Not too shabby, tabby. But I didn’t venture far out of my comfort zone. It was yesterday, and I wore matte browns in the crease with a satiny army green on my lids and lower lash lines.
I keep telling myself to push myself (telling myself to push myself, myself?) and try more different kinds of looks, but I’m hooked on hazy, blown-out and smokey.
I mean, all ya gotta do is keep blending, you know?
How about you, babe? How did your last eye look turn out?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Link me to pics! I wanna see pics. 🙂

Really nice. I did a plum , peach , and gold look. I need another peachy gold color though.

Your look is stunning!
My last look I really liked was on Sunday. I wore dark blue eyeshadow all over the lid, with matte brown and brownish shimmery red in the crease. Mood Exposure on the cheeks and caramel lips. I have a pic I took with my phone and it was already dark out so it’s not great but I will send it to you via Twitter!

Gurl, I’d say you pushed your comfort zone into stunning!
Yesterday I pretty much used Bobbi Brown. First the base of the cream eye shadow in Shore. Then I pulled out my very first purchase of Bobbi Brown (2007?), a LE Stonewashed Nudes palette (7 shades) and used a few of those lovelies below the crease. Above the crease, another LE Bobbi Brown, Chrome Eyeshadow in Pewter (looks like a paler Lysithea from NARS Dual Intensity eye shadows).
I did use one of those Dual intensities – Phoebe — in the crease.
Eyeliner was the deep dark Espresso shade (wetted down) from the Stonewashed Nudes palette, topped with a NYX brown eyeliner.
So, yeah, it was neutrals all the way but purty ones!
Blush was one I just bought — Bobbi Brown Pretty Pink; lips Viva Glam V. Brows, Armani Brow Maestro and Anastasis Brow Wiz.
No pix today!!

I LOVE how army green looks on you, Karen! I can never get it to look quite right on me…
The last look I really liked on me was from this morning! I used the ColourPop Super Shock Shadows in Bae, Hustle, and Bill. It’s a surprisingly easy purple and burgundy smokey eye 🙂
Here’s a pic!

That should link to the photo. This was from Sunday, and it’s super subtle, which was my intention since I was going to an event where I suspected makeup is frowned upon. So I went for a no-makeup look that would fly under the radar but still play up my eyes.
Milani bella eyes – diamond on browbone
Milani bella eyes – grey in crease
Milani Bella eyes – taupe filling in brow lightly
L’Oréal visible blur concealer – fair on under eye circles
Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil – smoke, barely there and hugging lash line
Maybelline full & soft mascara – black (my go-to on natural days)

They usually turn out the way I want to. But recently I have been going minimalistic and somehow my last look turned out way too natural and it barely showed up! How weird can it be? On a better note, instead of putting in extra effort, I wore a dark, full on plum color on my lips!
Rachel R. says
Pretty good. I used Stila’s in the garden palette: Moss on the lid, Honey in the center of the lid, Rosette in the crease, and Chinois on the browbone. I used Tarte gel liner in green, UD 24/7 eyeshadow pencil in Sin on the waterline, and two coats of Perversion mascara.
To complete my face: I put Notoriously Morbid Divination Blush in Astrology on my cheeks, contoured with MAC blush in Taupe, and used Michelle Phan lipstick in Daredevil.

Pretty good! And at first I was convinced it wasn’t gonna go anywhere, lol 🙂 I was thinking to myself: ‘noooo, the colors are too cool… and it’s too dark… and it’s not blended well…’ But then it actually turned out quite okay.

ok but it didn’t last me the workday.. A taupy grey pearl. I got the cream shadow pen from Laura mercier in ‘grey pearl’ just before christmas I am kinda obsessed. Today I wore it with MUG taupe notch on the lid, bada bing in outer v and desert sands in the crease. An odd mix of warm and cooler tones but it workd 🙂 smoked it out with some more bada bing before the work dinner and added Too faced Loganberry lipstick (toned it down a bit by blotting the colour.)

Come on, meow, that’s a lot of “myself”. 😉
It was good but, in fairness, even a toddler could have done my eye look. I have a cute little sample card from MUFE with a light beige, darker beige and mauve. I know. I went crazy. HAHA! Anyway, there was a lovely, little 3-picture tutorial and I followed it. Simple, subtle and nice. Oh, and that was NYEve.

Not as expected. my mother treated herself to a Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Khaki, so I raided her stash (never to old to do so…) and combined it with Bobby Browns Long-lasting Eyeshadow Stick in Vanilla (which I selflessly got her for Christmas). It looked great at first, but after blending away, the Khaki was almost gone.
Everything turned out to be very subtle, but nice anyway.

Last time I did an eye look was at some point last week…I used the nudes in UD Vice 3. Love that palette. I have found that because of the fallout, a tiny bit of shadow goes a loonnnngg way. That palette should last me a very long time! It was my first time using matte nudes and I have to say that I really loved the look. I am normally cray-cray for shimmer, but I discovered how the mattes really do well with a soft, more mature look. Not that shimmer can’t be mature, but I associate these matte nudes with say, a job interview, or work. I don’t have a pic (I don’t take a lot of selfies), but I think I will start taking more pics soon – with apps like Instagram and Aviary, photo editing can be a lot of fun!

My last eye look was cobalt liquid liner and rosebud salve. It came out ok but I’m not the best at pulling off edgy looks because I dress to shlepy.

