** THE GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED **
This giveaway is closed, and the winner has been contacted (CONGRATULATIONS, MARISSA!!!), but check back next Saturday for another giveaway.
OK, is it raining there as much as it’s raining here? — because I swear, we haven’t gone more than three days without rain in, like…I don’t even know how long. This El Niño character is awfully insistent about his rain.
Rise and shine, morning glory! 🙂 Rain or shine, it’s Caturday!
Poor Tabs… He hasn’t gone outside for a walk in days, and he has some tabby depression about it. He hates the rain. Well…he’s confused by it, because the sound and the movement of the water fires him up, but then when he goes outside in it, he realizes that it’s all wet and cold and annoying, and he wants nothing to do with it.
I also think he blames me for the weather, like it’s all my fault and I’m dropping the ball as his professional pet assistant. “What!? What the hell is this WET stuff!? It’s EVERYWHERE! Girl, you are doing a terrible job managing my wants and needs!”
In other news, I have a fun-filled weekend of baby growing and grocery shopping lined up. Yup, the excitement never stops at Casa de MBB. It’s a thrill a minute, LOL! I hope you’re doing something fun.
Good luck in the giveaway! Meg here won earlier this month. I wonder what she’s gonna get…
I'm super excited because I never win anything, but I won a $50 Sephora gift card from @karenmbb… https://t.co/GsP67BKDq1

Best purchase of 2015: it’s a toss-up between MAC Face and Body foundation, which makes my skin look perfect, and Urban Decay’s Naked Finishing Powder, which keeps it that way.
Eileen says
In 2015 I was happy to discover theBalm’s Bahama Mama, which shows up on my skin tone much better than Benefit Hoola.

Lydia says
I am too afraid to walk on a frozen lake! 🙂

Grew up in Michigan and used to go snowmobiling on the Canadian side of frozen Lake Erie. Learned how to ice skate on frozen lakes, rivers and ponds. No, I don’t believe in the notion of “the good old days”. Even though the past has good in it, so does today and I believe tomorrow will hold some good, too.
Yup, rain on the peninsula too, although not as much as the north bay. Nora kitty claws and scratches at the front door when it rains. Then when I open the door she dashes out onto the covered front porch. When she hits the point where she feels rain on her fur she comes to a rapid halt, takes a moment to realize she’s getting soaked and then high tails it back into the house. One of the long haired kitties in my neighborhood has been out this rain more than once and comes crying on my back patio. Unfortunately, I can’t let her in because Nora is adamant that this house is her castle and no lowly neighborhood cats are allowed in.
Hilary says
Hmm best purchase of 2015 was probably the Bare Minerals BB cream or Maybelline the Reds lipstick. I love that the both have a lot of color options for my super fair skin!

I am a believer in “The Good Old Days,” The ’90s, which for me was high school-college years. Had to purchase UD’s 1993 Matte Lipstick. 🙂
Dawn says
Best beauty purchase of 2015 was probably the RMS luminizer. I didn’t want to like it because it’s just oils and wax with mica but it’s so good!

Best makeup purchase of 2015: Clinique Chubby Stick eyeshadow in beige. It’s the perfect color for every day.
Allysa says
My best beauty purchase of 2015 was the ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks. They’re the best. I recommend them to everyone – the colour range is absolutely gorgeous and the formula is pretty amazing for a 6$ product. If you haven’t tried them, go get them; I promise you won’t regret it.
I’ve also got a best beauty purchase of 2016. I know it’s like three weeks into the new year, but it’s so life-changing that I had to throw it out there. Two days ago, I bought Sephora’s Colourful Face Powder in Tranquil. It is, hands down, the BEST contour shade I have ever bought. I own Becca’s cream and powder contour duos, Kevyn Aucoin’s The Sculpting Powder, Kat von D’s Shade and Light Contour Palette, NYX’s HD blush in Taupe, and Illamasqua’s eyeshadow in Hollow. None of them hold a candle to this. It’s the greyest contour product I’ve found, and it completely changed how my contour looks. It’s so natural-looking, I can’t get over it. Also, it’s ridiculously pigmented. Highly recommend.
I’ve also really been wanting NikkieTutorials to do a collab with Becca for a new highlighting shade or a highlighting/contour set. She’s the one beauty b/vlogger that really introduced me to the whole highlighting and contouring thing, and since Becca did a collab with Jaclyn Hill, I think it’d be cool to see what they could do together.
I’d also like to see you do a collab with Paul & Joe. I feel like you guys would make an awesome cat-themed collection. Like, remember those cat-shaped lipsticks they brought out a while back? They could bring those back in a whole host of colours and model the bullet after Tabs. OR liquid lipsticks with the cap shaped like Tabs’ face. Karen and Tabs for Paul & Joe!
Bea West says
I dress to impress myself!
Tiffany says
Um, I think KAREN (yes, you) needs to do a collaboration with ColourPop! Have you seen some of the collabs they’ve done? It’s hard not to buy them all. ☺️

