my deceased maternal grandma and passed down to my mum! 😀
my grandma used to be always dressed to the nines everywhere — at home, the market, the mall and especially dates with her husband (grandma and grandpa still go on movie and travel dates in their 70s :D)! 😛
luckily, my mom got that Grace-Kelly-ish glamour (not even her dowdy sisters) and she taught me to always carry grace and poise no matter where we are.. she isn’t attracted to big brands and yet, she still is the epitome of class and grace.. she introduced me to the world of makeup and the less-is-more philosophy and the MUAs in our local Dior and Estee Lauder counters are her best friends! 😀 i grew up mostly wearing tailored clothes (seriously, i don’t know why haha) and as a little girl, i was always wearing ribbons, tights and ballerina flats.. now that im in college, i sport a more casual Serena-style (Blair Waldorf, gone! lol) but im hoping that i get my mom and grandma’s effortless and timeless style.. :]

The most glamorous person I know… no one. But I did had a collegue on my Uni years, she was always dressed in Chanel, complete makeup (maybe Chanel too?), and the rest of us nicknamed her “Chanel”. I never spoke to her because we were just two different type of people. But I remember her well :o)
Wendy says
I have to say the most glamorous person I know is my friend Giovanna shes a former model and even if its just a lazy Sunday girls got perfect looking hair and effortless natural looking makeup I guess it doesn’t hurt that shes friends with all her former runway makeup artists the good thing is that she pays it forward with the beauty tips.
Rani says
I would have to say my Mom..she isn’t into much makeup, but she always looks flawless and put together. She is the epitomy of a natural beauty. Also Karen, I love the pic of Tabs!!

I do not personally know too many glamorous people other than myself. hahahahaha!!!!! Seriously. Maybe it’s a ‘burgh thing where people here are down to earth, real, and gritty without having time to prance and dance and care about beauty. But I, on the other hand, am a gay man trapped in woman’s body as Dear Hubby says- with all of my fussing about my appearance and my daily dramas. I think that I would like to know glamorous women so that I can study them and learn from then. I like to see other women make themselves look good and I don’t really see it as a competitive thing. I especially enjoy seeing an older woman 60+ who still has it going. Do you think that there will be makeup and perfume on the other side for after we die??? Otherwise maybe we shouldn’t go there. LOL!!!! Louise

My little sisters are the most glam people I know. They’re 8 and 3 and they are always so cute and dressed up. They never look frumpy! Always just adorable and cute.
