Tabs excels at many things — really, he’s like the da Vinci of American Shorthair tabbies — but he sure could use a lesson in subtlety.
Take today’s pet poll. Tabs felt we were overdue for one, but instead of asking nicely for my help, he bit my elbow and barked, “Meow!”
Which is fussy tabby code for, “Get cracking!”
Whatev. There’s no point in arguing with him when he gets like this. It’s better to just concede. 🙂
Who is Tabs the Cat? About five years ago I befriended a stray, flea-bitten tabby cat with a bad case of worms. I could see he’d fallen on hard times, but his profound knowledge of high fashion and department store cosmetics led me to believe that he was more than meets the eye. We became fast friends, and now he’s actually my boss (and a successful kitty model).
The Sundays With Tabs Sunday Pet Poll
Same idea as the Monday Poll. Just copy/paste the list below into your comment. Tabs and I love hearing about your furry and fur-less friends (he also sees it as “researching the competition”).

Husky diva kitty supermodel/entrepreneur.
Obviously someone charming and good-looking (obviously). 🙂 And he would have to have some meat on his bones and be able to play a bit of a rough-and-tumble thug. Maybe Christopher Meloni?
When he sleeps in our bed through the night, which he rarely does. Most nights he sticks around for a few minutes of lurvies, then leaves once he gets his fill.
Absolutely. In fact, he’s the only one in this family who doesn’t like Trader Joe’s.
Tabs loves to eat — sliced turkey, wheat bread (yes, wheat bread), seafood, and pretty much anything in gravy) — and he fancies himself as a bit of a feline foodie, but he cannot stand Trader Joe’s cat food. He won’t touch it.
Only animals of the human variety, to which he’s very sweet, but he’s hyper-territorial around other cats.
If he so much as catches a glimpse of a cat far off in the distance, he crouches low, grumbles angrily and puffs up his tail. And if the cat approaches, Tabs takes off after it like an angry lion!
Big sigh… I’ve wanted to get Tabs a sibling for a while, but I’m afraid he’d be a bully.
Big paws up for both! He loves playing dress-up, and he has quite a wardrobe, actually. He’s particularly fond of his yellow submarine costume and shark sweater.
But his favorite outfit by far is his tweed newsboy cap, which he loves to wear on casual Fridays.
LOL! Yes. In fact, Tabs just gave a birthday card to El Hub. It was one of those musical ones and had a DJ kitty rapping and scratching over a hip-hop beat.
It got a good laugh. 🙂
A few years ago El Hub and I spent 12 days visiting his parents in Hawaii, and it was very hard on Tabs, even though he had a pet sitter keeping him company.
He doesn’t deal with change very well…and I know he missed not having me to boss around. I missed him terribly, too.
In a word, no. Let me put it this way: Tabs did not make the kitty Olympic team this year.
I’m sure he thinks of himself as sleek and graceful like a jungle cat, but he’s much more Garfield than Simba.
Back when I knew him as a stray, I would watch him walk along the top of a narrow fence behind our apartment to get to our front door, and every time, I’d hold my breath because his back legs would slip a few times along the way. He always managed to catch himself with his sharp claws, but I was always afraid he’d fall.

Katrin says
Haha, you made me laugh so much because I bought the exact same card for my Dad yesterday!
Karen says
How funny! Did you start laughing when you opened the card up at the store? I totally did!
Jane says
I have two cats, Amber and Jeremiah, but I will answer for Amber:
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
Beautiful, affectionate, smart, inquisitive, stubborn.
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Meryl Streep
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
She lies on the couch beside me and puts her head in my lap and asks me to scratch her chin.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
None that I’ve found. She is fond of Taste of the Wild Smoked Salmon and Venison dry food, Greenies snacks and of course canned food when she can get it. (I once had a cat that loved cantaloupe. As soon as I cut one open she would come running and not settle down until I gave her the rinds to lick.)
