‘Twas MAC Cork Eye Shadow. That was the last product I hit the pan on.
Not really a huge surprise, though, because I use it all the time to fill the inner part of my brows (ombre brows 4-life!) and as a transition color in my crease.
And then there was my almost new pan of MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul, which I also “hit the pan on,” but that was under dubious, heartbreaking circumstances…
I actually have no idea what happened to it — how it cracked so badly — because I can’t remember dropping it, and I usually can remember dropping products because they normally fall on my foot (I’m talking to you, Tom Ford Cognac Sable), and then my foot hurts like hell, but my feet don’t hurt right now, so I’m stumped. 🙂
I literally opened it one morning and BOOM! — it was broken (the pan, not my foot).
My working theory is that Tabs pounced on it, crushing it with the brute force of his 20-pound body.
I have no hard evidence to back it up, though, so for now the suspect remains free to roam about the condo…
How about you? What was the last product you hit the pan on? Makeup-loving minds want to know.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Happy Tuesday. 🙂

Nothing lately! Thee has been so many new launches the past few months, I keep testing the new ones! 🙁
Miki says
I actually just hit pan yesterday on my Rimmel Stay Matte powder!
Natalie says
Benefit Hello Flawless Powder compact. I keep going through those, I just love that powder. I don’t think I’ve ever hit pan on an eyeshadow, I just have too many.
smita roy says
Technically not hit the pan but ya almost done with my bobby brown stick foundation 🙂
Ludmila Assumpção says
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder and MAC Blot Powder.
What can I say? Obssessed keeping my oily skin matte.
Karen says
It’s always MAC Naked Lunch! It’s my go-to shade so I go through it five times faster than any other eyeshadow. On the other hand, my blushes last forever and I have never hit pan, which oddly, is kind of frustrating. Like, let me be done with this color, already!
Kiss & Make-up says
The new MAC Pedro Lourenco Corol blush. Already you say? Yes, because I attacked it. With a kitchen knife. I’m explaining it all on the blog soon. The reason behind it was bad. And sad.
Karen says
Yeah, I had to chip at mine too. The texture…so hard!
Trisha says
I finally finished my Cover FX Pressed Mineral Foundation a few weeks ago. I was at the bottom of the pan, but kept coaxing the remainder out of the sides. And then, one day I dropped it. And all the stuff on the sides of the pan cracked off and scattered on my bathroom floor.
It was pretty heartbreaking.

Jane Iredale’s eyeshadow duo of oyster/supernova. I loooooove it. I love many things but that duo just hits me in the sweet spot. I have Native American yellow undertones so I am usually all about the “everyday” purples. I just love it! Thanks Karen for representing the yellow undertones and almond eyes! You rock! And so does your cat! 😉
Karen says
Hi Amy,
You rock too! I’d love to hear about your favorite makeup products. It sounds like we could wear similar shades. Gimme your list of must-haves!
Tamine says
I hit the pan on my second MAC Blot powder, Benefit Boing concealer and The Balm Bahama Mama bronzer!
Iris says
Last item I hit pan on is my Shu Uemura eye primer. I’ve almost used it up.
Georgia says
Becca pressed blotting powder. In fact it disintegrated in the pan, making a mess of my MU bag. Not impressed with the product nor its lack of longevity in the pan. I only bought this last month. Not buying again.
And as for delicious kitteh belly …. Marbles and Josie – my two favorite floofsters have the most scrumbalicious bellies in the world!
Karen says
Hi Georgia,
Please send Marbles and Josie my regards. Kitteh belly is the best, om nom nom!
kellly says
Oooh, cork! I have and love that color, too!
Last product I hit the pan on is that Cover Girl transparent compact finishing product stuff.
Karen says
Isn’t it great?! What do you like to wear it with? I seriously use it with everything, but I especially love it with MAC Club.
brenda says
I’ve recently hit the pan on MAC Tenderling blush ( my all-time favorite, just love it!) And my eyebrow filler, MAC Brun, is also almost gone… well, good excuse to visit the MAC counter again 😉
Mahdi Martin says
I’ve hit pan on my Real Colors Brow-zing Baked Duo Brow Powder in ebony. I’m so glad I bought a backup, because my favorite products always get discontinued, as I suspect this one is. I can’t find it anywhere online, but I originally found it at Sally Beauty Supply. It was super cheap, and I’m usually a makeup snob, but this stuff is perfect. I wonder if it was discontinued because of the name similarity to Benefit’s product.
Majick says
Hi Karen, I felt compelled to answer this one since I don’t EVER hit pan on anything! LOL I don’t count liquid products like foundation, concealer, and stuff like that – just powders in a pan.
I finally hit pan on my IT Cosmetics Vitality Disk with the bronzer/highlighter/blush. I hit pan on the bronzer of all things. THat is the best bronzer combo I’ve ever worn. I really love it. I’m almost there on the highlighter too – a few more sweeps. 😀
Karen says
Hi Majick,
Sounds like a great product! The Ulta near my house carries that line…just added it to my wish list. 🙂

