You might be wondering, “So what in tarnation is this Monday Poll thing anyway!?”
Well, it isn’t exactly a poll. It’s more of a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I’ve been putting out to readers every Monday morning for the past seven years. (It’s like a kickstart for your brain.) I’ve always enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I hope you enjoy reading mine.
- How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
Maybe twice a week… Or sometimes three. Fairly often, I guess, but not as often as I’d like. Heck, though, if I had all the time in the world, I’d go buck wild. I’d be trying something new every day, like a new eyeshadow placement or a different blush technique, because what would it matter? If I had unlimited time, even if something turned out looking absolutely hideous, I’d just wipe it off and start fresh. One new thing I’ve been doing a lot lately are quick timed eye looks of five or 10 minutes just to see if I can do ’em, because, truth be told, I’m naturally prone to dilly-dallying.
Last Saturday I tried this five-minute makeup look by Lisa Eldridge, and actually did the dang thang in five minutes! The only thing I didn’t do was the spot concealing, which I swapped out for a black tight-line along my upper lashes instead, because that’s how I roll, yo.
- What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
Ooh! Avene Eau Thermale Thermal Spring Water ($18), which I used last Saturday instead of MAC Fix+.My skin’s been very dry lately because it gets freakishly windy out here in Novato every fall. (It knocked my favorite flower planter off our deck the other night.) And the vampiric wind sucks every molecule of moisture from my skin, especially after I go for my daily walk.
I wanted to try this Avene spray because I’d heard that it’s supposed to be soothing and great for sensitive skin, and it is! I’ll use it right when I start my whole makeup process (before putting anything on). I spray it directly on my bare skin, and then I also like to spray it on my face again after I’m done, like after powdering, bronzing, blushing, etc., because it also takes everything down a notch so my face makeup looks less like cake frosting.
‘Tis good stuff!
- What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
The remnants of last week’s RMS Beauty Nail Polish mani with creamy orange Curious and shimmery golden Solar.I totally intended to do my nails last night and go with something dark and dramatic, but I fell asleep watching TV on the couch, whoops!
- When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
Ya know…it kind of depends on whether I’m hormonal, haha! Normally, I’d always rather take my breaks with a friend, but when I’m really moody, I think it’s better for everyone involved if I take them by myself. 🙂 - Someone you admired when you were a kid?
Country singer Crystal Gayle!Fo’ reals, though. I greatly admired her long and glossy brown hair…
Your turn. 🙂 Just copy and paste the following questions into a comment with your answers. I look forward to reading ’em!
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
Happy Monday, sweet pea. I hope your coffee (or tea) tastes extra wonderful today.
I’m having a good one so far because yesterday I managed to get Tabs to wear a seashell mermaid bra top…
Yup, cross that one off mah bucket list! 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Tulipthecat says
Tulip has the same costume but I can’t find it. I think she hid it somewhere so I wouldn’t make her wear it again. I was thinking of you when I was watching the new episode of the Walking Dead last night.
Karen says
What did you think of the season opener? Kind of crazy, right?!
Tulipthecat says
It was totally crazy! I can’t wait to see what that noise is.
Karen says
Do you watch the Talking Dead afterward? They did a poll to ask who the audience thought was sounding the horn and the majority picked the Wolves.
Ashley H. says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
Usually on the weekends, because I can’t at work:( If I could I would try something new daily. I have quite a few products like really bold lippies or eye shadows that wouldn’t fly at work, but some of those are my favorites.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
I like my Jack Blacks lip balms, they really do hydrate instead of sitting on my lips. I use some before bedtime to wake up with soft lips. also I like that the scents are not too overwhelming.
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
OPI Red Hot Rio
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
Alone, I like to unwind a bit. but I usually end up chatting on the phone.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
Mariah Carey, my fav artist form the ’90’s
Karen says
Mariah is still my favorite! Nothing can touch Vision of Love, it’s still my jam.
Lulle says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
Not too often. What I mostly do is a 5-minute no-makeup makeup look, so it’s hard to incorporate something bold in that! Every now and then, I’ll try a new smoky or bold lips in a color that I don’t usually wear. Sometimes it works out, sometimes… not!