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
Not so much. I brought another cat into the house after I had had Amber about a year, and it took FOREVER for them to tolerate each other. To this day they still wrestle and chase each other and fight over which one is “top catâ€. Sometimes Jeremiah will walk up to her and “kiss†her on the nose. She usually hauls off and gives him a swat for his trouble.
6. How does your cat feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
We’ve never tried it. She doesn’t mind her harness though.
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
Of course.
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
Not more than two or three days. This tells me I need a vacation!
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
Yes. She knows how to play fetch with her toy mice, and she does somersaults and flips in the air when we play with her feathers-on-a-stick toy.
Karen says
Hi Jane,
Tabs loves Greenies too. I just bought him an extra large bag of it yesterday. Hope you, Amber and Jeremiah had a great weekend!
Chelsea says
This was so much fun to read!
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
Quincy (bunny): Diva, Picky, Adorable, Distinguished, Diva again
Jiji (kitty): Loud, sleek, snuggly, playful, annoying (at least to his bunnybrother)
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Quincy: Brad Pitt (this is what my fiance said)
Jiji: Morgan Freeman (this is what my fiance says, I don’t know why)
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
Quincy: He LOVES to give kisses! When he kisses me on the nose it makes me so happy
Jiji: I love waking up snuggled up next to him.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
Quincy is very very picky, and he’s part dwarf, and has a sensitive stomach because of that. He can’t eat hard lettuces (romaine, etc). He’s supposed to eat mostly timothy hay, which he won’t eat. His diet consists of parsley, dandelion greens, timothy hay pellets, and for treats he gets carrots and fruit chunks (banana is like a drug for bunnies)
Jiji’s not that picky, he just likes to eat.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
Quincy gets along with his kittybrother okay, but is not too fond of other bunbuns. We tried to adopt him bunnyfriends from the local rabbit sanctuary, but none worked out. He used to get along okay with my friend’s bunny though.
Jiji was a rescue, and he LOVES Quincy. He kisses the bunny on the head, pats him, plays with him, etc. I found a baby kitten in the parking lot of our complex last year though, and took care of him for a couple days (he had scabs, was dirty, little, and had worms), and Jiji was super pissed, hissing at him, etc.
6. How does your cat feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
Quincy is adamantly against it. I can’t even get him to put a harness on to take walks.
I’ve never tried to dress up the cat, but I can’t think that it would go well…
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
They always sign the cards! My parents love their grandbunny and grandkitty.
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
I’ve been gone from Quincy for almost 7 weeks once, when I did my study abroad. My fiance took care of him 🙂 Jiji I’ve been gone from for 2 and a half weeks, while I was in Europe this summer, and he was fine because my fiance was home 🙂
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
Quincy: No. Not at all. He doesn’t particularly like hopping up on things (one of the bunfriends we tried adopting was always hopping on top of the couch and stuff, it was pretty cool). He likes to flop, and maybe run around for a little bit. He gets exercise only when the cat is chasing him.
Jiji – he’s pretty sleek. He’s always on top of things and jumping around.
Karen says
LOL, Chelsea! I can totally picture Quincy and Jiji’s personalities based on the Hollywood pet pics. 🙂 Thank you for filling out the poll!

2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Angelina Jolie, Salt-style.
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
She used to give hugs and put her paws on my shoulders.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
No -she ate everything – but she never liked to take medicine.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
She didn’t care for other animals, but was never mean towards them. Just liked her own space.
6. How does your cat feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
She wasn’t a fan of the Halloween costumes we tried to foist off on her!
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
I did, all the time. They were always cooler than my cards.
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
The longest was 10 days when my family and I went to the UK. I called the boarding place and begged them to stay open for a bit longer since our flight was late, but they didn’t let me and I had to wait another day to get her. That was rough!
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
Yup – she loved soccer balls 🙂
Karen says
Hi Elle,
What a nice way to remember your dog. 🙂 Thank you for filling out the poll and sharing her with me!
Ines, Cha Cha, LeRoux, Emily, Kashi & Po'Boy says
I have 5 pets currently – 2 cats, 1 dog and 2 hedgehogs. I did have a betta fish until a week ago, but Ichabod left us and went to the rainbow bridge (he was 3 1/2 years old, which is really old for a fish).
