So, laugh if you will. That’s fine by me! But I love when a new Fearless Flyer comes in the mail. Last night I had to chose between the new Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer, Real Simple, Allure and Nylon for bedtime reading, and I chose the Fearless Flyer (of course!).
Um…best bedtime reading ever?! Because when was the last time you dreamed about pre-made Gyro meat? Fo’ reals, the Fearless Flyer will do that to ya.
Oh, and also, Trader Joe’s is the place to go now for low-key, affordable beauty products. Believe it. They have a new Organic Argan Oil, and it’s only $6.99 for a 1.7-oz. bottle (a bottle of Josie Maran’s Argan Oil at Sephora is $48 for the same size).
Incidentally, did you know that we get argan oil by extracting it from the kernels inside the fruit of the argan tree? And that to get to the kernals, the fruit is usually peeled and cracked by hand?
Yeah, because apparently they couldn’t get the Terminators to do it. 🙂
The things you learn from the Fearless Flyer!
In other news, TJs also has a new citrus-scented body wash that was made by “a very well-respected maker of high quality beauty care products, whose products sell for much higher prices at other retailers”?
Hello, mysterious! Color me intrigued…
I’m gonna smell it the next time I go to TJs and see if I can figure out who makes it. That is, if my nose is in working order again. I’m either having terrible allergies, or it’s still remnants of the cold I had last week, but my senses of smell and taste are still completely out of whack.
Oh, yeah! And TJs also still carries food. LOL! I made a long-@ss mental list last night of all the new things I want to try, starting with the Carrot Spirals (it says you can sub them for pasta).
I also want to try the Mexican Style Roasted Corn, the Sriracha Seafood Potstickers With Shrimp & Crab (YUMMERS!!!!!!), and even though it sounds like 10 extra pounds in a bowl, the Pepperoni Pizza MAC & Cheese.
Whoever writes this thing is hilarious! Now I want to get a big bag of tomatoes, use the bag as a purse, and post a pic on Instagram.
Are you all caught up on the latest Fearless Flyer? What sounds good to you?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I love the Fearless Flyer too! I even have a pen and paper beside me to take notes, haha! Don’t want to forget the items that catch my fancy when I shop at TJ’s.
Kelly says
Those San Marzano tomatoes are the best! I ate a whole bag in one sitting.
Erin says
I need those potstickers, asap.
Lex says
I know this is crazy, but I’ve still never been to Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods.
Yeah, what am I even doing with my life?!! lol.
I really need to check out both this weekend!
For some reason, even though I’ve never been, I get this flyer in the mail, too!
Now I can’t stop thinking about the gyro…….
And I love how you just slipped that MAC item in there, the one I’m dying to get! haha

I haven’t shopped at T.J.’s in a while. Last thing I bought were their lavender filled dryer sachets (I usually buy a ton when they’re in stock so I don’t have to go back and keep looking for them. And so I don’t run out) and their double wide cardboard cat scratchers. My kitty girl loves those things.

I’m want that Argan Oil and the chocolate chip sandwich cookies are going to make it into my cart! Trader Joe’s is my most favorite place to shop! The prices are great and there are lots of vegetarian options for my teenager!
Lily says
Oh yes! I love the Fearless Flyer too. I’m going to swing by there this week to check out the body wash and the gyro meat. I want to try the canned sparkling wines too. I only hope I can get out of there without the dark chocolate pistachio toffee!
Karen says
Hi Lily,
I had no idea they had canned sparkling wines! Adding them to the list right meow.

Definitely going on a TJ’s run now so I can get the Mexican style corn. Because elotes are my current food obsession.
Did you see the segment about Argan oil that aired a while back on the CBS Sunday morning show? There are these goats that climb the trees that the Argan nuts grow on; they swallow the nuts, but can’t digest them. So a couple of days later when… ummm… nature has taken it’s course, the local people collect the undigested nuts, because the acid in the goats’ stomachs have softened the extremely hard shell surrounding the Argan nuts, making it possible for the people to crack the shells and extract the oil by hand. It raises so many questions, such as “How did they first discover that the nuts were easier to crack after they had been through a goat’s digestive tract” and “Knowing this process, do I really want to put this Argan oil conditioner on my hair”?
Karen says
Hi Suzanne,
Nope, I didn’t see that segment, although I wish I did! I had no idea about the goat poop, but it kind of makes me love the process of extracting the oil EVEN MORE. Call me crazy.
Also… I’ve never had elotes. ? I know!

I love my fearless flyer! Once my husband tossed it before I could read it -big mistake, huge! I discovered I could see it online so he survived lol … I live for their puns in the articles.
Karen says
Hi Vanessa,
Me too! The illustrations are hilarious, too!

I love the Fearless Flyer! I just went to TJ’s with it in hand and picked up quite a few things with it! I bought many things from the flyer: the lemonade, pine nuts (I really want to try them, but one of my teeth is KILLING me. So sadly, not until an emergency root canal), bagels and a few others. I bought my mom the honey for Mother’s Day as she is a honey connoisseur. We have the Argan Oil at home and it’s great! It’s even a better value than the Aura Cacia Argan Oil (and it comes with a DROPPER! No waste!)
I buy the vast majority of our meat at Trader Joe’s because I can make sure it’s everything free and well-taken care of (and in the case of beef, kosher!) That’s important for me as I have lupus and hormones, antibiotics and much of that stuff makes my lupus worse!
Karen says
Hi Kate & Zena,
We get our meat from TJ’s too. I just found something kind of cool in the frozen section — frozen ground organic beef! It’s a little more affordable than the fresh stuff in the meat section.
Chelsea says
I never go to TJ’s because the one here is just really inconveniently located! We had a Fresh Thyme market open fairly recently though, so I’ve been shopping there a lot.

I wonder if it is Lush who makes the wash. The ingredients remind me of them.
