OK, best Thanksgiving dish this year — what was it? I’m gonna have to go with the turkey, even though I’m usually all about the sides, which were also delish, but this year the turkey was fab. (Props to the Nugget market in Novato! You guys are rad!).

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I really needed not having to hit the road and being able to just spend time (eating) and relaxing here at home.

My brother made it up from the city and spent the night, which was nice. My parents and El Hub’s were out of town, so it was just us kids, and we don’t get to see each other that often. You know how it is… Everyone’s so busy doing their own thing.

We didn’t do much, really, other than eat. A TON. πŸ™‚ We did make it to a late afternoon movie after all of us awoke from our food comas. We went to see Creed, the new Rocky boxing one with Michael B. Jordan?

We joked about going to see a boxing movie on Thanksgiving, but it was great. I’m really starting to appreciate the athleticism and skill involved in boxing.

The movie wasn’t cheesy at all like the zillion Rocky sequels that came out in the ’80s and ’90s (remember the one with Mr. T?), but it still ties into the legacy. Apollo Creed was Rocky’s adversary/friend in the original movies, and Michael B. Jordan plays his son. The Rocky character is his boxing trainer…and there’s a lot more stuff that goes on. Highly recommended, especially if you liked Rocky.

I didn’t really do any fun Black Friday shopping. The only thing I got was a daybed for when family visits after Baby Girl is born. I found one on sale at Sears. So, yup… Gotta be all practical and sh*t now. LOL!

    Hi Karen,
Thank you for opening this up internationally! I love your blog and I am always wondering – does it ever feel like ‘work’ if you do something you love?
Looking forward to being introduced to your ‘mini me’ πŸ™‚

  4. Joan says:

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. I didn’t do too much Black Friday shopping but a little bit online. I might see what’s still available today. At home – my mom rules the roost. No one can stand up to her hehe.

  5. Nicole says:

STUFFING! My goodness, I wait all year for it πŸ™‚

  6. Laura says:

Thanksgiving was wonderful!! Loved the family time. I did all my Black Friday shopping in my PJs from the couch. πŸ™‚

  7. Laurinha says:

I love onions!! In all dishes! Ok, not in desserts, and not raw – in salads…

  8. Raeanne says:

My skin has been lovely lately, if not a little dry due to the cold weather here in Michigan. That said, my under-eye bags are off the charts! Could be dehydration / fatigue / genetics… No idea! Thank goodness for concealer.

  9. PeabodyJen says:

My mom’s sweet potato casserole is the highlight of Thanksgiving. Everything else is just gives us a reason to eat the sweet potatoes. πŸ˜† And I can’t wait to see Creed!!

  10. Marta Sousa says:

My skin has been playing me lately, some spots have decided to come around and stay on my jaw line!!! πŸ™

  11. Tiffany says:

Today is the Ohio State Michigan game and I’m so excited! Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. ☺️

  12. Alexandra Kritzman says:

    Happy Thanksgiving!

My favorite dish this year – and every year – is the stuffing. I DEFINITELY did some makeup shopping this weekend (and probably will continue to). I feel as though brands have really put their best sales forward this year.

  13. Alix says:

My brother made sausage-and-cornbread stuffing for Thanksgiving and it was the BOMB!

  14. TrippyPixie says:

I went to Barnes & Noble early yesterday morning to buy a Christmas gift. I had a really good coupon and am super busy the rest of this weekend, so Black Friday was the only time to go! The store wasn’t crowded at all (maybe 30 people max) and everyone in there was very calm.

  15. Christina says:

I’ve never gone out shopping on Black Friday!

  16. Dawn says:

I won’t go out shopping on Black Friday but I have no problem shopping online on Black Friday.

    • Heather L says:

I did most of it online this year and actually missed the excitement and energy of the mall on Black Friday. Didn’t miss the pushing and shoving though! I refuse to pay for shipping so I went to Ulta in person because they ship free but not to PO Boxes where I prefer to have my packages shipped. I’ve never had Ulta as my first stop on Thanksgiving night before so I got in on everything I was hoping to pick up which was nice. But I agree with you that in most cases online is better. Especially Victoria’s Secret – the selection is so much better online.

