You might be wondering, “So what in tarnation is this Monday Poll thing anyway!?”
Well, it isn’t exactly a poll. It’s more of a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I’ve been putting out to readers every Monday morning for the past seven years. (It’s like a kickstart for your brain.) I’ve always enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I hope you enjoy reading mine.
- Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
A bit of both. When I have a party or something to go to and an outfit already picked out, I’ll usually have an idea for the makeup I want to wear with it, so I’ll do a little planning…Or if I know that I want to try a new look or take a new palette out for a test run, I’ll plan around doing it on a certain day, and I’ll just have a general idea of my game plan.
But on an average, random weekday when I don’t really have anything going on, I’ll wing it.
- Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
Even though I’ve had skinny jeans practically plastered on my lower half for years now, I think wide-legged pants are super cute, so yeah, I think they’re a do, especially if you have cute shoes that peek out the front. But the thing is, you’ve gotta have a hem that falls juuuuuuust right; otherwise, it can look a little weird. And yes, I know this from personal experience…
Girl, I could write VOLUMES about all of my fashion faux pas!
- When you text, do you use punctuation?
Most of the time yeah I figure why would you skip it it’s even more confusing if you leave it out and if you’re going to take the time to text someone something you might as well add a few commas and a period or two so the person you’re texting doesn’t have to read the same sentence over and over again until they can understand what you’re trying to say although I do have to admit there are moments when speed trumps clarity like when you’re sending one-liners to your brother or correcting a mistake so I’ll skip a period here and there please don’t tell the grammar police 🙂LOL!
- How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
Aw, mom! Why you gotta be a party pooper? My mom told me when I was pretty young. I think I must have been in kindergarten…or maybe it was first grade.
Whenever it was, I was young, but since I was also stubborn, I absolutely refused to accept Mom’s blasphemy, so when she told me, I told her that she was making the whole thing up and that I was still going to believe in Santa anyway. So I wrote him letters and left out a plate of cookies and a glass of milk every Christmas Eve until I was in the fourth grade.
At that point, I guess I accepted it/figured it out…
- What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
There are a couple currently on Ye Olde Wish List, like a lash curler (the Shu Uemura curler I’ve had for ages finally sailed off into the sunset) and a Beautyblender, because, WAH! — I lost the black one I recently bought. 🙁I suspect that Tabs had something to do with the disappearance…
Your turn. 🙂 Just copy and paste the following questions into a comment with your answers. I look forward to reading ’em!
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
Great Caesar’s ghost, I can’t even believe it’s December 14th already! I still have so much Christmas-sy stuff to do, but I’ve been hella distracted lately.
I just have to keep reminding myself to take one step at a time (baby steps!). I’m in one of those phases where the sheer size of my to-do list is completely overwhelming me. When I get like this, I basically have to accept that there’s no way I’m gonna finish everything, but that sort of frees me to focus on one task at a time.
Hopefully. LOL! We’ll see how it goes.
You have a great day today, my friend. I hope to see you in the comments.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Stephanie says
Here’s hoping you have a great day too. 🙂 December is certainly dragging me, and I’ve been looking forward to the Monday Poll all weekend.
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
If by “plan” you mean “start daydreaming about it in advance”, then yes! Just because I enjoy the part of playing with the combinations in my mind.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
I have no idea. I’m stuck right now on “pants are bad” and trying to figure out how to extend the wear of all my summer dresses to winter.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Absolutely. 🙂 Maybe not a period at the VERY end, but I figure I get super confused without punctuation, so I better use it for me and the recipient.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
I’m not sure! I figured out that it was my mom’s handwriting on the packages pretty young… It wasn’t devastating though, I was never big on Christmas or Santa Claus.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
I’d like to say a Beauty Blender but I don’t have one. I want one of those! My blush brush is not doing the trick lately though (cheap e.l.f. one, shrug), so I could use a nicer version of that. And a different brush for my highlighter. I’m loving highlighter lately (the Too Faced Candlelight Glow Duo!) but it’s tricky to put on with the random assortment of brushes I have.
