Talent.
What is “talent”?
Mysterious. Hard to define. That certain je ne sais quoi that only some cats have. Just look at all of the kitty models who never quite make it to supermodel status, and all of those broken hearts and broken dreams… Tabs has a great eye for discovering talent, believe it or not, and throughout his career as the world’s first and foremost plus-size kitty model, he has cultivated a number of talented photographers, kitty models, cat actors and designers. You just don’t hear about them all the time because he’s not the braggy type.
His latest discovery is poised to set the photography world on fire. Tabs found him through an underground network of feline friends and professionals because, you know, he’s a cat from the street. He likes to keep his ears and paws close to the ground where the action is. He’s not just about Chanel and Dior and that jet-set life. No matter what, he never forgets where he came from.
So he started hearing about this photographer named Z.
Yes, that’s his real name. Not “Zi” or “Zee.” It’s just the letter Z. He’s so mysterious…
Z has this really unique photography style, and Tabs, being part talent scout, spotted it from a mile away. He knew that Z was destined to be a big star in the photography world, so Tabs commissioned a series of portraits for Z to do, and because Tabs doesn’t do anything halfway, he had the corporate jet fly out to New York to pick Z up (he’s from Brooklyn, apparently), and fly him out here to the West Coast.
They worked together all weekend long. I hardly saw Tabs at all. They worked on this series of pictures, and I think they’re some of Tabs’s best work yet. I just saw them today, and so the plan is — Tabs tells me — to sell the works at this art boutique/gallery in San francisco’s Union Square called La Maison du Chat, and the opening, I believe, is in two weeks.
I’ll let you know the details when I have them, but the early buzz is huge. Expect the pictures to sell like hotcakes, so if you see anything here you’re interested in, leave me a comment, and I’ll get back to you with a quote and some additional information.
And it doesn’t stop there. Tabs also plans to donate 100% of the proceeds from the art show, all of it, to his foundation, The Tabs the Cat Scholarship Fund for Disadvantaged Up-And-Coming Kitty Models.
Tabs is all of these wonderful things — talent scout, kitty model, gardener, gravy tester — but he’s also a philanthropist.
So here are his pictures. You’re getting the first public preview! Enjoy, and let us know what you think. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Hello Jessica,
You’re too kind. I do try to live up to the expectations of my fans. It’s the honorable thing to do.

my cats wouldn’t be nearly as nice as you are, in your position. 🙂

I like the one with the bow. Not neglecting his feminine site, speaking up for gender equality… Just what I thought Tabs would do!
Tabs says
Thank you! When it comes to neglect, the only thing I neglect is neglect itself.
Plus, I’ve always thought I look good in pink and polka dots. 🙂
Much love, always,
Tabs

Tabs stands tail and shoulders above the other kitty models I know. He is a style icon!
Tabs can you give one piece of advice to other hopeful kitty models who want to achieve greatness?
Tabs says
Hi Sarah,
I can tell that you’re very observant. 🙂 As far as one piece of advice?
BE BOLD.
Tail twitches and trills,
Tabs

Such great work for both you and Z, Tabs!
My dad is building a kitty command station / catio for my brother-cat, Houghton (Hoho), inspired by your Tabby command center and Pinterest. Made me think of you!
Tabs says
That’s fantastic for you and Houghton, Chelsea! Bravo! I love my kitty command center. Why, I just lounged out there a few minutes ago. It’s a nice day here. Little muggy for my taste, but the birds put on a great show.
Much love,
Tabs

Tabs,
How do you stay in such good shape? One of the cats I assist used to do some print work and various commercials. He’s gained quite a bit of weight, he got paid in wet food for one of his bigger contracts. He hasn’t been getting any calls since he filled out. He went on a few auditions for husky cats, but he hasn’t gotten any call backs. Any advice?
