What Was the Last Skincare Product You Finished All the Way Down to the Last Drop?

Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel

Amore Pacific’s Treatment Enzyme Peel

Hmm…Good question. It was this lovely bottle of Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel (lens flare added for dramatic effect).

It’s the gentle exfoliating face wash ($60, unfortunately) I’ve been using in the mornings off and on for about a year, alternating it with Neutrogena’s much less expensive All-in-1 Acne Control Daily Scrub, and I really like them together as a combo.

I finished my bottle of the peel a couple weeks ago, and I think my skin misses it…

I first found out about it from one of the gals at Sephora who recommended it to help with my chin acne, which was acting up at the time. She said it was something that many of her clients with problem skin raved about, so I picked up a bottle right then and there.

From the get-go, I loved it. Loved the floral scent, loved the way it didn’t leave my skin feeling scratchy or tight after I washed with it in the morning, but didn’t really love the price. Because it was also pretty expensive, I almost gave up on it.

My skin slowly improved over the next few months using this with Neutrogena’s All-in-1 scrub, Kate Somerville’s Anti Bac Clearing Lotion, Skinceuticals C E Ferulic and Sunday Riley Good Gene Treatment. I’d also made some adjustments to my diet, which I think helped.

But this — this is my favorite gentle exfoliating face wash.

Note to self: restock this bad boy, ASAP!

How about you? What’s the last skincare product you finished all the way down to the last drop?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Good morning and happy Friday from the employees of Makeup and Beauty Blog! :)

Now…I have a very important question for you.

Tabs would like to me ask if you would be his Valentine. In his words, “Mrow?”

Please say yes!

An Omorovicza moisturizer! Pricey stuff, but it’s good.

Of course, Tabs! I’ll be your Valentines! Love Tabs!

  2. Casey says:

The last skincare item I used up was a little tube of CVS brand benzoyl peroxide! Not glamorous, I know ;) But I have really stubborn chin acne and this product keeps my skin completely clear. And you can’t beat that $5 price tag!

Happy Valentines Day to you and Tabs! Does lip balm count as skin care? Lol I’ve finished a few of those. I came close to finishing my Body Shop Soothing Aloe cream but once I got to the last bit I fell in love with another moisturizer lol. It’s like a never ending cycle of hoarding over here!

Neutrogena naturals facewash and st ives apricot scrub. I go though them every couple months. I hate a cluttered shower, so i won’t buy a new wash or scrub until my current bottle is totally gone.

I just finished a jar of L’occitane Divine cream this morning. Makes me sad to have to go spend another $100 this weekend!

Supergoop! Save Face SPF 35+ Oil-free A.m. moisturizer (3 oz). I’ve been using this moisturizer non-stop for about a year now and gone through 3 or bottles. The awesome packaging design lets me get every last drop out. It’s my favorite moisturizer with spf.

The Neutrogena All-in-One Acne Control Treatment. I tend to get stubborn dark spots from past blemishes, and this stuff clears them up while keeping me from breaking out. Love it!

The Body Shop Cool and Creamy Tea Tree Wash. I even cut open the tube. Keeps my skin clean but doesn’t dry it out.

I’ve used up Bath and Body Works lotions before, Victoria’s Secret lotions, and as far as face stuff goes I have used up CVS benzoyl peroxide, CVS salicyclic acid, CVS retinol, and Clean and Clear Morning Burst face wash. I’m not a huge fan of clutter and as I’ve gotten older I’ve tended to buy more of what I actually needed rather than wanted/what I think would work because of pretty packaging and claims. Happy Valentine’s Day to you, your hubby, and Tabs!

  15. Maria J. says:

I used my Michael Todd True Organics Blue Green Algae Toner, Antioxidant Carrot Serum, Knu Serum & Knu Anti-Aging Face Cream good all the way to the last drop. I am almost done with the Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Gel Cleanser and the Organic Intensive Eye Cream. I already have back ups of the things I love and truly do work for me.