Also, if there is a Santa, can I have $200 for makeup this month please? It’s been such a stressful time and I just want some new makeup therapy…
Shelby Pate says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
I like to just wing it. I am a very spur-of-the-moment personso when I sit down at my makeup table i just grab what I think will look good
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
A dont for me they just dont flatter my body type
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Sometimes, it depends on who I am texting.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
10… my mom told me santa, the tooth fairy, and the easter bunny werent real all at the same time
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
My Beautyblender… I use it like crazy
Shannon says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
I usually have an idea of what I’m doing, though I leave a little freedom as to how to get there.. Kind of like deciding your going to make a certain dish for dinner, but improvise in certain parts to give it your own little flair 🙂
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
A do, for me! I think they can look great – though they tend to look best with some length, I think, so I like to wear them with heels.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
It depends. If I’m texting in full sentences, then yes – but I often leave off the period at the end. I actually read an article recently that said folks who put periods at the end of their texts seem more severe/less kind! So now that’s in my brain…
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
Y’know, I honestly don’t ever remember legitimately believing in Santa. But my parents wrote us letters from “St. Nicholas” until we all left the house, basically. It was a very special little ritual. And now I give myself gifts from Santa, lol! My husband thinks I am very odd for doing this 🙂
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
My blush brush, man. It’s definitely seen better days. But for some reason it’s been hard for me to shop for a new one!
I hear you on the to-do list, Karen… I still need to get gifts for basically everyone in my family! Plus I’ve been recording & posting daily videos of Christmas music this month.. which is super fun but MAN is it time-consuming – like 2-3 hours every single night. Right now I don’t have time to make dinner, much less go shopping! Ah well. I did manage to get the tree up this weekend, so that’s one important thing DONE. 🙂 Now I feel appropriately festive and like everything will be okay, lol!
Rachel R. says
Good morning!
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it? Most days I just wing it, but sometimes I plan. If I have a new acquisition I want to play with, I may plan a look in advance. I usually plan looks for events in advance. Sometimes I even do a dress rehearsal for important events.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t? It depends how wide, but I’ll say “do.”
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? Usually. I’m not the world’s greatest texter, though, so I make lots of typos.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real? Ten. My dad had deserted mom & us five kids the summer before, and that first Christmas Eve, my mother suddenly goes, “You know Santa’s not real, right?” I played it cool and said “yes,” but I didn’t. That’s when she gave me the news that staying up late on Christmas Eve and decorating our free tree, wrapping what gifts we had, and putting together anything with “some assembly required,” was from then on my responsibility as the oldest child.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace? This is really embarassing, but … My hairdryer. It’s the same Conair hairdryer I bought my senior year of high school. I replaced the cord once back in college, but I’ve rarely used it since big hair went out of style. It still works great, but I’m sure hairdryer technology has come a long way since 1988.
Christine says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
It’s more like I’m planning what to eat for breakfast as I’m winging my makeup look. ;-D
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
A do: if the waist is tailored and set at the natural waist (+ appropriate long pant leg length), not below the natural waist. If you look at pics from the 40s & even 70s, they’re all at the natural waist–it feels higher than what we’re used to as our “natural waist” but if adds inches to your legs & creates a flattering line.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Yes. OCD much?!
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
5 ;’-(
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
Amazingly–NOTHING. O____o
Do you use Trello? Check it out! It’s awesome for projects, to-do lists, getting life in order. I love it so much.
Happy Holidays! Maligayang Pasko!
