You might be wondering, “So what in tarnation is this Monday Poll thing anyway!?”
Well, it isn’t exactly a poll. It’s more of a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I’ve been putting out to readers every Monday morning for the past seven years. (It’s like a kickstart for your brain.) I’ve always enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I hope you enjoy reading mine.
- Do you like being the center of attention?
In casual settings, not really. I leave that up to charming experts like Tabs. 🙂But in work-related situations, I generally don’t mind it, like if I’m leading a group or giving a presentation…as long as I’m prepared and haven’t had so much coffee that I’m jittery.
- The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
A snuggly blanket, a hot cup of herbal tea, an autumnal scented candle (I lighted a new Nest Pumpkin Chai Candle today… So good!) and a big stack of books and magazines. - Under my bed, you’ll find…
Dust bunnies, the packaging for various electronic doodads (El Hub’s doing), random bottles of lotion and pieces of makeup, a machete (again, El Hub’s doing), and about half of my young adult book collection, because you never know when you’ll wake up in the middle of the night with a strong urge to reread The Hunger Games. - I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Vitamin Water Zero in Glow, which I haven’t been able to find in any stores lately… I hope they haven’t discontinued it.It has to be cold though; otherwise, what’s the point?
- Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
I did from the time I was a kid all the way up through high school. I felt comforted going to sleep seeing my favorite things, like my books, my desk and all of my knick-knacks, but when I left for college, I lived in the dorms for my first year with a roommate, and she liked to sleep with all of the lights off (understandably). It was weird for me at first, but our room was near a street lamp, and some of the light would still come in through the closed curtains…so I could still see my room. 🙂
Over time I guess I’ve just gotten used to sleeping in the dark.
Your turn. 🙂 Just copy and paste the following questions into a comment with your answers. I look forward to reading ’em!
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Of all the crazy Karl Lagerfeld quotes I’ve read, this has to be one of my favorites:
“I’m very severe with myself and sometimes I miss French cheese…”
-Karl Lagerfeld (source: cnn.com)
OK, to put this in context, Karl was talking about his diet in an interview, but the very notion of not eating cheese is just INSANE to me.
Because I. Love. It.
I love cheese.
Even though I’ve slowly weaned myself off of dairy over the past couple years (I swear, less dairy equals clearer skin for me), that does not include cheese…which I know is dairy, but never mind.
I’ve been going through a Babybel cheese phase lately. I like to have one with a sliced apple for my afternoon snack.
Mmm, Babybel cheese and an apple… It’s a legit addiction.
Anyway, this is all to say that I bought a new kitchen contraption yesterday, the Progressive Wedge & Pop, and it has completely rocked my cheese-and-apple-eating world.
It cores and slices in one fell swoop!
In my best infomercial voice, “Why handle dangerous knives when the Progressive Wedge & Pop cuts and slices evenly while removing the core?”
Haha! Just push, flip and pop, and it’s easy to clean too.
I got mine at a HomeGoods store for $6.
On that note, have an apple-solutely awesome Monday! 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood apple, beauty and cheese addict,
Karen
Kim says
Happy Monday! I just got so caught up in the thought of never eating cheese again that I almost forgot this was a poll! Needless to say, Karl and I are again at odds. Vive le fromage! 😉
1. Do you like being the center of attention? It depends who I’m with but one of my besties has a big, fantastic personality so she usually shoulders the burden of being the center of attention. 🙂
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes… mine is eerily similar to yours but lately I’d opt for Netflix over reading – something family friendly so everyone could snuggle!
3. Under my bed, you’ll find… also dust bunnies. And plastic storage containers of summer clothes. Old house with little closet space.
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher. Cherry Coke Zero. I actually did that once at Disney with a straw as a joke (thanks to our clever waiter).
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? No but I might have when I was very little. The boys like to have their doors open and the hall light on. I prefer my door shut (because the cats would take up the bed and keep me awake) and complete darkness.
Marina(Makeup4all) says
1. Do you like being the center of attention? Not really, but I often find myself “there”.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes… relaxing, eating and reading/watching something nice.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find… I try to keep in all clean, promise 😉
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher. Hmm. Orange juice, maybe.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? No, and I don’t think I ever did.
The LA Lady says
1. Do you like being the center of attention? For a while… and then I like to retreat!
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes… Apple picking. Not a lot of that in Los Angeles but my Oregonian roots remember going to apple orchards with my family.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find… a bin filled with clothes with sentimental value (does that make sense?) my giant bin of manicure/pedicure tools, products and nail polish. I think there’s a suitcase under there, too.
