A big hand-waving hello from sunny Novato, California!
Haaay! I’m back at home in the Bay after my birthday trip to New Orleans, and our regularly scheduled beauty bloggery will resume on Monday.
As you can probably imagine, my tabby employer was overjoyed to have his assistant back. He was so overjoyed, in fact, that he barely lifted a paw in protest when I said that I planned to showcase a couple more of the cat friends I made in NOLA.
As it turns out, working as a shopkeeper cat is one of the most lucrative feline gigs available in the city.
This particular white, orange and gray beauty models for a local art gallery…
A woman working next door said about her — and I quote — “That cat is a monster!”
I didn’t believe it because she was purr-fectly professional during our interaction. She even let me pet her paw when I poked into the gallery.
I also chilled with this dainty diva, who worked at a competing local gallery down the street…
I told her that I loved her sense of style (you can’t go wrong with black satin and bling), and she rewarded me with headbutts and purrs.
I had a blast networking with NOLA’s very talented business kitties.
OK…that was a totally crazy cat lady thing to say, LOL! 🙂
In other news, I’m glad to be home! I love traveling and exploring new places, but nothing compares to sleeping in your own cat hair-covered bed.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I spy cat vans on your feet! I need to buy a pair!
I remember when I was little my mom and I would go to this store (pet related) and they had 2 cats that roamed freely in the store. It was so much fun. Actually we just went to a car dealership (an independent one) that had a dog door for the owner’s dog in the main office and everyone that worked there was allowed to bring their dog in to work!

So cute. I believe a shop owner can up his profits by having a cat walking around in it. They’re just irresistible.

The owners of a frame shop here in downtown Petaluma bring their cats to work with them. They have 2 Siamese cats and they’re super mellow, they are very social. Hubby and I were looking at frames and one of them sauntered up to us. The owners put cat beds all around but of course the cats prefer to sleep in odd spots. The best part was the sketch we had framed turned out amazing. (We are crazy cat people. We had to send one of our cats, Ernie, to the rainbow bridge. Shortly after that my husband found an artist online that does sketches of pets. We emailed her and found her to be really easy to work with and she’s done an incredible job. I felt like the frame shop owners got it and added some extra touches to the matting to make the whole thing look really professional)

Happy Birthday again

Ooooh, the art gallery kitty looks a lot like Paco Rabanne, who has taken to sleeping in a large paper bag. When I ask him what’s up he says he doesn’t want to talk about it. Sigh.

Love your blog and really enjoyed your pics from N.O. Saw the new Smashbox Cat Eye Kits and thought “that is right up Karen’s (alley) cat.
Check ’em out! They are sooooo cute!

I’ve been to a Pet Store in Manistique, MI, and they had residential cats roaming around the store. They lounged wherever they pleased…..even on the counter where the register was. One was in the room where I was looking at pet supplies, and it came up to me and rubbed against my leg and had to get scratched. LOL

Love this post! My birthday is coming early next month and I’m grabbing a few friends to head to a museum or two in NYC. It’d be awesome to rock a fierce MAC lip courtesy of the Tabs 🙂

Ooh, the shoes you wore in the kitty-petting picture were so cute!! My neighborhood’s hardware store has a cat that hangs out and pokes its head out when you browse the shelves haha 🙂