Best MAKEUP PURCHASE EVERRRR for 2015 has to be the Bobbi Brown Extra SPF 25 Tinted Moisturizing Balm. I am dry like a lizard in the east coast winter and this just beautifully moisturizes, smells good (reminds me of the Yon Ka skin care line), it’s MAH SHADE (FINALLY, SOMETHING MAH SHADE), and I get a little ancillary highlighting/strobing action with it because it makes me UBER-DEWEY.
=D

Hi Karen!!
Well oddly enough, even though its mid January already, here in New Jersey we havemy gotten almost any snow at all much less frozen lakes of any kind (at least where I live!) I really would like to go ice skating though…maybe I can use that as an excuse to visit NYC and grab some Sephora goodies while I’m there!! ^.^
Karen says
Best purchase of 2015 was… MUFE HD Foundation!!!
Susan Bender says
i would love to try the toofaced bon bon palette
Brittany says
I have walked on a frozen lake before. From birth until 6th grade, I grew up in Canada so frozen lakes were usually a solid way to skate (and a lot of them were smoothed out so that it was actually safe). I remember going to a frozen lake with my family, which was busy with other families, and I don’t think we intended to skate so we walked (carefully slid) on the ice to cross it.
Christina says
My best beauty purchase from 2015 was Glossier’s Balm Dotcom.
Andrea T says
In order to dress to impress I follow the “Third-Piece Rule”, which basically states that you should wear three (or four, or five) pieces of clothing or accessories, not including your shoes. For example, I love to wear riding boots, leggings, a button down, and a sweater over the blouse (my third piece). If I really want to go above and beyond I will add a statement bag or piece of jewelry.
Raeanne says
My best purchase of 2015 has to be the new Urban Decay Afterglow blushes. I got three: Indecent, Rapture, and Bittersweet. Indecent is one of my favorite everyday colors.
Kiss & Make-up says
Hi Karen! Hope you’re having a good weekend so far! Hubby and I went skiing today and we had soooo much fun! As per usual you can count me in for the giveaway 🙂 XoXo
Lindsey says
This giveaway is awesome! I really want to try Origins Night-a-mins but I can’t justify buying it right now… I’m a poor grad student haha.
Jennifer Pham says
Dressing to impress – depends on who I’m trying to impress! But the first thing that came to mind is a flattering, feminine, and well-fitting button up shirt and high-waisted skirt. Comfortable shoes that have a small heel (1-2 inches) tops – that heels sound usually makes people pay attention, but I don’t want to be uncomfortable or trip a lot.
Nicole says
Happy Caturday! =)
Nicole - Beyond the Pale and Freckled says
We’re getting some arctic air this weekend (thanks Canada! ;)) so our high tomorrow is forecasted to be -6F, ha! Not that I’m getting out other than doctor’s appointments anyhow. 🙂 Erik is not a sleep-anywhere type of newborn unfortunately! The husband goes back to work Monday and I’m more than a little terrified at the prospect of dealing with a fussy newborn and a rampaging 2 year old. Wish me luck!
Carol says
My best makeup purchase of 2015 was Opal from Becca… I love it!
Lisa Foster says
My best makeup purchase in 2015 was the Wet N Wild bronzer called “Reserve your Cabana.” I use it every day and love it, and it cost all of about $3. I already have a back up for when I use it up. I’m happier with this product that many that cost a lot more.