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
Cha Cha (cat): lazy, bottom heavy, silky, demanding, stately
LeRoux (cat): social, talkative (won’t shut up!), annoying (in a good way), impish, babyish
Emily (dog): clumsy, stubborn, bovine, cuddly, faithful
Kashi (hedgehog): grumpy, runner, disapproving, narcoleptic (falls asleep everywhere), adorable
Po’Boy (hedgehog): gourmand, rotund, jiggly, antisocial, smelly (he was neglected and hasn’t learned to be with people yet)
Ichabod, aka “Icky” (fish, RIP): flashy, combatant (he is a betta/siamese fighting fish after all), colorful, unsociable, greedy (he loves his food pellets and bloodworms)
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Cha Cha would get Morgan Freeman’s voice but Christian Bale’s dark, brooding looks.
LeRoux would be played by a ginger kid who looks like a leprechaun (I don’t know who yet).
Emily would be played by Diane Keaton or Meryl Streep (like, Julie & Julia Meryl, not Devil Wears Prada – more easygoing and jovial).
Kashi would be played by Elijah Wood (small, impish and kind of hedgehog-y for some reason).
Po’Boy, the guy who plays Joey Tribbiani’s dad in Friends.
Ichabod – none other than Prince! Maybe David Bowie during his flashier, Ziggy Stardust days… or even RuPaul!
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
Cha Cha will have his weird moments of super duper cute – then go back to his old, “I am too good for you” self. LeRoux will sit on your tummy and make biscuits while meowing the story of how he killed the moth in the house that evening; Emily will sleep with you, and in the morning she will creep up close and put her head on your chest and sigh deeply like she’s super happy. Kashi and Po’Boy both will look amazingly disapproving and grumpy, but it’s really adorable at the same time. Ichabod – he’s nice to look at I guess, but I don’t think he’s as “cute” as the other pets, unfortunately!
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
The cats refuse ANYTHING that looks like medicine, but they’ll eat some human stuff, especially those with meat, certain veggies, butter/cheese/dairy. Emily is like a trash can on 4 legs, she’ll take anything people are having, including pills and meds. The hedgehogs, strangely enough, will eat certain kinds of worms and their dry food but not other kinds of worms/insects. Ichabod will eat anything that resembles pellets or blood worms.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
The hedgehogs don’t really care for the other four-legged buddies in the house, but the dogs and the cats get along fine for the most part. Cha Cha will fearlessly beat up Emily, who is 8 times his size (domestic cat, 10 pounds vs. American Pit Bull Terrier, 80 pounds), if he feels she’s getting too cocky.
6. How does your cat feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
Cha Cha will tolerate hats and the like for a few seconds at a time, LeRoux will run away as fast as he can, or flop around on the floor like the shirt is killing him. Emily just doesn’t give a crap. For their birthdays, we put cardboard party hats on the hedgehogs, and they kept them on long enough for photos!
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
No…
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
A couple days – it was too long!
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
LeRoux is probably the acrobat; Kashi the marathon runner (on his wheel); Cha Cha is sneaky/cunning with his plan of attack;’ Po’Boy is currently trying very hard to lose weight (he came to us as a rescue hedgehog – and he was morbidly obese), and Emily is starting to get a steady jogger’s pace.
Karen says
I love how your fish would be played by RuPaul! That’s awesome. 🙂
Phyrra says
This was so cute!
1. describe your pet in 5 words
Intelligent, loyal, loving, beautiful, protective
2. what star would play Phaedra?
Tough question, maybe Xenia Seeberg or Penelope Cruz.
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
When she puts her head on my leg and stares at me adoringly while I’m reading a book and petting her.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
Not that I can think of. She loves most foods.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
Phaedra gets along with other animals, she loves them, she just always has to show them that she’s the alpha.
6. How does your cat feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
Phaedra enjoys some dress up and tolerates others. She’s very good natured about whatever I do.
