You might be wondering, “So what in tarnation is this Monday Poll thing anyway!?”
Well, it isn’t exactly a poll. It’s more of a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I’ve been putting out to readers every Monday morning for the past eight (!) years. (It’s like a kickstart for your brain.) I’ve always enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I hope you enjoy reading mine.
- Is there currently anything missing from your makeup life?
Yes, ma’am! A creamy, comfortable white pencil liner that I could wear along my lower water line — one that would stay in place all day long.Oh, and it can’t pick up any black or gray from my upper lash line when I blink (which, I know, is probably an impossible request, but I want it anyway).
Right now I’m using MAC Eye Kohl in Fascinating, and it’s got the creamy, comfy part down (also doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes), but I still have to reapply it every few hours…
- How well do you handle rejection?
I think I handle it OK… I mean, nobody’s ever super awesomely overjoyed when they get rejected for something, right? But I can usually get past it and focus on what needs to get done (usually). - What time did you get to bed last night?
Between 10:30 and 11. Connor Claire was having what I call a “high needs evening” (translation: she was very fussy and crying), and it took a couple hours of high-intensity soothing to get her to sleep. She was pretty good, though, after that. I only got up once at 3:30 to feed her, and then she went back to sleep from 4:30 to 6.
- What’s your favorite accessory?
Right now I’m (still) all about this branch necklace El Hub got me for Valentine’s Day.I like that it’s a little unusual, and it goes with just about everything I ever wear. And I can layer it with longer necklaces, too, which is nice!
- What was the last meal someone cooked for you?
My parents came over yesterday and brought enough food to feed a high school marching band! I’m not even kitten you; it was a TON of food. Among other things, my mom brought a huge tub of pancit, which is this yummy Filipino noodle dish.I ended up giving most of it away to my neighbors, because there was just too much for us, and we still have leftovers.
Your turn. 🙂 Just copy and paste the following questions into a comment with your answers. I look forward to reading ’em!

1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life?
A non-itchy, non-smudgy mascara! My normal mascaras are not doing it for me right now! I have some arriving soon though…
2. How well do you handle rejection?
Very poorly!
3. What time did you get to bed last night?
I was in bed at 10, but I stayed up until 11ish looking at videos on my phone…
4. What’s your favorite accessory?
There are these wood heeled black leather sandals I bought from DSW that are amazing and super comfortable. I’m going to have to buy a backup. I also have a new crossbody purse from DSW that I love.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you?
Does takeout count? LOL I’m not sure!
I booked Quincy’s accommodations for my trip to Florida next week, he gets a 6′ x 6′ room at the facility that’s part of his vet clinic. They told me he could have a window for $5 a day but I don’t think he really needs that… He’ll be spoiled rotten and get a nice bunny vacation. The kittycats will get to stay home with Zack’s best friend or my brother checking on them.
Leah G. says
Enjoy your trip to FL! I just got back from a vacation to Orlando and Cocoa Beach. 🙂
Chelsea says
We’re going to Orlando, I’m super excited! Thanks for the well wishes!
Karen says
Hi Chelsea,
Sounds like Quincy’s going to have some nice digs! I hope he has fun being spoiled. I’m sure the kitties will also enjoy their staycation. 🙂
Have you started packing for your trip yet? Don’t leave it up to the last minute!
Chelsea says
Not yet! I bought little travel jars for my skincare. We’re doing carry on only, and the liquids limit kills me! The hotel is down the street from a Walgreen’s though, so I’ll probably pick up some of the toiletries there instead of packing (especially since I’ll need to buy a razor)
I’m getting some dresses from ModCloth this week, so hopefully they fit and I’ll pack those.
Karen says
Yeah, that’s tough. I’ve traveled a lot in the last few years and I never, ever check my luggage in, and yet that liquid limit always makes it tough. How big are your travel jars? I find that I can get a lot out of those teeny, tiny sample jars from Nordstrom.