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
My moisturizer from Peter Thomas Roth. It’s the Hydra-Gel in the Neuroliquid line, and this stuff is the bomb! It looks like it’s being phased out though and I’ll throw a tantrum if I can’t repurchase when I finish my jar! It’s an oil-free silicone-based “gel” that feels super velvety, yet it provides a great amount of moisture. It’s the best thing I’ve ever found for my combo skin!
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
A Dior nail polish, I got it a few years back from their Holiday collection. It’s a rosy beige with golden flecks, can’t remember the name right now!
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
I don’t have to take breaks these days, but when I did, I preferred to take them alone. I need the time to breathe and disconnect and I do that best by myself.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
My aunt!
Hope you had a good weekend Karen! I was in the Bay Area, it was so warm yesterday, almost felt like San Diego, lol!
Karen says
Oh how nice! Were you in the area visiting family? I’m glad you were able to enjoy the weather; this is the best time of the year to come to the Bay.
Lulle says
Yes we came for a wedding!
Karen says
Oh how nice! Where was the ceremony?
Lulle says
In a park in Danville! It was beautiful. We also went to the Grand Lake Theater in Oakland to see the Martian – good movie, really fun old-fashioned theater.
Karen says
You were in a very warm part of the Bay Area then. Glad you enjoyed your visit. If you ever come back and around for longer let me know! We can go grab coffee or something.
Lydia says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone? I usually venture out of my makeup comfort zone on weekends. 🙂
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately? I just started using a foundation brush vs. my fingers and I am loving it.
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow? Essie Butler Please
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone? I usually take them alone and go on a little walk.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid? Jem? lol
Karen says
Ha! I totally loved Jem as well. Showtime, Synergy!
Are you going to watch the movie?
Chelsea says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone? Not too often really! I know what works for me and I usually don’t go too far from that.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
My new Derma E sunscreen! High percentage of zinc, but no crazy white cast, and very hydrating!
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow? Not a darned thing!
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
I usually take them alone, but I do go visit my friends in other cubes.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid? Charles Schultz!
LindaLibraLoca says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
Once a month, when I do my “Inspired by” looks. Other than that I grab the usual and get it done quickly.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
My first ever Chanel nail polish. I never owned one before, got that in a makeup swap and whoa!, that lasting power is incredible.
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
Nothing. I plan on repainting them tomorrow.
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
With someone else. I don’t get to chit-chat throughout work, so I like to socialize.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
Diane Goodall. I wanted to live with animals too.
Have a great week!
Karen says
You have a great week too!
Ruchita says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
Not very often. I’m usually doing quick looks during the work week. On the weekends, I tend to be pretty lazy and go makeup free.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
I picked up this Olay CC cream on a whim from the clearance section and it turned out to be pretty good.
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
Nothing right now. Lately my nails have been peeling and breaking so I probably need to use some kind of nail strengthener.
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
Usually alone. There have been some changes in the office and a bunch of people moved, so it’s really quiet. I usually take the time to check up on Instagram or Facebook.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
This is kind of embarassing, but I remember thinking Kelly Kapowski’s outfits on Saved by the Bell were pretty cool. 🙂
The expression on Tabs’ face is priceless. Hope you’re having a good day!
P.S. If you get a chance, check out @tal_peleg on Instagram. She does some amazing eye makeup looks that are true artwork. I saw a couple of her cat looks re-posted on another account and then checked out her feed. I’ve never seen anything like it. Very unique!
Karen says
Haha, I loved Saved By the Bell! Did you know that Lifetime made a movie a while back about the series? It was super cheesy of course but I thought it was entertaining. Zack and Lisa Turtle were an item off camera!
Thank you for the instagram rec…gonna check her out!
Ruchita says
I hears about that Lifetime movie, but I haven’t seen it yet. I’ll have to check in out. There was a “reunion” on the Jimmy Fallon show that was pretty funny. Even Mr. Belding showed up. 🙂
Karen says
Ahh, Mr. Belding!!
Back in the day I had the biggest crush on Zack Morris. All my friends were about A.C. but I was all about Zack.
Ruchita says
I was a Zack fan too! Sometimes I’ll watch reruns on cable. So much cheese, but they’re fun to watch. 🙂
Karen says
SO MUCH FUN. Especially when you’re in the mood to veg.
You know what I’ve been watching lately on Hulu? The original 90210! Super cheesy but still very entertaining.