Not exactly “to the last drop” but I swear by Nip+Fab glycolic pads. I bought them at my beloved Target on a whim (target is my Achilles heel). I have mild roseacea, super fair, sensitive oily skin that breaks out maybe twice a month. But *knocks on wood*…. I haven’t had a breakout in over a month and a half since I started using them. And I changed nothing else about my skincare routine. It’s blowing my mind. I guess I needed to give up harsh scrubs and go a different route with exfoliation. Now I buy them 2 or 3 containers at a time, esp if they’re on sale lol

  18. Tara says:

La Prairie Caviar eye serum. I won a giveaway, now I have to save up to replace it, but it was wonderful while it lasted.

  19. Tiffany says:

Neova night cream…..it helped with my facial redness.

  20. BETSY C. says:

Oh Tabs,I Mrow? you too! You are my favorite Belly Meat boy! :-)

The last thing I shook until NO drops were left? Ole Henriksen’s Truth Serum Collagen Booster. Works wonderfully and has an orange scent. What’s not to like?!

  21. Jade says:

I just finished a trial supply of Clinique Acne Solutions. It lasted me 2 1/2 months and it did wonders for my skin! I also have the stubborn chin acne but except for one pesky pimple there, my face is clear. For the first time in maybe a decade (wow lol). I think the combo of salicylic acid & benzoyl peroxide did it. I already have a brand new bottle of Clarifying Lotion & Clearing Treatment waiting in my bathroom =) I’ve been using with the MIA & Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple – definitely being replaced before the last drop, too

  22. Jade says:

Tabs how can anyone resist such a gorgeous big squeezy Valentine!

  23. Ava says:

Clean and Clear Oil Free Gel Moisturizer! I love it so much, and I need more now! :)

  24. NeenaJ says:

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Repairing Balm. I cut the end off the tube and dig out the last drop! It’s the only face moisturizer I have ever “hit the pan” on multiple times and continue to replace.

  25. Miki says:

    Yes!!

Interesting … thanks for the post!! I get chin acne too, blech. I am going to grab some of this!! (When money is more forthcoming haha).

  26. Miki says:

OH, my end of the bottle to the last dang drop, is Neutrogena Retinol night cream for tone, and Ole Henriksen Perfect Truth CC Crème – stuff is da bomb!! (Though in winter I actually like to use my Marcelle tinted moisturizing cream, it’s not even a BB but it’s better than them all. Almost time for a new bottle!)

  27. Camille says:

That is the sweetest photo of you and tabs!!! <3

Hmmm….I can't recall the last skincare product I finished. I guess it would be a free full sized sample of Biore Acne Clearing Scrub I received from a magazine. I liked it, but wasn't in love with it. I liked the citrus smell and small gentle scrubbers in it. (wasn't too harsh). I might buy it if I need another acne clearing scrub. I want to finish the 20 million bottles I have before I buy anything else.

    Happy Friday!!!

  31. Fran says:

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer (I wear this under makeup in the AM). I also regularly use up and replace FAB Ultra Repair Cream (I wear this at night and share it with my son), FAB Daily Face Cream (my summer AM moisturizer), FAB Face Cleanser, Burt’s Bees Acne Solutions clarifying toner (a mild salicylic acid preparation for keeping both zits and flakes at bay), Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water and coconut oil from the Target grocery section for removing makeup, and both Tarte and Too Faced BB creams (love the SPF from zinc oxide and titanium dioxide). My son and I also share the Target store brand 10% benzoyl peroxide preparation. Hand creams? CeraVe, CeraVe Renewing SA, Curel Daily Moisture, little tubes of Gold Bond Ultimate or Udderly Smooth for my purse. Gotta have hand cream in every room and every bag in the winter, or my skin literally cracks open.

I recently finished a bottle of Aveda’s Beautifying Complex, and already had a new one waiting because I can’t live without this stuff anymore! I mix a few drops into my daily moisturizer, and also body lotion, and my skin has been soooo much happier with it. Plus it smells amazing!

I’ve got an almost full bottle of the Amore Enzyme Peel, I need to get busy using it!

The last full sized skincare item I used up was my DHC cleansing oil. Love that stuff.