I have to say I was running really late today so I used the entire Urban Decay Naked on the Run palette for my entire face. I used Dive on the lid, fix in the crease, dare on the outer corner and crease and 50/50 on the brow bone. I completed the look with Stag liner pencil tightlined on the top, a coat of subversion primer and a coat of perversion mascara. (I LOVE perversion mascara!)
I finished the lips with Sesso gloss that also comes in NOTR but I used NARS Brigette lippie for a little longer staying color.
I have to say, my eyes now look even better than when I first did them this morning. I think from blinking the colors just get more blended.
I think you look fantastic in army green. Makes me want an hourglass palette but I’m trying to save some $$. I will splurge on something in February for my b-day but I’m thinking it may be the NARS duel intensity palette.

Yesterday’s look was a creme color for the inner corner and browbone, a gold for the lid, and a plum purple for the crease. I blended the purple out a bit so that is wasn’t as harsh and dark. I used black liquid liner on the top lid with a small wing and black mascare. I finished the whole look off with a simple nude lip.

I used Bae from Colour Pop and on top of Black Bean NYX jumbo pencil. Then in my crease, I used Wild Raisin and Deep Roast from Coastal Scents and Cocoa Bear from Makeup Geek for my transition color. It turned out great!

Actually, I was inspired by your look with the Hour Glass Color Field palette so I searched my stash & found a green kinda similar but not exactly a dupe. I used Milani’s Bella Khaki, a beautiful, shimmery almost-army green on my lid. I blended the CG bronzer in Ebony & MAC eyeshadow in Uninterrupted as my transition shade, & UD Blackout in my outer V. I also smudged Bella Khaki, Blackout, & MAC Mulch along my lower lash line. I used the CG Bronzer & NARS blush in Taj Mahal on my cheeks. And wore WnW Stoplight Red on my lips lined with Chestnut from MAC. All in all I’m pretty pleased with the look, though I wish the green were more intense. Oh and I used MAC paint pot in Moss Scape as a base for Bella Khaki. I’ll email you a pic. 🙂

It’s funny–I was reallllllly feeling your green eye look here after seeing yesterday’s post featuring it, and wanted to get close to it with what I have at my disposal (since I obvs don’t have that Hourglass palette yet. It will be mine, though. Oh, yes…it most certainly will be!) Anyway, I busted out my long forgotten pan of MAC Sumptious Olive this morning and…its not right. I love, love, love this color in the pan, but I can’t seem to get it to show any kind of green on me, its just a slighly green shaded gold. Which is pretty, but not what I was after. So, yeah…I’m salty!

I have been trying out Illamasqua’s Cream pigment in Delirium as a base with MAC’s Grain on top and Orb into the crease. Nothing earth shattering but a lovely combo. Just love Delirium and its great on the cheeks and lips too!

I wore mine Sunday — NARS Cordura II with a peek of Persia at the upper lashline. I had been wanting to try the pair since the middle of November and *finally* got around to it! That being said…the anticipation was worth it. Smoky eye, come to mama!

The last eye look I created was actually on a client of mine using my Lorac Pro Palette. It was a coppery bronze smokey look that I want to recreate on myself today now that I think about it lol

Last time I wore make-up and eye make-up is like a few weeks back. But, yesterday I just applied pretty dramatic winged liner and it came out well! 🙂
Poo@beautyandmakeupmatters says
The green on eyes.. Ahh I gotta get one for myself 😉
Lastly I did a subtle on the lids with a little darkness in the crease and outer corner kin of look but it was a dud..neither the look Nor the colors did anything for me 😛

I was wearing an animal print top (the one from the Altuzarra for Target collection), so I did a warmer look than usual. I used MAC Utterly Becoming instead of Painterly as a base, and tightlined with Inglot gel liner #90, a neutral-to-cool brown. I pulled out some Too Faced palettes: Pretty Rebel, Natural Eyes, and A La Mode. I used Heaven from Natural Eyes as a base above my crease, with Nudie for a little depth and as a transition/blending shade; La Croisette from A La Mode as an inner corner highlight; and Instigator, a greeny-gold from Pretty Rebel, on the inner 2/3 of my mobile lid with Girly, a duochrome that turns from green to mostly a reddish brown on me, on the outer third; and swept Chocolate Martini from Natural Eyes up into the outer crease in a bit of a winged shape; blended gently, and lined the outer part of upper and lower lids with Urban Decay eye pencil in Hustle and set it with Girly. It turned out really nice, and I got compliments, including from my most critical client, who is a retired portrait sculptor!

My last look came out surprisingly well-I did a gold lid with a warm brown crease and then a blackened purple blending into both lashlines. Very dramatic and beautiful!

very pretty!! Oh wow.. hmm looong time since I did an “eye look”. The last one is probably from New years..http://instagram.com/p/xU6l9Ptsnn/?modal=true ! Im totally in love with the color pop shadows right now!!

Last one I did was a few days ago, on Sunday! I was doing new looks with the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar palette! So far I like it!

Love your look! My shadow came out quite nice today. I went for purple/plum using NARS Kuala Lumpur duo and UD liner in rockstar. I’m good with a gradient color look using 2 or 3 colors with the darker color in the outer and getting lighter towards inner. I’m still working on the smokey eye.
CJ says
I did a work-appropriate smokey eye with the Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Ivory Power palette (cream on lid, then a graduated smokey crease and outer V), pressed Colour Pop I Heart This on the middle of the lid for sparkle, eyeliner with UD Hustle, then Tarte Lights, Camera Flashes mascara. #nailedit 😉
