I realize that there’s absolutely NOTHING lust-inducing about makeup remover. Nothing. But sometimes you just gotta take a break from all the schmexy makeup dreams (I’m talking to you, Charlotte Tilbury), and put stuff on your lust list that, ya know, you actually need.
On that note…
- R+Co Analog Cleansing Foam Conditioner ($29) — La, la, la! Don’t mind me as I fall deeper into the hole that is my current R+Co obsession! Analog is the brand’s approach to conditioner washing. Technically, it’s called a cleansing foam conditioner, so I’m assuming that it’s light, fluffy and mousse-y. And if it’s anything like the other R+Co products I’ve tried and have fallen head over heels for, it’s probably all sorts of amazing and smells divine.
- Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder in Golden Glow ($56) — Even though I don’t need another highlighter AT ALL, this one by Dior looks like perfection.
- SEPHORA COLLECTION Lavender Foot Mask ($5) — Why? Because I looked down the other day and saw Fred Flintstone’s feet. 🙁
- Bioderma Sensibio Make-up Removing Micelle Solution ($14.50) and H2O Wipes ($9.90) — Completely not sexy at all, but I’m running dangerously low on liquid eye makeup remover and makeup wipes. It’s time to restock. I went through a huge bottle of Bioderma a few months ago and used every last drop because it removes everything, including long-wearing mascara and liner. But I’ve never tried the makeup wipes… I hope they’re just as good as the liquid. Have you tried ’em before?
- Milk Makeup Flex Concealer ($28) — I’ve been using and loving Sunshine Skin Tint by Milk Makeup, and now I want to try some of their other face products, like their Flex Concealer, which is supposed to be full-coverage and fab.
- Fresh Fresh Life Body Oil ($48) — I’ve obviously been living far away from society in a secluded cave somewhere because I had NO idea that Fresh made a Body Oil version of Fresh Life, my favorite scent in the line. Based on the ingredient list, it looks promising. The first five things on the list are oils (sweet almond, sunflower, apricot kernel, jojoba and purple passionflower). Waaaaaant!
- Leahlani Champagne Serum ($32) — I’m going to try to track down this face serum while I’m in Hawaii next week. It’s a local brand from Kauai, and their Champagne Serum (“Happy hour for your face”) is loaded with antioxidants to make your skin happy…and I really want to make my skin happy. 🙂
- Kate Spade Kasie Sunglasses ($180) — I’m still kicking myself for not buying that pair of black Kate Spade sunnies at Nordstrom Rack a couple weeks ago… The more I think about them, the deeper I slip into the hole of retail regret. Damn! I hope the store restocks them soon. Until then, I’ll just obsess over Kate’s Kasie sunnies.
Got any restocks on your lust list this week? If you do, I’m sure they can’t be as boring as makeup remover, LOL!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. I started packing for my trip last night, and so far…I’m not doing very well with the whole “packing light” thing.
Is there some biological leftover from ye olde cavewoman days that fuels the need to bring everything in my suitcase?? I’m trying to be rational about it, but what’s the deal? Why do I have the unrelenting urge to over pack.

I feel like the only person in the universe who doesn’t like micellar waters! I’ve tried Bioderma, I’ve tried Simple, I’ve tried all the commonly recommended brands! I find it takes a ton of product to get my makeup off, like two or three times as much cleansing oil as I’d need to use, and I don’t even wear waterproof mascara (most days I don’t wear mascara at all!). I also find it leaves foundation behind in my pores. It just confuses me so much, because everyone raves about it!
Anyway, I’m hoping to pick up The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% to replace my current vitamin c serum which is about to go bad! I’ll also replace my Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% at the same time, since I’m about 3/4 through my tube and LOVE it. I’ll probably also get a replacement Wayne Goss Air Brush (praying it stays in stock long enough for me to drum up some money) because I lost mine and I’m totally devastated! They should totally consider making it permanent, it’s by far my favorite powder brush of all time.
I’m trying not to think too much about spending, since I just had to drop a whole bunch of cash on a new computer. My old one died (in the middle of finals week, taking all my documents with it) and I only now was able to get a new one!
Karen says
Hi Katie,
Bummer about your computer. Did you get through finals alright, though?

The Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder in Golden Glow is so gorgeous! I don’t need any highlighters either but then again need and want are soooo different 😉
Karen says
It’s so pretty! It comes in a few colors, too.

