Hats are totally my thing. I love them 1) because they shade me from the sun, 2) keep my noggin’ warm in winter, and 3) allow me to skip styling my hair. 🙂 Plus, they’re just about the easiest way to upgrade almost any outfit.
I spotted this particular headgear at Anthropologie yesterday while I was allegedly shopping for hand creams (Me to El Hub: “Be right back, babe… Gonna look at lotion!). It’s the $48 Creased Cloche.
I used to wear hats a lot more when I was in high school (Freshman year, I was obsessed! I wore one almost every day.), but I’ll still sport one from time to time.
How about you? What’s your stance on hats?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

We’re in single-digit temperatures in Michigan now, so I wore a fuzzy gold newsboy cap today that my fiance got me last Christmas…
I wear hats pretty often in the summer for sun protection! I have a straw fedora that’s my go-to summer hat. My scalp got burned really badly in Paris a few years back, so I’ve learned my lesson and I now wear hats.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE HATS!! I have gotten in a fedora rut (the only kind I own) so I need to branch out to other cute styles like you’re sporting in this shot. Great for bad hair days:) I hear ya on getting side tracked in Anthropologie – one of my favorite stores ever!

I love the idea of hats, and have even bought a few (straw, cloche and furry winter ones), but seem to never get around to wearing them. You just reminded me of the beautiful dark red cloche hat I bought last winter and I may just have to get it out to try since it’s so cold here in Indiana right now! The one you were trying on looked very nice on you…you look like a “hat person”, if there is such a thing 🙂

I love hats on others but feel utterly silly wearing them myself.

I love this hat and I love your sweater. I look good in hats but I always feel stupid wearing them and they always mess up my hair.
Tiffany says
I don’t wear them very often, but they look cute on you, and other people. I should do it more often! 🙂

I’m a hat fiend – my desire to wear fancy hats is almost enough to get me to go to church. I’m also one of those people who looks really good in hats, I’m not sure what the mystery is because I’m solidly average looking overall, but I rock every hat I try on. Case in point: I jokingly put my husband’s (who has the opposite of my superpower and looks terrible in every hat) underpants on my head while doing the other day and he looks at me and says, “Dammit, you even look good wearing underwear for a hat.” I checked the mirror and he was right, for a lady with underwear on her head I was positively *dashing*.

I love hats, and have a collection of about 30 or so. They range from simple summer straw hats, beautiful felts, as well as a few stunning veiled cocktail hats. I not only love them, I WEAR them! For those who think they can’t wear hats – you can. It’s just a matter of finding the right shape/style for your face (and your outfit).
I did a little experiment many years ago, when I was still working at the headquarters of a major airline. I wore hats one day a week for several consecutive weeks, and made an interesting discovery; on the days I wore a hat, men practically fell over themselves holding doors for me, picking up things if I dropped them, etc. (not that I’m not perfectly capable of doing these things for myself). It seems to me men subconciously view a woman wearing a hat as being more feminine – and that,in turn, brings out the chivalry in them. I think wearing a hat also adds an element of mystery, which men always like in a woman.
Even though I’m not employed anymore, I still wear my hats on occasion – usually when I’m in the mood to attract attention and engage in a bit of harmless flirting. It works!

I love hats but for some reason I don’t wear them as much as I’d like. I should remedy that!

I love hats! Wore a lot of them in high school. In the summer, I work outdoors so I wear a hat every day. Winter hats…I have a love/hate relationship with them. The real warm ones mush my hair down and make it look funny…so I tend to wear ear muffs in the winter… However, I do have a nice wool fedora that I wear in the winter that looks way awesome…but it’s not suitable for a snowstorm. When the weather is really cold, I just swallow my vanity and go for total warmth…and staticky, mushed hair…

I love wearing hats, but I don’t waer them often enough. Just in the winter. I can’t straighten my hair in the summer, and a hat over my puffy hair just looks stupid.
I love the one you’re wearing though!

I haven’t been wearing hats…even thought it’s freezing in Chicago. But I am a HUGE earmuff fan! 😉

I only wear a hat in the winter mornings when I go out for a walk with my dog. Basically is to keep me worm. I don’t use hat anywhere else.

back in my mom’s day, the women were fashionable and wore hats regularly. today it is for the fashionably bold or the practical woman to wear as protective headgear(to keep warm or keep sun’s rays at bay. It would be so great to bring back the trend. Men are more daring with hats these days than women are.

I’m not really a hat person but I LOVE the sweater you’re wearing! Where did you get it?

I rarely wear hats…not because I hate to, but because most hats don’t fit me! Apparently I have a huge head? I know I’m Asian and stuff, but jeez I must have a head the size of the moon! >.<

I looooove hats and wear them all the time. I obviously don’t wear them at work but the rest of the time if I am out of the house there is a hat on my head. There are people that probably would not recognize me without a hat… I tend to wear cloches most of the time, but do have a few wide-brimmed hats for the summer.

I almost never wear hats, but I should wear them more often – I like how I look in hats 🙂 I wish it were colder here so I had more reason to, though I suppose there are lots of non-warm hat styles!

I love hats. I’ve knitted one and crocheted two. I plan to knit another one. I don’t have enough of them. They are the best statement piece. Once upon a time hats were a part of everyone daily “uniform”. I love newsboy, cloche and fedora but like most styles.
Jennifer says
Never! I don’t think I look as cute as you do in them!
Tova says
I LOVE hats, and was always a hat person as far back as I can remember. As a kid, my mom dressed me in dresses with matching hats, and to this day, I typically wear one every day!
I am surprised by how many people say they love hats, but feel silly wearing them…whenever I see someone else in a hat, I do a double take, because they amp up the style of an outfit SO much! All it takes to wear one is a bit of confidence–and if you don’t have it–just fake it till you make it! I promise, it will come!

I love your sweater!

I have a couple newsboy style hats in brown, gray and black that I never wear because every time I do my husband quotes Dickens’ Oliver Twist with “Please Sir, may I have some more?” But I still can’t get myself to part with them. I want to find a vegan cloche hat now!
