I feel SO BIG! Baby Girl is getting huge. She’s 21 weeks now and doing a number on mommy’s back and feet, but things are coming along. Her ETA: early March. 🙂
Here’s just a quick update.

You’re so cute Karen, I’m so happy for you! Baby Girl sounds healthy and happy! I think when it gets closer you’ll have it narrowed down to a few names and when you see her you’ll know!
Omg karen I’m so excited for you!!! I’m 25 weeks pregnant and I’ve been reading your blog for years and it feels like a good friend is pregnant along with me!! I would love to see baby bump pics if your comfortable of course and congrats on your baby girl!!!
I think choosing names is incredibly hard! When we were looking for a name for Little Bean, we settled after one evening of discussion, but we have been debating over names for Peanut for over a month now and still have no idea.
Boys names are hard!
Yay love these videos! I have been loving banana bread too that’s so funny…well….actually I have been loving bread in all forms. I love seeing your updates and what I have to look forward to! I think at this weeks appt we get to find out if baby is a boy or a girl!
Your pregnancy glow is insane Karen!! You look gorgeous and I need to know what you’re wearing on your face here.
In particular my under eye concealer has been failing me. Baby isn’t sleeping through the night yet so the bags are loud and proud right now. Do you also use a different setting powder under the eyes?
You look so beautiful!!!! Insanely happy for you Karen!! I’ve never been pregnant so I have no idea what your going through, but it is lovely to watch/witness you going through it. God’s grace to your unborn child, and you.
My cousin and his wife were discussing names for my little cousin Dylan just up to the c section. They both had lists of names, but all the names on my cousin’s list were football players from the Detroit Lions, LOL. (And in case you don’t follow football, we’re the worst!)
Dylan is still my favorite cousin because he’s the only redhead, LOL.
It is so incredibly amazing to feel a new life growing. I remember the kicking and watching the movement as Zack developed. My husband would sing to him. We knew if it was a boy, we’d name him Zachary. We had trouble coming up with a name for a girl. I kind of settled on Rachel. Thankfully, it was a boy. Anyway, we are getting ready for the bombardment of trick-or-treaters today. It seems like there are more new families with young kids on the block as the “old-timers” move out. I hope I bought enough candy.
Happy Halloween!
Your pregnancy updates make me so happy! You are so cute, and I am so thrilled for you. My youngest baby girl turns 17 tomorrow, and you take me back to those days when we were waiting for her and dreaming of her. What an awesome journey. Not gonna lie: motherhood is hard. But it is also so so so beyond worth it. Much love to you, El Hubs, Tabs, and BABY BIRL!
Awwww, you’re past the toe touching point, congrats! Haha 🙂 And yes, agree with your husband, she’s going to be a martial artist, hah! I can’t wait to find out what name you guys will end up choosing!
You should have until you leave the hospital to pick out a name. My advice is to pick a few names you guys like and then see your child. Sometimes inspiration will strike someone else in your family and it’s the right call too.
When my mom was pregnant with my littlest brother, I knew his name was Nicolas. I just knew it in my bones. My mother hated the name. She was due in the beginging of February and I said if you make it to leap year, I name him Nicolas and you agree. She of course made the bargain because she knew she’d never make it almost a month past the due date. Well, he just didn’t want to come out. Her doctor could only induce her on the 29th. I’d been calling him Nicolas the whole time. Two hours after inducing, out he came. Everyone agreed he was a Nicolas, including the doctors and nurses.
I also named my sister, Hannah. I knew from the beginning. My parents wanted Genevieve or Emily. When she was born, they both agreed she was a Hannah.
Awwww, I love these updates. It took hubby and I forever to agree on a boy’s name for our firstborn. My hubby had all these stupid rules, such as it could only be two syllables, couldn’t be too common, couldn’t be too uncommon, etc. I was about ready to strangle him! Then we finally picked Aaron, but my uncle had his kid first…and named him “Aaron.” We went with Aaric instead. It sounds like I really need to get my hubby’s banana bread recipe for you this weekend.
Yay, super happy for you Karen! I think it’s funny that you are craving sweets (by the way, excellent craving!) and having a girl, and two of the other beauty bloggers I watch are having boys and both craving lemonade and lemons, when the old wives’ tale is that you crave sour food for boys, sweet food for girls. Probably nothing biological behind it but still interesting! I think choosing a name would be tremendously difficult! My dog didn’t have a name for a week after bringing him home from the shelter, because I changed my mind so much! Finally my friend forced me to settle on a name in order to prevent his name to defaulting to “Buddy” or “Doggie” 🙂
Looking good, my friend! I’m glad everything is going well. 🙂 Names are such fun but also (for us) there was quite a lot of negotiating. We had finally settled on them at about 6 months but approximately 2 weeks before the boys were born, the Hubs was like “I was thinking about (insert name)”. I looked at him like he had 2 heads and said “um, I’m sorry but you should have thrown that into the conversation a couple of months ago because we already DECIDED”. HAHA! FYI, his new name would NOT have mad the cut. We stuck with the hard-negotiated originals. 🙂
Aww, thanks for the update, Karen! I hope you are able to get some sleep! Now you made me hungry for banana bread…yum…baby girl has good taste regarding cravings. During the last trimester, I believe she will drop and allow you to breathe a little better. I have always been in awe of how the female body can change like that. I hope you are able to find some awesome clothes and baby stuff! For the people with no children, it is still so much fun to shop for those who do! Take care, and lots of good baby memories to you during pregnancy. Here’s to banana bread and pedicures!!
So happy to hear you both are doing great. I couldn’t breathe well either since I am short and he was long and in my ribs and lungs during the last trimester. Don’t worry about a name… I was indecisive until 45 minutes before the birth registrar’s shift ended and she suggested I pick a name or handle the matter after being discharged at city hall and while she was on the phone my hub flipped a coin to decide on the middle name.

You’re really glowing Karen! Good luck with the name game, I can only imagine how difficult it must be considering it took me weeks to name my kitty…
