Well, it isn’t much of a poll. It’s more just a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I’ve been putting out to readers every Monday morning for the past four years. I’ve always enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I hope you enjoy reading mine.

In a word, happy. 🙂 The birds are singing outside my office window right now, and that always puts a smile on my face.
I have! I used it religiously when I was 14 and stuck with it for about a year.
Now that I think about it, I can’t remember why I stopped, but it was probably boredom, or I just got distracted by something else and moved on… That happened a lot when I was that age.
I still know people who swear by it, though, and I might give it another try.
I have fallen in love with a few other Clinique skin care products over the years, like their Rinse-Off Foaming Cleaners (I loved this stuff back in college when my skin was epically oily!), Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and Mild Clarifying Lotion.
When the weather’s nice, and my allergies aren’t going ballistic, I like to take a walk outside. But if I can’t get outside, then I try to find a quiet place where I can sit by myself, close my eyes and concentrate on my breathing for a few minutes.
That always takes the edge off.
No, not unless cannon-balling counts. 🙂
I have tried it a couple times but never quite got the hang of it. I guess it’s just one of things… I’m a total water baby, but there’s something about diving head first into a body of water that makes me a wee bit nervous.
Most of the time, still. Sparkling when my tummy’s gurgling.
I’ll be wearing NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer on my cheeks and around my mouth to even out my skin tone, MAC Pro Longwear Concealer to hide my dark under-eye circles, Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara to open up my eyes, MAC Concrete Eyeshadow to fill in my brows, Rouge Bunny Rouge Blush Wand in Manet to give my cheeks some color, and bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Spark Plug to make my lips really shine.
I sure am. I’m wearing Clarins HydraQuench SPF 15 on my face and neck.
An ancient oversized navy blue tee with the words “UC Davis” on it that I’ve had forever. It’s not particularly cute or anything. I just think it’s really comfy.
I’ve been very curious about Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum ($79) ever since some gals raved about it in the comments.
I think I might have pick it up when the Sephora VIB sale kicks in on the 29th…
To make it to at least a couple of yoga classes, to remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day (I slacked last week), to finish my to-do list by 6 each day (dare to dream!), and to make an appointment to get my hair did.

2. Have you tried the Clinique 3-Step System? Ya probably once, not impressed at all, but I was very young and didn’t really have any issues and noticed nothing.
3. Something you do to soothe yourself when you start feeling stressed? Big glass of coke with ice, watching reality TV on the DVR with my family in the house somewhere but not in my immediate vicinity – they usually are part of the stress in someway but I need to know they are there.
4. Do you know how to platform/springboard dive? Yep, I was a total fish once I learned to swim (in a lake (which I still find amazing and odd at 9)) and I would go to a high school alone every summer to swim. I would jump off the boards into the 15-20 foot pool as often as the line allowed and I loved it. But I have never mustered the nerve to try a high dive…. someday I know I will. I am afraid of heights but I will try it once.
5. Sparkling water or still? Still. If all that’s available is sparkling I’ll drink it but it’s not a fav and I love salt so I don’t get it.
6. We’re meeting for brunch on Saturday! What makeup will you wear? Depends on my clothes and what I see first in my makeup bag but typically I’ll be a bit fancy. I love color!
7. Are you wearing sun screen today? In my foundation. I don’t go the extra step unless I’m spending a lot of time in the sun. I figure it’s in the foundation and moisturizer. I know, bad for an ex-dept brand counter girl….

9. A pricey beauty indulgence you’d love to try? I have wanted to try LeMer cream for so long but I don’t really have dry skin and the one month of the year that I tend to get dry I always forget. Maybe next year….

