During the week I like doing full face looks with foundation, eye makeup — the whole nine yards — but the weekends are a different story.
If I’m just gonna lounge around the house or run errands, I might just wear a little tinted moisturizer, concealer, brow powder, blush and gloss.
It depends, but unless I have big plans, I usually won’t spend much time on my makeup on Saturday and Sunday. Unless, of course, I’m just playing around. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Have you ever seen Buena Vista Social Club? I can’t believe I never have. I’m watching it right now and being kinda blown away. GREAT MUSIC!
How’s it going tonight? Are you ready for Monday? Sorry, that’s a terrible question. I’m not ready, LOL! I’ll hang in there if you do.
Carly says
No, I usually don’t. I’ll just put on a little bit of Benefit’s Posie-tint to keep my face lively looking and a nudish lipstick and I’m good to go. I like to let my skin breathe!

If I’m just at home, usually I don’t. I’m usually studying and sometimes napping (oops!) so there’s really no point. If I go shopping or run errands, I might put on some lip gloss or colour, and if I look really pale I’ll put on a bit of blush to keep from looking like a vampire or a zombie. If I have an event or a date or a party in the evening, though, I will often put in a fair bit of effort (because it’s fun and I like to doll up sometimes!).

Hi Karen!
I usually only wear makeup on the weekends if I’m going somewhere, or if I’m playing around with new looks, which I haven’t done in a while. Otherwise, I go completely bare-faced.
My weekend was pretty boring. I’m trying to study for finals, but I’m mostly procrastinating. I have one tomorrow, one on Thursday, and one on Friday. The Thursday one is the one I’m mostly concerned about, but I’m still aiming for a couple of hours of studying tonight for tomorrow’s exam. I’m such a procrastinator! Ugh.
Anyway, hope you have a great Monday tomorrow. 😀

I’ll still wear some blush and foundation on the weekends. Sometimes it’s fun to get made up for no reason on the weekends!
Christy says
Generally I like to do a full face when I go out. If I’m just walking my dog and doing things at home, I’ll just have lip gloss.
Tonight I’m watching TV and setting up my Christmas tree since I just got one today. It was on sale for $50, regularly $180! 😀 & it’s pre-lighted!!

I don’t really ever wear a full face of make-up except for my choir concerts. Then I put on foundation (I HATE foundation), concealer, pencil in my brows, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, blush, lip liner, lipstick and lipgloss. I normally wear tinted moisturizer, concealer, eyeshadow/liner, mascara and a teensy bit of blush and carry about three different glosses (I can’t help it, my gloss mood changes constantly). I don’t make my brows all that bold but it’s necessary for concerts or you look browless! I always feel like I have ten tons of make-up on on concert day.
Tonight, I’m finishing up my Social Psychology final (on the last question, yay!!!!). I’ve been doing essays all week! 11 more days until freedom. 11 more days until freedom. 11 more days!!!! I tell you, after this, I am not taking any essay heavy courses for at least a semester. One or two essays are fine but this many is hell. I cannot tell you how happy I am that this is nearly done. I only have two days of finals. Yay!!!!!! Tomorrow is my Soc. Psy final. Ich.

Makeup for me is still pretty new, since I just got into it under a year ago. I usually wear TM on weekends (and it’s not uncommon for me to wear it during the week, as well). In fact, when I was at CVS today I found out that Aveeno is discontinuing their TM (what I wear), so I bought two more bottles of it. Beyond that, I play 🙂 Sometimes I just use Bourbon, Shell Pearl, and a gloss, sometimes I do more. Sometimes I do it just to sit at home all day . . . because I love seeing what sorts of things I can do now, and what looks I can achieve. Besides, that liquid liner requires SO MUCH PRACTICE!
Ellie says
Hi Karen! Great question! I usually do minimal makeup on the weekdays, since I’m rushing for work. Since I have more time on the weekends, I tend to do something a little more interesting. Today I finally figured out a lightly smudged lined eye using an Almay eye kit. I love their under-eye concealer/corrector. It’s more yellow than I would have picked out, but it does work well.
I agree with Hyzenthlay, I need to practice with liquid liner- it’s tricky!
Rae says
LOL, I am the exact opposite from you! I rarely ever wear makeup during the week, but because I don’t have to be out of the house as quickly on the weekends, I’ll put on a full face ^^ If I’m not leaving the house, though, I don’t bother at all.
Sunday sucked (and ended with me making bagels and banana crumb muffins; I bake the way some people ice-cream-binge) and I am so not ready for Monday. Uuugh, I hate the feeling of pulling myself out from under my heated blanket and into the cold!

Never ready for Monday.
I do a full face of MU unless I know for sure I am not leaving my house all day. I just don’t feel comfortable enough going bare faced to the world… I at least need some foundation, blush, mascara & brows done.