Luckily it’s not raining here (MA) anymore today … Was this morning but at the moment it’s actually pretty sunny outside…..
Have to say.. Caturday that’s pretty cute.. I have a baby kitty (he’s 6) and I love love love kitties …. The reason I started following this blog is because makeup and kitties are my two most favorite things …
Have fun baby shopping … Bet you’re getting super excited to finally have the baby… Can’t imagine your excitement ☺️
Have to answer my favorite purchase of 2015 would have to be the Power Peel 3 step system from OLE HENRIKSEN…. Works wonders and I recommend it to anyone of any age. It’s about $60 for 6 treatments and I like to do a treatment every couple weeks so lasts about 3 months. When I first got it I did 3 treatments the first month (every 10 days) just to get a good start but really you could do it 1-2 a month and it’s still wonderful… It would depend on individual skin but hey I still would recommend it to anyone… I realize it’s $60 ish but it’s really worth trying… ??❤️☺️

Living in London means rain EVERY DAY. I go back home to Chicago a bit which means SNOW! The constant rain though is worse to me than snow!
I went to college on Lake Superior and walked on it many times, along with falling through (shallow waters!). I’ve also lived on Lake Ontario and Lake Michigan…obviously not ON the lake itself, and gently stepped on those!
Best beauty product is the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani eye palette which I accidentally and happily own two!

Have you ever walked on a frozen lake?
Oh F no!
Do you believe in the notion of “the good old days”?
My days have rarely been good though I did have more friendships with lovely people from my mid teens through my mid twenties!
How do you dress to impress?
I don’t right now. I don’t care. When I’ve cared in the past, I’ve been in a suit or some killer duds.
Who’s a good trendsetter in your estimation?
I like to people who are approachable, but recently many of my favorite bloggers have gotten incredibly posh very fast.
For Celebs I like Gwen Stefani of course, Cate Blanchett, Melissa McCarthy, Tilda Swinton, and many others. I love fun and fearless ladies!

I’m pretty sure I’ve walked on a frozen lake, because I know I’ve skated on one. Well, at least on a pond. But that’s a small lake, right?
Aj says
Oooh, my best makeup purchase of 2015 was NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Walkyrie. It’s become one of my HG lippies and the color isn’t that dupable which is always a plus when buying something quite expensive. I didn’t really care for NARS products because of the prices, but ever since purchasing Walkyrie I’ve been looking at NARS more. Which is bad for my wallet of course! 😀
gabi says

It’s ALWAYS raining here, I live in Olympia, WA.! I don’t believe in the “good old days”. Because the good old days were the bad old days for a lot of people, if you know what I mean? Women, people of color, etc. So I’m pretty happy to keep on progressing right along!

Best makeup purchase of 2015 was the Gwen Steffani eyeshadow palette and the Tartelette in Bloom palette, I guess that’s two things.
I do believe in the good old days. I think there is something to be said for a childhood with no social media. I’m going to sound old now, but I’m SO glad I didn’t have to deal with the pressures kids face now. It’s hard enough being an awkward teenager, I can’t imagine how difficult it is now with social media.
Sylvia says
Yes I’ve walked on a frozen lake, and got in so much trouble!

I don’t believe in the good old days. I actually think, overall and in general, the human condition has been in an improvement trend. Nostalgia has strange affects on memory, though, which in itself is fluid and imprecise.
Janet Shepherd says
I wish we had more rain – I’d take some off your hands if I could! Here in my part of Australia we had a very dry winter & spring, now it’s summer and plants are dying from months of lack of rain plus summer heat. I’ve been watering the garden but it’s not enough, I’ve lost a few shrubs already. ?
But on a more fun topic, my best makeup purchase in 2015 was a couple of Real Techniques brushes. It has been an embarrassingly long time since I bought new makeup brushes, and these ones just blew me away. I’m def buying more!
laura says
I have never walked a frozen lake… it sounds absolutely beautiful!
Mary says
You look so radiant in all of your pg posts! Keep us posted on all the news. Saying prayers for you & babygirl for healthy delivery!