1. Mood: stressed! it’s Monday, I have a full week of work & school ahead which means I will have almost no time for anything else! (I shouldn’t even be doing this right now!)
2. Have you tried the Clinique 3-Step System? I have. I also used it in my early teens. I liked it, and I especially liked the packaging – simple and colorful – but I don’t recall it being outstanding. Nowadays, I’m always looking for natural/organic skincare products.
3. Something you do to soothe yourself when you start feeling stressed? Eat. Sad, but true. Thanks to my good genetics, it hasn’t caught up with me yet but if I don’t change it soon I’m headed for trouble! I just started yoga, but it’s difficult to fit into my schedule.
4. Do you know how to platform/springboard dive? No.. I have never been on a diving board in my life!
5. Sparkling water or still? Usually still, but I enjoy sparkling water as well – especially with a wedge of lime, lemon or orange

10. Weekly goals: Just make it to Friday! I applied for a new job today and if I get it, my life will be changing quite a bit.. hopefully I will hear back from them this week. Other than that, I just want to stay on top of school work and house work between real work, while taking care of myself as well!

Hey Karen! Hope your weekend went well… I listened to you and bought Sandy B lipstick… Now I’m clutching it like Gollum and whispering at it in a corner, which is getting me some pretty funny looks from my coworkers… Just kidding, but I really have to say, I <3 it!
Here's what's going on my end:
1. Mood: Pretty chipper. Sunny weather and longer days… Also, just hauled a pretty sweet selection of dresses from Banana Republic & the Gap at 30% off (online orders – you should check it out). Credit card is not happy but Ines sure is!
2. Have you tried the Clinique 3-Step System? Used it in my teens until I was about 22 or so. Now I still use the clarifying lotion in #2 but I use Josie Maran Argan Oil and Ole Henriksen Enlighten Me Pigment Serum along with some La Roche Posay Sunsreen as my main skincare items.
3. Something you do to soothe yourself when you start feeling stressed? Stroke the kitties, take a walk outside, and this one sounds weird, but… Take out an Excel spreadsheet and analyze the sh*t out of the problem! I'm not an analyst for nothing…
4. Do you know how to platform/springboard dive? Nope. Scared sh*tless of heights (but not of water, I'm a very strong swimmer). There is no way in hell I'm jumping off a boingy board from way up!
5. Sparkling water or still? Still water. But I also love me some San Pellegrino!

7. Are you wearing sun screen today? Yes! I wear sunscreen religiously. They aren't that greasy or yucky anymore, which makes it easier.
8. Your favorite t-shirt? This fake "tuxedo" type white long sleeve that I bought off the back of a truck in Korea for $5 – the body is actually like a soft, cotton tee, but it has fake shirtsleeves with pearl buttons and pleats like a tuxedo shirt in a stiffer material. If you hide it inside a cardigan it looks all dressy but it's actually SUPER comfy, and it can look great with a pencil skirt for work, or dressed down with jeans for the weekend.
9. A pricey beauty indulgence you’d love to try? Hakuhodo brushes, La Prairie skincare & the Clarisonic face brush.
10. Weekly goals: Shopping ban until May. Spent too much on dresses & accessories :(. Get my glasses readjusted (I have a high prescription and they tend to bow outwards after a few months). Wake up at 6:30AM instead of 7AM to be able to stretch a bit and not rush.

lips: some chapstick and nars velvet matte lip pencil in bettina
scent: bath and body works pink chiffon since its gotten too hot to wear heavier scents around here!

9. A pricey beauty indulgence you’d love to try? i already use caudalie’s vinoperfect radiance serum … and i think thats as high as ill go. the full size bottle lasts a good 6-8 months, since i need so very little. in the long run, its actually cost effective.

Yes! I wear Olay moisturizer with SPF 15 every day. I also bought Eucerin body lotion with SPF now that it’s getting warmer and I’m not all bundled up in long sleeves and jackets.

I have a long sleeve black t-shirt that I bought at a Bush concert years ago. It has a blue sunflower on the front and a list of tour dates on the back.