Jessica says
As soon as I know what I am wearing, I decide on my makeup. 🙂
Jennifer says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it? I tend to stick with the same daily makeup uniform but if I have a special event, which is becoming rarer every year, then I might plan it out in advance.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t? They are cute but I’m way too short. I think if you’re 5’2 or under, wide-legged is a don’t.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? always
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real? I was 7 or 8 and it was terribly upsetting. my parents handled it horribly. i still haven’t forgiven them. seriously.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace? my beauty blenders.I had two and then they both mysteriously disappeared. I think that Paco Rabanne had something to do with it but he’s pleading the fifth. Sephora has some sort of makeup set that includes a beauty blender right now for not much more than the blender itself that I’m pondering. But I don’t think I would use the stuff in the kit. But, it’s only been a few days and I’m really struggling without it. My makeup just does not look the same without a beauty blender.
Allison C says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it? pretty much wing it
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t? I have worn wide-legged pants during the times when they were in style and that seems like a bunch of times already. Frankly, they’re not my fave but I have done it and I’m sure there are still several pairs in my closet 😉
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? I use exclamation points and question marks otherwise no
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real? I can’t remember!
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace? right now, nothing because I just replaced my lash curler that needed to be replaced
Heather L says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
The only thing I have “planned” is: conservative makeup for work and anything-goes for any other time! Other than that, I wing it based on how I feel that day. Certain looks and colors seem to go with certain feelings.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
Definitely a “do.”
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Yes – I edit and proofread for a living so I can’t help it – I spell out everything and always use proper punctuation and grammar!
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
I don’t remember how old – but it was the year I found my presents “secretly” stashed in my parents’ closet…
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
My manual brush cleaner tools… I don’t have the time or willpower to use them as often as I should. I am dying to have the new electric one you place your brushes in and it cleans them for you. Christmas wish list #1!!!
Meghan says
Happy Monday, Karen and everyone!
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
Oh, I wing it. I think the only time I planned a look in advance was my wedding day. I’m pretty sure I bolt out the door every morning in a makeup look that doesn’t really go together, but, hey.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
Styled (and hemmed, yes!) right, they’re a do.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Mostly, yes. I recently saw an article on Mashable that if you use periods in your texts, people on the receiving end are more inclined to think you’re a jerk, but I’m all about proper punctuation.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
I don’t even remember! I probably believed longer than most kids my age because my brother is four years younger, but I can’t place it on the timeline.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
Not replace, but just buy – a fan brush! And it’s crazy, but fan brushes are outta stock everywhere! Or maybe just the two I was most interested in on Sephora’s site, but they are gone. I’ve been watching a lot of Tati on YouTube lately and after so many times watching her highlight her cheekbones with a fan brush, I am determined to add one to my collection. It will be mine – oh, yes.
Have a great week, y’all!
Holly says
I just looked at fan brushes today at Michael’s craft store; I don’t know if that’s an option you would be interested in? I’ve picked up a couple teeny doe’s foot & almond shaped brushes for gel liners & lipstick. I like them a lot.
Meghan says
Oh, thanks for the tip! I never think to look at craft stores. Maybe I’ll pop by there today! Thanks again, Holly!
Barb says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
Just like you, if I have a party I’m going to, I’ll plan my makeup accordingly but my day to day look is pretty much winging it everyday.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
Definitely a DO! I’m a curvy kinda gal and the wide-legged trouser gives me a more uniform look.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Almost always, yes! It’s a pet peeve of mine when people don’t use it!
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
My cousin told me and I’m gonna say probably around second grade. I was devastated!
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
Would love to get some high quality brushes and I too need a new eyelash curler.
Have a great day!!
Chelsea says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
I usually wing it!
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
Do on other people, don’t on me.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? Mostly! Capitalization, not so much.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real? 8 or so? Apparently my brother figured it out at age 4 because he noticed Santa and my mom had the same handwriting.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
Hmm, probably a new eyeliner brush! None of mine are very good.
Efrain says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
Most of the time I wing them, but for parties I have a normal ritual the only thing I change is blush and brows.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
Oh yes but you have to be sure oh you look with them, I think they’re sometimes sassier than a dress.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Most of the time, I hate and criticize people that don’t because it’s harder to understand.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
I was 11, my cousin told me but like you I rejected what she told and for one more year I was in denial.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
Brushes, I left them with a gal in her bag and we haven’t met to get both. (She also has one of my blush palletes :'( )
Today is my mom’s birthday and even though I haven’t showered I need to get ready to go for lunch with her we’re between Italian food or wings, burgers and beer.