Baz Luhrmann’s Free to Wear Sunscreen sums up the “good old days” perfectly:
“Accept certain inalienable truths–
Prices will rise, politicians will philander, you too, will get old,
And when you do, you’ll fantasize that when you were young
Prices were reasonable, politicians were noble,
And children respected their elders.”
Tracy Robertson says
The “good old days” are such a myth! There are new challenges now, and not that they are all a bed of roses, but overall as a human race I think we are better than ever. People who grew up in the 70’s say that it was nice to play outside without worrying about being kidnapped, but statistics say there were more stranger abductions in the 1970’s than there are now. People talk about the 1950’s as being a time of innocence…they were great if you were a white male, but not so hot if you were a woman or minority and discrimination was widely accepted. In the 1920’s there was The Great Depression. We can go all the way back to the dark ages where you could be killed by a sadistic ruler if they didn’t like the way that you looked, so when were these “good old days”?
CL says
I grew up in the 70s, and most people knew very well that kids could be taken by strangers. (My mother was a kid in the 40s, and someone tried to kidnap her.) Not everyone let their kids run around all day, unaccompanied by an adult. People are probably more paranoid about it now due to the fact that if you have cable and watch news channels you’ll hear a lot more about it than you would have when there was only a 1.5 minute story on your local news.

I have definitely walked on a frozen lake, and skidooes, skated, snowshooed and all other manner of transport. I live in rural Ontario Canada where there are lakes all around. One of my first memories with my son was taking him for a walk on a frozen lake at 2 weeks of age.
smeegal9 says
My best makeup purchase of 2015 was my BITE lip balm in suede. Its a neutral mauve with sooooo much moisture. Im digging out the last baits with a lipstick brush!
Emily says
I wouldn’t say that I believe in the notion of the good old days, but I do miss the days when people still valued their privacy. It’s not smart or classy to reveal all of the information that people put on social media these days, especially young people who don’t realize that future employers will know how to Google their names!
Vivian T says
Just watched your video on the MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipsticks! I have one already but you’ve convinced me to get another. Thanks for the tips! And I definitely agree with you – the nude ones REALLY highlight any lines/flakes/dryness.
Kecia S. says
My best makeup purchase in 2015? It’s a toss-up between the Becca Backlight Primer (courtesy of your review…thanks for that!) & the Tom Ford Complexion Perfecting Primer in Peach. Both are AMAZEBALLS!
Melissa says
My best purchase of 2015 is also one that I haven’t used, and will never ever use. The Paul & Joe kitty lipstick is too cute to ever ruin. I just twist it up and stare at it!

I’ve discovered that I absolutely LOVE wearing Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer on my face without any other makeup. If I don’t feel like putting on makeup, I just slap that on and it makes me look radiant!
Melly says
I think the notion of the ‘good old days’ is nostalgia, mostly. People use it as a way to say today is bad. What they should be doing is trying to change what they don’t like about today, rather than reminiscing about something they can never get back, then feeling bitter about it.
Trude says
Poor Tabs, don’t all cats hate the rain? 🙂 My in-laws chihuahua hates it too, but loves the snow. What a weirdo.
Do I have to pick just one fave from 2015?! I’d say of the products that were new to me last year, my faves were Living Proof’s dry shampoo, Clinique Color Pop lipstick and Korres’ Wild Rose peel. 🙂

Damn, if I had to choose I’d go with KVD Shade and Light eye palette since I use it for eyes and contour. I made so many purchases these last couple months that I’ve decided not to purchase until my morphe 350 palette arrives. Hopefully I can stay mostly on board in 2016 for at least a couple months! The spring collections coming out haven’t really interested me yet anyways. Not that I stop watching and reading about them!

I’ve walked on frozen lakes lots of times! I’m from a town with a huge lake, and there’s a winter carnival every year with events out on the ice, if the ice is thick enough. I’ve also been ice fishing (which I don’t like, bit my dad still does)
The carnival also has a polar bear dip. No thanks!!

Chris25 says
I dress to impress by wearing whatever makes me feel most comfortable in the moment. Nothing makes me feel more awkward than wearing clothes that are physically uncomfortable or don’t authentically represent my style. It’s also super distracting when you have to stop to adjust your shirt or skirt hem every five seconds, so it’s best to avoid any unnecessary fuss.
Hillary says
My best beauty purchases of 2015 would have to be Kate Somerville skincare or Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. They both are must haves for me now!