7. Do you ever give greeting cards on behalf of your pet?
Yes.
8. What’s the longest you’ve spent separated from your pet?
The longest I’ve spent away from her was 5 days. She spent time with my friend so she wasn’t alone (and she adores her), but we both missed each other.
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
Yes. Phaedra has boundless energy. She’s prety graceful, too. She bounces around like a Tigger and leaps like a gazelle. She literally runs circles around me at the dog park.

I’ll answer on behalf of my fat Russian blue, Babar!
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?: Clumsy, chunky, lovable, sweet, (kinda) stupid
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?: Kevin James haha
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?: When I wake up and he’s cuddled against my stomach or around my head on the pillow.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?: Canned food. He’ll sniff it for a little then leave it for the dry food.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?: He gets along with other cats, but he has a love/hate relationship with my puppy. Sometimes they play and sometimes he try tries to scratch the pup’s eyes out!
6. How does your pet feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?: He hates it.
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?: Only cards to my mother. I always draw a picture of each of the cats and sign it for all of them.
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?: I got Babar the summer before my senior year in college, and my apartment didn’t allow pets. So that time between September and May, with only going home (it was only a 30 minute train ride away) about once a month or so.
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?: Not in the least.
Patty says
1. How would you describe your pet in five words? Soiled, spazzy, sweet, OCD, beautiful
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life? I think Zooey Dechanel – the personality fits! If my cat could sing and dance, I think she would!
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart? At night, when I go to bed, she stands on my chest for 5 seconds and then burrows into my neck and kneads and purrs up a storm! She also drools alot.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat? I don’t feed her people food. She is a cat treat whore. Pretty much any kind.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals? When I adopted her, her sister had already been adopted by someone else. I assume she would be ok with others. But since I am a loner, so is she. We have each other!
6. How does your pet feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up? She has a pretty collar but I haven’t dressed her up.
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet? yes, and gifts too!
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet? Only a couple of days. I don’t sleep well without her next to me.
9. Is your pet naturally athletic? She seems to be.
Heidi says
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
Finicky, demanding, impatient, schizophrenic, hilarious.
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Missy says only Meryl Streep will do. Nothing but the best for this diva.
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
When she crawls into my lap and starts loudly purring.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
Anything that’s not seafood flavored. The only exception is Temptations in Catnip Bliss. She’s all over those.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
She enjoys watching birds and doesn’t attempt to chase them. As far as other cats go, forget it. As soon as she sees one, hissing and growling ensues.
6. How does your pet feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
I can’t even get Missy to tolerate a collar around her neck. I wouldn’t risk my life by trying to put anything else on her. Not enough bandaids in the world!
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
When my mother was alive, she always got birthday and Christmas cards from Missy.
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
Only overnight once or twice.
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
If you call randomly running through the house at 90 mph for no apparent reason “athletic”, then – sure!
Pinkie Pie Style says
Tabs is a cutie! I have two brother kitties that looks sorta like him with dark green eyes and they are almost blackish gray.
Dea says
This is about my cat Carlos:
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
good-natured, lazy, attention-needing, always hungry
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
I don’t know why exactly, but I immediately thought of Danny DeVito. 🙂
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
A grumbling sound when I stroke his back. It’s his signature sound, I would always recognize it, even without seeing him.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
Unfortunately not too many! He likes noodles, rice and is crazy for pastries like donuts. We try to stop him of course but he can be really bulldog about this kind of food.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
Well, he does not really get in touch with other animals, except for our second cat. He is in a love-hate relationship with him. He likes him, but they are steadily quarreling about who’s the CCEO (cat-CEO) in the house. There were no severe injuries so far though! 😉
6. How does your pet feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
Never tried it and never will!
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
Not yet, but that’s a nice idea!
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
14 days, when I was on holiday. He lives with my parents, so it wasn’t really hard for him.
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
Well… Somehow he is not able to lick milk like other cats do, he always spills half the milk out in all directions – so this looks like effort to me, but it doesn’t really count. So no, he’s not athletic!