  17. Monika Giaro-Kemp says:

    Hi Karen,

I stopped by Bloomingdales on Black Friday to get few Chanel items but left empty-handed. The lines were just too much to handle with a 9month old baby in tow. I’ll just order what I want on-line!

  18. Darie McMackin says:

Love your blog!!! It’s really fun and never boring so I liked on FB, and subscribed on You Tube to make sure I never miss anything!! LOL!!! My doggie Paulie Mango had a great Thanksgiving after I got home from having dinner with the family because he was finally able to cuddle with mommy, and watch all the Thanksgiving video’s on You Tube πŸ™‚

  19. Bay says:

That movie looks so good! I love you and your blog so much <3 I didn't go out on Black Friday because I was still in a bit of a food coma but I took advantage of Sephora's $10 gift sets and free deluxe sample set, and the Tarte 25% off the entire website, AND Ulta's $20 3-piece Tarte set. So, I spent too much basically πŸ™‚ Glad to hear you had a great Thanksgiving!

  20. Jamie says:

The only Black Friday sale I got was the MAC 25% off, I’m still super surprised that the greediest company ever actually had a sale, lol.

    • Heather L says:

Wow what a great deal! I wish I’d known about that! I’m surprised too – just ordered from them a couple of weeks ago assuming they wouldn’t have a sale!

  21. Nicole says:

Actually I handle my makeup really well I’m kinda the resident guru at work, I give free makeup advice to all lol its kinda fun (:

  22. Joselyn Hernandez says:

I got on a Black Friday deal from the comfort of my couch haha!

  23. Jennifer Pham says:

Onions are generally only okay for me when it’s been cooked beyond recognition, or fried into onion rings! I also like onion-flavored chips and such. I don’t like them raw. So how do I feel about them? Depends.

  24. Sarah says:

Best Thanksgiving dish this year was my grandma’s cranberry sauce.. drool…

  25. Agata says:

I made Polish cheesecake, which turned out to be a huge hit. There was only one piece left!

  28. Noelle says:

Thanksgiving was awesome! We split between three families so it was a lot of traveling but it was a blast.

  29. prilink says:

I wish there was a sephora in argentina…

  30. Becky says:

I’m in the UK so no thanksgiving for me πŸ™ I had a lot of North American friends on my course at uni so we used to have Canadian and US thanksgiving every year! I miss it!

    • Lauren says:

I am in the EXACT same situation as you!! I’m American, lived in Canada the past 3 years, and just moved to London a month and a half ago…so it was my 1st year of my life without a Thanksgiving. You’ll get many more N. American friends to celebrate with next year!

  34. Alison says:

Hey Karen! My boyfriend and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving! This was our first cooking everything ourselves. Although we had a few mishaps (chicken and pies needed to be cooked longer) we did great! Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving!

  35. gabis says:

I jumped on a few Black Friday deals. Sephora was the most prominent of all xD

  36. Erin says:

Did you jump on any of the Black Friday sales?

How do you feel about onions?

I love them! Is there anything better than perfect French Onion Soup?

    How was Thanksgiving?

    Boring but tasty.

Who wears the pants in your family?

Pants are a tool of the man. If you mean metaphorically, it’s kind of equal though I cave way to much to my husband because he’s a real diva. I just can’t deal with his antics sometimes. He was pretty spoiled growing up so I pick my battles.

Someone who handles her (or his) makeup really well at work?

Nope, bunch of basic’s around here. I used to work at Nike though and there were quite a few fierce folks.

How has your skin been lately?

My skin was a bit freaky for a bit with under the skin pimples from trialing several new foundations and hormones. Luckily, gentle exfoliation and straight pure seabuckthorn oil is doing the trick!