Hi Karen, My best discovery of 2015 was facial oils. I have always had oily skin so I thought it wouldn’t work for me. Wrong! Facial oils are so lovely on the skin. I only use a few drops but already my skin is smoother and more toned. I especially love Marula oil which I get from African Botanics and also Clarins facial oil.
Sandy P says
I grew up here in Michigan. So I have walked on, skated on and fished on a frozen lake. Not many people around here have not done so.
Melissa says
Last night I had a dream that I was at Disneyland. The person in front of me had a monkey. There was a monkey in line! And it wasn’t even a suit-wearing movie type of monkey, it was a wild monkey that had no business being in line at Disneyland. I was backing away to alert the necessary Disneyland employees, when the monkey started peeing on the people in line. I found an employee and told them the story, they looked at me as though I were nuts and said, “That is ridiculous.”
I think my brain is ridiculous for coming up with this stuff. Cheers!
CW says

CL says
Usually people who think the old days were better are having a selective memory about it. Those who think the 1950s were so amazing tend to forget the institutionalized racism and sexism of the era, for example (or they profited from it, so it was good for them). There are always bad things in every time, and some good things in every time.
Larissa says
I don’t believe in the good old days, the days should just get better and better!!
Cindy says
The fact that I’m drawing a blank when trying to think of my best makeup purchase of 2015 means I bought too much! LOL! My favorites are the “Pretty Irresistible” lipstick from the MAC red holiday lip bag, MAC Mind Control, Buxom Matte Gel Lipstick in Red Inferno, and I love those new L’ancome L’absolu Velours. They stay on like crazy but not runny like a gloss and not as dry as a liquid lipstick. Oh and I also tried Clinique Redness solutions makeup SPF 15 and I like that too!
Solangel says
My best purchase of 2015 was the Kat Von D Shade + Light eye palette. Use that baby every single day!

Ms. Elise says
The “good old days” have been scientifically proven to be rose-colored glasses over the past, is my understanding.
On a less cynical note, the best makeup/beauty purchase of 2015 was definitely my sunscreen from Paula’s Choice. It’s actually a really good primer that keeps me from being oily or getting sun damage. Although I think my husband thinks the AHA from Paula’s Choice was the best purchase, since he calls it my “miracle goo.” Needless to say, my skin is super clear right now.
Liz says
I’ll wear heels when I’m making more of an effort. Otherwise, boots and flats.

I finally bite the bullet in 2015 and bought the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation in London. The currency conversion made buying it in UK even more expensive than in Canada. So far, I only use it when I have a dinner or party to go to. It’s too expensive to use it everyday.

It seems that I’ve missed the boat on this blush until now but it really is a perfect warm neutral, its between that and MAC Sprinkle of Magic lipstick which is a perfect nude for me. Karen, you managed to make me narrow it down to 2! 🙂
5. MAC should do a collaboration with Kim Kardashian. Say what you want about her but girl knows her makeup. I’d love to see what colors and items MAC could create with her.

Hey Karen, I hope you and BG are doing good.
When I think of ‘good old days’, I think of my grandma who used to bake the world’s best sugar cookies. The smell was heavenly. Although she passed away a few years ago, I still remember how her kitchen used to be filled with that sweet sugary smell. I tried to recreate the original recipe a couple of times, but it never tasted as good as back in the ‘good old days’ when my grandma made them for us.
Oh and my favorite makeup purchase of 2015 must be my first Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick. Such a great formula.
Love,
Alexandra
Kalli Melia says

Aw, poor Tabs. My landlady’s cat is the same way, especially with snow. During the first few snowfalls of the year, he glares at her and me with a look that says, “why did you let this happen? It’s cold and wet, and I don’t like it!”
Elizabeth C says
As a youngster, even to today I’ve walked on a frozen lake many times. Snowmobiled on one, ice fished, the whole lot.

The way I dress to impress is by wearing clothes that fit. Too big or too small usually just ruins it imo, being presentable important =P

My best makeup purchase was the Becca Blush in Flowerchild!

