Kate says
Karen–
Ugh, I can’t imagine being a Victoria. I don’t look like a Victoria either.
Oh yes, Zena loves being brushed when she wants to be brushed. If I brush her just right, she falls asleep on the floor. She has two brushes right now with one with two brushes (one on each side). I think I’m going to get another brush for her that specializes in raking out the shedding fur from her undercoat.

It seems too creamy to me. Too much of a good thing I guess or maybe my lids are too slippery when I apply it, although I was able to do a nice cat eye, thanks to Romero’s tutorial on the MAC site!

So I have to admit that half of me is all girly and loves Valentine’s Day…and the other half just thinks it silly and commercialized and that we should show our loved ones that we love them all the time. I decided this year to make his present for Valentine’s Day…which is a love notes jar. This is something we did in sorority – where all the members would write nice little notes to the new girls and they would get a jar…or occasionally a wooden box with all these nice notes about them. ANYWAY I have tons of e-mails and text messages saved from since I met boyf…and I went to Michaels and picked up nice paper as well as some scissors and punches to make it all decorative and I used rub on transfers then a glaze, as well as some ribbons to decorate the jar. Now I just have to finish writing out all the little notes for in the jar.
Kate says
I have heard of the Furminator (or the Fur buster) and was thinking about buying it…until I saw was it looked like and the price at Target. It looks like a normal brush you use to get to the undercoat (a horizontal comb on a handle) with an attachment and it was $20! I stood there looking between the $5 brushes that look like the Furminator and the $20 Furminator and honestly couldn’t tell the difference besides the fact the Furminator was packaged and smaller. I was a bit peeved I couldn’t get the $5 one as I didn’t have enough cash on me at the time. I will get one when I go to Petsmart for more Eukanuba.
The Pedipaws thing looked ridiculous too when I saw it at Target. You’re basically paying $20 for a plastic tool that looks like it’ll break on the first use. I thought about getting it for Zena because she despises having her toenails clipped (she wages WWIII). After one look at that flimsy thing and I said, “Zena is just going to have to live with getting the nails trimmed at the vet. I’m not paying $20 for that when I can pay $20 for the vet to clip them.”
Karen says
Hi Fidigum,
That is a FANTASTIC palette. I love that one, too. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Megan,
My psychology teacher from high school had us do something like that at the end of the school year. Each student had to write one positive thing about each person in the class and then give it to them. I still have those little slips of paper to this day. I take ’em out every once in awhile to read and they always bring a smile to my face.
I bet your sweetie will swoon when you give him his gift. That’s so thoughtful and sweet! Are you almost done with it?
Karen says
Hi Kate,
OMG, I was tempted by the Pedipaws! I saw the infomercial late one night and I just kept cracking up because the cat they demonstrated it on looked really cranky. I doubt Tabs would let me clip his nails though — he’d bust a Zena if I even tried. 🙂
Kate says
Haha, I’m trying to imagine a cat getting it’s claws clipped. I can’t see it. Most cats I’ve been around have been declawed or they are outside kitties so their nails are naturally worn down.