Ruchita says
Oh, I loved 90210! I remember Thursday nights my parents would go upstairs to watch some boring PBS show and I had the TV in the family room all to myself. I learned how to record it on the VCR if I wasn’t home to watch. The good old days before DVR.:-)
Karen says
I haven’t seen the old school show in years and it’s so interesting how much TV has changed. By today’s standards it would be considered slow, but I like it. They take more time to develop the characters, which I appreciate.
Have you seen the new 90210? I tried watching a few episodes and it’s just OK.
P.S. Donna Martin graduates!
Rachel R. says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone? There’s not much outside my comfort zone, really. I change my look and colors up all the time. For me, being radically different is going for a “no makeup makeup look.” I pretty much hate it, so I rarely do it.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately? I’m all about the Urban Decay Urban Spectrum palette since I got it. The quality…the colors…AMAZING!
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow? I don’t know what it’s called. I had it done at the salon. It’s a super-glittery bright emerald green gel shellac. (I think it’s Cuccio brand.) I’ve been into jewel-toned greens and blues this fall, even for lips.
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone? I work from home, so it’s pretty fluid. When I worked outside the home, I usually spend them with someone else, but not always. It depended on my schedule and who I was working with, etc.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid? No one
Karen says
That’s what I love about your style — you love color!! 😀
Anna says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
Not often, the most crazy I get is smoky eyes with super winged liner, super bronzed cheeks and nude lips 🙂
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
LOVING Paula’s Choice Clinical 1%. My skin was used to the amount of ‘retinol’ in Neutrogena rapid repair, and I have had zero irritation from starting pc! Of course it might be in my head, but I really think my skin is looking a lot smoother, even texture and tone …
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
Myself! I cherish my ‘break with a sweet latte and Instagram’ time 🙂
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
2 teachers that had high expectations and inspired me to push myself 🙂
Karen says
Hi Anna,
Speaking of a sweet latte on a break, I’m drinking one right now on my break, LOL! Starbucks Pumpkin Spice 4 Life! 😀
Tatiana says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
Rarely. I find myself rushing through my makeup in the mornings, so I usually just do skincare, SPF, spot foundation where I need it, brows, mascara and a sheer lipstick. When we go out I have more time, but then I don’t want to experiment in case it doesn’t work out.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately? Zelens Intense Defence serum.
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow? They’re bare. The Dior Tribale I had on them two weeks ago chipped and peeled after a day and a half. As a result my nails are flaky and peeling, so I need to nurture them back to health before I put another color on.
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone? Alone!! I am an introvert, so I like to take breaks from all that human interaction.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid? My high school English teacher, Mrs. Loftus.
Karen says
Hi Tatiana,
Sheer lipsticks are my go-tos during rushed mornings as well. Who makes your fave sheer lipsticks? I like the ones by Urban Decay. I also like Chubby Stick pencils, like Cliniques.
Tatiana says
I’ve never tried Urban Decay sheers or Chubby Sticks. I will have to look into those, after I reduce my collection further. I like the sheer formulas from NARS, Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford and Chanel’s Rouge Coco Shine.
Karen says
Tom Ford’s sheers are KILLER. I wore them all last summer!
jessica says
How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
I have ventured out so often my comfort zone no longer exists. I’m comfy in neutrals, electric blue, glitter…..
Katie says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone? Technique-wise, often. I love trying new ways of applying eye shadow, but I rarely venture outside of warm-toned shades for eyes, cheeks, and lips. I just know that cool shades aren’t flattering on me.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately? It’s kind of boring and unsexy, but the Gold Bond Rough & Bumpy Skin Cream (in the tub) is the ONLY thing that helps my keratosis pilaris, even including prescription creams, for like 1/2 the cost. The only downside is that it smells like feet, but all KP creams do unfortunately.
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow? Nothing!
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone? I’ve been dealing with extreme fatigue the past few months (I’m actually going to go to the doctor soon, hopefully it’s nothing too scary), so all of my breaks are spent napping.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid? Inge Lehmann, discoverer of the Earth’s inner core and one of the most important female geoscientists ever!
Karen says
Hi Katie,
I kind of love that you looked up to a geoscientist! Are you a geologist?