I hit pan on Benefit Hervana last summer, then I stashed it away during fall and winter. I’m going to try using it up soon.
Around the same time, I also hit pan on Too Faced Magic Mushroom (eyeshadow single). It went strong for a couple of months until I accidentally dropped it and it shattered…
Lacey says
I hit a teeny bit of pan yesterday in my Nars Radiant Cream foundation compact. It is my first one (fell in love with it a couple months ago). Kind of exciting. I try too many foundations so hitting pan usually takes forever.
Bella says
I never hit pan on powder products. In the old days, I was known to finish a lipstick or a gloss, but that was before I had 1 000 000 of them. But I suppose I have just finished a Bobbi Brown Smokey Eyes Mascara and ANOTHER Nars Smudgeproof Eyeshadow primer, and I go through skincare all the time.
Christine says
The African Violet color in the Laura Mercier Artist’s Palette for eyes. LOVE that color and can’t get enough of it.
Kaelyn says
The last product I started seeing a little bit of pan on was my hourglass ambient lighting powder in diffused light (shocking right)! Those are my favorite setting powders I own and I use them almost on a daily basis.
jenna says
feels like its been forever since i’ve last hit pan on something! The last 2 were probably my only elf products, a blue toned pink blush and a bronzer from their blush/bronzer duo. I crushed up the blush and used it to make a lip balm which I’ve since finished and the bronzer probably has 1-2 months left before it will be tossed. Don’t think i’ll purchase either product again but I don’t regret trying out the brand
Rachel P. says
Hi Karen, I hate it when products mysteriously break or fall apart! It’s like, you think you’d remember what happened because no one else is using it. But nope, you reach for it one morning and discover there’s been a casualty on the vanity. I last hit pan on my Rimmel Stay Matte powder (which I don’t love anymore, but it makes for a good mattifier to keep in my purse/work desk) and a blush-bronzer duo from Mary Kay. I am *thisclose* to hitting pan on my Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil bronzer- I can see the rings and the divet in the middle, it’s only a matter of time! I run out of liquids/oils/foundations way faster than powders, too.

My Fresh Sugar lip treatment (brown tube). Every time I hit the end of the tube, I dig out the remains in the bottom with a beauty spatula and put it in a little travel jar to use up. At $22.50 a tube, I don’t want to waste any and I use it constantly. It can even be used under other lipsticks to make a semi-sheer. . .kinda turns any lip color into a balm.
Raquel says
MAC Ricepaper, which I discovered here on MBB and finish up every few months! Amazing.
Fancie says
The Espresso eyeshadow in my Lorac Pro Palette. I use it to fill in brows on my clients and as a crease shade for smokey looks. I love it!
Carol B says
Guerlain Terracotta Sun Brunettes bronzer. I love it soooo much, but I may try to find a less expensive replacement. In the meantime,I’ll use every last bit of it!
kimkats says
Hit…… pan……?? What are these words you speak? 🙂 I think the last thing i hit pan on was a MAC Blot powder and that was a few years ago! Need to work on hitting pan on a few (like, a thousand!) things……
Doreen says
Mac Cork, nars orgasm blush and glo bronzer!
Sylirael says
Lat thing I hit *pan* on was a Revlon cream-to-powder foundation compact back when I was a teenager. I had good skin, so all I was using it for was spot concealing and stage makeup, but I managed to hit pan quicker than I epected! In fact, I finished the thing.
More recently, I haven’t hit ‘pan’ but I did hit ‘tube’ on two of my lipsticks and three samples of mascara, so that was exciting 😉
Liz says
Since I’ve really streamlined my makeup routine, I’ve been using up products. The two most recent makeup products that I hit pan on was Cover FX Mineral Foundation and MAC blush in Pinch Me. I’m also digging out my lipstick with a lip brush. It’s Bobbi Brown creamy lip color in Italian Rose.
txabela says
Body Shop Honey Bronzer ( shade 2), Benefit Speed Brow andthe little Clinique bottom lashes…. also the Bourjois lumi primer is about to too.
Chrissy says
The last thing I hit pan on was Naked from the UD naked palette. Made me sad. I hate hitting pan 🙁
Vanessa says
Wow, look how deep the pan for warm soul is. I’ll be amazed if you can use that up 🙂
Allison says
I hit pan recently on MAC’s Cream Color Base in Pearl. I use it primarily as a base color/primer for my eyes, and had no idea I used that much. I swear I use the Cream Color Base in Hush twice as much as the Pearl shade but I haven’t hit pan on that one yet. Weird…
Poo@beautyandmakeupmatters says
Warm soul is on my list.. I hit the pan of three lipstick refills from INGLOT and its pressed powder.. a proud moment.. 😉
Erin says
My beloved Armani blush!
Jessica says
I finally hit pan on my NARS Lovejoy blush. It was kind of a milestone for me because it looked brand new for MONTHS. Just did a MAC run after hitting pan or glass on my Indianwood paint pot (which always dries out) and Saddle matte eyeshadow.
jessica says
Nars Laguna. I’m using it as sparingly as possible right now since it’s such a pricey item but I just cannot find another bronzer I like as much. Looks like I’m gonna have to spring for another one soon. :/ Sorry to hear about your Warm Soul. I have 2 sneaky nosey cats myself, so I can sympathize. lol

Bare Escentuals, City Lights, eye shadow. One of the few products I always use all of and always replace. Also, Urban Decay Bourban 24/7 eyeliner. Its a must have.
Caryn Rubanovich says
Last products I hit pan on were the Bobbi Brown undereye concealer and corrector. I was very proud to actually finish not only one product but two.
Jay says
Hit pan on Cargo’s blush in the color Tonga. The first time I’ve EVER hit pan on a blush, or any sort of color makeup item. Now working at expanding the pan and several other shadows, after starting a long project pan/project finish it on my IG account.
Katherine says
I just hit pan on Wedge, it has replaced cork for me as an everyday crease color! I will have get cork back out, which of course, is showing pan :).
Chrys says
MAC Shroom (2nd pan).
RM says
NYX bare my soul matte eyeshadow. i’ve had it for less than a year too! i use it everyday for filling in my brows and it’s my default crease color for many neutral-to-plum e/s combos.
