Any cat toy capable of coaxing a kitty supermodel senior tabby down from his penthouse suite high atop his favorite cat condo is worth adding to your cat’s collection.
The Go Cat Teaser Cat Catcher Wand Cat Toy ($8.45) doesn’t look like much. It looks a little basic, but it’s a truly revolutionary cat catching product.
It has a shiny wire instead of a string, so it’s almost indestructible, and somehow, for some reason I have yet to understand, Tabs can’t resist it.
He has a drawer filled with other cat toys, and some of them look like this with string and dangly toys or feathers, but there was only one other string toy that Tabs liked as much as this, and it wasn’t even a legit toy. It was a piece of glittery string that came wrapped around a gift box, and Tabs absolutely loved that thing…until he shredded it and tore it apart.
This one is a little expensive for one cat toy, but Tabs loves it, and I’d rather get him something he likes than a toy that will just sit in a box.
The only thing is, it’s wire and has little metal swivels to keep it from getting twisted up, so there’s a warning on the package to keep it stowed away when not in use. Little kitty claws could get caught in the metal loops, and the wire could also be dangerous, so it’s a toy that requires a personal pet trainer’s supervision.
I told Tabs that I am happy to volunteer my services, because I love seeing him spring and pounce like he used to. 🙂

Karen

I love Tabs’s look of concentration when he’s studying that teaser. Now that’s a dedicated supermodel who wants to get his exercise routine right!
Karen says
He’s all about that kitty fitness, haha!

Me, too! Love that focused intensity in his eyes

Tabs sure does look like he really enjoys this toy! So cute!

Hi Fran,
Right now it’s his favorite thing in the whole wide world (besides gravy, of course). Hope you had a wonderful Sunday. Ours was rainy and cosy!

I have one from that brand called “Da Bird” and my cat loves it, and it’s really good exercise!
Charlotte says
Da bird is much, much loved by my kitties here. It’s been irresistible to every kitty I know that has played with it, actually.

I don’t know what it is about that toy, but it’s the only toy my cat will play with too! Ever since he was little it has been his one and only. He used to carry the mouse in his mouth and bring it to me, with the cute little stick dragging behind him. Glad Tabs loves it too!

Tabs looks so handsome getting in his exercise. I’ll have to look into that toy. Nora only likes two toys. One is this rubber noodle on the end of a dowel that we picked up for a $1 at the SFSPCA when we adopted her so many years ago. The other is made up of the woven fabric handles from old Neiman’s and Nordstrom shopping bags (back when they had those handles) knotted together. Go figure. Feathers and everything else she just ignores. Well, except for the catnip filled mouse and she doesn’t really play with that, so much as lick it and chew on it until she’s a drooling, stoner mess.
How did Tabs like the storm this past weekend? Did he go out on your deck? Nora begged to go outside. She darted out once when the front door was open too long, but the minute she got to the edge of the porch and felt the rain she darted back into the house.

Look at that handsome kitty! Smolder!
I’ll have to check this out for my babies!

Great toy! Probably hours of fun! I make my own toys using straws, string, ribbons, and sticks. Cats are not too fussy.
They will pretty much play with anything.

Has Tabs been contouring? He’s looking slim! 🙂

I think he needs to spend less time on Instagram, LOL!