Katie says
Geology major, actually! But only another two years before I get my degree.
Karen says
Oh how cool! Do you live/study in an area where there’s lots of geological activity? My parents’ house is near a fault line — the Hayward fault. Kinda scary but you get used to living in earthquake country.
Katie says
Yikes! We almost never get earthquakes out here on the East Coast (I don’t think there’s been one strong enough to feel in my entire life) since we’re not near any fault lines, but I do live on Long Island which was deposited by glaciers! And there’s some very old mountain ranges and that kind of thing, but nothing exciting like volcanoes or earthquakes!
Erin says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
I’ve been doing it quite a lot lately! Anytime I do a full face, I’ve been doing stuff like orange lips or blue shadow/eyeliner.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser!
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
Nothing, I keep forgetting paint them!
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
I spend my lunch with my hubby and pets at home.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
I admired the main character of Airwolf because he had a cabin by a lake, played the cello and got to work in a helicopter. I wanted to be that guy. I liked Crystal Gale too because of her hair! I couldn’t imagine living with it so I was fascinated!
Gloria says
I’m very curious about your bucket list involving Tabs. He looks amused, but like he’s used to it.
I’m also VERY VERY HAPPY that you tried the Avene spray! Spray it everywhere. I even spray it on my legs when I have bug bites! Or random rashes. Or for the heck of it. I’m addicted and I have an enabler.
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone? Every month or so I’ll switch things up. I don’t know where my brushes are so I’ve been doing a lot of finger-only makeup application. Yesterday I tried a sparkly navy blue eyeliner on and since it was so pretty, I smudged it out to a smokey eye and LOVED it.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately? A toss up between my Harry Josh blow dryer and the R+Co Salt Spray. Love them both combined. I just now need a bit of highlights to brighten up my locks and I’ll get that California beach-y vibe thing down.
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow? Purple ombre glitter gel nails!!!
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone? I take them alone most of the time, but sometimes La Jefa (is that the right term?) and I will take lunch together! We’re both big foodies so it’s always fun eating with her. =D
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid? Coco Lee. You may know her as the singer of A Love Before Time, the song from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. But way before that, she captured my heart and ears with bright purple locks and covers of ’70s pop music!
Karen says
GURL that Avene spray is EVERYTHING. I need an industrial sized bottle of it for my body. Or better yet, a carwash contraption that will hose me down with it, haha!
Do tell the name of that sparkly blue liner!
Gloria says
I think they do hose people down with that in France!! OMG can you imagine actually going there and dipping in the spring? Wait, would they still allow that? Hmm..
The sparkly blue liner is the Trish McEvoy “Intense” Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Arabian Nights. Let me see if I can find a good selfie from last night to post it up. And girl, it stays on and on and onnnnn!
Karen says
I want to be one of those people, haha! #lifegoals
Oh, can’t wait to see that liner in action. I think Trish is severely underrated… She makes some good stuff! I use her Instant Eye Lift every day.
Jennifer says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone? never, it’s sad.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately? I’m really loving Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation. I know I’m getting second looks and people are wondering why my face looks so great but they’re too polite to ask 🙂
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow? Nothing! I took off a nude with a bit of sparkle last night and fully intended to put on something new but was too tired. So I had to go through Monday with bare, naked nails. Not a good look.
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone? I prefer to spend the time alone because being alone refreshes me. Once in a while I’ll walk for coffee with a coworker.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid? Oh guurrl, you’re dating yourself with the Crystal Gayle reference but I, too, admired her and her gorgeous, long, glossy “hurr.”
Annemarie says
Karen,
I don’t know how to tell you this, but it looks like the bra top on Tabs is upside down–so does that count on the bucket list? It does for me! 🙂
Karen says
Believe it or not it’s right side up. I don’t think it was made for, um, husky kitties. LOL!
Annemarie says
I understand! I sent you a picture of my Rose in her costume via a Facebook message-she is in a cheerleader costume-u will laugh!
Karen says
I just saw it! SO CUTE!!!
Chris25 says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?: Lately I haven’t been doing much else besides neutral eyes, but I really want to go back to experimenting with colors. So the answer is: not much lately lol.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?: I just did a review on a face serum that claims to reduce fine lines, and it works! It makes my skin more glowy.
http://themakeuptrain.com/2015/09/13/review-valentia-even-glow-serum-vitamin-c-20/
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?: China Glaze One Track Mind.
