After winning his gold medal in the butt showing competition this week in Rio, Tabs returned home to a hero’s welcome.
The president of his official fan club, a Ms. Connor Claire, organized the celebratory festivities, and all she asked for in return was an autograph, which Tabs was kind enough to provide.
This mat, though.
It’s supposed to be off limits to Tabs, but I can’t keep him off it! Every time I turn around, he’s right back on top of it.
Apparently, he’s all about the alphabet…
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addicts,
Karen and Tabs

Congratulations on the Gold, Tabs! Mina failed in balance beam and fell onto the couch, but she’s still a winner to us.
Ms. Connor Claire is such a sweetie. I don’t blame you for liking the alphabet mat. Are you learning to order around your assistants by spelling things out?
Tulipthecat says
Our mat like that had so many cat claw marks. The cats loved it!
Chris25 says
He wants to become CC’s private tutor. He will start with the alphabet. 😉

Tabs’ performance was mind-blowing, I don’t a cat has ever been this good at butt-showing, at least in the olympics! A well deserved gold medal, congrats!

Good morning! So I think we have finally broken the oppressive humidity on the East. It’s still going to be hot (over 90) today, but much less humidity.
Tabs and Connor Claire are quite the team. Isn’t it great when your baby can sit up and take notice of things! Each phase is such a wonder.
Be well!

Congrats to Tabs! I’m sure that having such a strong fan club has helped him to become the champion he is. 🙂 PS Great pics of them sharing the mat!

It wouldn’t have been the olympics without Tabs. Fingers crossed he will participate for many more years to come.
Jessica says
Tabs, that is YOUR mat and don’t let anyone tell you differently!!

There was a butt-showing competition in the Olympics?? Dang, I should have entered my dog, he is excellent at showing his butt LOL Maybe he could have gotten silver or bronze. Just discovered your blog. I am enjoying reading it.

All of these are so cute!

Oh Connor Clair, she is just too cute. Really beautiful. Look at those little feet and toes. And Tabs is also great. Of course. Looks like he is mentoring her really well.
Karen says
Hi Albertina,
First of all, your name is really pretty! Secondly, I’m equally obsessed with Connor Claire’s teeny, tiny toes, LOL! I’ve found that if I place my finger underneath her toes, she grabs it with them. It’s too funny.
Do you have any kids or cats?
Albertina says
I have had cats and loved them to bits, but my husband is not so fond of animals, so it was a compromise and we had kids instead (LOL).
I have a 2-year old daughter and a 4-year old son. I still can remember their baby-time and I really, really loved it. And I still love their feet and toes!
I know you aren’t the youngest mother on this earth, but rest assured, I had my babies when I was 42 and 44 without any major difficulties, and they are both healthy and doing great. It’s not something I would recommend beforehand, but just to let you know that 40 is not necessarily your “expiration date” 😉

It’s always nice to meet another mom my age! Yay!
So, baby time is THE BEST. I know she’s just going to get bigger and bigger, and I’m looking forward to it, but I wish I could pause the time so just so I can have her be a teeny, tiny thing a little bit longer.
Sometimes I wish El Hub and I started earlier (mostly because I worry that I won’t be able to keep up with her as she gets more active), but most of the time I’m glad she decided to come now, because well, I absolutely adore her! 🙂

I also wish I could somehow freeze time, to keep them in their current innocent state just a little bit longer. In a way you already know, that’s impossible, but still, it would be nice if you could prolong that feeling of innocence.
On the other hand, the whole development process itself is quite unique as you see your kid(s) develop from a crying baby to an individual with its own remarkable features (and of course some of your or your spouses characteristics) which can make you feel very, very proud.
Enjoy the process, take as much pictures as you can, and be happy with each new capability of your baby.