I’m trying to prevent my skin going into winter dehydration mode this year with extra-moisturizing night creams (from CeraVe, Paula’s Choice) and switching to my wintertime primer earlier than usual (Hourglass No. 28 Serum instead of Hourglass Mineral Veil), and have stocked up on an extra-creamy cleanser (CeraVe), a hyaluronic acid booster (PC), and skin oils (Josie Maran, Nude Skin samples so far)!

  65. Jessie C. says:

I didn’t jump on any of the Black Friday sales this year.

  66. Heather L says:

Yes, I jumped on the Black Friday sales and had a blast! My favorite holiday of the year! I started with last Friday (week before Black Friday) Ulta sale – which I thought was even better than the ones on Black Friday! They gave away huge makeup bags full of great stuff, and deals like the Tarte Showstopper palette for $24 and Butter London Clutch for $20! I hit Ulta again on Black Friday and they had a lot of great stuff for $10 to $12 including a Lorac palette and Benefit eyeshadows and lipsticks! I also hit Sephora online and picked up a Tarte blush set, Clarisonic brush head, Living Proof and Alterna sets, and Origins mask set each for $10! Finally, I also hit Victoria’s Secret and got the BF Tote bag and a couple of tops marked down as well as irresistible pjs with free slippers. I saved up just enough to take advantage of the Sephora VIB deal coming up this week! I’m more happy with the deals I got this year than I am most years (even the years I camped overnight at Best Buy!)

  67. Sherry says:

  127. Maddie says:

The best Thanksgiving dish was (and always is) sweet potato casserole with toasted marshmallows on top. Yummy!

  128. Sylvia says:

Thanksgiving was great. I did do a little online shopping. Mostly though it was watching The Walking Dead and knitting.

  129. Sarah Sq. says:

I feel like I jumped on too many Black Friday deals lol.

  130. Lizzie says:

    I’ve always hated onions! Lol!

Happy Thanksgiving! I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving though, but I am always thankful for wonderful things in life. Best wishes to everyone and have a lovely weekend.

  133. Stacy Z says:

I’m picky about onions! I like them in soups and when they’re caramelized but otherwise no thank you!

  134. Denay says:

I am scared to go out on Black Friday!

  135. Metta says:

Hi Karen! I did do a little Black Friday shopping, jumped on the MAC sale and got some palettes for gifts and also I was on tom ford’s site 12 am on the 27th, had to grab some lips and boys yay! Lately my skin has been oily and it’s driving me nuts, hope you had a great turkey day!!

  136. Nathalia says:

    Team onion all the way!

  137. Al says:

Thanks for the giveaway, Karen! Happy Thanksgiving! πŸ™‚

  138. Joanna says:

Love onions! But I hate that onions and potatoes go bad so fast when you store them too close to each other. I always forget to separate them.

  139. Amoure Jones says:

    Hey Karen,

Thanksgiving was lovely and being that we celebrate twice (the day of and the day after) it was even better. I must say that I had a great time with family and friends – the best thing I ate was the baked mac n cheese. My brother is the master of that dish and I make sure I get my fill.
Black Friday shopping was a no no for me this year and the only thing I purchased was some movies from Best Buy.

How do you feel about onions?
    I like onions especially grilled.

Who wears the pants in your family?
    My dad.

How has your skin been lately?
My skin has been pretty good thus far.

  140. Per usual, I’m in it for the cranberries. I make a recipe with spices that I’m particularly fond of. But I also made the gravy ahead this time with the giblets and it was the best gravy I’ve ever made by far. Wouldn’t recommend hosting+cooking this late into pregnancy though, I must have spent 4+ hours on my feet and I was exhausted and sore.

I wasn’t planning on buying anything Friday, but the stellar deal on the MAC palettes along with some of the mini sets from Sephora (which I expected to be out of stock) were too good to pass up. My ongoing excuse is that after baby #2 is born, I won’t be buying much for several months, haha.

  142. Ann K says:

Well, I should be studying right now. However, I happened upon Zoya’s Black Friday web deals. Do I want a 12 piece Dream Box? For $50? YES! The hardest part is choosing colors! Have a great weekend, Karen!