Chelsea says
I have a number of different sizes! Some about the side of one side of a contact lens case, some a little bigger, and then some bottles for toner and things. I also have some foil samples of some of my skincare products, so I’ll bring those (and probably a sheet mask or two too).
I’ll probably pick up extra sunscreen when I’m down there, since my husband is about as fair as I am (he has a red beard too :)). He hates lotions, so I’ll have to get something not too greasy.
Karen says
My husband is the same way. Last time we went to Hawaii, he really liked the sunscreens that you spray on. They’re not too greasy and you can get ’em on quickly. The trick is to apply them first to your palms, and then work them into the skin. That way you’re sure to cover everything evenly, which isn’t always easy to do if you’re just spraying the sunscreen directly onto the skin.
Becky says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life?
You know, I am in the market for a really good primer. I feel like any one I try just doesn’t cut the mustard! Any suggestions, ladies?
2. How well do you handle rejection?
Oooh I am dreadful. I take it really personally and assume I’ve done something to offend!
3. What time did you get to bed last night?
A super-early 9pm. I was just back from a weekend in a remote village in Madagascar, so I was glad to see my makeshift bed instead of a dirt floor!
4. What’s your favorite accessory?
I have this cute little raspberry-red leather cross body bag which looks expensive, but cost me about £4 in a craft sale. I love it and everyone always asks where it’s from!
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you?
My very lovely friend in the village cooked me some zebu and rice yesterday. A bit left-field, but really tasty!

Karen says
Hi Becky,
What kind of primer are you looking for? One for the face or the eyelids?
Becky says
Hi Karen!
I’m looking for a face primer. Eyes-wise I’m a NARS pro prime devotee!
Efrain says
If you’re looking for a face primer maybe you should take a look to the TBS Vitamin C radiance booster, they sell it as a serum but is a brightening primer.
Becky says
Ooh Thankyou Efrain, I’ll look out for that one!
Lancy says
Loved reading your answers, Karen! I really hope you’re having a great time with your new little girl! I’m still trying to go to sleep before the clock hits 11 but I’m totally messed up with my sleep routine.
It’s adorable that your mom did bring you food! 🙂 I’m now googling about the noodle dish you were talking about! (Pancit?!) It’s stirring my hunger hormone right now!
Karen says
Thanks, Lancy! Have a great week and I hope you sleep better.
Lulle says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life?
A concealer that doesn’t make my undereyes cakey. I don’t know what’s going on but my undereyes have been looking horribly dry whatever concealer I try to wear for the past couple of months.
2. How well do you handle rejection?
Hmm not too well I think? I mean it depends where it comes from. If it’s from people I care about then definitely not well. If it’s from random strangers, or being turned down for a job, I feel the pinch of disappointment bruising my ego and then I move on.
3. What time did you get to bed last night?
Around 1.
4. What’s your favorite accessory?
I’m really not much into accessories, but I would say the last handbag I bought, a crossbody bag in a bright jade green color.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you?
Last night we went to friends and had a whole meal cooked for us, consisting of steak and veggies!
Hope you all have a great week! May Gray has definitely started here, so it’s very cloudy every morning but the sun usually comes out in the afternoon.
Karen says
Hi Lulle,
Ugh, I know what you mean about undereye issues! I’ve been dealing with the same thing, even with my beloved Make Up For Ever HD Concealer. I’ve gone back to an old school combo lately and I’m pretty happy with it because it’s not cakey at all! I use Trish McEvoy’s Instant Eye Lift in Shade 2 (you might be Shade 1) under my eyes, and then I apply the sheerest layer of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder to set it. Then I tap a little bit of Trish McEvoy Liner refiner on top to help mellow every thing out. It’s not a full coverage (more like medium coverage), but it looks very natural and doesn’t look cakey! Let me know if you have any questions about it…
Efrain says
Which eye cream are you using? I know people say the Bobbi Brown Extra works wonder and also the Kiehl’s avocado one.
