** THE GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED **
This giveaway is closed, and the winner has been contacted (CONGRATULATIONS, KATHERINE!!!), but check back next Saturday for another giveaway.
Goood morning, glory! Rise and shine! 🙂 You’re going to have a wonderful day.
I hope you slept well. I feel like I could have slept longer, but you know how it is when you work for a demanding feline employer. The early cat catches the bird. The tabby alarm clock woke me up early because we have to get out there on patrol. It’s bright and sunny this morning, so who knows how many cat intruders have infiltrated the perimeter of the hill…
Oh! — that movie last night? Inside Out? What an amazing movie, animated or otherwise. From this one (part-time) adult’s point of view, I thought it was brilliant. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a movie more thoughtfully present joy, depression, fear, anger and general adolescence, at least not in a way as entertaining as this. I kept thinking, “Holy crap! That’s really what it’s like!” when they’d show one of the characters overjoyed or depressed. Highly recommended for children of all ages. I think it’s right up there with Pixar’s best.
In other news, are you doing anything for Father’s Day tomorrow? My brother and I are taking my dad out to lunch, but I’m not sure where yet. My dad is kind of picky when it comes to food, so we’re going to let him pick the restaurant. Chances are it’ll be something involving charred meat, and I’ll just go with the flow… Hopefully there will be some semblance of veggies involved.
Good luck in the giveaway, my friend. Have a great weekend, and I’ll talk to you soon.

I was 34 when I got my first cell phone!
My two girls got phones at 14 and can’t believe I lived without one.
Gretel Rodriguez says
The toughest person I know is my little brother whom was there holding back his tears when my mom died.
jenn says
My lazy day makeup look is probably no makeup at all but if I am going out to a quick store run I’ll put on some foundation, mascara and whatever lip gloss is already in my purse.
Jana says
My go-to lazy makeup look is either no makeup or just a bb cream/lightweight foundation with blush, mascara and a lip balm!
Trillina Palemi says

Lisa Brown says
I would use a good eyeshadow quad the most
Katherine says
The toughest person I know is probably my mom! She’s been through a lot, in 1 year she went from stage 3B breast cancer to being practically “cured,” she has had ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease for more than ten years, a lot of financial difficulties, and she had to deal with me as a teenager! Despite that she’s still able to be optimistic, outgoing, silly and goofy!
I have a really good imagination, I’m a professional daydreamer!
Even if I’m just leaving the house to go to the grocery store, I still put on some makeup. I feel totally naked without it. The barest I’ll go is blemish and under eye concealer, tinted moisturizer (the Laura Mercier one has pretty good coverage), tinted brow gel, bronzer, and lip balm. That’s a pretty rare look for me, I almost always wear real foundation.
I was pretty young when I first got a cell phone, since my house was a few miles from my school and me and my brother walked too and from school every day. My mom wanted us to be safe. I can’t remember exactly how old I was but it was definitely in middle school A pale pink Motorola Razor flip phone! I was the envy of all my friends.
I would definitely use the 10 pan palette more, since I rarely do the same makeup look more than a few times! I will always pick the more versatile option. I would feel stifled by only having a few shades!
jessica says
Who’s the toughest person you know?
ME
Do you have a good imagination?
IT RUNS RAMPANT. CONSTANTLY.
What’s your go-to lazy day makeup look?
NOTHING
How old were you when you got your first cell phone?
23
Which would you use more: a good eyeshadow quad or an amazing 10-pan palette?
I NEED THAT AMAZING 10 PAN PALETTE.
Melissa says
I would use an amazing 10-pan palette more, i love trying new things and switching up my looks! 🙂
Katie says
I think a lot of problems I run into with eyeshadow palettes is that so many colors don’t suit ME. I’d rather own an eyeshadow quad with colors I’d use every day, rather than something that I’d only use half of.
Fancie says
I got my first cellphone when I was 12. You couldn’t tell me I wasn’t hot shit back then with my Nextel brick LOL. I used to make my mom buy me those Coach phone charms they used to sell every time we went to the outlet mall. As you can imagine I’ve been through a ton of phones since then but funny enough I still have the same number lol
Karen says

Or I just go barefaced and face the world
gabis says
My go-to lazy-day makeup might as well be called my everyday makeup because I’m always lazy or late lol and basically consists on bb cream, a little concealer around the eyes, mascara and lipstick.