Holly says
Hi Efrain! I’ve been keeping an eye out for you (which makes me sound like a stalker; I’m not, promise) because I wanted to know how the pride parade was?
Efrain says
Hi Holly!
Don’t worry I don’t think you’re a stalker, when I posted a photo of it on Instagram I asked Karen if you had a profile but she may forgot about it.
It was good, even though it rained dogs and cats, so I ended up so wet and cold; at least I had another shirt and a sweater with me.
About the lippie I bought NYX Licorice and when doing layers it becomes a gorgeous dark burgundy color but I applied quickly just before the parade and it looked in photos more of a magenta (if you haven’t look at it on my Instagram account: @efradiario).
How are you doing? Is it everything OK where you live?
Holly says
Hi! I found & followed you on Instagram; I’m @niteowlchef. I’ll go back & look at all your pics now & I really love the lipcolor in the one I looked at real quick. It’s cold & rainy here but I’m doing well, thanks. I’m done with Christmas shopping as I just buy for my 2 nephews & 4 nieces & my grandma. I hope all’s well with you!
Leah G. says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it? I just reach into my makeup bucket. I keep my makeup in my home office so I can do my makeup in front of the full length mirror. That way I can see without glasses (the bathroom mirror is too far from my face with the sink there). 🙂
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t? I prefer regular width trouser pant legs.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? I do. I also type words out in full (or select the word when my iPhone gives me the selection as I’m typing).
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real? I’m not sure but I do remember my Dad making tracks in the backyard like Santa’s sleigh had landed. He used his cross country skis. It was great!
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace? It’s not a tool but it’s a staple for me. My Benefit Dandelion powder is nearly out.
LindaLibraLoca says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
Most days I just wing it, unless I am working on a specific look for a blog post.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
A do. Never got into the whole skinny jeans thing.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Yes. My mother was a teacher, I can´t stand seeing text without punctuation.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
I don’t remember ever believing in him, to be honest.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
My BeautyBlender. It is literally falling apart.

1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
I never really plan a makeuo look because I’m boring haha I always wear the same stuff!
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
Love them but not on me
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Eh I guess it depends. I would say yes, most of the time.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
Gosh I can’t even remember. Maybe around the 4th grade?
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
Hm I don’t think I have one. All of them are in pretty good shape!
Happy Monday Karen! How you feeling? I’m currently sitting on the couch with the herbal hug wrap around my neck that you recommended. I picked it up while I was out shopping today. I love it! I can’t believe Christmas is next week, and that day I will also be halfway through my pregnancy! I felt her move for the first time last week. So cool:) Time is flying, I bet even more so for you!
Erin says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
If I’m not testing out a product for my blog, I wing it!
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
A major do! I love wide legs regardless of body type!
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Usually. Unless it’s a one word or short sentence fragment. I’m old school.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
I knew as long as I could remember. My parents were in a very cult like church when I was young so I all up on everyone’s tits about “idolatry” if they mentioned him or displayed any images of him.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
I’m sure the pads on my lash curler but I use them so infrequently, I haven’t bothered to do it. I need to add a lot of tools though. I need a BB and a few more eye brushes. AH! I need a new lip brush! Mine cracked! I’d almost forgotten!
nia says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it? I always plan ahead…from my makeup down to my shoes, but, that certainly doesn’t mean I always go with that look. But it’s always fun to dream!
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t? DO! Always do!
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? The English major in me wouldn’t have it any other way.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real? What do you mean he’s not real?????
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace? My Beauty Blender. From washing and squeezing, it’s fallen apart.
Lulle says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
I usually improvise, unless I’m going to a party or important event. In that case I’ll think about it in advance.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
Absolute do. In a world of skinny pants they look even more appealing than ever!