Also if everything looks dry or cakey after makeup put moisturizer on top, that’s what I do when a foundation it’s too matte or mix it with highlighter, MAC Lustre drops are quite emollient.
Karen says
Efrain, you bring up a good point. Eye cream makes a huge difference. I’ve concealer seems to sit better on some eye creams and not-so-great on others.
And mixing is a great idea. I used to mix a little bit of MAC Essential Oil into concealer to sheer it out a little bit. Works wonders!
Allison says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life?
I *was* missing a blue-green eyeliner, but I bought one on the weekend so I’m pretty much all set.
2. How well do you handle rejection?
Average – I don’t like it and sometimes I dwell on it too much, but I’ve gotten better about learning from it and not personalizing it
3. What time did you get to bed last night?
9pm. I know that sounds crazy early but I usually read for a bit to wind down, and I’m up early in the morning.
4. What’s your favorite accessory?
I got a beautiful necklace last year for my birthday; my husband commissioned it from a friend of mine who’s a jeweler. It has a map of the country on it with semi-precious stones marking my birthplace and current home. It’s not an everyday piece but it’s thoughtful and meaningful and beautifully made, so I love it.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you?
I’m spoiled – I have dinner made for me every night. My husband is an excellent cook!
Karen says
Hi Allison,
Seriously 9 pm is not early! In my dream world I’d be in bed at 9 every night, LOL!
By the way, you’re so lucky to have your hubby cook for you every night.
Dollie says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life? – A colour corrector. Haven’t jumped onto the colour correcting bandwagon yet but my dark circles say that perhaps it’s time I did.
2. How well do you handle rejection? – Very well I think. Tbh, I’ve done most of the rejecting in my teens though 😉
3. What time did you get to bed last night? – 4:30am! My 5 year old son was howling in his sleep and complaining of leg ache…Growing pains perhaps or just too much running around in the summer holidays.
4. What’s your favorite accessory? – My Michael Kors cat eye sunglasses. With the heat in this Indian summer, you can’t step out without sunglasses.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you? – Now I really can’t remember that. Being a mom and living with in-laws, I cook everyday 🙁
Karen says
Hi Dollie,
Have you tried Trish McEvoy? I love her under eye color corrector, “Instant Eye Lift Shade 2.” It’s a peachy orange, and it cancels out dark circles fabulously. Plus it doesn’t settle into my fine lines!
Efrain says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life?
Base products, I’m in a moment where I want that effortless no makeup look on skin (the combo I spotted was MAC F&B with Studio finish concealer) but I also want something full coverage for parties.
2. How well do you handle rejection?
I won’t tell you I don’t have problems with it but since I got rejected for three scholarships I think I now handle it well.
3. What time did you get to bed last night?
1 AM, I had to sign up to my French course, the platform opened at 12 AM but I was able to do it until that hour.
4. What’s your favorite accessory?
My black messenger bag, is small enough to be handy and it also can keep a lot of stuff.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you?
Mom and dad yesterday for breakfast, fried bananas, black beans and scrambled eggs with chorizo.
Karen says
Hi Efrain,
IF you like that effortless no makeup look you might like the MAC’s Matchmaster Shade Intelligence Compact (it’s their cushion compact foundation). I apply it with a dual fiber brush over a little bit of Sephora’s Future Gel Serum Concealer and get that effortless look. Set with a little bit of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder and I’m good! If you want to build it up, just layer on more concealer underneath. 🙂
BTW that breakfast sounds delicious, yum!
Efrain says
I think Sephora concealer isn’t available here or at least I haven’t spotted it at my local Sephora neither in the website (BTW the Mexican side is awful as hell). About the MAC cushion foundation it sounds so interesting but doing the math is pricier than any other of their foundation as the refill with 15ml costs the same than the Studio Fix which has 30ml, so unless the results are out of this world I’d skip.
I still need to try the MSF, I’m in a foundation quest because I want to buy some base products as a self-birthday present. I still haven’t bought the Revlon one that could be my full coverage foundation.