Try and keep up with the housework each day so it all doesn’t pile up at the end of the week.
I don’t watch Mad Men, but I did see The Hunger Games movie. I thought it was a great book to movie adaptation. I loved seeing the world of Panem come to life and I was happy to see Buttercup the cat make a cameo. Now we only have to wait until November 2013 for the next movie. 🙂

2. Have you tried the Clinique 3-Step System? yes, I have. I used it for a couple of years in my late teens and then my skin started to change and so did my skin care regimine…many, many times over!
3. Something you do to soothe yourself when you start feeling stressed? If i can’t get away then I try to find a quiet place where I can be alone and calm myself. Otherwise, I’ll go for a walk and/or shopping.
4. Do you know how to platform/springboard dive? I did as a kid but I won’t do it now. I’ll jump in from the edge of a pool, but not a board.
5. Sparkling water or still? I prefer still, but when my tummy isn’t quite right, fizzy water helps. Oh, and I used to love new york seltzer back in the day…wow, that dated me.

1. Mood: Ugh. I’m still struggling with a vicious cold (its the 3rd week 🙁 ), so I’m hopped up on cold meds and at work, where things need to be accomplished. only problem is I’m 100% out of it, and can’t focus.. so ugh.
2. Have you tried the Clinique 3-Step System? Yes. I was a religious follower of the 3 step system for about 2-3 years during college. I still love the mild soap wash and the different gel moisturizer (I hate the lotion), but the toner scares me! The ingredient list contains things I just don’t think should be going on my skin, which is why I stopped using that step.
3. Something you do to soothe yourself when you start feeling stressed? Music. Books. The like. I try to logically talk myself down, which sometimes works.
4. Do you know how to platform/springboard dive? No. I was never a big water person as my ears couldn’t handle the pressure changes, and in fact I couldn’t submerge myself under water for like 2 years of my childhood.
5. Sparkling water or still? Still please. sparkling (or at least the versions I’ve tried) taste bitter. I do like sparkling flavoured water, but that usually has sugar or aspartame in it, so I just stick with still.
6. We’re meeting for brunch on Saturday! What makeup will you wear? Umm, my current smashbox tinted moisturizer, Benefit concealer. Then a bright blush (probably Tarte dollface or NARS desire), some lip chap and some neutral stuff on my eyes (Naked palette, or Hourglass Gypsy duo), curled eyelashes and some Bad Girl Lash mascara.

They’re still pretty good, but you can’t really see them unless there’s really bright sunshine! My mom and I were talking about that saying they’re a little too dark and little too sparse. When I get them done again, I’m going to go a bit brighter and get more in because they are so hard to see!
I’m actually surprised the color has stayed so well because she didn’t bleach the areas before she colored them and that usually helps colors like purple. That and with my washing my hair everyday, you’d expect a lot of fading and it hasn’t faded. Maybe the tiniest bit, but not much! I guess I have super shampoo and conditioner? My hair normally doesn’t hold color very well!
Are you going to get your pink highlights redone or are you going to try something different?

Just finished up my 4 workdays in a row (Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues), so I finally get a little break. I have been reading a lot of historical fiction from the Civil War era. Maryland and Virginia have a lot of history! I live right down the street from Frederick’s Civil War battlefield. Check out “Noble Cause” by Jessica James. You won’t be able to put it down! It is the happier ending version of her novel “Shades of Grey.” The book is based in Virginia in the Civil War era.

2. Have you tried the Clinique 3-Step System?
No. I mix my skin care routine up from time to time so it isn’t that I love my current one. Its just, I suppose ‘not convenient’ to go out of my way to try/buy.
3. Something you do to soothe yourself when you start feeling stressed?
I admit to being not very good at cooling myself down as I get stressed but I try talking to friends (not usually about the issue) or reading a book.
4. Do you know how to platform/springboard dive?
Wow. That would be a cool skill. No. And after breaking my own nose with my knee at beginners gymnastics jumping (falling) into the pit – maybe it isn’t really my thing.

Still. always.

On a Saturday? A pretty complete face. Though still probably not loud or outrageous eye make-up or anything. Though who knows. Saturdays are my one day completely off. So I go a little bit crazy ;-).