My Siamese cat is feeling Tabs pain! We had snow last night/ this morning and he looked absolutely disgusted by it. I took him out to play in it and he clearly thought I was insane. He spent the rest of the day on a bed next to a radiator!
My best beauty buy of 2015 was definately MAC face and body – had been wanting to try it for years but always ended up with something else like Aqualumiere etc but it’s absolutely my holy grail base and I keep a stock of it (thank God for the 120ml bottles!) Because its just so dammed amazing! I gotta thank you Karen for the ace review that made me buy it! xo
Maria says
So I tried the MUFE Ultra HD Concealer. Is it me or is it a lot thinner than expected? TBH, I prefer the UD Naked Concealer above anything else right now. But I definitely am still eyeing the MUFE Ultra HD Foundation.
Megan Denholm says
My best beauty purchase of 2015 was my NARS creamy concealer, I’ve never used a better concealer before! Amazing coverage and yet it feels very light and not at all cakey! Also my beauty blender!
Yutavia says
My best makeup purchase were some Bobbie Brown lipsticks and lipglosses! I never tried any and I’ve always wanted to give it a shot. I’m happy I did.

Have you ever walked on a frozen lake? I have! I lived in Minnesota for 8 years– land of lakes and frozen.
Do you believe in the notion of “the good old days”? I think we remember things better than they were, so people have rose-colored glasses towards the past, forgetting all the bad bits.
Alexis says
Went to my company holiday party last night. I did have cocktails but didn’t get drunk. Why am I so damn tired today? Partying is hard after 40!!
Lisa C says
Best makeup purchase has to be the TF chocolate bon bon palette.

I grew up in IL but I have never walked on a frozen lake. Lol even if I had the opportunity, I wouldn’t do it. I’m too scared and I don’t like the cold.
Armella says
I recently hopped onto the face oil train. I always had sensitive skin and was skeptical about break outs, but my face has never been happier while dealing with harsh Wisconsin winters and the dry skin that came with it!
Taina P. says
The best makeup purchase I have ever made is probably the Becca Ever-Matte primer. I have oily skin and it works wonders for me.?
Hollie says
I live in the NE and when I was in 9th grade I had to walk to school. There was this huge pond that we had to walk around to get to the main road. One day we were running late so we decided to just walk across the frozen pond to save time. This seemed to work out well and cut our walk by at least 10 min. This was working out pretty good until the day we were walking across it and we heard the ice starting to crack and pop.. Needless to say we ran as fast as we could to the other side and never attempted it again.
AmyBS says
I never say “good old days” anymore, I always say ” back in the day” – but it means the sand I guess!

I live in Chicago so right now everything is frozen! I can’t think of a best purchase of 2015 but I will say that I actually made Rouge level at Sephora this year and I’m proud of it! Lol…
Kalli says
Best 2015 beauty purchases for me would be MAC’s Modesty lipstick and Revlon’s Pink Truffle lip butter. Both are just pretty MLBB’s, but I’ve almost completely finished Pink Truffle and Modesty is about halfway gone and I only just bought that about six months ago. They’re so easy to just keep in my purse and throw it on when I need to look pulled together.
Jordi says
I think that everyone is entitled to talk about their own “good old days” – but that it’s a load of baloney and we all kind of know it!
Alexandru Rusu says
Have you ever walked on a frozen lake?
Yes i walked on a frozen lake when i was litte young at my grandparents countryside.
jessica says
I need a makeup collaboration between J.K. Rowling/WB and literally anyone. there are some really fun harry potter ‘inspired’ collections from smaller/indie makeup brands, but I want a fully licensed collection with house color palettes, creature inspired nail polishes, “lumos” highlighter and “nox” countour…
Natalia says
I did walk before on a frozen lake, even had chance to fishing there. Really fun but cold. Thank you for nice giveaway!

Renae says
Wow, that is a lot of comments!
I have never walked on a frozen lake. As a matter of fact I only got to see snow for the first time last year, on holiday in Munich.
I am “down under” and as such, not a lot of snow here. As such it was quite a thrill to wake up the morning of the day after Christmas to see it falling.
Rowena says
I only just discovered that using a navy liner over black liner can help the whites of my eyes look whiter.
Gaya says
My best purchase of 2015 was Nars Audacious Anna. Definitely want to expand my Audacious collection in 2016!
Alexandra says
My best makeup purchase of 2015 would be the Urban Decay 24/7 liquid eyeliner in black. I have searched for years for a liner to create a glossy fine line for my hooded eyes (so creating both a line and some eyeshadow interest is prime real-estate and I don’t have much to work with!) this strikes the perfect balance, is a true rich black (bonus points) and probably the easiest liner to create that beautiful cat eye flick (or is it the years of struggling with other products that made using this product so easy?) I can’t answer that easily, but I can certainly say this product was my best makeup purchase of 2015!
Justine says
My best purchase was loreal tubing mascara
Hortencia Ostorga says
Can’t wait to go? With Zander mañana.☺️