4. I could drink… iced tea… NO sweetener… by the pitcher.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? I used to but my doctor told me any kind of light at night can affect your sleep cycle. Once we installed blackout shades and covered the various electronic lights all over the bedroom with black tape, I was able to sleep better at night. My alarm clock is motion-activated so there’s no green glow at night.
OMG cheese is everything. Since it’s apple season I’m partial to aged white cheddar, but over the weekend we had this vanilla blueberry goat cheese from Trader Joe’s and it’s changing my life.
Shannon says
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
Eh… I don’t love it. It sort of depends on the situation, though, I guess!
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
A brisk walk in a park, and after that, a sunny little nook to read & drink hot chocolate or tea in. Mmmm.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
Some electronics, like our router (yay internet); a melodica (a small keyboard instrument that you blow through to make sound, kind of like a harmonica-ish); and APPARENTLY a Rubbermaid bin with all my fall boots in it!! (I had been wondering WHERE they could POSSIBLY be, when I pulled that bad boy out just yesterday. It was awesome and annoying all at the same time, lol!)
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Everything? Uhm, how about tasty beer (session beer with a low ABV, please), or water, or Market Spice Tea, or hot chocolate, or….
You can keep coffee off that list – I tend to get cranky if I have more than one cup in the morning (though I can sometimes go for another in the afternoon).
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
I think I did for a brief period of time when I was little. I grew up with lace curtains, though, so there was soft streetlight in my window ‘most every night. These days, I tend to sleep better when it’s pitch black, but rarely take the effort to make my room that dark – the apartment below us has a balcony with a light that stays on most of the time. I don’t mind the ambient light too much. Plus, if you have to pee, it’s nice to be able to navigate to the bathroom 🙂
Karen, I need to go get a bag of Babybels now… So yummy!
Kiss & Make-up says
1. Do you like being the center of attention? Depends on the situation. If I’m doing something I’m excel at, yes. But otherwise, no, not really.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes a movie, a box of Belgian chocolates, a blanket and my man!
3. Under my bed, you’ll find skis, crutches, a work-out bench, a tool box and several plastic boxes with towels and cleaning stuff. Yeah, we live small >.>
4. I could drink champagne by the pitcher.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? No, I need absolute darkness (and silence) in order to sleep.
Jules says
When I worked at a daycare, one of my roles was washing dishes. One day I was washing a Progressive Wedge & Pop when I noticed a chunk of apple caught in a blade, and attempted to remove it. NOT A GOOD IDEA. Those things are SHARP.
1. Do you like being the center of attention? Yes, but only if it’s positive.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon my cat, a book, a blanket and a bed!
3. Under my bed, you’ll find dust bunnies and cat toys!
4. I could drink sparkling wine or champagne by the pitcher.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Yes. I used to be horribly afraid of the dark and also slept with a baseball bat beside my bed.
Rachel says
FYI – Just bought some vitamin water zero Glow’s at my local grocery, on sale for 88 cents, so I don’t think they are discontinued!
Stefi says
Hi Karen!
Here we go:
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
Not really, unless I’m in an environment where I feel comfortable and I know what I’m doing or what I’m talking about. But I don’t like being in the center of attention, especially not in front of a group of people like when presenting something at school – I’m actually mortified by that, SOOOO not my thing! 🙁
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
my cozy and comfy blanket (it’s gigantic!!!), autumn scented candles and a book/movie or just sleep – I could have a nap every day at every hour so that would be the best combination ever for me 🙂
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
I actually have the drawers with my bedsheets and towels under my bed so there’s nothing else under there 🙂
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Water or lemonade – but a home-made one: with water, lemons, and maybe a bit of honey. Gimme that and gimme a lot of that!
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
I don’t have a light in my bedroom but I have a light in my storeroom – if someone asks it’s for the cats so they find their way to the restroom but it’s actually because I hate sleeping in total darkness, that really freaks me out so I always leave a small light on, everywhere I go to sleep 🙂
Stephanie Smith says
1. Do you like being the center of attention? Yes! Not in an obnoxious way, but I like attention.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…hanging out with the family, making a big pot of soup or spaghetti sauce, listening to music or watching tv.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…a shotgun (inherited from my Grandfather), random socks/shoes/t-shirts (mine and the kids).
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher. Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Frappucchinos. If I could put it in an IV, I would!