I have a tinted moisturiser with SPF 15?
8. Your favorite t-shirt?
It isn’t a t-shirt (I only really have T-shirts for gym etc) but my go-to weekender shirt is a navy blue polo with white piping which was a training shirt from a bowling team I was on years ago. and the only polo I own that never EVER needs to be ironed. I wish I could work out why that was. the material is AMAZING.

Nope, but I did use their all about eyes for a long time. I’ve upgraded to Rhonda Allison and Vasseur skincare now that my skin has decided to become insanely sensitive.

Well, if I”m at home, then drink a glass of red wine! If I’m at work or school, then put on my headphones and listen to Pandora.

No, I’m terrified of missing the water and breaking my neck! (I have unrealistic fears haha)

Still, but sparkling is good with some fresh fruit juice!

Something out of the ordinary since I don’t gotta be in the office (e.g. surrounded by men who don’t even know taupe is a color lol). Probably a shimmery purple on the center of the lid, a satin or matte taupe in the crease, and a champagne to highlight brow bone and inner corner. Youngblood pressed blush in Nectar (new favie!) and gloss in Guava to finish off! Oh and of course filling in my brows, mascara, and some concealer/foundation. (Too detailed? hehe)
7. Are you wearing sun screen today?
Everyday! I wear spf 25 ’cause I’m so fair! Vasseur Day25 cream is my go to sun screen since chemical sunblock irritates my skin. (That and skin cancer runs in my dad’s side of the family…)
8. Your favorite t-shirt?
Hmmm…this black, no name, cotton stretchy one that I’ve had forever. It’s worn in and soo comfy!
9. A pricey beauty indulgence you’d love to try?
Treatment for rosacea, but I gotta graduate college first to afford something like that!
10. Weekly goals: wake up on time…mornings are not my friend! And now that you mention it, I need to up my H2O intake as well, otherwise I tend to get headaches. Oh and have fun 🙂

Nope, but my mum bought it when I was a kid, and she had a severe allergic reaction, so I’ve steered clear.

OCC Tint, Korres mascara, and whatever leftover lipgloss from the week is in my bag. Saturdays for me are a day to dress down – unless I’m home alone and creating a fun look for the blog.

Yesssirreeee bob. Every day – SPF30 and it’s a physical barrier, not a chemical one. I’m such a makeup missionary when it comes to knowing the difference.
8. Your favorite t-shirt?
Something from Worn Free that I bought in Singapore years and years ago – either the Joey Ramone one or the Debbie Harry one. They’re a little bit rock n roll, yeah, but above all supremely comfortable and go with just about anything.
9. A pricey beauty indulgence you’d love to try?
Tom Ford makeup anything but I can’t justify the price.

Start getting up early to do pilates in my living room
Hand wash all my woollen and silk delicates

2. Have you tried the Clinique 3-Step System? Yes, I also used it for many moons in my teens but switched because I needed something that was a bit better at controlling breakouts.
3. Something you do to soothe yourself when you start feeling stressed? I guess I move around (work out, take a walk or drive) or I talk about it. I’m high strung, but not stressed, so I don’t really have a coping mechanism.
4. Do you know how to platform/springboard dive? Oh, you betcha. I used to love doing jackknives and front/back flips. Our hs pool had a nice diving board that was about 10′ high and we could get big air on that. My friend had an inground pool when we were growing up and we used to scare her mother to death with our diving board antics. Thanks for that walk down Fun Memory Lane! 🙂

8. Your favorite t-shirt? Wow, so many choices. I have a Washington Capitals distressed T with the Weagle on the front that I like a lot. My “Team Hammer” with NF’s face on it (gift from a friend) also gets a lot of wear.

Nope.. only wear sunscreen when I’m out at the beach tanning. Don’t really need it, I have south-east Asian blood and my doctor said I already have a the protection because of my thick and darker skin.

One from H&M, a white sleeveless shop with an anchor and a sentence in golden.
