Afternoon, girls. Today’s giveaway ironically comes at a time in my life when I’m almost happy with my skin.

Like millions of young men and women, I went through some rough years with terrible acne back in my late teens and early twenties. I look back at old pictures now and remember some of the mean things people said… Still hurts my feelings to this day.

Coping with acne isn’t easy (I’m here if you need someone to talk to), but today there are options that didn’t exist even 10 or 15 years ago, options like the TRIA Skin Clarifying System.

The prize

One lucky lady (or gent) will win the new TRIA Skin Clarifying System, a three-piece set designed to clear, smooth and brighten acne-prone skin (a $473 value).

What is the TRIA Skin Clarifying System?
Are you familiar with blue light acne therapy? Previously only available with a prescription, it’s used to safely and gently eliminate P. acnes, the bacteria that causes mild to moderate blemishes.

TRIA’s nifty, at-home blue light device (no prescription necessary) is one of the three steps in their acne-clearing system.

  • STEP ONE: Cleanse. TRIA’s creamy Clarifying Foam Cleanser contains AHAs and BHAs to gently clean, exfoliate and prepare skin for blue light therapy
  • STEP TWO: Treat. TRIA recommends five minutes of blue light therapy per day to heal existing breakouts and eliminate the acne bacteria
  • STEP THREE: Nourish. This serum’s blend of anti-oxidants and nutrients accelerates renewal and improves the texture of skin

What can the TRIA Skin Clarifying System do for you?
TRIA says their system works gently over time to eliminate acne while preventing future breakouts. Participants in clinical trials, the company says, saw a significant reduction in breakouts after seven days; smoother, more even-toned skin after 10-14 days; and skin that looked healthier, clearer, brighter and more radiant after eight weeks.

what a fantastic giveaway! I’ve been working my fingers to the bone on a custom set for a mother of the bride. I’m sitting on my hands to avoid finishing the set until I get the go ahead from the customer. Based on approval of the one earring picture I sent her and getting half of the order up front. Then I reserve all rights to bead shop for more supplies to finish her set and go crazy putting it together.

  146. Veronica says:

I never win anything, but here goes nothing in hopes for good skin!

  147. Kim says:

Wow, Karen! This is a super-generous prize! There are so many people who struggle with acne, even as they get older… and sadly so many that will say terrible, hurtful things to them. I’m sorry you still have those bad memories, but you can definitely feel good about having beautiful skin now… the best darn make-up blog in the world! I hope all those mean people are reading it now – and if they’re not, they’re missing out on how great you are, AGAIN! Their loss. 🙂

  148. Suji says:

In my teen years, I had zits from hormones and tons of skin oils (I assume).. now in my twenties I’m still getting zits from clogged pores.. I wonder if it’s because I’m wearing more make-up then when I was younger? Sometimes I workout with makeup on if I go to the gym straight from work.. maybe I should get some cleansing wipes for that. Anyways I’m rambling now, but I wonder how this Tria system would work!

    TGIF, Karen! 🙂

  149. Ada says:

I’m so glad it’s Friday, and I slept in until 6 am. I was getting up at 4 am most of this week and very unhappy!

This weekend I plan to tackle the dreaded task of packing up winter clothing and unpacking clothing for spring and summer. Fortunately I only have to switch out the clothes since I’m fortunate enough to have a separate closet for summer flats and sandals that remains intact throughout the year. I wish everyone a great weekend!

  159. Abby says:

My plans for the weekend are studying for first year university final exams. The stress mixed with skipping sleep (also a raspy cat tongue at 1am cleaning half my forehead) is making my skin flare up something rotten.

I’ve battled acne since 6th grade or so. That is nearly 20 years ago for me.
Its definitely gotten better, but I still have clogged pores, whiteheads, and comodones.

I hope I can have at least a little relief before I have to start dealing with wrinkles.

  189. Roxanne says:

Was searching for foundation primer on Google that your blog is part of the hit list, read about your review of the Physician Formula tinted moisturizer and scrolled down and saw this giveaway for TRIA system.

I was filing my federal tax this morning as it was rejected last night at 10.00PM!!! I filed electronically through TurboTax — apparently, the AGI that I put in was wrong — i freaked out. Called up the IRS today and went through the automated voice system and tried to find out my AGI — it says to put it as zero … so, let’s see what is going to happen!

By the way, enjoy reading your reviews…. this is first time I am writing a comment for a blog! Good work!

  190. Alyce Gabriel says:

  194. Leslie says:

    yeah for Fridays!

My boyfriend and I are avid movie watchers. We love watching them in theaters and renting them to watch at home. For the past couple of months, he’s been choosing not-so-great movies, but he finally picked two good ones, one of which was Law Abiding Citizen. I loved it, but this weekend is chick-flick weekend so it’s my turn to choose, can’t wait!!!

  196. Kalyn says:

Still searching for my ever elusive summer internship! Apparently, no one wants to pay you when you’re a student. Oh well, somehow this summer will pass like all the one’s before it. The days will be hot and my makeup will melt. I look forward to the weekend so I can sleep in.

  197. Cindy says:

What a great give away, but unfortunately not for international readers….
I was so excited when i saw this give away. I’m 40 now, and still have acne, and really big breakouts sometimes.
I tried so many brands…. But not one brand is the HG for me.

It’s been two months, and my skin is reminding me so much of my teenage years I could cry. (Yeah, whoever told me I would grow out of my acne by my twenties was SO WRONG, as I know you know!) Thank you for offering this contest Karen!

  330. Diane K. says:

WOW. This is a device I’ve been yearning, when was the last time you heard someone use that word, for since I first heard about it. I always have my doubts when devices or serums promise so much but in this case, I absolutely believe the product does work. Can you imagine how much pain, suffering and humiliation it will prevent teenagers and anyone else suffering from breakouts and acne? This is revolutionary just as the clarisonic has been a G-dsend. I waited 2 years before purchasing one of those mostly because I never have money but also because it seemed too good to be true. Yet in that case, I saw a major improvement in my skin immediately, which only improves the longer I use it. I’d love the opportunity to try the Tria system and I hope I get lucky this time and as always, I wish everyone the best of luck as well. I know we would all love to own one.

  349. Tracey says:

Wow do I need this TRIA Skin Clarifying System. After30-some years of messed up, ridiculously oily skin, even after taking Accutane in my 30’s, it’s time for some blue-light homecare. I just wish that *someday* I’d have clear skin confidence. This could really do it!

  361. Eryn* says:

today ended on a bad note.. because gossip girl ended up being a re-run lol.

  362. Melessa says:

this is so awesome! makes me sad/angry though this, would have been amaaaaaazing. ive suffered through acne for so long, about a decade now. even in my baby & toddler pictures i see pictures and most of them i have a rash around my mouth area. my whole freaking life my skin has sucked and i have it under decent control now because i take antiobiotics from the dermetologist. but i would still love to have this system because i have so much scarring i cant afford a single bit more. also if i won i would read into if its safe to use on your body cause i still have breakouts on my chest, back and bottom…im not sure if its just the comparison of acne being gone and going away but when its decribed to make your skin smoother, more even-toned, healthier, clearer, brighter and more radiant it seems like it would help not only my existing acne but also my scarring. i hope i win this…..
last Lost tomorrow and then theyre taking a break next week =(