  143. leslie says:

did all my “selfish” black friday shopping online yesterday!!! the steals are amazing, it was so great doing it from the comfort of my own home!!! Have a great weekend!!!

  144. Bonnie says:

I didn’t do any Black Friday shopping. Meh. Wasn’t into it which saved me money. If only I could feel this way at the MAC counter!

  145. Emily C says:

I loveeeee onions, especially when they’re caramlized. So good!

  146. Snagglepuss says:

I work at a cosmetics retailer at the mall that turns into a zoo at about noon every saturday, shopping on black friday would be like willingly jumping into a shark tank.

  147. Lori P says:

I did major damage to my wallet this Black Friday with the online deals on Sephora, Ulta, Colourpop and just now…Tarte. I also fed my reading addiction on the Harlequin web site (can’t beat 40% off). Cyber Monday is now off limits for me which is good because my work place put new tracking software on all computers and if they catch you shopping on Cyber Monday…instant termination. :/

  148. Susan Parker says:

Thanks for the chance. Happy Holidays!

  155. Tracy Robertson says:

I can’t believe how many stores opened Thanksgiving night and didn’t even wait for Friday to do “black Friday”. I didn’t go shopping. I think some places need to be open for people who don’t have family, like the occasional coffee shop and the movies, and the employees can know that they are really helping out by being there. But for retail stores to ignore their employees needs and open on Thanksgiving evening for the almighty dollar, is plain greed, IMO. Kudos to stores like REI who closed for the day so their employees could have a little family time.

  156. Chelsea says:

I did the Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale for a small skincare brand I love that rarely does sales (CherylLeeMD.com), and stocked up on things I would have bought anyway. I made one Ulta purchase (Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet Body Milk), only because fragrance was 5x points!

  157. Karen says:

I LOVE onions….cooked or raw. I especially love the smell of wild onions growing in a field.

  158. Terri says:

Happy Thanksgiving! I love onions. Right now, I’m cooking a lemon, onion, and garlic chicken dish, and the combination smells fantastic.

  162. Lilly says:

  163. Georgia says:

The only acceptable onions are onion rings! D: Even then I usually pull the onions out of the ring, and just eat the nommy, crunchy ring.

  164. Oli says:

I didn’t jump on any of the Black Friday sales.

  165. Diane says:

Two long term couples I know are breaking up. One of them, I found out about on Facebook. We are middle aged and that seems like something for high schoolers. Holidays can be weird times. Lots of celebrating, drinking and food, but also emotional turmoil. Onions are certainly important for cooking and there are tears no matter what.

  166. Christine says:

I took advantage of a generous co-worker’s invitation to spend T-giving with his family, as I knew it would be our last “traditional” American T-giving (turkey, fixin’s and all! *yum*) before it’s all pork, pineapple, and pinakbet! (We’re moving to HI next summer). XD

  167. Jen says:

I actually skipped Thanksgiving this year. Wasn’t feeling great and no one was having any huge get-togethers anyway. I didn’t mind it. Missed seeing my family, though. I’ll get to see them soon.

I like onion rings. I don’t much like onions on hamburgers – most restaurants in Texas use those pungent, sharp onions that are obnoxious.

  205. Monica says:

Did you jump on any of the Black Friday sales? – I’m not in the US so no crazy black friday deals but I did go to the mall on Saturday where the Christmas sales have started. Oh what fun!
How do you feel about onions? – I hate chopping them but love to eat them in just about anything and everything. Filipino cooking requires a lot of garlic and onions.
How was Thanksgiving? – No thanksgiving either. But I do make a great Turkey, which we sometimes cook during Christmas dinners. I follow a great brining recipe from a Martha Stewart Living magazine!
Who wears the pants in your family? – We are all very type A.
Someone who handles her (or his) makeup really well at work? – After two years of obsessively watching youTube makeup tutorials, I think I win best in makeup at our office (honestly is the best policy!).
How has your skin been lately? – I just got back from a dive trip last week where I got a face full of jellyfish. I had red welts all over my left cheek and down my neck for about a week. They’ve now healed to a light brown mark and I hope they fade fast. Otherwise everything else is a-ok!

