“Gobble gobble!”
It’s Thanksgiving here today in the U.S., and Tabs, El Hub and I will be celebrating with a small festive Thanksgiving feast featuring large quantities of turkey! crab!
Yes, crab (we’re trying something different).
But we’ve got some of the traditional fixin’s too, like we’ve got stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans, pecan pie, mashed potatoes (and gravy, of course, purr Tabs)…
I can’t take credit for everything. I did make the potatoes, some corn and prepped the crab (like that’s hard), but some of our local eateries also helped, which is code for, “Some of it came from Whole Foods and Costco.” The plan for the day is to stay in my jammies as long as humanly possible, watch football (go Niners!), relax and start eating at noon, hopefully wrapping up the eating portion of the activities around 5:30, at which point I will most likely pass out. 🙂
Thank you, as always, for keeping me company and for putting up with my product review bizarreness (WOW! Bizarreness is actually a word?). Stay warm and have a wonderful day. Talk to you soon.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Agata says
Happy Thanksgiving, Karen! Enjoy the family and food! And thank you for your wonderful reviews, for your creativity, for your sweetness and being a good friend!
Karen says
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too, Agata! Have fun at your celebration! Will you be doing anyone’s makeup today? 🙂
Agata says
Thank you! No, I barely have time to do my own makeup- I work till 5, dinner is at 6. I still don’t know what makeup to wear with my fuchsia dress.
Karen says
What did you end up going with?
I hope you went with a bright lipstick. It’s the lazy-woman’s answer to dressy makeup that doesn’t require a lot of effort.
We finished our meal a couple hours ago… Now I’m doing major damage to this pecan pie!
Agata says
I ended up wearing Nars Phoebe all over my eyelid paired with Buzz in the crease from UD Naked 3 palette and some Kat Von D black liner and lots of mascara. For the lips I went with Nars Audacious lipstick in Anna.
The dinner was delicious but I didn’t go over the top! Can you believe I have never tried a pecan pie?

Hi Melissa,
Thank you! 🙂 I hope that you’re having a nice day so far. Sending you a virtual slice of pecan pie over the interwebz, lol! Would you like some whipped cream with it?
Kiss & Make-up says
Oh thank you! No cream please. Ooooooomnomnom!
Karen says
Got it! Saved you a slice. Here, have some mashed potatoes to go. I made a TON of them. lol
Lisa says
Happy Thanksgiving! And thanks for all the funny stories and awesome reviews.
Karen says
Hi Lisa,
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope that you have a nice day. Are you cooking anything yummy this year?
Lisa says
I’m making all the usual suspects, (we got snowbound) but it’s really all just to get to the chocolate pecan pie.
Karen says
Seriously no kidding. The meal is just a warm up to the pie!
I may or may not be debating a third slice. 🙂
So, I’ve never had a chocolate pecan pie. Is the chocolate drizzled on the top?
Lisa says
Nope, just throw a cup (or more)
Tammy says
Happy Thanksgiving!! Sounds like a good day.
Karen says
Hi Tammy,
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too! What’s on your T-day to do list? I hope eating pie is at the top. LOL!
sarahc says
Happy Tgiving Karen! Eat some crab for me! 🙂
Karen says
Will do. Grab some extra pie! 🙂
Erin says
I’m making:
Feta Whipped Yukon Gold mashed potatoes
Apple cranberry stuffed turkey
Cornbread stuffing with fried sage
Lemon and black truffle green beans
and because I am lazy, a Marie Calendars Razzleberry pie for desert.
We are also having some of the cranberry Prosecco I reviewed 2 weeks ago!
Karen says
Sounds delicious! Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. 🙂

And a Happy Thanksgiving to you and all of your loved ones, Karen! Thank you for your blog, your wonderful, amazing photos (especially of Tabs) and your humor and good will all through the year. Please know that every day you bring a little joy, happiness and laughter into many people’s lives – as well as educating us about beauty products. Enjoy your day! (Is Tabs going to have some crab?)
Karen says
Thank you for this sweet note, Betsy! Tabs sends purrs and biscuits your way. He is very happy because he got to eat crab and gravy (his favorite) today.
Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving! Did you host this year?
Betsy says
No,I didn’t host this year. Lucky me, I was invited to a friend’s home and had a great time eating and enjoying everyone’s company! Was even sent home with a goody bag of leftovers!
Ruchita says
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you and El Hub and Tabs have a great day. 🙂 Mingus, Ella and Nina say meow!
Karen says
Hi Ruchita,
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! Did the kitties get any special holiday treats? Tabs tried crab for the first time this year. He also got some gravy!
Ruchita says
Ooo, I bet Tabs loved the crab! What a lucky boy. 🙂 Mingy got a little taste of butter from when I was baking. Otherwise, it was business as usual – mainly a lot of sleeping for the kitties. 🙂