Hard to narrow down one favorite makeup purchase! My ABH self made palette was a surprise favorite. And I’m really happy with the colourpop purchases I made in 2015, they’re definitely my new favorite affordable brand.
Colleen says
Pretty sure Sunday Riley’s Power Couple Duo (Good Genes Treatment and Luna Sleeping Night Oil) changed my skin and life forever. I have the most hopelessly oily porous breakout-prone uneven-toned mess of a face ever, and this combination calmed it down and cleared it up and sometimes I can even go a whole day without blotting once. It’s ridiculous. I’m obsessed.
Emily says
I try to dress to impress! It depends what I’m doing, but for different things I try to project different images, down to my makeup and perfume.
Lisa says
Best make up purchase last year was the urban decay naked pallete!
Karen says
Best makeup purchase of 2015? After I saw your review of the Tarte Lights of the Party palette, I decided I had to have it! My husband had to search all over to get it for me for Christmas because it was sold out but he found it and I LOVE it. I deployed this January and it’s the only makeup palette I brought with me – has all the colors I need for day-to-day makeup or a night out (if I get one!). I am in LOVE with it.
Toan tran says

Yes, I trully believe in “the good old days”!!!
zVintageFashionizta says
I doubt it will happen at least not anytime soon because she has her own line with another cosmetic company but
Dita Von Teese totally needs to do a collaboration with Besame cosmetics.
Dita’s glamorous old Hollywood style is a good fit for Besame’s vintage inspired cosmetic line (and Dita only wears the colors & makeup basics that Besame sells).
Joanna G says
Living in Minnesota, You would think I have walked on a frozen lake but alas I have not. Too afraid that I will fall in!
Inez Santos says
Hi!!! My best makeup purchase was the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation!!!! I have searched for a foundation for YEARS to be highly pigmented and without being cakey. It doesn’t feel heavy either!! It leaves a smooth finish. A holy grail foundation, for a great price for its quality ($35)!!!

Oh how I need this gift card this week. Why is it that I always seem to run out of all of my skincare and/or makeup at the same time?! I try to stock up during the VIB sale but I guess I didn’t do a very good job this year!

My best makeup purchase of 2015, by far, were two of the D&G Matte Red lipsticks. They are true workhorses! I can wear one all day and barely have to touch it up. In fact, the real issue is trying to take it off at night!

When I think of trendsetters, the first people to come to mind aren’t any famous celebrities – they are the best YouTube Beauty gurus. I find that at least half of my beauty expenditure comes from recommendations from them (including Karen!) It seems like they influence each other as well, as I notice the same products coming up again and again. They may not be celebrities, but I think they have a tremendous influence on viewers, which may account for some of the great collaborations we saw last year between popular beauty brands like Becca, Ofra, and Colourpop and these trendsetters. I have to admit, I receive tremendous guilty pleasure from watching these videos, and definitely purchase more makeup than I would if it weren’t for them. In the end, however, I still have my own style and my own favorites that sometimes are consistent with theirs and sometimes are not. My favorite trendsetters are the ones who don’t believe in necessarily following the rules! I think everyone like that is a trendsetter in their own right!
Jacque says
I lived in Wisconsin for ten years (how I survived the winters that long I’ll never know!) and there used to be a kites on ice festival in January on Lake Mendota. Hundreds of people gathered on the frozen lake and flew kites. It was kinda beautiful 🙂

I turn 45 this year, and I have decided to make an effort to experiment with makeup–colors, brands, try things I have never used before. I’ve been doing the same thing with makeup for YEARS. My mantra for 2016 is to HAVE FUN! What better place to start than with cosmetics? 🙂 Happy New Year! ?

I live in Canada … of course I’ve been on a frozen lake. When I was a kid, my parents took me ice fishing…. soooo boring (and cold). Now my kids go with their Dad at least a couple times every winter (poor things lol!)… but I get a bit of a break (he couldn’t get me to come for all the bribery in the world!). 😀