I’m glad you had a good Thanksgiving with your brother! I didn’t go shopping yesterday although I did get up at 4 a.m. to watch my nieces so my sister-in-law could go & because my brother had an opening shift. The only shopping I did was at a couple of the drugstores in town today. I needed a facial scrub as I’ve been getting a few small spots around my mouth & chin recently. The scrub is by St Ives & it’s the pink lemon one. I love the texture & the smell. I also picked up a mattifying powder compact for under $2 on clearance. It’s the Wet’n’Wild X Fergie one & I figure even if it’s not a long-lasting powder, it was super-cheap!

I was really interested in the nude lipgloss set from MAC and it happened to be on sale at Nordstrom as they were price matching the discount from the MAC set. I’m worried about the lightest cremesheen lipglass shade in the set. Other than that I purchased items from Ulta last weekend when they had a sale on Friday and Saturday.

I’ve been trying to reduce, and hopefully eliminate, my impulse purchases and I’m proud to say that I stayed strong this weekend!

  238. XiuJuan Karen says:

    Hi Karen!!!
I’m so glad to hear that you had a great thanksgiving with your family.
I’m from a first generation immigrant family. So we don’t really celebrate thanksgiving the traditional American way. Although we do have turkey (sometimes). But the family time is always present. Spend as much time Roth them as you can, am I right? So instead we had what every other Chinese family does. FAMILY HOTPOT NIGHT!

I didn’t go into any stores, but I did get some clothes for my little girl. Can’t beat $5 shirts and pants at carter. I also got a few gifts too…so it’s not just a me-mas.

  278. Kasey Clark says:

I love onions!!! They are full of cancer-fighting compounds.

  279. Carmen says:

I did go to an outlet mall on Black Friday, and I inn do glad I got there earlier!
That was my first time in years going shopping on BF.
For a few goodies and managed to avoid most of the traffic, yay!

  280. Lisa K says:

OMG!!! Enough of this low 30Β° weather in Northern California in the morning! If it’s going to be that cold GIVE US SNOW!!!!

  281. Justine says:

Somebody told me that Black Friday is called that because we go shopping at night. I told her that’s a creative reason, but that’s not actually why it’s called Black Friday.

  282. Judy says:

Got my winter tires on, ready for snow!!

  283. Jennifer says:

Hit the Macys Black Friday sale and got some great deals!

  284. Elizabeth says:

Hiiii! I bought some $10 goodies from Sephora but that’s about it!

  285. Katie says:

    I LOVE onions! LOL! πŸ™‚

  286. Melly says:

Thanksgiving was great! Caught up with a lot of family I hadn’t seen in quite some time, and we had a blast.

  287. Coline T. says:

My mother definitely wear the pants in my family. A real army officer lol

  288. Meghan says:

Even though I’m Canadian, I’m jumping on the Black Friday sales a bit! It’s a great way to stock up on Christmas presents!

  289. Sarah says:

Thanksgiving was so awkward! My cousin invited her boyfriend because he said all they do for Thanksgiving at his house is sit around on their phones at the table. She felt bad for him and wanted to show him what a normal family Thanksgiving was like. He didn’t talk to any of us, sat around on his phone during, and paid no attention when my cousin was telling stories (which had us all laughing to tears) While she was telling her stories, he was texting her repeatedly “I want to go home. I don’t fit in” He got agitated afterwards when she said to him “You probably would have fit in better if you weren’t on your phone the whole time.”

Not a fan of him at all.

  290. Rachel S. says:

My in laws always come to my house for every major holiday. They’re quite passive-aggressive towards me. This year’s example: They proudly presented me with a housewarming gift; matching coffee mugs that say Mr. Right and Mrs. Always Right. I accepted them with a half hearted smile although I was secretly annoyed. This morning, my husband grabbed them for coffee (we always use matching cups-silly, I know). I was angry at them and at the mug when I saw them this morning but, damn it! They keep the coffee really hot and they’re the perfect size and shape so…

I guess I’m keeping them. * sigh, eye roll*

  291. gloria konelsky says:

Went to see the movie TRUMBO –Highly recommend it!