I LOVE the Sephora Hand and Foot masks…I put them on before bed, leave them on overnight, and when I was up in the morning, all four paws are baby-soft!!!
Karen says
Hi Sandra,
Ahh, I didn’t realize you could wear them overnight. Gonna try that! Have you used the lavender one?
Sandra says
I HAVE used the lavender one too, and I love both of them equally.
I figured since they’re moisturizing, it wouldn’t hurt to leave them on overnight. ?
Karen says
I hope I can keep mine on overnight, LOL! Gonna stop by soon to grab it. 🙂

I’m with Katie, I just don’t get micellar waters for cleansing. I think they’re great for fixing mistakes and cleaning up swatches, but that’s it.
I just tried the R+Co Atlantis Moisture Shampoo. While it wasn’t as moisturizing as what I had been using, the conditioner was fantastic and I loved the scent of it. I still have two more sample packets of it, so I’m hoping to decide yes or no by then.
I love Kate Spade sunglasses. I was always losing my sunglasses, so I bought a couple of pairs during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Now that I have multiple pairs, I haven’t lost any of them.

I just picked up one of the almond foot masks from Sephora, along with some hand masks! I have an important meeting on Thursday and my hands look like hell from circus. My feet look like hell too, but they won’t see my feet at the meeting :p I also just got a new bottle of Bioderma, along with some stuff from the Ordinary from Beautylish (restocking the Niacinamide and Zinc, trying out the 2% retinoidI was down to the last drop. I’ve heard the wipes aren’t as gentle, so I haven’t tried them.

I think I’m pretty late to the K-beauty trend but maybe CVS just got a whole section of it and the packaging is irresistible! I’ve tried a Frudia blueberry moisturizer that is perfect for summer. I think it’s good you started packing early because now you have time to decide what you do and don’t need. I’m a night before the trip packer and it’s awful!

Oh, a foot mask by Sephora? I don’t really like their sheet masks, they just don’t feel as if they do much apart from hydrating on my face, but I would love some TLC for my feet. Plus lavender smells so soothing.

I’ve tried the R+CO Cleansing Foam Conditioner and the first time I used it, I really liked how soft my hair was and how it felt clean, but when I used it the following day and it just wasn’t enough “cleaning”. My hair came out greasy looking like there just wasn’t enough cleaning to really clean for the two days and I don’t use product in my hair, my hair just gets oily, quickly.
I continued using it because its a great conditioner, and maybe once in awhile as a two in one, but I couldn’t use it as my one stop shop.
That being said, its probably great for people with dry hair 🙂
Karen says
Hi Emery,
Ooh, thanks for the info! I have dry-ish hair (and I’m a veteran conditioner washer) so I think I’ll like it.
Have you tried any other R+Co items? I love the leave-in conditioner, High Dive.
Emery says
Their clarifying shampoo and conditioner, Oblivion, is good stuff. I have a sample of their dry shampoo paste that I want to try out of pure curiosity (dry shampoo paste sounds like an oxymoron!)
Maybe I’ll try High Dive on my poor color treated ends 🙂

Leahlani’s Champagne Serum is great stuff. It smells amazing! I don’t usually go on about a product’s scent (generally being sensitive to scented products), but this stuff is heaven in a bottle. I genuinely want to bathe in it! It’s a really lush product that goes on beautifully and feels indulgent even though it’s very well priced for a serum. I hope you’re able to get your hands on it!

Bioderma is my HD for micellar water. This is coming from someone who refused to give into the hype at first. Haven’t tried the wipes, but I’d hope they’d be just as effective with makeup removal. I hope they re-stock on those Kate Spade sunnies. I love mine!
Trude says
I’m so excited you guys get to go to Hawaii, this time with the bebe! Are you super excited? And are you packing loads of baby Dramamine (like my parents always did on our flights to Norway)? 😉
I haven’t tried Bioderma, but I love Simple’s micellar water for a quick swipe in the morning to start fresh without drying my skin – ever since we moved to Reno (and I got into my 30s) I want ALL the moisture. I’ll have to check it out now that more places are carrying it!

The Dior Luminizer in 003 (Golden Glow) is totally worth the splurge! I originally purchased 001 (Pink) and received so many compliments that I picked up 003 🙂
Also, Bioderma makeup remover is the best thing ever, but their makeup remover wipes hit the mark. I picked them up for a trip and they just didn’t have enough product on them and the material wasn’t the best. I would recommend the Marcelle wipes in the blue packaging. Plus they’re cruelty free!
