Seeing as how tomorrow is the very last day of the year…I think it does have more significance that a normal day, since we’re wrapping up 2014 and all!
I want to spend the day feeling good about myself and having fun with El Hub and Tabs. 🙂
I’ll probably do just enough to feel put tougher, but I don’t want to spend half the day futzing with my makeup and hurr (although, admittedly, sometimes I do).
Makeup-wise, I’m thinking easy, polished neutral eyes and a nude lip, like what I wore in the Mia Beauty Braidie post a few days ago.
It’s a look I can knock out pretty quickly (about 25 minutes if I’m focused), and I like the way it looks in the mirror.
If we end up staying in tomorrow night, I may just leave it at that, but if we go out for New Year’s Eve, I dunno… Perhaps I’ll top off my lids with a MAC Pressed Pigment, or add a sparkly Urban Decay Glitter Liner to my lash lines. And/or false lashes and a bold, bright lip.
As for my hair, I’ll be rockin’ the messy, choppy waves.
Most of the time these days we stay in for New Year’s, but we’re trying to get tickets to see a Prince cover band (She wore a raspberry beret! The kind you find in a second hand store!) at a nightclub in San Rafael.
Fun!
It’s very last-minute, so it may not pan out, but I hope it does! If it doesn’t, then I guess we’ll just be playing Prince at home and dancing around the living room. 🙂
Hey, babe! How about you? Gazing into the future for a moment, how are you (probably) going to do your hair and makeup tomorrow?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

No plans for New Years Eve .. so will probably just do an every day neutral face and watch the ball drop on the TV 😉

I just posted my look I am going to wear tomorrow on my blog so you can check it out. I am definitely going to wear the UD glitter liner and I am curling my hair with the new curling wand I got for Christmas. I don’t have any grand plans, just hanging out with my friends at their house but I do think the last night of the year deserves a special makeup! And I hope your plans do work out!
Divya says
Not a thang! probably..! But if I was compelled I’d smudge some cream eyeshadow on the eyes, curl my lashes, go overboard with Tarte’s Exposed blush and swipe Dior’s lip glow! Easy peasy! With the hair its bed-head everyday! 🙂
Debra says
Hair: Maybe a headband so I can diversity the growing-in look!
Makeup: I bought NARS Kauai the other day so it’s a must-use for the quiet night at home! Probably a nudish-pink lip. Maybe Belize lip gloss though.
Have fun whatever you do, Karen!

Not any HUGE plans, but the family is all here now (and the boyfriend gets in at six!), so we will be cooking up a storm tomorrow. A friend and I are going to double date on NYE and go out for drinks, food, and Cards Against Humanity! 😀
I’ll probably use my “glamorous makeup” staple: Chanel Tisse Venitien. That thing saves my butt every single time I need some fancy makeup to go out. It’s so easy and always looks great!
Fingers crossed for your Prince band tickets, Karen!

A yet-to-be-chosen MAC pigment, most likely from the “Fabulous Felines” LE, winged liner, neutral lip.
There has to be glitter on NYE, even if it will end up smudged all over the couch as I fall asleep there at half past ten…
I other words, we are staying in. Quiet night with Mr. Loca and the Little Bean, as babysitters are horrendously expensive this day and my parents decided to go out themselves (shocking, I know).
Have fun, Karen! Thank you for brightening my 2014 and introducing me to so many lovely bloggers.

I am most probably going to be rocking a 20s vibe tomorrow so I am trying to find a modernized 20s look online to get some inspiration 🙂

Having some friends over for dinner. I am thinking loose wavy hair and bronzy eyes – all this talk of pigments makes me want to bust out ‘tan’, a bit of a forgotten fav. Depending on how crazy I go on the eyes see if I do a berry or nude lip.
Happy new year!

I’ll be staying in with the family and my bestie-for-life who is on her way down to see me 🙂 I’ll have loose curls – day 3 hair – and basic makeup. Plus lots of tasty food and eggnog cheesecake for dessert…it has a gingerbread cookie and pecan crust that is to die for!

Party at my mother in laws house tomorrow… so looking into my crystal ball, I will be wearing:
my shoulder length bob/mullet hair in loose waves. Going to the beauty salon after work today, so that should suffice.
AND I’m attempting to wear false lashes for the first time EVER tomorrow. Yes, a bold move. But since I’m off tomorrow, I will do a trial run in the morning before running my errands (laundry, cleaning out the dust from 2014.) I’ll keep the rest of the look natural with my everyday foundation, light contour and blush and neutral lips for all the midnight kissing!
Happy New Year Karen!

I loooooove it 🙂 I really like your hair up like that, Karen. And your make-up looks fab, as always.

Probably going to be:
Hair: Maybe just a little bit of wax/pomade – it’s getting towards my monthly cut, though, so my pixie’s getting long and shaggy and if I put gel in it now, I’ll end up looking like an electrocuted porcupine.
Makeup:
Face: MAC Strobe cream, NARS concealer (Chantilly), NARS tinted moisturizer (Terre Neuve), NARS multiple (Copacabana), possibly a little bit of blush and/or bronzer (NARS Laguna and/or Sex Fantasy).
Eyes: NARS Blondie (eyebrows, lower lashline and crease), NARS Dione (wet on eyelids), NARS volumizing mascara
Lips: This is the hard one. I have several ideas I’m debating (a few of which would necessitate perhaps changing some of my other makeup):
– NARS Train Bleu over Never Say Never
– NARS Dragon Girl
– Chanel Incandescente (97)
– NARS Club Mix
– NARS Sexual Healing over Sex Machine
…I may be overthinking this a bit, considering I don’t even have my outfit yet.

