MAC Haute Dogs or MAC Fabulous Felines — which team are you on?
Goooooo, CATS! I’m Team Cat this time. 🙂 I loved the three color stories from the Fabulous Felines collection, and I think that launch was the first time MAC did a lot of colors for the Superslick Liquid Eye Liners. I also liked the different combination of colors in the quads. They really did look like cat fur! — but were still very wearable and interesting at the same time.
From MAC Haute Dogs, I like the lip colors, and I think the quads are easy to blend, but they’re also kind of sheer…

Yeah I think Haute Dogs doesn’t compare to the awesomeness that Fabulous Felines was!
I still have 2 Superslick Eyeliners from that collection, I didn’t realize they were 5 years old… might be time to toss them :p
Karen says
I have some Superslicks from that launch too, and I still use them! They still work great.

Fabulous Felines was my first MAC purchase! I think it was called Drive Me Wild?
Karen says
Hi Chelsea,
Yes it was! Loved that shade. 🙂

Cats, because the colors fit the theme much better, and were more interesting with the yellows and greens. The Burmese set was my favorite, but I didn’t manage to grab any of it.
Karen says
Hi Rachel R.!
That set was one of my favorites too. Loved the Superlicks in that subset, along with the funky green Lipglass. Ahh, memories!
Hope you had a nice Thursday. I just got back from dinner with our neighbors (went to Cheesecake Factory). It was fun!
Rachel R. says
I haven’t been to the Cheesecake Factory. I keep meaning to, but the closest one is a couple towns over. I’m glad you had fun going out. I had a good Thursday. I did a Nyx haul at Ulta and spent way too much money.

Fabulous felines?! How did I miss that collection? I’ve been a fan since Barbie loves MAC!
Karen says
Hi Rachel,
Barbie was my first MAC makeup love too. Fabulous Felines came out in the fall of 2010, and it was amazing. IF you want to see some swatches, here ya go!

I don’t remember the felines collection. I like Haute Dogs-well at least the concept-but I think they could have executed it better. The products are meh to me and just don’t scream buy me! lol.
Karen says
Hi Elena,
It was very cool. There were three sub-collections based on cats! It came out in the fall of 2010. Here are swatches if you’re curious:

I really wasn’t into makeup by the time Fabulous felines was released, but Haute dogs is a kinda boring collection for me. Not interesting at all. After reading your review of Fabolous Felines collection, I definetely prefer that one.
Hannah says
Fabulous Felines was the first MAC collection I ever bought from. I still wear my Aristo-cat lipstick and love it. I guess it’s a bit old now though… Haha
Ash says
For sure Fabulous Felines! I loved that collection and still use my quads. I remember being obsessed with Kittenish lipstick for a long time. That collection was just so fall and I loved all the greens and browns and golds. I’m mad I didn’t get the Superslicks! As for Haute Dogs – I’ve never been a fan of MAC’s Mineralize Eye Shadows because the colour payoff is weak, and I can tell from swatches from this collection that has not changed. I think it’s great for people who like barely-there make-up but it’s just not for me. 🙂 I feel like they released a lot of unique colours with FF but not so much with HD.

Hey – totally fab felines! I have a new colour trio for you in honour of my dilute torties; grey, cream and fawn.
Now – just for kicks – Which MAC Haute Dog are you? Buuzzfeed made a quiz already!

Haute Dogs collection is so sofisticated, so perfect. I’m a cat lady but the concept and art of Haute Dogs appeals me more than the Felines this time
LindaLibraLoca says
I spend way too much money on the Fabulous Felines Collection back then and still use the eyeshadows and the pigments as well as two lipsticks. The Haute Dog Collection doesnt get me that excited.
Ericca says
Fabulous Felines was a huge collection- four eyeshadow palettes ,lipsticks and other items. I felt like that was a full collection. This is like a sample of a collection.