  38. TwirlyGirly says:

Garnier Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam. I discovered it about a year and a half ago, and I love the way it removes every last trace of makeup – even the waterproof & long wearing stuff. It’s so good, I even use it to clean my foundation brush. It never leaves my combination skin (oily forehead/normal cheeks in summer, normal forehead/dry cheeks in winter) feeling dry and taut.

After using up my third tube several months ago, I tried to buy another and couldn’t find it anywhere. It was then I realized Garnier was discontinuing most of its skincare line in favor of some new products. Luckily I was able to find it at Ulta.com (at only 3.99/tube!) and ordered three tubes, so I’m all set for about a year or so. What I’m going to do after that I don’t know. It’s hard to find a cleanser that not only works really well, but also doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

CeraVe hydrating cleanser. Love this stuff and have been using it steadily for a few years. Doesn’t dry me out or break me out – hits that sweet spot in the middle.

  44. Chelsea says:

    There have been a couple!

Skinceuticals SPF 50+ Physical Fusion sunscreen – this stuff was great, but pricey. I’m using a Neutrogena sunscreen right now that I’m hoping will be a decent replacement (Pure & Free liquid), but I have a big blemish on my forehead right now, so I’m hoping that’s not it.

Silk Naturals 2% BHA Toner – I like this stuff a lot, have finished two bottles of it, and am on my third.

I recently finished a sample of Silk Naturals Green Tea and Aloe Hydrating Serum – I ordered the full-size, it’s quite nice.

First Aid Beauty Cleanser – It was good, but a little too dehydrating for me.

I’m on the last dregs of my Hada Labo Tokyo foaming cleanser, but I already purchased a second one…

  45. Cindy says:

Tarte’s Maracuja Oil- absolutely fantastic!! I used it overnight to brighten and plump & that’s exactly what it did. I also always finish my Avon Clinical Peels- I swear I love that stuff <3

Origins Clear Improvement mask! It’s my new beloved, I’ve gone through two tubes and I don’t see myself stopping soon.

Boscia clarifying cleanser. I ran out and went without for a few weeks and swore I would never go without it again. It’s amazing, it takes all my makeup off without stripping my skin.

Tabs, I will be your Valentine! Too bad you can’t come over for a play date with my cats…meoooww.

  49. Bagaela says:

Bioderma Sensibio H2o cleanser. The best gentle cleanser so far!

  50. Maggie says:

Body and skincare are things I try to use up–especially if it’s non-fragranced.

For Face, I have used up and repurchased:
    -Glycolix Elite Ultra Lite Cream
    -Topix Replenix CF Cream
    -Cerave Hydrating Cleanser
    -Cerave AM

    For Hands:
-Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin (use to wash my hands)
    -C.O. Bigelow Chapped Hands Remedy

    For Body:
    -Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream
-Neosporin Eczema Essentials Cream (just a bit heavier than Aveeno)
    -Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream
    -Aveeno Men’s Shave Gel

  51. Sylirael says:

In a strictly chronological sense, it’d probably be a little pot of Lancome’s Genifique moisturiser, which was lovely (but not, per se, lovelier than any other moisturiser).

In terms of a full size product that I actually bought (not a GWP), it’d be my Michael Todd Tropical Fruit scrub. I just finished it!

My savior for this harsh canadian winter : Caudalie Quenching Serum! It’s 40$, but I’m buying it again for sure! It saved my face!!

  54. Hmm…loving the sound of this Amore Pacific cleanser as I too have had crazy chacne (chin acne) lately and nothing I’ve used, including the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K treatment. D: The last skincare product I used up to the last drop was the Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Cottonseed. My skin LOVED it. My chacne was gone while I was using it. I went back to a cheaper cleanser afterwards and my skin got really dry. The Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser says it’s a “Non-drying, creamy cleanser removes impurities, make-up and excess oil while respecting skin’s natural moisture balance.” and that perfectly summarizes what it did for me!

  55. Kaelyn says:

I use Mary Kay skincare almost exclusively because it works so well for me, so I usually go through a couple tubes of the moisturizer and cleanser for normal/dry skin in a year.

Of course I will be Tabs’s belated Valentine! All kitties are my Valentine on Valentine’s Day :D
