Makeup and Beauty Blog Tag: Hump Day Games

Published in: Just For Fun

audrey-hepburn-final.jpg

Every once in a while a fellow beauty blogger will invite me to play a game of blog tag. In blog tag, a blogger is asked a series of fun questions or asked to write something like I Love the 80s!.

When you’re done, you tag another blogger, and it spreads from there (like wildfire!). I don’t always have time to play, but today when my homegirl Christine of Temptalia.com tagged me to play Getting to Know You, I couldn’t resist! Ya’ll know I love to write lists.

Here are my answers, in no particular order…

Cultivating a unique point of view to share with the world
Not being stagnant, and challenging myself to evolve mentally, physically and artistically
Flossing and dental hygiene in general
Bringing out the best in others

  1. You know Karen, I swear we were separated at birth because from needing humor in our lives, to knowing there are up days to all the funk days… we live and learn and make the best with what we got. And we look damn good doing it, lol! J/K, or am I ;)

Anyhow, I think you’d be a fantastic mum. There will definitely be endless laughter in that crib! You better tell El Hub the deal, girl. You let him know that my tykes need play dates if we move back or for when y’all come to visit – pronto! But in the meantime, I’ll fax both of mine on over to you ;) Complete with snacks and gallons of milk.

And that’s actually very funny that you mention a pony. Hubbo had a pony when they used to live on a ranch in Tracy and I swear, it just cracks me up. You think men like macho things, but Hi! My Hubbo likes himself a pony *giggles*

Oh, and guess who lugged two kids on over to the new Nordies ON HER OWN :) YEUP! And not even 2 minutes into the store, I already had something in my hand to buy and a tandem double stroller parallel parked next to the rack, lol. But I totally had you on my mind when I entered and was actually wondering if your in-laws would coincidentally be there also, hah.

Ok, I’m rambling now. But thanks for tagging me. I’m on it… dun-nunna-na!

Get to skydiving, woman! It’s a lot of fun. I think I might go in the summer for my birthday. It’ll have to totally be on the D/L though, because El Hub will NOT be very supportive of the endeavor!

So get this — I just checked my iTunes and I don’t have one lick of Iron Maiden! What’s your Iron Maiden favorite song?

  17. Karen says:

    Hi Breezy,

I’m glad you had fun doing this! It made me think, too, which is why I thought ya’ll would enjoy it as well. Plus, we get to learn more about each other, and that’s always fun.

A marketing consulting business.. I used to do marketing consulting for nonprofits and loved it. Eventually, I would like to start up something more official and deal with a wider range of companies.

And what would you get your Master’s in?
That’s the big debate. I can’t decide. I’ve thought of Communications, Organizational Management and getting my MBA. I’d have to take accounting for my MBA, which is way beyond my natural abilities!!! But, I’m still not certain and will wait for my husband to finish his schooling before I start again.

  37. I actually found a pair of big ‘ol $10 sunglasses that I could wear. And since they’re only $10, I don’t have to fret if they get knocked to the ground. That’s what happened to my last pair. I’ve been eyeing some Angel ones that are about $120 or something, but Big Tyke is always getting into my things, I’m not ready to flip the bill just yet, hah.

And of course I hit up the MAC counter. But I only picked up prep-n-prime lash since Hubbo challenged me to only spend $25. So with both purchases I spent a lovely $24 something, hah. But I’ll be going there tomorrow afternoon for a class anyways so I’m already locked in to spend $50, hah.

Anyhow, hope your day is going good too :)

    Heh. Coffee is key!

BTW, what did you think of the Scott Westerfeld trio?

  39. Karen says:

    Hi Ilovecheese,

You’ll love skydiving! Do it, girl! You have to tell me when you go so I can send you good jump vibes. I did it years ago, and now, whenever I am scared to do something I can say to myself, “Fool, you jumped out of a plane. You can handle *this*!” It always works.

I will look for those songs on youtube right now… FOTD, LOL!

  40. Karen says:

    Hi Karen B.,

Wow, Save Ferris! Take me back!!! After I read your list I had to take out their CD and listen to a few of my fave songs, “Under 21″ and “Spam” (makes me think of my childhood… we ate a LOT of Spam).

Have you heard of the Dance Hall Crashers? If you like Save Ferris you’ll probably dig them too. My favorite song from them is “He Wants Me Back.” I listened to it after many a breakup. :)

  41. Karen says:

    Hi Breezy,

Congrats on almost being done at Cal State! That’s great! I have a friend who is trying to get into a nursing program and from what she tells me it’s very competitive, so good luck. I hope you get into your first choice school!

LOL, I am listening to that Pit Bull song right now. We dance to it in class a few weeks ago and I play it at least once a day because it makes me feel pimpish too.

  42. Karen says:

    Hi Tammy,

Aww, Dom sounds cute. I love crazy cats. I wish I had one of my own. Borrowing the neighbor’s will have to do for now (although, I do think of plots to make him my own, I can’t lie!).

Team Jacob all the way! Bella should’ve come to her senses (sigh).

  43. Karen says:

    LOL, Tanya,

OMG – somebody got it! I actually love that song, LOLOLZ.

  44. Karen says:

    Hi Lynne,

Nice! Gotta love those $10 shades. I never really spend a lot on sunglasses because I scratch them up and end up losing them eventually.

Have fun at your class tomorrow! What is it going to be about?

  45. Karen says:

    Hi Glosslizard,

I loved the first book, Uglies! While the second one was okay (Pretties), I felt it wasn’t as tight story wise as the first. I’m on the third one right now, Specials, and so far it’s pretty good. I like Westerfeld’s writing style and because it’s slightly sci-fi it’s totally up my alley. You should check it out when you’ve got some time. It reads very quickly and if you like teen fiction it’s quite good. Shoot, I wish I wrote it…

  46. Glosslizard says:

I’m always into a fun, quick read! I think I will drop by my local library!

  47. Karen B says:

I don’t know Dance Hall Crashers, I’ll have to check that out. I only know a couple of songs from Save Ferris though. but I’m very much open to more music :)

    Hi Glosslizard,

Yah, you’ll like it. Dunno how you feel about vampire stories (honestly, could I be any cheesier?) but Twilight by Stephanie Meyer is most excellent as well! :)

  49. Karen says:

    Hey Karen B.,

They’re a now defunct ska band from Berkeley from back in the day. “He wants me back” is my favorite song…

  50. Karen B says:

    Ooh, love that song!
I’ve read Twilight as well :) It’s an addictive read.
