I could easily spend all day on Instagram, for real! I dunno… I just like seeing what people are up to, what noms they’re eating, and what has the whole Instagram cat community buzzing. It’s my favorite social network right meow partly because it’s so dang easy to use from my phone, and I love it for inspiration. Food, makeup, photography, travel, home decor — you can pretty much find inspiration for anything on Instagram.
And TEH KITTEHS!? There are SO many Instagram cats!
Buuut, since Tabs keeps me on a pretty short leash throughout the workday, I don’t get to check it as much as I want.
After Instagram, there’s Facebook, but I’ve never been totally crazy about the layout (it’s always seemed cluttered to my eye). I do like keeping up with people in the Facebook comments, though, because it’s easy to follow a conversation. Plus, everyone I chat with on Facebook is super nice.
I also try to jump on Pinterest (which is also a great source of cat inspiration when you need it) and Twitter a couple times a day to skim for news and funny tweets.
All in all, I guess you could say that I’m moderately active on social media. I wonder what the next big one will be like. 🙂
How about you? How active are you on social media?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

So I am super passive on Facebook.I rarely post and I went through and cleaned out a bunch of people from my “friends” list. Lol.it is just handy for the few groups I belong in and keeping in touch with family.
I like twitter for retweeting contests and following cosmetic companies and bloggers.
I think my fave social media platform is Instagram. I love pictures and I post a decent amount on there. Instagram is awesome for following bloggers and looking for makeup swatches. I have also discovered some really cool etsy shops from Instagram (this is now why I have a trophy yeti head above my fireplace mantle lol).
Pinterest is a close second. I pin a lot of beauty and art/tattoo related stuff. Also very handy for finding recipes in a pinch!
I would say I spend most of my time on Instagram.

I guess fairly active overall, but it’s mostly blog-related rather than personal.
I have a personal Facebook profile but I update it about twice a year (usually with pics of vacation). I really don’t like Facebook that much, it’s too… I don’t know, gossipy? I don’t always want to know so many details about the life of people I know, ya know what I mean?
I use Twitter and Instagram multiple times a day but it’s 99% beauty/blog related, same for Pinterest.
I used to LOVE Pinterest, but somehow my feed is getting more messy and less inspirational. I don’t think I followed many more people so I’m not sure what happened.

Hey Karen and bump ??
I deleted my Facebook in January of last year, I don’t use Twitter, snapchat or anything like that. I have an Instagram but only to follow people ( you being one of them) but I don’t post anything. I like my privacy and the least people know about me the better I say lol ?

I’m probably the most active on Instagram. I post a few pics every day. And I share those on Twitter as well. On facebook I only post my blog post of the day and I rarely look at my Pinterest.

I am a little addicted to Social Media. My personal FB page is always open on my desktop although I don’t usually post that much. I occasionally post on IG although I look at it and browse through it a million times a day! I love IG! I am not crazy about Twitter, I do like Pintrest for inspiration!
Marina (Makeup4all) says
Pinterest is definitely my favourite, I check it every day!

I would probably say I’m not too active. I don’t have an Instagram account, I check my Twitter account maybe once or twice a month, closed my LinkedIn account ages ago. I do check in on Facebook once a day to see if any friends have messaged me. I can’t recall that last time I looked at Pinterest. I call, text and meet my friends in person more often than on social media. I guess I’m just really old and square.

I’m not currently, nor have I ever been on Facebook. I like privacy and don’t care that much about what someone had for lunch today!
But I use the Internet a lot for shopping, researching makeup, etc.

Instagram is my my favorite, because cats! 🙂 I have fun running my cat account and I’ve found the cat community on there to be supportive and helpful of each other.
I use Facebook mostly to keep in touch with family and friends. I never get on Twitter and don’t even have the app on my phone. I only get into Pinterest if I’m looking for something specific. Or I use it when I’m “window shopping” online and want to save things to look at later.
It still boggles my mind how much technology has exploded within the past 10-15 years. I remember the good ol’ days before all this stuff and it’s kind of cool to see how things have changed. 🙂

I love Instagram. I often just scroll through it looking at pretty photos. I have tweetdeck up in my browser during the day while I’m working. Not really a fan of Facebook but I’m in a lot of groups there where I chat with people. I love Tumblr too, for lots of pretty images and some thought provoking stuff.

Life was better before social media.
Having some kind of online presence is necessary to stay relevant, though.
Blogs are my favorite, though sadly Facebook has taken over most of them.
Heather L says
I wasn’t sure if blogs counted or not, but I like the way a good blog gives so much more information than can be conveyed on Twitter and Instagram. The other bonus is that the writers are much more likely to be thoughtful about what they are writing and edit their post, rather than just quickly typing something undrafted. This is why I like YouTube also – more detail and usually more planned out rather than spontaneous.

