I lived in Newark for 18 months, otherwise, San Jose for 39ish years…. Napa looks beautiful. If I didn’t work in tech, I’d love to live up there!!!

Does dessert count? I made a dessert for my brother and his college roommates that consists of a casserole dish with a layer of chocolate chip cookie dough, topped with a layer of double stuffed oreos, topped with a layer of family sized fudgey brownie batter, with a 1/2 cup of fudge mixed into the brownies. Bake it all for 55 minutes and serve with ice cream to make it even more healthy 🙂

2. What level of coverage do you prefer when it comes to your face makeup products?
Light! I usually wear maybelline’s bb cream, which has very sheer coverage.

3. What’s your favorite yoga pose?
The sun salutation.

4. Favorite flower?
Lilies, especially asiatic lilies.

5. You receive your choice of lollipops today as a reward for being just plain awesome. Which flavor do you choose?
Aw, thanks! Strawberry, please.

6. Have you ever lived with roommates?
No, I’m not sure how I’d handle that.

7. Have you ever ridden/driven in a convertible?
No, I haven’t, but I absolutely love driving with the windows down in the warmer weather. Bad hair is a small price to pay for the feeling of the wind on your face.

8. I’ve always wanted to…
Skydive.

9. Something that doesn’t move you?
Expensive handbags. I would be so worried about getting them dirty, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy them.

10. When’s the best time of year to visit your neck of the woods?
Fall. Oh it’s beautiful here. Blue sky mornings, golden afternoons, and crimson evenings when the sunset shines through the turning leaves. The air is crisp and there’s always a hint of woodsmoke on the air.

Here’s the recipe if you want to give it a whirl! 😀

2 lbs ground sausage (I like to use 1 mild and 1 hot, but you can use 2 mild or 2 hot)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 large white onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
10 cups chicken broth (You can also use 10 chicken boullion cubes and 10 cups of water)
About 7 large Russet potatoes, sliced into disks
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 of a bunch (about 3-4 cups) kale or collard greens, torn into bite sized pieces
Salt and pepper, to taste
Shredded Italian-blend cheese to sprinkle on top
Crusty bread for dipping

In a large soup pot, sauté together the ground sausage and paprika until the meat is browned. Drain off the excess fat and move to a different bowl. Set aside.

In the same pot, sauté the onions and garlic until softened, about 10 to 15 minutes. Add the chicken broth and heat until boiling. Add the sliced potatoes, cover, and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes. Add the cream, kale or collards, and sausage and cook until heated thoroughly. Sprinkle cheese on top and serve with crusty bread for dipping.

One of the boys was fantastic (he always gives 100% effort) but the team as a whole didn’t do well. My other little guy was so sick that he actually had to come off the bench in our last game because he thought he was going to throw up. Poor, little bird. He insisted he wanted to play but it was easy to see he wasn’t well. 🙁 Other than that, they had a blast. We were all on the same floor in the hotel (which was very liberal about the noise) and they played together and swam in the pool during all our down time. A really great weekend for them. 🙂 I was sorry to read that you had a migraine all weekend. That’s terrible. I’m glad you’re better, though!!