Nina says
awesome idea, Tabs and great follow through, Karen the assistant! 😀
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
Linus is a diva, chubby and adorable.
LOL is a scrapper, chubby and affectionate!
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Linus – Seth Rogen
LOL – Jonah Hill
What can I say, our cats are comedians!
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
Both of them are sweet, but LOL is more showy with his affection. When he lays on my legs, im putty in his paws. Linus likes to be curious so its adorable how he is always in the middle of things – be it dinner, assembling furniture, sleeping, etc.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat? Nope. Nada. None. They take after their mom haha!
5. Does your pet get along with other animals? Both of them, and even Anja

Mojo is lazy!
Ruchita says
Yay, for pet polls! I love having an excuse to talk about my babies. 🙂
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
Mingus: Striped tough outdoorsy handsome tomcat
Ella: Sweet fluffy lovable cuddle bunny
Nina: Playful sleek mischevious spunky youngster
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Mingus: Mingy has a bit of a swagger to him, so after seeing Magic Mike, I would have to say Channing Tatum
Ella: She’s a mature, regal kitty so I think Dame Judy Dench or Hellen Mirren
Nina: I think a young Hollywood starlet like Emma Watson could capture Nina’s personality
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
Mingus: When he’s really relaxed, he’ll roll over on his back and let me ruby his belly.
Ella: She’ll jump on me while I’m on the couch or laying in bed and will lean forward to “kiss” me with her nose.
Nina: Sometimes when she see’s me coming she’ll chirp out a little meow and roll on her back.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
Mingus: Nope, he’ll eat pretty much anything and is very curious about human foods. I’ll let him sniff stuff sometimes, and if he doesn’t like it, he’ll wrinkle his nose.
Ella: She’s a plus-size kitty, but luckily she doesn’t like human food. She likes her Fancy Feast seafood flavor and some dry food.
Nina: She’s like Mingy and will eat anything. If I sit down on the couch with a plate of food, she gets very curious about what I’m doing.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
Mingus: He’ll get territorial when he see’s cats outside. If they get too close, he’ll growl and hiss. Luckily, he mostly gets along with Ella and Nina. It may be b/c they’re both females. I’m not sure how he’d do with another male in the house.
Ella: She puts up with Mingus but is not crazy about young Nina. Ideally she’d do best as an only kitty, but as long as the other two stay out of her way, she’s fine. Sometimes she’ll hiss and swat if they get too close, but she’s not aggressive to the point of hurting them.
Nina: Yes, she loves Mingus and they’ll run around the house and play all the time.
6. How does your pet feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
I haven’t tried it with any of them, but I think Ella would probably be the most accepting.
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
Nope..not yet! 🙂
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
I was away on a work trip for 4 days, but my husband was home with them. We’ve never both been gone at the same time. I would really miss them if I was gone for long time.
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
Mingus: Oh yes! He loves to be outside running around and chasing bugs.
Ella: Haha, not at all! She’ll sometime swat or chase toys, and then other times she’ll just stare at me like I’m crazy if I try to play with her.
Nina: Since she’s still a young’un she’s very active. I play with her a couple of times a day and she’ll run around and do crazy flips in the air.
Sierrablue says
Since I have two cats, I’ll describe the diva Chloe, her flat mate Kuerbis is all cool, calm and collected at all times.
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
Soft, loud, snuggly, demanding, loving
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Kate Beckinsale (she is pretty athletic!)
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
She rolls on her back, her paws up like a bunny when she wants me to play with her. So cute
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
Hahahahaha, every day is a struggle with this girl. Took me months to find her dry food she would eat, trying to feed her wet food every day (diff. flavors) and 9 out of 10 times she just walks away. My boy cat is husky for a reason finishing her meals too.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
She is a very loving cat, I know she likes other cats (not Kuerbis though). She is scared of dogs.
6. How does your pet feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
Only if I have a death wish.
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
Of course, they are family too 🙂
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
4 weeks, I’m regularly gone for work and it breaks my heart, they are so miserable. This summer i was already gone 4 times (3 each 1week trips, 1 2weeks trip). They have professional pet sitters and other folks checking up on them.