And yes the breakfast was delicious (I ended up putting all in a torta with cheese, I know food porn) a very south-Mexican/Caribbean style.
Karen says
A comparable concealer is Urban Decay’s concealer. Something like NARS Pure Radiant would work well too (just use very little of it since it tends to be concentrated).
You will LOOOOOVE Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. I’m guessing you’re a Medium Tan (I wear Medium Golden). It’s on the sheerer side so it’s very natural-looking, and I like that it’s not too heavily matte. Very skin like.
Efrain says
If Medium tan is on the yellow side then it’s likely to be my match. Must try it on my next visit to the counter.
Off-topic: on Saturday I did my brows and I’m pretty happy with the results ?
Karen says
Medium Tan has more of a reddish undertone; you might be closer to a Medium Golden. Try both and see which one sits on your skin best next time you go to the counter.
Ooh, good for you for doing your own brows! Did you pluck? Wax?
And have you heard anything back from your job interviews?
Efrain says
I plucked them, I’m afraid I’d make a mess with wax and even with plucking I made a mistake in my left arch, nothing bad I think I’m the only one able to see it.
I haven’t heard anything from Kiehl’s, at least if I’m not getting the job I’ll invest my time by taking some uni classes in order to advance faster.
Nicole - paleandfreckled says
Nothing sticks to my waterline except the Colourpop mechanical liner in Cry Baby which is a light lavender. It wears freakishly well! Might try out their white, it’s certainly easy on the budget!
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life? A foundation that I can apply with fingers, doesn’t settle into my pores or look dry on my cheeks, that matches my cool yellow NC5 neck and doesn’t need me to jump through hoops to get it to stay on my nose without turning patchy later in the day. Surely a small and reasonable request! 😉
2. How well do you handle rejection? Can I say I don’t have a ton of experience with it, but it depends on the context. Work related rejection is easier and i can handle it okay, rather than personal.
3. What time did you get to bed last night? Dunno if it’s the 4 month sleep regression or his cold or the eczema but the last 2 nights have been quite literally torture. Barely 3.5 hours the night before last and last night I didn’t get any sleep until 1am and it was only 20 minutes. He wasn’t hungry but he just kept waking up after 5-10 minutes. I got another 40 minutes a bit after that and finally at 3:30am I got to sleep until 7:45am. Good f’ing grief.
4. What’s your favorite accessory? My wedding band because I can always leave it on.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you? My husband is doing more cooking since that time is often when the 4 month old wants to eat. Yesterday was a joint effort, he grilled some ham while I made biscuits and broccoli.
Karen says
Hi Nicole,
Thanks for the recommendation! Is the liner a pencil kohl or more like a silky gel? For some reason gel liners dry out my waterlines like crazy!
I’m so sorry that it’s been so rough for the both of you. Hopefully it’ll get better soon (that’s what I have to keep telling myself when Connor is extra “high needs” and I start to feel a little cray). BTW, and ERHMAHGAHHH! — I’ve never heard of four month sleep regression. Just looked it up and now I’m freaked out!
Nicole - paleandfreckled says
The formula is a little funny, almost a tad.. tacky. Their potted gel liners aren’t my favorite, you can’t spread them out as a base like you can with most cream/gels. But I think it’s that “just creamy enough to be easy to apply but dry enough that it doesn’t go on too thickly but also a little sticky” formula that works so well for me. I was doing a foundation test check-in after 9 hours this weekend and the liner was still intact without looking crazy and patchy like gel liner does for me on the waterline. I do wonder if it might be a little too dry for you. I have fairly sensitive waterlines but this is one of the few liners I can wear without my eyes feeling teary and my face feeling a little sweaty all day.