I’m on FB a lot. Twitter and Tumblr I’m on once in a while. I don’t use my Pinterest and don’t have an Instagram.

Not nearly as much as I used to be. I used to be on Facebook all the time, but then I pretty much left for a couple years while I took care of some stuff for my kids. I used to use Twitter more for business, but I don’t do that any more. Mostly now I like some of the beauty blog forums. I watch Youtube quite a bit, but I don’t post anything, and I don’t comment a lot.
I’ve mostly gotten bored with social media. On Facebook, I feel like I can’t say anything without someone getting offended or pissed off. No one posts anything meaningful any more. Just pictures of cats, games invites, selfies, song lyrics or videos…it’s so vapid. Twitter is mostly people selling things. People are so rude and feel they can make judgmental, hurtful comments about others. I post occasionally on social media and check in with a few friends, but I’m over social media.
Heather L says
I got away from Facebook and Twitter for the same reasons. I was getting a lot of “updates” that I thought were completely irrelevant, and it wasn’t worth my time to sort through them. Instagram’s easier to “weed through” because it’s primarily photos rather than text.

What a great queation! I’ve been very anti social media until lately. I’ve just moved to my 3rd country and miss my friends, so to keep in touch ,heaply, I reopened FB. I also find it very cluttered and keep my friends minimal…just mybfriends! Not my best friends neighbors daughters co workers sons girlfriend type of “friend!”
Erin says
For my blog, I have a FB account and Twitter account that are 100% separate from my personal life. I have an Instagram and Pinterest that are mixed business and personal. I feel like I can put myself out there in those two formats with little backlash over personal photos or ideas. I have a personal FB. Due to my husbands job, I limit my posting there too. Big Brother is always watching us.
Instagram is my favorite, all the food, pets, landscapes, still lifes, beauty, wine, and art… it’s all there!
Chelsea says
I’m very active on Facebook, and relatively active on Pinterest (although it’s gone a bit downhill, imho). I also read Reddit (certain communities, there’s a lot of people there that aren’t great in Reddit as a whole) I used to Tweet, now I don’t. I also studied social media academically (just got a journal article published, holllaaaaa), so it’s kind of just something that goes with the territory.
But I also used to frequent Livejournal communities and message boards since I was a young teen – I grew up with this.

I go “social” in spurts, I guess. I probably drive all my friends crazy posting 5 million photos at once to IG. Fortunately, none of my friends are on Twitter, so I RT for contests and comment on stuff a lot. I peruse FB for contests sometimes and to say HI to old friends I haven’t seen in years. I love Youtube, but not to post videos, just to watch how to videos mostly. I also love your videos, especially when da Tabs makes an unexpected appearance. My cat would totally do that and probably sprawl across my make-up because he must be the center of attention at all times. 😉
Heather L says
I have Facebook and Twitter accounts, but I rarely use them anymore. I use LinkedIn about once a week, trying to advance my career. But the main ones, that I use daily, are Instagram and YouTube. There’s something that really appeals to my sense of instant gratification about getting my updates in the form of colorful photos rather than dry text on Instagram. YouTube I am even more addicted to because of my favorite beauty vloggers. I take tremendous guilty pleasure in sharing in on their hauls, and I find their favorites and reviews both informative and entertaining. Lately I’ve had to cut down on the number I watch because I find myself “needing” too many products if I watch all of them that I like! I’m trying to limit myself to about 6 that I watch all the time. I am hooked!
Jennifer says
What a question. I probably spend half my life on social media, sad but true. I have to be on it for my day job to keep up with what’s happening in the area and to stay on top of other media outlets.
Then I’m on it at night networking for my blog. It never ends.
Instagram is by far my favorite. I could Instagram all day. I’m tired of Facebook. I visit Twitter for news. I spend a few minutes a day pinning because it’s like my second highest source of blog traffic. And I”m about to dive into Stumbleupon,

I know corpses that are more active on social media than I am (almost). I sit in front of a screen all day at work so, when I get home, I don’t like to do that if I don’t have to. This is not a dig at all to people who love it but, I’ve never really been that into knowing what other people are saying/doing. I totally get your comments about inspiration, though. There is some great stuff out there. I guess I don’t have the patience to wade through the rest of the self-centered, mundane stuff to get to it. 🙂

I am so addicted to social media, it’s not even funny anymore 😀 I have a serious love for Pinterest, I love creating mood boards and finding new inspiration on it!