  292. lisa says:

I’m moving tomorrow so no holiday shopping for me and my skin is freaking – total stress-zema over here.

  293. Aarti says:

My esthetician convinced me to have my whole face threaded and though I will admit that my face looked much brighter and my makeup went on smoothly, I ended up breaking out πŸ™ I’ve been using my toner with salicylic acid after cleansing and boosting my moisturizer with argan oil and that has been helping clear things up. I will definitely be sticking with only getting my eyebrows and upper lip done in the future.

    And LOVE onions! Especially caramelized…YUM

  294. I’m opted out of Black Friday in-store deals since most places offer the same deals online now (score!).

  295. Rachel says:

OMG I hate onions! Enough so that I tell people I was killed by an onion in s past life – LOL!!!

I jumped for Black Friday sales but was instantly disgusted upon going to my local Walmart for one gift. The people were like animals…stealing carts, pushing, yelling… It was crazy!!! Toys r us was much more civilized and the people more respectful.

  297. Holly says:

No Black Friday shopping for me. It’s great and all, but Cyber Monday is where it’s at. I love my local stores, but some of my favorite brands exist only online. Others still, like Sephora, don’t have a location within 50 miles of me, so it’s always nice to be able to take advantage of those deals online during the holidays.

  298. Cindy says:

Black Friday is online all the way! I stopped going to the stores in person a few years ago, I’m done with crowds. I got the Black Friday bag from the Body Shop, some Ulta BF deals and some of the Sephora $10 deals. Also got the MAC Berry Black Friday Patentpolish lip pencil.

  299. Tracey E. says:

Happy Thanksgiving weekend! My spouse and I had a lovely long weekend. We ate a lot, and chose family side dishes that are usually served at Christmas dinner. What a treat! My spouse made turkey soup, so the fridge and freezer are stocked! I took advantage of a local restaurant’s gift certificate deal as well as the Bobbi Brown gift set deal (mostly for a gift for my mother-in-law). I was going to take advantage of Neiman Marcus’ $50 off sale, but their Internet problems caused me to walk away. Probably for the best. I’m eyeing another gift certificate deal that can be used at a consortium of local restaurants and I know Santa will bring me a Tom Ford lipstick because I’ve been a good girl all year. πŸ™‚

  300. Lisa says:

I only bought online Black Friday. We di go to see the tree lighting since the weather was so nice.

The dark/age spots on my face have been driving me crazy. I will be getting my first Photo Rejuvenation done next week. Hoping for the best.

  302. Shannon Coker says:

Glad to hear you had a quiet day! Like you, I catered the turkey and had a nice day. My favorite thing is baking, so I baked (and ate) lots of cookies (followed by a 15k yesterday to try to help counteract them). Ha.

  303. Jiji C. says:

It’s better to spend Black Friday shopping with friends to better utilize space and the amount of products we can all carry in our hands, but since I moved and my friends live in a different state, I have use been shopping around for cyber Monday deals which is almost as good, if not better, than waiting in the cold weather. My friends have also gotten smarter and shopped online instead.

  312. Rachel says:

My super oily, acne-prone skin has finally been under control lately! I started taking a new medication for my blood pressure and it has a fabulous side effect of clearing up adult acne, so for the first time in my life, I have no blemishes! I’m assuming it is also why my oil production has finally calmed down – to the point that I actually had some major dry patches and had to change up my morning routine. This is the best my skin has ever looked!

And I love the layout of your blog πŸ™‚

Let me try to answer all the questions you have listed.

Did you jump on any of the Black Friday sales? No, there aren’t much great deals in Canada; tried to shop online at US stores but shipping and duty cost so much so didn’t end up getting stuff that i want.

How do you feel about onions? Onions are good and healthy.Just have to brush after eating, hehe

How was Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving was good, good times with family!

