Dear Diary,
Ah, summer… This is my favorite time of year.
Oh! Right as I typed that I realized that I’d forgotten about spring, which I also love because of the great salad, but this is definitely my second favorite time of year.
I’ve been spending a lot of time outside. Between my gardening and trying to secure the perimeter, there’s so much to do. It seems like some cat or another is always trying to infiltrate the property. The cats around here have no respect for boundaries, I tell ya, and I really don’t like it when cats come over uninvited.
The gardens are doing very well. The hibiscus are blooming, and they smell divine. And the tomatoes? They’re going off! I don’t care much about the fleshy fruit, but the leaves taste outstanding. You should try them sometime. They’re fantastic in a salad with a side of sunflower leaves and grass.
You know, I sure do love gardening, and I think I have a green paw for it because everything about it comes naturally.
Except for the watering, of course. I don’t do the watering. I leave that to my landscaper/assistant.
The birds outside are getting extremely annoying, so that’s one thing I’m dealing with, and it has to do with the bird-based home entertainment system I incorporated when I designed the gardens.
Basically, it hasn’t been working because the birds are breaking the rules. They were supposed to limit their activities to a small area where I could watch them from the comfort of my tabby command center, but they’ve literally taken over. They kick their seeds everywhere and knock over my plants but never do any of the cleaning. It’s rude, filthy and totally uncalled for. Something has to be done about it.
Which reminds me, I think the tabby command center needs some routine maintenance. “Siri, remind me to tell the contractor to check on the tabby command center tomorrow.”
Some of the screws are coming loose, which concerns me because I spend a great deal of time out there managing my empire.
I’ll touch base again soon.
Stay fabulous,
Tabs

Ya know what, I always used to say that summer was my favorite season after winter but I’m starting to change my mind… I’m thinking winter is my season!
Good luck keeping those chirpy birdies in check, Tabs. Show ’em who’s boss.

Yes, I’ve called a company meeting of Tabs the Cat Industries LLC personnel this afternoon to discuss the growing bird problem and to strategize the company’s response…
I’ll keep you posted.
Much love,
Tabs

You are absolutely right, you have to keep these birds in check. If you don’t , they´ll start spreading the word you are getting weak, and no good can come from that!