I’m with Marisol–always wearing a full face unless I’m absolutely positive I won’t be leaving the house. And since I usually wind up having to go somewhere anyway, even when I thought I wouldn’t have to, I’m nearly always wearing makeup. I just hate catching a glimpse of my bare face! I look blotchy with super dark circles without it! And I feel naked without eyeliner and mascara.
Catherine says
I usually do. I find that my skin behaves a lot better if I take the effort to properly wash, tone, moisturize and apply sunscreen, and from there, my powder realllllly helps keep my face from getting too oily and clogged. I actually get more acne if I don’t wear makeup than on the days that I do. And… hey, if I’m going to be applying some powder, then I may as well do the rest too! Furthermore, my makeup is my me-time in the morning and a way for me to collect myself before I go face the day. I don’t see the weekends as any different. =)

Only if I’m going somewhere or I’ve got guests coming over. Otherwise not a scrap-just moisturiser and lip balm. Although I sometimes try looks out from magazines on a sunday or play with my new MAC hual…..:)
Sarah says
I’m with Rae and Ellie, I’m more likely to do elaborate/more time consuming make up on the weekends. Since I’m always rushing int eh mornings on weekdays, I typically do my makeup at work, which means I do it very quickly. I usually do eyeliner, mascara, blush and clear gloss on weekdays. Sometimes a bit of undereye concealer. Weekends, I add some shadow, fill in my brows and usually a lip color.
gio says
It depends. I’ll do a full face if I’m going out, but if I’m staying in I only wear lip balm and let my skin breathe.

My idea of a full face and yours are different. Your weekend face sounds like my average full face (unless I feel like impressing someone… rare), but I *do* wear it on weekends, too.
Kajal Couture says
I usually do because that is when I see people. I work from home, so M-F I have little motivation to wear makeup, but when I go out on weekends, that is when I bust out the train case. =)

I don’t usually do a full face makeup on weekends, but it really depends. If I need to attend some events/functions on weekends, then of course, I will put on a full face makeup. And sometimes, even on a weekday, i just go out with a light tinted moisturizer, blush and lippie..
Just depends on how I feel at that particular moment!

Hi Karen!
I actually don’t wear any makeup during the work week! There’s only about 10-13 people I see at work every day (I work at a VERY small startup company), so I usually don’t care to impress them. Conversely, I will wear makeup on the weekends if I need to go out.
I think a network needs to air a *really good* show on Mondays, so then maybe people will be a little happier when Monday rolls around… 🙂
Roxanne says
I tend to do it more on the weekends than during the week (getting up at 5 AM to do makeup, hellooo?!). I used to do it everyday but toned it down a little because people would only know my makeup face and then be in total horror of my bare face (“Roxanne…? Are you in there somewhere?”). Besides, my skin is acting up for the last few months and putting makeup on tends to make it worse plus no one likes a pimple with 7 layers of makeup over it, right? It’s like not shaving for once and hoping no one will notice it. It’s so obvious.
I really hope it clears up soon 🙁 How am I supposed to play with all my new goodies?! (I can’t just wear e/s by itself, it looks SO much better paired with foundation. Otherwise the effect is completely gone.)
wehkwas says
It pretty much all depends on my plans for the weekend.
Alice says
it’s the opposite for me: i rarely have time for a full face on weekdays, so i’ll just slap on some liner, mascara and powder/blush. on weekends ans special occasions though, i’ll do a full face and the fun stuff!
Shannon says
Lately, I’ve really been dying to do bright and exciting eye looks, but since I work in an office I try not to get too crazy during the week. The weekends are my only opportunity to really bust anything awesome out, so I’ve been taking advantage of that!
Sheba says
If I am just staying home, I use the makeup I bought that I don’t “love” just so it doesn’t go to waste. =)

I never do a full face, even for formal events. But I wear something every day. Unfortunately for me, foundations and powders tend to do more harm than good. I wear blush already, and can’t have that many layers going on.
Megan says
I wear a full face to church on Sundays. Saturdays are usually bare faced or less makeup but it depends on what I am doing.
amy says
It depends on my mood and where I am going or doing. If I am going out then I would do a full face. Most of the time on weekdays I go the bare minimum because I don’t have a lot of time to get ready. I like to sleep to the latest hour I can get away with.

It depends on my mood. I work at home so usually I don’t NEED to wear makeup. Sometimes I am all in my pyjamas and wear no makeup but sometimes I like being all dressed and wearing makeup like I have a meeting with a client even if I don’t have any.
Kelly says
During the week, I do a full face of makeup for going to class, internship, etc. Having makeup on wakes me up and helps me feel ready for day (in a weird way). On weekends, I try to wear less. Saturdays I normally will sport a full face, but on Sundays I try to go barefaced (or a little concealer) to let my skin breathe.
ritadebora says
I do a full face on week days to go to work. I work in an office and we are just a few, sometimes clients show up, sometimes no one from “outside” shows up, but I like to wear makeup, not to impress the others, but to start the day “having fun” because I need that to make the week day start at least more interesting.
On weekends I only use makeup if I know I’m going out and if that’s a Saturday. Usualy Sundays are to rest at home and that’s the day I don’t wear makeup at all. Even if I end up going out, I don’t wear makeup.
Janine says
I will if I’m in the mood, it all depends on the mood, I’ll especially be in the mood if I’m leaving that house that day 🙂