Who wears the pants in your family? My mom, lol

Someone who handles her (or his) makeup really well at work? most of the girls I work with has their makeup on point.

How has your skin been lately? breaking out, eating too much chocolate and candy this winter season, lol

Thanksgiving was great! Spent the day with lovely friends and stuffed ourselves with the usual Thanksgiving dishes.

  377. artemis says:

My skin has been sensitive, oily, flaky and with acne. It gets worse when i eat junk food, cheese, sweets, sleep too late at night, stress and stuff. I’m trying to change…I’m using gentle cleansers, moisturizer, an urea cream to get the flakies off followed by manual exfoliation (i know manual isn’t that nice to the skin and it irritates it…but otherwise there;s many flakes left behind). Make-up doesn’t sit right in these bad days. It doesn’t sit great anyday, but sometimes it looks good for the first hours.

I went to our new shopping mall (closest to my block)and bought 2 pair of winter boots. Haha, guess where I bought them from. One from the boys’ aisle (as they got comfier and cheaper good shoes like these Kappa ones and smaller sizes than men lol -those start at 40-…i wear 38) and one from the teen/tween girls’ aisle from a Magic Lady brand (not very little girls as it had quite big sizes for a girl, that can easily fit most women, like 36, 37, 38, 39-european).

I wanted to buy some Aura serbian liquid lipstick (that turns matter) from dm (I’m romanian, I’m glad my neighbours started a make-up brand, hehe. We’re behind in that area, we only got some eye and lipliners and a lot of skincare) but they didn’t have the shades i wanted anymore.

  378. Julene says:

I’m actually starting to like onions a lot more the older I get, as well as different incarnations/varieties of them. I like Spanish onions, because they’re sweet, red onions both cooked and raw…raw specifically in Greek salads. I also love green onions and lots of them in my Wonton soups. Shallots and a variety from the onion family I’ve only recently tried – leeks! LOVE leeks, because their taste is so mild. You can put a ton in a dish and they’re not overpowering. My nutrionist says I’m low in sulfur, so onions are apparently a good source!

  379. Kirsten says:

Did you jump on any of the Black Friday sales? Yep. Mac and Colourpop.

How do you feel about onions? They’re good, garlic is better.

    How was Thanksgiving? Bittersweet.

Who wears the pants in your family? My cats?

Someone who handles her (or his) makeup really well at work? I am self-employed, so I guess that would be me?

How has your skin been lately? Hormonal.

  380. Rachel says:

I didn’t hop onto a single black Friday deal this year. Not even the $10 sephora sets that I love. For some reason, nothing really caught my eye this year. (Which is good cause I just spent a whole lot during the VIB sale.)

  381. Janessa says:

I came into work today, a bit early, all bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to tackle the day. About 10 minutes in, my *brandnew* iMac decides to have a temper tantrum and stop sending any emails. I had an extremely important, time sensitive email stuck in my outbox for 2 HOURS! Needless to say, I missed my cutoff, my boss is pissed and my email still isn’t working (nor has the important email reached its destination). Thank goodness my Gwen X UD palette is scheduled for delivery today and I have leftover turkey in the fridge for lunch πŸ™‚

  390. Jennifer says:

Let’s see, so many possibilities for a comment: Black Friday shopping–I was recovering from a bad cold so I shopped online, scored some great deals on Amazon.
In more pressing matters, my skin, in particular, my cheekbone area, has been plagued by blackheads the past four or five months. Not a ton of them but enough to annoy me because the rest of my skin is in pretty good shape, wrinkles not withstanding. Apparently the cheek blackheads are a hormonal side effect from going through menopause. #middleagerocks

Thanks for the Creed movie review. I really want to see it. I love boxing, loved the Rocky movies, loved Apollo Creed.
If you want another boxing movie to watch, rent The Fighter with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale. Great movie and both actors were great as was the supporting cast. I was never a huge Christian Bale fan before this movie but I’ve got to say that was the probably the best acting I’ve ever seen in my life.
