I’m so fired up right now!
Get this: I’m checking my email this afternoon and bam! — it practically jumps at me off the screen. A message from my boss, Tabs (tabs@partywithtabs.com), with the subject, “Need you to work next Friday.”
Excuse me…?
No way. I submitted my vacation request form two weeks ago for a trip to Tahoe El Hub and I have been planning for months. We were going to leave next Friday, just for a couple days. Tabs knew all about it, too. We even talked about it at work the other day.
Gah! I’m so angry right now my hands are shaking.
I can’t believe it… Everything I do for that cat, and it’s never enough.
I’ll tell you this much, if he thinks I’m canceling my trip at this point, he’s got another thing coming. Not this time. Not gonna happen.
Anyway, there were also a few pictures attached to that email from Tabs, some stuff he wanted me to add to his kitty modeling portfolio. Have you seen these yet? 🙂
Who is Tabs the Cat? About five years ago I befriended a stray, flea-bitten tabby cat with a bad case of worms. I could see he’d fallen on hard times, but his profound knowledge of high fashion and department store cosmetics led me to believe that he was more than meets the eye. We became fast friends, and now he’s actually my boss (and a successful kitty model). 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. To learn more about my extremely demanding, finicky employer, plus-size kitty supermodel Tabs, you can check out the archives here.

Oh, I feel your pain, my friend! As I said to my equally demanding employer recently “it’s a good thing you’re so cute!”
And…. just as I’m typing this, she IM’s me the following: “I’d like a scarf in each of the colors displayed behind Tabs in the Gravy Seeker ad. Get on it, woman!”

LOL Gravy Seeker! I’m afraid to know your consequences for forgoing his demands come Friday… D:

Hi Karen … I’ve recently started following your blog and I was really impressed … I really adore both make up and cats, and you’ve combined both in one place … WOW! I became addicted to you and to your bossy cat Tabs. And by the way, tell him he looks amazing in Mac’s ad … 🙂 Love you!

Grovel. And beg. And he might let you go to Tahoe! But I wouldn’t count on a Christmas bonus this year! LOL!

I am so torn this week. Dont know what my favorite is, but its a toss up between MAC Gravyseeker and your awesome ad for the Sonia Kashuk Studded Cat Collar.
May I pick both, Tabs? Please? With gravy on top?

He looks so hot in the Gravyseeker ad. Wait, he looks hot in all of them, always! Frankly, i am running out of adjectives for Tabster! :).
Add some extra catnip garnish to his gravy and who knows, he might surprise you with a trip to Tahoe ;).

Great ads! I petted the giant tabby who lives at the local rabbit sanctuary and thought of him 🙂

Tabs looks so intimidating in the Gravyseeker ad. I hope you two can work it out.

Gravy Seeker? Hahaha!
Wait, I have an evil idea… You could refuse to serve him gravy until he gives up and lets you go next Friday. Gravy strike, baby!

Gravyseeker! Hahaha. Love it. I just received a memo (“from the desk of Patches”) that we have run out of canned food… looks like the hubby and I have a plan for the evening now.

I just got back from Tahoe! IDK which area you’re heading to, but in the Northwest part of the lake, it was a bit cold/ windy … not too bad though. If you’re in that vicinity, I love eating on the back deck at Sunnyside, looking out over the lake – or for a less expensive, Mexican food version of that, Hacienda del Lago at the Boatworks mall in Tahoe City is also great 🙂

You should do a “tabs is not impressed” spread. That would be hilarious 🙂