Hopefully Connor won’t have a rough time at 4 months, Colin never had any major sleep regressions! I always knew Colin was an easy baby, but wow. Erik is doing a great job at making me appreciate just how easy he was. 🙂
Nicole - paleandfreckled says
To clarify it’s the mechanical pencils I prefer. Hopefully they fixed the issues with them breaking. Mine all broke but I’m still able to use them, just have to carefully take the cap off to avoid eyeliner chunks flying across the room. That’s sleep deprivation talking!
Karen says
Pencil gel liners do the same thing on my waterlines (go patchy), so I think this might work for me. YAY! Gonna check that shade out.
Fingers crossed that Connor will be able to skip the four month regression thing. She’s mostly a good sleeper, so I’m hoping she continues to be relatively easy (knock on wood). How old is your oldest, btw?
Nicole - paleandfreckled says
Colin will be 3 in August! Hard to believe it’s only a few months away now. 🙂
Karen says
GURL, I don’t know how you do it. I can’t imagine having to balance an infant and a three year old at the same time!
Nicole - paleandfreckled says
I was mildly terrified, haha 🙂 amazing what you can do when you have no other choice! It’s not as hard as I had feared, but I had gotten accustomed to our schedule so it’s been difficult having most days where my only break from 8am-midnight is 25 minutes of TV and a quick shower. We had issues with a late bedtime with Colin too (I’m a night owl). Once we can get that closer to 8pm, I think I’ll be able to breathe again.
Leah G. says
Hi Karen,
Today’s my first day back at work after vacation (we were in FL last week). I’m having a tough time adjusting being back to real life.
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life? I can’t think of anything right now but I do want to try those new Burt’s Bee’s lipsticks.
2. How well do you handle rejection? Not well at all. 🙁
3. What time did you get to bed last night? Around 11pm. That’s our normal. We wake up at 7am.
4. What’s your favorite accessory? A silver necklace that my Mom made me in a silver-making class that she took. It has a Celtic design on the pendant.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you? Last week on vacation all of our meals were out so that was a treat where someone else was always cooking for us. Last night we made meatloaf wrapped in bacon (yum!) together so that was tasty.
Karen says
Hi Leah,
That first day back from vacay is the hardest, ugh! It’s a shock to the system returning to the real world, isn’t it? If only vacation could be every day, le sigh. Where did you go and what did you do in Florida? Tell me all about it so I can vicariously live through you (it’s been ages since I’ve taken a proper trip).
Leah G. says
Hi Karen!
We went to Orlando and went to Universal (Harry Potter World–yay!) and also to Epcot. While in Epcot we had lunch in Mexico (tasty and excellent margaritas). We had dinner in France. We went on to Cocoa Beach and stayed right on the beach. It was cold and rainy back home so this was a treat. We visited a friend in Vero Beach and got to see a Space X launch (that was a big reason for the trip). So cool!! 🙂
Allison C says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life? I’m sure there is but I don’t know about it coz I’ve got so darn much. LOL, I want to try the new UD lipsticks!!
2. How well do you handle rejection? not well, I perseverate and go over and over again what happened. It’s a sickness really
3. What time did you get to bed last night? 1AM
4. What’s your favorite accessory? a silk & velvet scarf I bought in SF many years ago
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you? Hmm, I think Jeff cooked something for me for dinner not long ago but can’t remember what it was! Hope you had a wonderful first Mother’s Day, Karen!
Karen says
Hi Allison!
OK, I just had to look up “per·sev·er·ate.” Thank you for teaching me a new word. Woo hoo, vocabulary!
Oh, and thank you for the nice Mother’s Day wish. It
wasn’twas a wonderful first one!Allison C says
That’s psychologist lingo, sorry about that! And I’m sorry to hear that Mother’s Day was lacking. Hopefully, next year when baby is older xoxo
Karen says
Oh, that darn auto-correct. I just realized I wrote “wasn’t” when I meant was. It was a wonderful first one, GAH! I spent it with my family, so it was great. My mom brought food over and we watched a couple movies. Super chill and very fun.
