Got a touch of the Monday blues this morning, but it’s just a minor case.
A low, loose ponytail (with a headband)
No, not really, but I would like to get back in killer running shape and finally get at least a few pieces of new furniture for the condo. I’d love to sneak in a weekend trip to Tahoe at some point, and maybe another one to San Diego if it works out.
Two slices of whole wheat toast with a generous layer of — wait for it — Nutella!
Nothing yet, but I set aside the Clarins Instant Sun Light Eye Quartet & Liner Palette and Smooth Compact Highlighter for my makeup today.
Turning down the opportunity to go to law school. Deep down inside I knew it wasn’t right for me, and I’ve never rarely looked back.
My sense of humor (I guess I should have started this one with a joke) 🙂
I told myself that if I meet my goals this week I can swing by Anthropologie on Friday to pick up this dress as a reward. LOL! Sometimes maintaining a positive attitude requires mental slight of hand (or straight-up bribery).
I’m still in my jammies — dark gray yoga pants, a white tank top and a blue zip-up sweatshirt
Keep checking tasks off my to-do list (I really want that dress!), get better about stretching every day, complete the 30 Day Shred at least three times, and drink a big glass of water first thing every morning (fitness experts say, among water’s many other benefits, it’s also a good source of energy).
What’s up, girls? I’m loaded up on allergy meds (thank ye gods for Zyrtec and Flonase!) and ready for anything nature throws at me!

3. What are your plans this summer?: Last week I found out I got a job back home, so I’ll be spending my summer in the Bay Area with my family and friends 🙂

1. Mood: Giddy – even though I’m skipping the gym and that normally makes me feel guilty. I will be getting toes done during lunch with a co-worker. Hopefully, we’ll get crazy summer toes and not chicken out settling for a typical red polish.

3. What are your plans this summer? SoCal trip end of next month. That’s about it. But hoping for a week either in Mexico or the Carribean for my birthday in September!

I only get a half hour for lunch and it’s super early at 11:30, so I decided to take on the stairs at work, the building has 16 flights! Little by little I’m building up my endurance, I go up all 16 floors with breaks on 8, 12 and 16 then right back down 🙂 once I’ve mastered it and built up my endurance, I’ll try and squeeze in 4 or 8 more floors before I have to cool down and change 🙂 wish me luck!
I can’t seem to get motivated to work out at home, I have Exercise TV on Demand, a Wii Fit and a rowing machine and I can’t get my lazy butt to work out, plus I get bored so easily with routine 🙁 I’ve been doing the stairs at work for 2 weeks and still not bored, go me!!!

6. What’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to you? My current job. I’d been working for the company for over 3 years and got to the point where I *hated* my role. A member of the management team poached me to go and work for him, I’ve been doing the job for 5 months and I love it.
7. What’s a quality you like about yourself? Its a weird one, but I always do the right thing. Even when someone has wronged me and I want to get my own back, my brain always forces me to do whats right. Sometimes, I wish it didn’t.
8. Something you’re looking forward to this week: Going out for another run tomorrow and maybe some shopping if I can fit it in.

1. Mood: A little sad as I stare at the beautiful day outside from my office window ïŒ Curse you 9-5 hours!!!

3. What are your plans this summer? To soak up as much sun as possible before I start my post-grad program in the fall. But on a more productive note, work through the ChaLean Extreme workout (anyone tried it?) and begin to learn either Spanish or sign language.
4. What’s the last thing you’ve eaten? The manfriend had the day off work and was taking me out for lunch so I treated myself to chicken shwarma with rice and salad (half of which is sitting in a take-out container waiting to be eaten when I get home) Yum ïŠ.