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?: I don’t get breaks because I work in a small medical office and we’re so busy. We eat discretely behind the front desk. Sometimes I go into a small office we have in the building and work on the computer while eating.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?: Paula Abdul. She seemed so down to earth and sweet. And I really loved her dance moves!
Amoure Jones says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
I try to venture out every now and again with different color shadows, and lipsticks. There was a time I was skeptical of orange lipstick , but have since found some that look really pretty on me.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
Right now nothing is rocking my world completely. I’ve using the same things i’ve always been using. I am digging the NYX matte lip creams though.
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
Nothing on my nails right now and this is so unlike me.
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?

Cyndi says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
These days not a whole lot as with two kids it’s slightly busier then with just one, so I usually revert ti my go-to/everyday look, and leave the playing around for the days I don’t have a whole lot going on and the kids are napping lol.
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
LaNeige Water Sleeping Mask! My face feels so soft and smooth in the mornings after I wear this baby!!
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
A dark brownish-grey shellac that I got for my Momma’s wedding this past weekend. 🙂
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
Some days I prefer to be alone, other days I like to be with other adults haha.
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
No one comes to mind haha, oops.
Trude says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
Couple times a month, maybe? Really just on weekends when I’m going out and have time – I love to play with a look from one of the beauty vloggers that I follow. 🙂
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
The Lorac Pro Palette. I got an Amazon gift card for my birthday and that was at the top of my list! I know I’m totally late to the party but it’s just such a perfect mix of colors and mattes and shimmers, and all buttery smooth and pigmented.
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
Deborah Lippman’s New York State of Mind. My BFF got me her holiday collection for my birthday and it’s gorgeous! Love the formula and the brushes, but I’ve got a few chips and I did them Sunday. 🙁 (And it’s been so crazy hot I’ve been forced to keep my polishes in the fridge since I don’t have a/c!)
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
Definitely alone, since I’m constantly interacting with people all day. I need a balance!
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
Robin Williams. Maybe kinda weird for a young girl, but after Mrs. Doubtfire and Hook came out, how could you not love him, especially with all the charity and USO work?
Heather L says
1. How often do you venture out of your makeup comfort zone?
One of the great things about being a college student is you can get away with trying out all kinds of makeup that would not be acceptable in an office! When I am at the office, I stick to nudes and pinks. But at school – anything goes – and I make sure it does! The “rules” say I am too old for bright makeup and that unusual colors are a no-go (like blue lipstick) but I have every color of the rainbow in my collection!
2. What’s a makeup, skin care or hair care product that’s been rocking your world lately?
Such a tough question – so many good products right now! For skincare, I’d have to say the GlamGlow Powercleanse foaming face wash. It has two pumps with different formulas that you combine into the silkiest, most incredibly scented foam that leaves you feeling like you just had a facial, and the best part – if you don’t want to pay those top dollar prices for the face masks in the GlamGlow line this is a much cheaper alternative that I enjoy as much as I do the masks! As for makeup, this combo: the Marc Jacobs Beauty Brush #15 blush brush with Nars Dual Intensity blushes (especially Fervor and Frenzy!) I know, those came out a while ago, but this month I finally found the perfect dense brush for applying this formula, and it’s like discovering these for the first time! These are my favorite blushes in my collection, and now I love them more than ever! If I have to choose a newer product, I’d say the Too Faced Born This Way foundation. I haven’t reached for another foundation since I came home with this. It covers well while still looking natural, and even gives my face a glow my other foundations didn’t. I’m hooked!
3. What are you wearing on your nails right meow?
Good Grief with To Be or Not To Beagle (sorry kitty!) These are from OPI’s Charlie Brown Halloween collection last year, and I am still loving them! These two are an awesome combo!
4. When you take breaks during the workday (I hope you take breaks), do you like to take them with someone else, or do you prefer to spend the time alone?
If I had time for breaks, I’d like some time alone. I’m a full time student who works full time and volunteers though, so breaks are not in my vocabulary right now!
5. Someone you admired when you were a kid?
I had a couple of elementary school teachers who were real mentors that I really admired. And, of course, my cat, Kitty!