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? No, I’ve always liked a dark room. My husband likes the tv on, so I put a pillow over my head.
Agata says
I love today’s questions!
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
No, I really don’t, I am too self-conscious. But to some extent, I think everyone does…
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
A walk in the park followed by a delicious cup of Starbucks coffee or just staying at home with my iPad and a cup of hot apple cider.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
A suitcase and my husband’s LE Monopoly game (that’s carefully wrapped so it doesn’t collect dust).
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Coffee, naturally and I already do! other than that Costco brand Coconut water. Nothing tastes better after a good workout than that!
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
No and no. I need complete darkness and no noises, please!
Also, I have a similar apple cutter thing and I love it, makes life so much easier and I eat so much more apples thanks to it!
How is your Monday? I am having a good day! Just went and bought a dress for my bff’s bachelorette party next weekend. Now I am on the search for high heeled boots!
Syah says
First time doing this 🙂
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
Depends on the situation. I’m a performer so being center of attention when performing is nice but otherwise, I prefer to be alone, hanging out one-on-one or with my cat.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
Blankets, hot chocolate, funny movie and cat cuddles.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
I don’t have an ‘under the bed’ right now because I’m waiting for my renos to be done so we can have actual bed again…and not sleep on two mattresses on the floor.
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
WATER! I like water a lot.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Used to as a kid but The Boy needs darkness and I’ve been forced to adapt 😉
How is your Monday?
busy busy busy. I do laundry, cleaning and cooking on Mondays!
Allison C says
1. Do you like being the center of attention? I definitely used to. Now I am a little more self-assured and don’t have to be. 😉
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes… going to the beach or riding bikes
3. Under my bed, you’ll find… lost shoes
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher. lemonade
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? I must have as a child. Now there are such cute night lights, but the light from my Bose music player is brighter than any nightlight!
Suzanne C says
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
No, never. I have Social Anxiety Disorder, so being the center of attention is an automatic panic attack for me.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
My nieces, some yummy snacks, and a pile of board games!
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
Shoes. And shoes. And maybe some more shoes. And one box of sentimental things I keep from my childhood.
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Sweet tea, of course! Southern born, Southern bred. 😉
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Not a nightlight, exactly, but we leave one of the living room lamps on low. Our dog is solid black & she likes to lay In The Exact Middle of where we walk. There would be broken bones without a light on.
Karen says
Hi Suzanne C,
What kind of dog do you have? What is her name?
Suzanne C says
She is a little bit of everything, lol! She is a rescue- she did obedience training as part of an inmate rehabilitation program & lived in a minimum security prison for several months. We literally went to prison to meet her & then to pick her up. Her name is Julia, but we call her lots of names- Julia Child (food is her favorite), Jules, Punkster, BooYah, Get Out of the Garbage Can, Stop Barking at the Mailman…
Karen says
Well of course! A beloved pup must have many, many names. Our dog Shauna (RIP) went by Sha-na-na, Sha-ning, Pretty Girl, Sweet Girl… It’s completely necessary to have all those names. 🙂
Julia’s story is very cool, by the way. I’m sure she was a ray of sunshine for those who got to be with her in rehabilitation program! Animals make everything better. Does she still remember all of her obedience training?
Majick says
1. Do you like being the center of attention? Not usually but it happens. 🙂
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes… hanging out outside, maybe have a fire, relaxing with the hubby, making a good meal.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find… even I don’t go there…LOL (probaby books, maybe some stray makeup? Gonna have to look tonight YIKES!
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher. water, there isn’t anything else that I could like drinking by the pitcher (uh, maybe dos equis LOL)
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? we have a street light outside the bedroom window so yes. It’s annoying and helpful at the same time. I have top down bottom up shades becasue I like to see the night sky. Wish that darn light wasn’t there. I really miss my late neighbor, he used to “make it go out” for us. Miss you JOe!
Karen says
Hi Majick,
LOL, speaking of finding makeup underneath the bed, chances are you’ll find some gems. I once found a long-lost (and beloved) Urban Decay Liner that had been missing for years! I still have no idea how it got underneath there.
Have a great week!
LindaLibraLoca says
I do love cheese, but had to cut back especially on the french from age as Mr. Loca can stand neither smell nor taste.