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
I use punctuation, proper grammar and spelling (to the best of my abilities…). idk y any1 wouldnt
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
Honestly I don’t remember when or how I figured out there was no Santa. I guess my brother told me but I have no recollection of that particular event.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
My eyelash curler has seen better days!
I hear you about not being ready for Christmas! I have done almost zero shopping (and somehow my online orders keep getting messed up these days, my hubby’s gift is in limbo!), but the idea of going to a crowded mall sounds about as fun as a dentist appointment…
I’m going to the Bay Area again for Christmas and I think we’ll spend some time in San Francisco, any cool thing to do you could suggest? I’ve done the touristy things before, but I like to explore neighborhood gems! Also, did you know that there’s a store in the city that’s supposed to carry Jetoy stationary (the Choo Choo cats)?? I’m planing a trip there 🙂
Ashleigh says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it? A little of both! If I see a tutorial or a look online that I am inspired by, I will plan my look ahead of time.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t? A do! I am short though, so they don’t look the best on me.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? Yes, and the settings I have currently do not capitalize the first word of the next sentence automatically, so I end up taking extra time to capitalize everything or it bugs me. I really should figure out the correct settings…
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real? Very young, like you! Santa was always “lactose-intolerant” and wanted orange juice instead of milk, which was a dead giveaway. I don’t remember truly believing.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace? My elf small stipple brush has bit the dust and I need to find it in stock before I cough up the $3 to replace it 🙂
Suzanne C says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
I have a basic look that I do every day. Sometimes I switch up the eyeshadow colors or the blush, but generally it’s the same thing. So, planned I guess?
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
I love a wide-legged trouser on other people- with a high waist, it’s totally Katherine Hepburn. But I’m 5’4″ and chubby, so it’s a definite NONONONONO! for me.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Yes, always. I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and one of my (truly bizarre) manifestations is that I have to use punctuation. I also cannot deal with abbreviations very well.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
We don’t celebrate Christmas, so I never thought he was.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
I need a new blush brush.
Monica P says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
A bit of both.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
As a pear shaped gal – wide leg trousers!!
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Yes. I try not to, but ugh, I just feel the need.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
Probably around 9 yr old.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
Not a thing .. All makeup items are good to go 🙂
M.
Monica says
1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
I typically wing it, I like to cycle through my eyeshadow palettes so everything else revolves around what I pick up and what palettes I dip into that day.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
For others yes, for myself not so much.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Most of the time, but when I’m texting close friends I typically drop them.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
I never thought Santa was real. I think my parents told us the story in the same way we were told about the Wizard of Oz or Alice in Wonderland.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
I need to replace my Real Techniques buffing brush, it’s been my go to foundation tool and after about 2 years of daily use I feel like it’s not as soft or buff-y as before.
Holly says
Hi Karen, happy Monday! I saw that the Boots Instagram mentioned you in one of their photos today; congrats!
Here’s my answers for this week’s poll:
1. I generally wing my makeup look & don’t do test runs but having said that, I’m really good at visualizing so I think about what I’m going to do while going about the first part of my morning routine.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants are a do as long as they have a proper rise & hem. I think they can look really sloppy if not done properly.
3. Even when I had one of those cell phones that you had to push each number button to get each letter & took forever to compose a text, I’d make sure I used proper spelling & punctuation. It’s a perfectionist thing.
4. I think I must have been fairly young when I found out about Santa; I don’t remember that bit of childhood.
5. Since I rarely wear either foundation or BB cream, I actually need to purchase a Beauty Blender. I could also use a new powder brush, one of those super-soft & floofy ones!
I’m all set for Christmas; the few gifts I’m giving (nieces, nephews, & grandmother) are all purchased & wrapped. I hope you get everything done before the holidays that you need to get done & that you don’t wear yourself out!