6. What’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to you? I thought it would much be easier to answer this. Would have to say living at home while attending university vs. living on campus or moving in with friends. As dorky as it sounds, most of my friends made some really bad choices when living away from home. I was able to stay grounded while going through a very important stage of life because I had my family watching over me.
7. What’s a quality you like about yourself? I love to laugh! Not just the chuckling under your breath kind of laughs…the laugh that makes you cry and fall of your chair because you’re going to pee your pants kinda laugh! Although…I don’t suppose that’s so much a quality as a…thing. Regardless, if you think you’re not funny, just hang out with me. I’ll laugh at your jokes.
8. Something you’re looking forward to this week: Iron man comes out this week? Perhaps only because I thought it was out this weekend and was getting all ready to see it only to have my bubble burst.
9. Outfit: Blue skinny jeans, oversized salmon pink t-shirt with a skinny, white, studded belt at the waist (proving to be a bad choice after the schwarma…maybe I can ditch the belt without looking pregnant?) and in true summer spirit- flip flops!!

2. Hair: Air-dried as usual, but I used a new conditioner this morning (Essential Nuance, it’s a Japanese drugstore brand) and my hair is sooooooo soft today! 😀

The SO and I are flying to Germany and Greece for ~2.5 weeks after graduation, then I’m working on campus at both my positions ’till the last week of August or so when I’ll be moving up to San Francisco for my grad program’s boot camp before fall quarter officially starts. 😀

6. What’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to you?: Having the cojones to move to Houston from the east coast my sophomore year of college. I didn’t have any family/friends there, but I was so sick of feeling like I’d be stuck here forever. The two weeks my mother didn’t speak to me was definitely worth the experience of living in Texas for a year! (Although it’s definitely not as gutsy as saying ‘no’ to law school! I’m glad you knew yourself well enough to make such an important decision!)
7. What’s a quality you like about yourself?: My efficiency. Underneath the procrastinator, I’m superduper efficient. I’m learning to get out of procrastination, and it’s definitely a lot more satisfying to get things done than to worry about the things I need to be doing.

Skinny dark wash jeans, crisp white tshirt with a cream coloured tank top layered underneath, pale yellow scarf & lots of bangles. Yay for casual but dressed up work attire.

Have a better attitude at work and try to eat more. (When I get stressed I end up eating way less than 1200 calories.. not good.)

How often do u take the allergy meds? Have u ever tried herbal/natural products instead? I used 2 be on the same allergy meds but 4 a different reason, i was taking them daily for over 6months and only after i stopped taking them and saw my naturopath i found out u really shouldnt take them 4 long periods of time they r pretty bad, they basically shut off my whole histamine-response system which is not good, that led 2 me having terrible sinus problems and also feeling like i had bricks on my chest all the time, which i found out is cos that system is all related 2 ur adrenal system and when it supresses that u can get problems like mine and more…its taken me 3yrs so far 2 get my system back up and running, so i always try and reccommend ppl 2 take the natural products instead and there is plenty of good ones u can take, i also suggest EVERYONE try a naturopath b4 their doc as they look at how 2 fix the whole system with the problem and getting ur system back up 2 tiptop condition, rather than giving meds 2 block problems…

Hiya Karen!
1. Mood: Is it Tuesday already? Monday was cra-zee busy! Charged up on coffee right now!
2. Hair: messy bed head right now. I’ll fix it later after my workout.
3. What are your plans this summer? Grow my hair out, which I’m sure will take all summer and then some. Hopefully sell our house in NH.
4. What’s the last thing you’ve eaten? 2 Biscoff cookies with my morning coffee. I’ll have egg and matzoh later.
5. Eyes/lips/cheeks: Nothing yet, but planning on a taupe shimmer shadow, dk. brown liner, and my new favorite mascara, Rimmel’s Sexy Curves Waterproof. It’s amazing! Lips will be BE coral Buxom Lips. I’m actually preferring the BE line of lip glosses over my precious MAC!
6. What’s one of the best things that’s ever happened to you? In college, as a coxswain for two crew boats (JV men & JV women), we were the only boats who won our match races against a rival college despite the fact that our coach never gave us any coaching (that job fell to me, and these were people who had never rowed before!). The coach came up to me afterward (we didn’t have a good relationship as you can gather) to compliment the job I did. Victory is truly sweet. And then I quit the team after the end of the season.
7. What’s a quality you like about yourself? I’m a very empathetic person.
8. Something you’re looking forward to this week: If I had answered yesterday, it would have been going to dinner at our favorite local place, which we did last night.
9. Outfit: Still in my PJ’s–teal print bottoms and teal T.