When we started dating, I lived in a single room with open kitchen, and he gave me a Biohazard sticker to put on my fridge after discovering my cheese collection…
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
I absolutely don´t mind. Somebody’s got to do it, right? Although it doesn’t happen to often…
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
Tea (Earl Grey in the afternoon, green tea in the mornings), some cookies, a blanket and either a book or the Little Bean chatting away.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
Neatly stored diving, climbing and hiking gear. There is just not enough space anywhere else.
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Green tea. Especially lately it keeps me going.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
No. Never have and really dislike it. I made it a habit to darken the room completely when I was still working night shift. That helped a lot.
Karen says
Hi Linda.Libra.Loca!
When it comes to cheese, the stinkier the better is what I like to say. 🙂
That is SUPER cool that you have all that gear underneath your bed! Where is the coolest place you’ve ever dived? I’ve never done it, but I might if I ever get over my claustrophobia issues. I’ve snorkeled and enjoyed it very much.
LindaLibraLoca says
Kho Tao was up until now the diving spot I enjoyed the most. The water is warm, there is a big variety of spots and when you get out of the water, you are in Thailand with a the gorgeous food, which is a big plus.
I even saw a whale shark there!
Usually I dive in the mediterranean sea, which is great as well and more easily to reach from where I live.
Karen says
That sounds beautiful. And lovely and warm! I live for warm water, le sigh. I bet the water was crystal clear, too, right?
Rachel R. says
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
Not usually.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
Going for a country drive with my hubby to see the fall trees. Then home for comfort food, a good book or Netflix, and cuddles from hubby.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find… A few pieces of dirty laundry my hubby has kicked under there. We had a drawer pedestal for ages, so we had clothes, etc. in those. We got a new bed frame a few months ago, so now I have a empty space there. I’ll probably end up storing out-of-season shoes there.
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher. Diet cola, iced tea or margaritas.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? No nightlight. I tried them for a bit when I was a kid, because of nightly nightmares and night terrors, but I figured out quickly the light didn’t help anything. I’m not afraid of the dark.
Karen says
Hi Rachel R.,
I wish I lived somewhere where all the trees changed color. Here in Nor Cal we really don’t get dramatic fall change.
By the way, did you ever end up grabbing the Gravitas palette?
Rachel R. says
I’m near Portland, OR. It’s nice to have seasons, but by the end of the winter, I’ll be jealous of you. Six months of rain gets to one after a while.
No, I didn’t end up getting the Gravitas palette. My older son managed to goof up his fiances while in a manic state. I had to come up with over $500 for his rent, plus more for some of his other bills. I had to cut out some non-essentials.
Karen says
El Hub and I have family friends who live up there who have been trying to get us to move there for years! They love it. I think I would like it, too, if there was less rain, LOL. The last time we visited was about 8 years ago. Someday soon, hopefully.
Oh boy. I hope that everything with your son worked out. He’s lucky to have you there to help! How many kids do you have? Right now it’s just me, El Hub and Tabs, but one day I’d like to have children.
Rachel R. says
I’ve lived in Oregon most of my life. I really do love it, except that it’s not very fashion forward.
My son is doing much better, thanks. I have two boys. The 19-year-old is rapid-cycling bipolar and has Asperger’s Disorder. The younger one is 17, and has Asperger’s. They are really smart (both high-superior IQs), good kids, though. They just need a lot of extra help.
We always wanted to adopt a little girl, but our boys’ disabilities were such an strain on time, money, energy and emotions that we opted not to spread ourselves any thinner.
Darbie says
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
At work I have to be ‘on’ so much that I like not being the c.o.a. in my private life.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
Snacks, hearth, movies/book I can disappear into for a few hours.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
Dust bunnie farm.
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Moscato di Asti (or the bottle)
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Working nights and sleeping days, the sun is an awesome/terrible nightlight 🙁
Karen says
Hi Darbie,
I love moscato! I haven’t tried that brand yet, though, so it’s on my list.
How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?
Trude says
1. Do you like being the center of attention? I don’t exactly like it, I prefer to have an even share when my friends and I get together. 🙂
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes… A cozy sweater, a pumpkin spice latte, and trees that change color.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find… Extra linens and luggage. Bedskirts are my friend!
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher. Pepsi Max. I get my soda fix with zero sugar and it actually tastes good!
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? No, I like total darkness now. But when I was little I HAD to have one. Such an overactive imagination.
Karen says
Hi Trude,
I hope that you had a nice weekend. Did you do anything fun?