Cute idea for a post! I’ll probably be wearing minimal makeup since that’s how I want 2015 to be 🙂 A glowy base with the Nars Radiant Cream foundation and a little RMS living luminizer action and a peachy cheek (Nars Gilda, my all time fave). Basic eyes with mac soba all over the lid and some black eyeliner either winged out or just a pencil to make my lashes look thicker. Probably will add a few individual lashes on the outer corners just to make things feel a little special! For lips I think I’ll go for YSL Glossy Stain in Corail Hold Up.
Happy New Year Karen!!

I have a slightly problem with that. See even we are just going to family I want to look nice. I am going to wear a neon peach dress , and has a flare skirt that has blue mint and neon peach combined. I was thinking
a aqua metallic eyeliner on my waterline specific millany liquidfy metallic eyeliner in aqua, a hint of glitter of the same shade on the out corner of the lid, a pale blush. and probably nothing one my lips.
I could not make a decision for my nail polish so I opted for glossy black with a accent nail on a dark neon peachy and glitter top coat on top. Want it glam but not extravagant. If you have better suggestions tell me 🙂 please.

I’m going to a NYE party that a friend invited me to. Hair- I actually did my hair last night. I did a rod set on very small hair rollers. Took about 3 hours but it’s super cute & will last at least 2 weeks. Makeup-wise, I’m still really digging my MAC Antiqued eyeshadow so I plan to create my face around it. I’m also thinking about purchasing a new blush from Iman Cosmetics (Sable) since none of the blushes that I have help to “ground” the whole look. Nude lips, though I REALLY wish I had MAC Viva Glam 2 Rihanna.
I’ve been meaning to pick up a pair of really cute booties that I found at DSW to wear with my faux leather pants. Kinda excited about getting dressed! Totally hope you guys get those tickets!!

Sounds like an awesome beauty look for you, Karen! I am not sure what I will be doing. Tomorrow I am working 8:30 to 5, and my in-laws are doing something at their house, but I’m not sure if I will go. As I’ve gotten older, I don’t like to be out on New Year’s unless I am working because of drunk drivers. Seen way too much of the aftermath of that in the ER. I just got Stila foil eyeshadow in Lilac, so I may wear that tomorrow. I’ve been eyeing up the Stila foil shadows for a little over a year and splurged on one today. Hubby also got me Vice 3 for my birthday, which was December 26, so I could also wear some colors from that. There is a lot of fallout, but I love the colors and the intensity of the palette. I’m a sucker for UD and Stila – they could come out with the worst products in the world and I’d still love them.
Have a happy NYE!

I’m probably going to wear my hair in a curly fro and keep my makeup simple. Maybe a brown smokey eye, lots of lashes, highlight, contour and a glittery lip

I’m not sure. If we do anything it will be last minute. So a 10 minute face. We’re having a party on Friday with friends here at the house. I’m making my spicy lamb Bolognese and we’re having board games too. For that, I’m busting out a layered red lip and a navy winged liner! Stepping outside my comfort zone in 2015!

Love ur neutral makeup look… :-*
I don’t any plans as such just a small family get together at my place till 2015 ;-)..
Makeup wise it is going to be simple eyes with colored liner slightly smudges and a bright red or pink lippy 🙂
Wish u have the best of 2014 on this last day of the year..

Wow, I would really like to join you seeing the Prince cover band!
We well spend the night with friends at their house, we’ll bring some rockets and fireworks and food. It’s called “Raclette”, do you know this? You have small pans and kind of a cookplate that you put in the center of the table. You prepare different ingredients like e.g. onions, ham (if you’re not vegetarian), mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers and-very important-a special kind of raclette cheese (it’s quite fat). You put all these things that you like into your little pan and the cheese on top and put it into that raclette oven thing and wait some minutes until the cheese gets a little brown and crusty. It’s sooo gooooood!
You also can cook some patotoes before and and eath them with all together, and butter … Mmmmmmm.
You can eat during the whole evening, and you will be sooo full! 🙂
Raclette is very popular at New Year’s Eve in Germany, like “Feuerzangenbowle” or “Fondue”. 😉
I had a bad headache this morning, but now it’s getting better, luckily.
Makeupwise I will not put on too much because these friends are more “natural” guys, so I won’t do the great-glitter-thing today. 😉 And after the celebrating I will not have to remove my makeup for like 30 minutes in their bathroom. 😉
I wish everyone a happy new year!!

I never leave comments anywhere, but I haven’t heard “futzing around” in sooo long- my parents said it all the time- that it made me laugh really hard!

I’m not going out tonight, so nothing special. Today I wore BB Cream, Tarte blush in Breathless, eyes in matte browns (Tartelette palette), black liner and lashes, and lips in Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Pretty Persimmon.

My hair is just in a simple black stretchcomb headband.