Perseverate is a something that I do often. See, I just used my new vocabulary word. 🙂
Allison C says
Karen, I’m so glad that it was an “autocorrect error”! So happy that you had a great day xoxo
Heather L says
1. Yes! I’m dying to pick up the NARS summer collection (love it!), but am impatiently forced to wait until I have my paycheck! I’ve got my eye on the MAC Vibe Tribe collection as well!
2. Grudge for life!
3. Around 3:00am
4. My Michael Kors purse – so practical and fashionable at the same time!
5. Does takeout count….? Otherwise, “years.”
Karen says
LOL, Heather, takeout totally counts! 🙂
Hope you had a nice Monday. Did you do anything fun over the weekend?
Rachel R. says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life? The perfect brow color/product.
2. How well do you handle rejection? I’m a big girl; I get over it.
3. What time did you get to bed last night? 2 a.m. (insomniac and night owl)
4. What’s your favorite accessory? Leopard print flats. I’m under the delusion that they go with everything.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you? Last night my hubby made Sloppy Joes with bourbon sauce and homemade French fries. YUM!!
Karen says
Hi Rachel,
It’s not a delusion that leopard print flats go with everything. It’s the truth, LOL! I have a pair that I got last year that I swear go with every outfit I own.
Your hubby is quite the cook, isn’t he? I’ll always be thankful for that banana bread recipe of his that you shared. SO GOOD!
Happy Monday to ya. 🙂
Rachel R. says
My hubby is a great cook! I’ll have to get you his waffle recipes.
I hope you had a wonderful first Mother’s Day, and that you got spoiled rotten.
Karen says
I would love that! My birthday is coming up so I’m thinking about asking for a waffle iron. LOL!
This very first Mother’s Day was super chill and everything I could ever want. El Hub brought me breakfast from a local diner that I love (pancakes, eggs over easy and hash browns), and then my family came over and hung out. My mom brought a huge amount of food so we all chowed down, and then we played with the baby and watched a couple movies.
I hope you had a good one too! What did you guys do yesterday?
Stephanie Smith says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life? I really want a bb cream that does what it says. The ones I’ve tried are heavier than I want or don’t diffuse the problems that I want. The lying has got to go!
2. How well do you handle rejection? Crappy. I hate it. But I don’t really get rejected very often.
3. What time did you get to bed last night? I was in bed at 10:30, but still awake at 11:00. I don’t like going to bed that late because I get up at 5:30. Tonight, it’s 9:30!
4. What’s your favorite accessory? I have a necklace my husband got me that has both of our daughter’s names on it. It’s very very simple and I’m into that.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you? Hmmmm, our friend made jambalaya a couple of months ago. I do the cooking in my family.
Karen says
Hi Stephanie,
Have you tried the MAC Lightful C Tinted Cream SPF 30? It’s one of my favorites for the summer months. Here’s a review I did of it a while back:

Sara says
Hi Karen! Hope you had a happy first Mother’s Day:) been meaning to thank you for the recommendation for that Kate spade wristlet you posted about a while back. I ended up finding it new on eBay and got it. I was looking forever for the perfect wristlet to use since handbags will be a thing of the past when I start using a diaper bag soon! Everything was either too small or too big but this is literally perfect. I love it!
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life? The perfect bb cream. I alternate between the it cosmetics cc cream and the Clinique acne solutions bb cream. Both are good but wish I could take things from each of them to create the perfect formula!
2. How well do you handle rejection?
Pretty well. I’ve learned that through working for myself and have gotten really good at it haha
3. What time did you get to bed last night?
1030 ish but slept horrible. I’m 39 weeks pregnant so sleeping isn’t my favorite thing right now between being so uncomfortable and waking up sweating is a new thing!
4. What’s your favorite accessory?
I haven’t been wearing much lately.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you? Never haha I’m the cook!
Karen says
Hi Sara,
Thank you so much! It was a wonderful first Mother’s Day. 🙂
Yay, I’m glad you were able to find the wristlet! Isn’t it wonderful? I used it the other day when I took Connor out in her baby carrier.