Trude says
I did! Some retail therapy at Sephora (went back to my old faithful foundation, MUFE Mat Velvet Plus) and went out with the BF and our friends to watch the UFC fights at a local restaurant with a nice patio so the men could have their cigars. Not too shabby! Hope you had a good one too! 🙂
Karen says
Retail therapy is the best therapy. 🙂 I had a good weekend, too, thanks for asking! I’m still recovering from the race, so I slept a lot on Saturday. On Sunday I went to brunch with a friend and then to a store called HomeGoods, which is NIRVANA for home things. I may or may not have purchased a bone china cat mug.
Frances says
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
I do enjoy an audience.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
Manicure and pedicure and a nap. Also tea and books or movies.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
Cat toys and dust buffalo (my vacuum does not fit all the way under the bed).
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Margaritas. mmmm.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Only when I was very young. I prefer a dark room to sleep.
Karen says
Hi Frances,
Tell me about your cats. How many do you have? I would love to have a whole gang of kitties, but Tabs insists on being my one and only.
Happy Monday to you!
Estefania says
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
Not really… If I can just mind my own business without anyone ever knowing I was there, perfect!
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
The boyfriend (I haven’t seen him in half a year! :(), a thick blanket, Netflix, and Nutella + raspberries
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
Probably the shoe I’ve been looking for everywhere, makeup brushes, and Phoebe’s toys (my schnauzer)
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Sangrias. Oops.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Nope. My parents were always very adamant about us facing the dark haha. If we were scared, they would tell us to pray until we felt better (hey, it worked!). I can’t sleep unless it’s dark. Totally dark.
Karen says
Hi Estefania,
Aww, I hope that you get to see your boyfriend soon! Why have you guys been apart for so long?
Estefania says
Hey, Karen!
He’s finishing up school and I got a job back home, across Texas haha. We met in college, and right now we’re looking at seeing each other once every six or three months until he graduates :/ I’ll see him for New Years, though! 😀
Karen says
Good for the both of you! Congrats on finishing school (that’s a huge accomplishment) and getting a gig. Are you working in an industry that you like?
Also, time will go by so fast and next thing you know you’ll be seeing him. 🙂 Distance is challenging but you can always make it work!
Estefania says
Aw, thanks, Karen! I did actually. I got really lucky and found a hospital that was willing to take a chance on me (this is my first grown up job), and they’ve been so nice and willing to teach me!
Distance IS challenging haha. We’ve done it on and off throughout college, but this is the longest we’ve ever been apart! He’s lucky I love him, otherwise I’d trade him in for that Brownie Husband in the Tina Fey SNL skit! (don’t tell him- shhh) 😀
Karen says
That’s wonderful. I bet your family is so proud of you! Are you enjoying your job so far?
LOL, brownie husband! Really, I think those SNL writers are onto something. What if there were a bunch of different flavors?! Birthday cake, semi-sweet chocolate chip cookie, pumpkin pie…
Will your boyfriend be graduating soon? Hopefully you guys will be able to be in the same place soon.
Fancie says
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
With my family and significant other? Yes lol. Not so much in social settings. Or business settings in that matter. I’m a little awkward sometimes so I’d rather not have the spotlight all the time.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
Lots of cake, ice cream and some Walking Dead reruns.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
Tubs of clothes and random accessories lol
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
Wine or Margaritas
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Not really. I sleep with my TV on. I’ve never felt comfortable sleeping in complete darkness. I thought I’d grow out of it but no luck yet lol
Karen says
Hi Fancie,
Speaking of tubs of clothes, I finally had to take my winter sweaters out of storage. It’s cold here in the Bay Area! How is the weather out your way?
Alice Ann says
1. Do you like being the center of attention? No, not in my private life. Professionally, it’s fine.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes… a good walk, hot toddy, and either a movie or book, with animals at my side.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find… dust bunnies, lost socks, dog toys.
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher. Margaritas, please.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? No, I prefer as dark as possible.
Karen says
Hi Alice Ann,
Your Sunday afternoon sounds like my kinda party, LOL.
How are ya? And how is your dog doing?
Icequeen81 says
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
No, I don’t like to be in my private life
But work related I have to be as a teacher
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
my hubby, and a relaxed movie , sitting beside each other
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
nothing
4. I could drink coconut water by the pitcher.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
not really it wont let me sleep
Karen says
Hi Icequeen,
I hope you’re doing ok! How is work? Are the kids behaving? Lol
Icequeen81 says
Mehhh some of the seniors don’t understand they are in senior class and they need to study and behave.
