Rise and shine, morning glory! 🙂 Yup, it’s that time again. Another Sunday. And because it’s raining here and has been for days, MBB’s resident feline ambassador is fussy. Right now he’s ignoring me at the top of his cat tower.
How are things going on your end? Have you done anything exciting this weekend? Any new movies perhaps? Like one featuring a girl named Katniss and a cat named Buttercup?
I’m actually thinking about seeing it a second time tonight! That’s how much I liked it. Of course, I love, love, LOVE the books, so there’s also that.
Not much going on out here today. The only thing I have to do is go grocery shopping, and I really should go to Trader Joe’s. Sometimes when I’m lazy I just cheese out and go to Safeway instead, because it’s closer and less crowded, but whenever I do I end up spending twice as much for half as much food, much of it less healthy than what I can get at Trader Joe’s. So I should go to Trader Joe’s. We’ll see.
Whatever you’re up to, I hope it’s something fun.

They’re unrelenting! The makeup monsters are back, yet again, even though their fancy promotional poster is almost completely out of room, haha! Seriously, there’s no room left in that big poster down there. That, and I’m running out of monster ideas! Today, it was down to 1) a creature that eats makeup wipes and 2) one that devours lip plumpers.
But then at the last minute my eyes settled upon a lonely Chanel quad…
The Quad Swindler
Description: Once upon a time, a goblin employed by a big cosmetics guild was arrested for thievery by the local guard and sentenced to work as the royal wizard’s assistant.
The wizard, wanting for power and an endless supply of eyeshadow, magically transformed the goblin into the first Quad Swindler, with the idea being that the Swindler would then go out and steal eyeshadow and return it to the wizard.
Of course, the idea backfired, and the goblin fled into the countryside, where he/it stops eyeshadow owners along secluded roads to swindle them out of their pans of eyeshadow, which he/it uses to keep his quad filled. It’s all very complicated… 🙂

I just came back from the Hunger Games! I already teared up during the first minute or two I think, and again when you-know-who died. Sad sad thing! But I really like it. I like how it doesn’t stray far from the book, which is brilliant to begin with. And that Buttercup? He’s FIERCE!
Besides that I swatched 4 Dior Addict Extremes for my blog, which means I spent the afternoon hiding behind the living room curtain with a camera, a mirror, and the lipsticks. That’s my idea of a fun Sunday lol

Hi, Sunny. YES! Wasn’t it great? I’m seriously contemplating seeing it again, maybe tonight.
Great job on your swatching. I love those lippies, and the table/desk you used for your background is pretty too. I’m also snapping some pics right now for tomorrow, but right after that I’m heading out to get my groceries. There’s nothing left to eat in the house except cheddar bunnies, stale bread and peanut butter. I hate it when that happens.

If you have fresh bread, that almost looks like a meal to me lol
I’m horrible like that. I almost always skip lunch nowadays because I’m alone at home, and I can ALWAYS find something to do on my computer that delays lunch till it’s way too late to have any!

Saw the Hunger Games yesterday…and of course LOVED it! Husband described the people from the Capitol as “MAC people” 😀

Hi, Karen. I have been a lurker for the past few years or so and just wanted to say that I love your blog! Reading your posts makes me smile and feel better when I have a bad day like today : )
As for makeup monsters, I’m fortunate not to have encountered most of them (phew!) but I’ve been wondering about the culprit behind my drying cream products…

I keep meaning to pop over from my reader to mention how much I love your makeup monsters, but I never do. Cute, witty, perfect. I look forward to these posts every week so see what new creature will be featured.

I love your monsters! Did you draw them yourself? Very professionally done!

The movie was awesome! My husband saw it with me and said he really liked it, and he hasn’t even read the books yet. We might go see it again.
I cried at Rue, and that little addition they had after that part (trying not to spoil) was really good, wasn’t it? I’m glad they added it.
Karen says
I know the part you’re talking about and I got all choked up then too!
What did you think of the guy who played Peeta? He’s getting mixed reviews.
eight says
I thought he was alright. I wasn’t a fan of Peeta until the end of Mockingjay (before that I was all Team Gale), but I liked him in the movie. Especially his camouflage! I think the actor looks like a potato though. 😛