Wait…aren’t you due this week?!
Did you
Sara says
Sunday! I’m just waiting impatiently for this little girl to arrive:) I’m so excited (and equally terrified haha)
Karen says
I hope labor and delivery goes smoothly for you! You’re going to do great.

I didn’t work today, so it was about 11:40ish.
4. What’s your favorite accessory?
Heart shaped promise ring from my boyfriend.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you?
My mom made chorizo with eggs this morning. It was delicious!
Karen says
Hi Lupe,
If you ever find a good brightening eyeliner, please let me know.
BTW, what kind of work do you do?
Erin says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life?
Quite a few things! I need the same pencil and also a mascara I can afford that creates curl, volume, and a hint of length.
2. How well do you handle rejection?
Depends on the situation.
3. What time did you get to bed last night?
I got in bed at 12:45 am. Took a long time for fall asleep. Tons of bad stuff going on and it’s only increased today with my phone being stolen out of my pocket at the store.
4. What’s your favorite accessory?
One of the new necklaces I got from my husband for my anniversary/v-day.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you?
My husband made frozen pizza back in December. He’s been gone since and it’s been all me! Unless you count the occasional take out food I pick up from the Mexican place.
Paula says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life?
A setting/finishing powder that adds radiance without settling into and/or emphasizing fine lines and wrinkles.
2. How well do you handle rejection?
Hmmm…I guess pretty well! I just figure they are idiots and that they just don’t understand what they are missing by not knowing me and having me in their life.
3. What time did you get to bed last night?
Sometime between 3 and 3:30 and then I read for another hour. I am such a night person!
4. What’s your favorite accessory?
Earrings, Shoes, and Handbags – it’s a tie
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you?
My hubby! He made a Pot Roast with Potatoes & Carrots in the crockpot and a Salad. Does the Crockpot really count as cooking? LOL!!
Kwmechelle says
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life? A really good, long-wearing, brown-almost-black eyeliner for my waterline. Currently, I’m using Darkside by UD, and while I lurves the color & how creamy it is, it doesn’t last long on my waterline. I’ve heard good things about the Marc Jacobs eyeliners & their longevity & staying power, but I’ve yet to find the exact color I’m looking for in his line up. MUFE released a whole new lineup (get it?) recently. Maybe I’ll give one of them a go.
2. How well do you handle rejection? Hmm, I guess about as good as any. I think I take longer to bounce back if the rejection feels really painful when I’ve had my hopes up really high, but I always do. Kinda resilient that way.
3. What time did you get to bed last night? I think around 11 EST?
4. What’s your favorite accessory? I’ve got two. I have two dainty necklaces I ordered from Stella & Dor & I swear they go with everything! Btw- love S&D! One is an infinity cross & the other is a gold bar with the word “po*ie*ma” inscribed in it. It means “God’s poem”. I often layer them with longer necklaces or chunky pieces, but they always make a statement.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you? Tomato soup. Yum, yum! 🙂

Hope you had a wonderful first Mother’s Day.
1. Is there currently anything missing in your makeup life? Organization. I have a moderate amount of makeup, but can never find anything due to my lack of organizing skills. Oh, I’d still like to find my holy grail foundation. The one that matches my coloring perfectly, looks like skin, blurs the pores and fine lines and doesn’t settle into those fine lines and pores.
2. How well do you handle rejection? Not very well, at all.
3. What time did you get to bed last night? Around 10:30 or 11, which is early for me.
4. What’s your favorite accessory? My Tiffany Elsa Peretti bone cuff in sterling. It was my Christmas present from my Dear Husband.
5. What was the last meal someone cooked for you? Well, my daughter said she would make me Mother’s Day dinner, but she didn’t. So we ended up with a last minute, frantic search to find a place to eat that still had seats available. She swears she will spend the night and make me breakfast before the end of the month. She had better make waffles to make up for dropping the ball on dinner.