But the youngest ones are behaving great
GlamKitty says
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
It depends… partly on what the situation is, and partly on how much alcohol I’ve imbibed, lol.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
a day spent in-and-out-of-doors with my boyfriend, enjoying some nice food, relaxing drinks, and each other’s company.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
my Ragdoll cat, who loves to snooze there during the day! 😀 (Also, and far-less excitingly, my boyfriend’s duffle bags, pfft.)
4. I could drink mojitos or G&T’s by the pitcher.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
I sleep with one in the next room (which is the bathroom), so enough light shines in that neither of us will accidentally step on the cat (who sometimes sprawls in the middle of the floor) during a nighttime bathroom run!
(BTW… can’t wait to hear what you thought about “The Rosie Project”! I LOVED it when I read/reviewed it on my blog almost exactly a year ago. 🙂 )
Karen says
Hi Glamkitty,
I read it a few months ago and am re-reading it again. It is such a treat! I love the main character’s voice. 🙂
How are you and Boomie doing? Is he dressing up for Halloween?
GlamKitty says
Exactly… he’s just so darn interesting (especially now that nerds are hip, lol).
We’re great! L.A. life suits us, I think. (Gonna be manning a booth here at Comikaze, though, so no time to dress my boycat up this year. :/ )
Erin says
Sorry for being late to the party, real life has been way to hard this week!
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
Yes and no.It depends on the circumstances and who is providing the attention. Most of the time it’s always made me feel like there is a target painted on my back.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
Traveling for me would be best but if I’m home a perfect Sunday would look like this:
1.Wake up around 9 am and make blueberry pancakes, bacon, and coffee.
2.Spend some time reading and relaxing until lunch time.
3.Have a light lunch and spend some time playing video games with my husband.
4. Start a fairly elaborate dinner prep in the mid afternoon with my husband.
5.Take a walk as a family w/ our fur babbies.
6.get dinner rollin’ in the late afternoon so it’s ready to eat by 6-7 and eat it at the table with no screen time allowed.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
Dog fur and empty water bottles.
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
The perfect sangria or the right wine. OH, or Saint Germain mixed with champagne and lemon twists.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Absolutely not. If there is any light it’s game over for ZZZZ time.

Mmm… cheese… *drools*
1. Do you like being the center of attention?
I don’t *mind* it, but I don’t go out of my way to seek it out. I only really like to be there if I have a legitimate reason to be, like giving a conference presentation, or performing onstage. Otherwise it probably means something embarrassing has happened… 😉
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes…
Curled up with the Wizard, playing videogames or watching YouTube videos, with cups of hot tea, and the knowledge that there’s leftover cheesy pasta bake in the fridge to heat up for dinner (I swear it’s better the second time). Preferably, it will be raining outside.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find…
Totally hear you on the random boxes for electronics. The machete under your bead made me jump/laugh though! 😀 Maybe I should say I keep all my daggers and poisons there? 😉 In reality it’s more like: dust and socks that I pushed off while sleeping that randomly fell down out of the bed and worked their way under there…
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher.
A kind of Egyptian lemonade called limuun (or limoon? I’m going on pronunciation here). It is made of win, but you can’t get the right lemons here 🙁 In more conventional terms: peach iced tea.
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)?
Nope, I never have. But when I was growing up, the light pollution was low enough that the stars and moon did a decent job of lighting things up anyway!

It’s kinda pathetic that I’m finally getting around to the Monday poll on a Thursday, but it’s been one of those weeks!
1. Do you like being the center of attention? – I like it more often than not, but if I’m tired, hungry, cranky, or out of my element, then forget it.
2. The recipe for a perfect Sunday autumn afternoon includes… – It’s a lot like yours 😀 I can laze around all day with my laptop or a book, in comfy clothes or a robe, burning the Marshmallow Fireside candle from B&BW (the Blackberry Bramble Tea one is good, too) and I like drinking hot apple cider with Buttershots in it! If I’m in the living room, then I have a great view of all the bright orange and yellow leaves outside.
3. Under my bed, you’ll find… – Dust. Lost chapsticks. A couple pairs of shoes. Monsters.
4. I could drink __________ by the pitcher – Water comes to mind, but I love a good punch too 🙂 If someone mixes it right, I will imbibe it like oxygen…
5. Do you sleep with a nightlight now (or have you ever)? – I used to, and I really need to get another, just because if I have to get up in the night it is pitch-black in my room and it would be nice to be able to get up without having to unplug my iphone and use the flashlight.