I used a 20% off Ulta coupon to get a large powder brush from IT Cosmetics. It is SO soft! IT brushes are on the pricier side but man, this one was worth it! It works great, too.

Excellent suggestion, thanks! I have a 20 percent off coupon that I didn’t know I could use on IT brushes!

I think the restrictions are different each time so read the fine print, but hopefully you can! 🙂

1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it? I don’t wear a lot of makeup everyday, stay at home mom, so when I do get a chance to wear it, a little planning goes into it. I know what works, so I go with that.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t? On the right body type, heck yeah, on my shirt legs/big butt body (that I loooooove!) no way! Also, I think they can be aging if not worn with the right accessories, and I don’t want to look any older than I am, 40, which I also loooooove! For reals.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? Yes!!! Always! If I reply just one word and don’t add a period, it freaks me out.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real? I don’t really remember, so probably pretty young. My daughters are 13 and 10 and they both still truly believe, and I love it!
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace? I need to pick up another Naked2 palette, mine is old and it’s time for replacement. Yay!

WING IT!
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
IF YOU’RE TALL AND SKINNY (which I am not), GO FOR IT. OTHERWISE, I FEEL LIKE IT IS NOT FLATTERING.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
NOT USUALLY
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
2ND OR 3RD GRADE
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
BEAUTY BLENDER

1. Do I plan my makeup look? I do but only on special occassions, I do often plan my lip looks to match the outfit I am wearing that day.
2. Wide legged trousers? If you can rock them, absolutely!
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? Of course I do; that current announcement that we should not is ridiculous.
4. How old was I when I found out Santa is not real?
A friend of the family told my sibling and me when we were in 1st and 2nd grade, we were upset but I wanted proof, I told my oldest sibling that we should write to Santa and if he writes back he’s real, we sent out the letter and did not get a response. 🙁
A decade later younger siblings and cousins had the same idea when they were told that Santa does not exist and they wrote a letter to Santa, I did not want them to be as disappointed as I was so I wrote them back pretending to be Santa, during a family reunion a decade later they admitted that they recognized my handwriting on the letter they received but kept quiet to humor me!
5. The makeup tool I need to replace is my slanted blush brush and I need a Beauty Blender because I have never owned one.

1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it? I almost always plan if it’s a party/special event. For everyday looks, it’s always the same so, no planning required. I have done some last minute product switches just for the fun of it but normally, it’s the same old, same old. 🙂
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t? Definite do.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation? Always. And it always makes me a little itchy when I receive texts with no caps/punctuation and abbreviations like l8r. My boys never type a full word – I try to just breathe deeply. HAHA!
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real? I think probably 6th grade. But, it’s funny because I just had this chat with the fellas last night. One said “I believe in getting PRESENTS from Santa” (smart aleck) but the other is still vehement there is a Santa – though he feels he might live closer to Colorado than the North Pole. 🙂 They’ll be 13 in a couple of months so they’re on the innocent side. I’m not complaining, by any means.
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace? Luckily my tool box runneth over.

1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
I just wing it! I do very simple looks though (neutral eyeshadow).
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
Do, depending on how it’s styled. I am very petite (both weight wise and height wise) so they can look overwhelming on me.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
Most of the time.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
I can’t even remember!
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
eyeshadow brushes

1. Do you like to plan your makeup looks beforehand, or do you just wing it?
A bit of both! If I’m just heading off to work I’ll wing it, but if I’m going to a concert or an event I’ll start planning stuff weeks in advance.
2. Wide-legged trouser pants: a do or a don’t?
DON’T. I’m a petite hourglass/pear, and I just hate the feeling of fabric swooshing around on my legs.
3. When you text, do you use punctuation?
With certain people, yes, but there are a few folks who I’ll leave off the periods with.
4. How old were you when you discovered that Santa isn’t real?
Probably… late childhood?
5. What’s a makeup tool in your arsenal that you currently need to replace?
Nothing! I tend to buy different versions of the same product and then never use any of them. Whoops!
