I told myself that if I run three times this week, I can reward myself with something from today’s Lust List…
Never have I been so motivated to lace up my sneakers.
See, that’s the secret to working out — straight-up bribery! 🙂
Here’s some of the stuff I’m currently lusting after…
- Chanel Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Eyeshadow ($36) — These potted cream shadows are like Pokemon in that you gotta catch ’em all! I have a few of these, and I love them, so, of course, the next logical step would be to hoard the browns.
This one is 806 Terre Brulee, and it looks like Bambi’s coat.
I have dreams of owning every single color in the line.
- Senita Athletics Swift Shorts in Black ($24, but currently on sale for $19) — Thank you, Abbey, for the heads up about this indie workout wear shop for women. These shorts are similar to the Athleta ones from last week’s list but more affordable. They’ve got a hidden compression layer underneath the actual shorts, so the person behind you in class won’t see your booty cheeks hanging out when you’re doing squats.
I’ve been combing through the reviews, and it sounds like the products are generally well made and affordable. Hello, promising!
- Jetoy iPhone 7 Case ($24) — I wanna upgrade my phone just so I can roll around with this banana cat on my case. I LOVE HIM!!!
- Jetoy Cat Face T-Shirt ($38) — Is there such a thing as too many cat-themed tees? I don’t think so!
I like the draping cut of this tee. It sure looks comfy.
- Giorgio Armani Life is a Cruise Sunset Eye Palette ($88) — When I think of sunset eyes, I usually think an ombre effect with sunset colors like red, orange and yellow, so this approach by Armani is a surprise.
Generally, I find Armani’s eyeshadows to be lovely but overpriced… That dark green on the bottom, though, has me feeling something-something, and I dig the wave design on the pan.
- Viseart Theory Highlighter, Blush & Bronzer in Enamored and Ablaze ($45 each) — I bought my first Viseart eye palette at the last VIB sale, and dang if it wasn’t my gateway product for the brand. Now I wanna try their new face palettes, which have a bronzer, blush and highlighter.
I’m all about Ablaze, which is the one with the coral blush in the middle.
- First Aid Beauty FAB Skin Lab Retinol Serum 0.25% ($58) — Eventually, I plan to get a prescription retinoid up in my skin care mix, but I think I have to get my skin accustomed to the weaker retinol version first.
I’ve heard that this 0.25% serum works well for sensitive skin types, but I’m a little confused as to why it has vitamin C in it, because I’ve read that you want to avoid layering retinols and vitamin C together.
Eh, I might ask for a sample anyway at Sephora next time I go.
- Clinique Pop Lip Shadow Cushion Matte Lip Powders ($19.50 each) — I’m so curious about these!
They look like shadows…and they have a powder formula, but they’re for your lips.
What!? Mind blown.
I’m dying to find out if these are good! Of course I want to try the bright colors first, and Fuchsia Pop is at the top of my list (well, it’s at the bottom of this list, but you know what I mean).
OK, girlfriend, sharing is caring. Now that you know what’s on my list this week, I need to know what’s on yours.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

That’s some cool stuff right there! And that Armani palette caught my eye too! Funny, was actually looking at it maybe 10-15mins ago, haha! As for the retinol, sounds like a great plan. Currently I’m on Differin and it seems to be working out really well for me.
What I really want right now would be a Santal Royal perfume from Guerlain. It’s weird, but it reminds me so much of when I was a kid going through my mom’s drawers. Not sure why, but I absolutely loved that activity, even if I already knew everything that was in there. One in particular had a sandalwood fan stored in it, which nobody ever used, but it really diffused an amazing scent which immediately struck you when opening the drawer. This perfume smells *exactly* like my memories and just gives me a happy feeling… Really wanting it. 🙂

Isn’t it amazing how powerful scents are? When I think of my mom I think of Dior’s Poison. When I was growing up, she always had a bottle on her drawer.
Did you hear back yet from the job? *crosses fingers*
LK says
Hey! Yes, it really is… 🙂
And can you believe it – yes they did get back to me yesterday! So… it’s a bit complicated, but the shorter version is that they thought nobody ticked *all* their boxes for the job, but that I came closest, of all the candidates. So they took some time to think what to do (hence me not hearing back for ages), and decided to give me a fixed 6-month contract / probation time, to see how I do on the job. Basically, I got it for now, and hopefully I’ll do well there – in which case they will give me the job longer term. 🙂 All in all, good news!

I think we’re on the same wavelength–I’m lusting after the new Chanel Les Beiges eyeshadow palette which has yet to be released, despite my checking the website at least 5 times a day. Also, hadn’t seen that Armani palette, but was after the NARS Charlotte Gainsbourg eyeshadow duo in Rue Allent. Similar colors, right?! Finally, for me, not sure I’m daring enough for the Clinique lip powder yet, but the Lancome Matte Shaker in one of the pinks. I’m all about a rowdy pink ATM.
I’m desperate to try the new L’Artisan Histoire d’Orangers. Love an orange blossom, I do.

This GA palette is so pretty but so expensive! Then again, it’s Armani… I’m on a spending ban for the foreseeable future, but wouldn’t mind this landing on my beauty table by magic! 😉

Bribery always works for me too. Maybe I should start running again.

I love that you publish these lust lists. I don’t feel so bad about all the things I’m lusting after.
I just want to try one of the cream shadows from Chanel, because Chanel, right?!!!
I’m curious about the Drunk Elephant sunscreen you posted about, but worry that the tint might be too dark for my skin. MAC NC10-15.
I’m also lusting after that hat you were wearing in that post. Such a pretty style for lots of sun blocking coverage!
I’m hoping to get a sample of the FAB Skin Lab Retinol Serum to try, too! Caroline Hirons who is the queen of skincare mentioned it recently. I can’t remember if it was in a blog post or on YouTube. She says that you CAN layer Vitamin C and retinol, if your skin can handle it.

Loreal have something very similar to clinique and prolly cheaper 🙂 the whole idea is basically taken from the korean makeup world, where those cushion products are very popular. its matte, its fun and it actually lasts quite a bit! give it a go 🙂