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
She is very athletic and can play for hours at a time. Wearing me out in the process.

I love being able to talk about my dogs with other pet lovers. I’ll be filling this out for both of my dogs.
1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
Adorable, sweet, biggest mooches ever. (They are insane around food, since they’re both beagles.)
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Somebody who doesn’t mind just sitting around and napping all day. Also, that star would need to have a pretty healthy appetite.
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
I absolutely love when they greet me at the door when I get home, even if I was only gone for 5 minutes. It makes me feel like the most-loved person in the world.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
Red peppers, lettuce, and other food.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
They do bark at other dogs that walk by, but they do get along well with other dogs and cats.
6. How does your pet feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
They absolutely hate it, and keep trying to shake the outfits off. We have a Thundershirt for when they freak out, which they both hate. We used to give them sweaters during the winter, but they’re really unhappy when we do that.
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
Yes, but only for birthday cards that are within the family.
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
A month, since my family and I went to Austria to visit family. I was younger when that happened, so I cried on the plane ride there since I missed them so much.
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
No. They’re a bit chunky, to be honest. They can run around, but they can’t play catch. All in all, they’d rather be mooching for food or sleeping, which is just fine with me.

1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
I have 2 kitties (Scout and Rascal) . They are both: SQUEE-worthy, whores for lunch meat, carry a little extra junk in the trunk, loving and have utterly different temperments from each other.
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
Scout would be Seth Rogen for sure and Rascal would be Patrick Starfish from SpongeBob.
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
Scout schnoodles his head on my feet when I’m using the toilet and Rascal lies on her back with her gigantic belly exposed, waiting for me to blow farty noises into it.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
I try not to give them anything other than cat food and deli meat treats, but I’m sure they both would refuse spaghetti.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
No. They barely get along with each other, lol.
6. How does your pet feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
I’m thinking I’d need stitches if I ever tried it, so the answer is “Not applicable”.
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
Absolutely!
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
We take several 8-9 day vacations a year and even though we have a great cat sitter, they miss us both pretty badly (as we do them).
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
If you count hauling ass when they hear the sandwich meat come out of the fridge, then yes…they are both power sprinters. My hub calls them the “thundering bunnywumpusses”!

Remarkably laid-back; her “sister” is another story…

1. How would you describe your pet in five words?
Well, I have five cats… I’ll give them one word each: Fussy. Cocky. Princess. Supermodel. Lovebug.
2. Which Hollywood star would play your pet in a movie about his/her life?
I really can’t think of anyone in Hollywood as cute as they are…
3. What’s one thing your pet does that melts your heart?
There are all sorts of things. One of the boys has a tendency to let his tongue slip out a bit and just sort of sit there wondering why we’re laughing so hard. Our little supermodel guy gets very determined to distract us from our cell phones and will basically curl up on our faces to get between us and the screen. Honestly, there are so many things, I could go on for days.
4. Are there any foods your pet refuses to eat?
They all have their preferences. The little princess is more particular than her brothers and the supermodel seems to be constantly minding his weight, but they at least want the opportunity to eat anything we have.
5. Does your pet get along with other animals?
It’s tricky enough getting them to get along with each other. The princess gets very annoyed with the two youngest ones. The eldest guy generally really likes other cats once he’s used to them.
6. How does your pet feel about cosplay, or playing dress-up?
The closest we ever got was using a cute bow barette as a fake bow-tie on one of them. Did not want.
7. Do you ever give cards on behalf of your pet?
Yes, I’ve given my mother and boyfriend cards and presents from “the kids”.
8. What’s the longest you’ve been separated from your pet?
A week from the eldest one. A few days from the younger ones, as I’ve had to travel less for work. I have to go away on two business trips in September and I’m already down about leaving them.
9. Is your pet naturally athletic?
The two youngest are. The middle two… sometimes. They’re playful more than athletic. The eldest has advanced to a ripe old age through a strict policy of not moving unless absolutely necessary.