On days when I’m just not feeling putting on a lot of makeup, when I’ve only got a couple minutes, I’ll still put on powder (I have really oily skin, and my lotion tends to make me a little shiny), and I’ve got a tinted lip balm. A slightly fancier version of that includes eyeliner, and then maybe some mascara depending on how dramatic my eyeliner is.

My lazy makeup day is either no makeup…. or a bit of concealer on the eyelids with some taupe eyeshadow in the crease, a dark brown smudged against the lash line, some mascara, eyebrows, and if I’m feeling pale a bronzer on the cheeks. Sounds involved but it’s really not haha
Jen C says
Lazy-day makeup: BB cream, eyelash curler, brow powder, cream blusher, brightening, sheer lipstick! ALL applied with fingers as I can’t be fussed on a non makeup day!
I’d definitely go with that 10-PAN OPTION, thank you very much! (What can I say? A gal’s gotta have her options, guuurrrl!)

For Father’s Day, I’ll be making pancakes for the husband (unless he wants something else) and taking the toddler grocery shopping so he can have a little time to himself at home. Funny how when they’re little you just want a break from them because it’s so intense, but when they’re older I’m sure I’ll be begging them to spend time with me. 🙂

Kecia S. says
I got my first cell phone at 21, although it was technically for my mom. My phone came at 22; I got it through my first job.
I think an amazing 10-pallette provides more options, by a quad is easier to transport, especially if you’re traveling light.

Emily says
I got my first cell phone when I was 18. My parents didn’t let me get one until I could pay for it myself.

I’m 28 and i live in a very hot weather so i’m oily and i straggle with this so i need an advice for what to use no so heavy and that cover my marks. Greetings from Mexico.

I’m here at the local library.. It is so sad instead of the young kids reading books they’re spending hours on line playing killing games!
This is the reason why a lot of our kids are terrible students!

Tabs – I am going on a much needed vacation next month, but I’m worried about my bashful kitties hiding from their excellent petsitter. Can you give me any tips on instilling some of your confidence in them? #tabstherolemodel
gina says
I guess my dad was one of the strongest people that I knew – then I suppose I’d say myself. I deal with chronic pain, fibromyalgia, depression, and anxiety. Many days are not easy but I keep going. I try to… as of late it’s been difficult. Money’s tight and this world is rough. I really hate this world. I hate cell phones, it’s changed the world. No one talks to anyone anymore. It’s very sad. My latest blog was about exactly this. People don’t make friends – they hide behind this false sense of security these devices give. They’re just few real people anymore – and this s make me intensely sad.
Karen says
Hi Gina,
I’m sorry you’re going through a rough time. I hope things get better for you soon. Sending you good thoughts. -Karen
Kris Pope says
I can’t wait to see Jerassic World! For e/s, I’d have to go with a 10 pan. I’m always switching it up.
Gloria Jackson-Nefertiti says
What’s your go-to lazy day makeup look? Red lipstick and dark glasses do the trick!
Stephanie says
I have a pretty good imagination when it comes to my cats.
A big palette wins for me because I like options, with 2 or three palettes I can come up with multiple different looks. And it’s easy when traveling. (I am one that doesn’t skimp on makeup when I travel. I don’t care if it takes up a lot of room. I have a medium sized carry on that I use for my makeup and hair products)
Stephanie says
My dad hasn’t said ANYTHING about what he’d like us to do for Father’s Day. I hope it’s quiet – I’m getting pretty tired from running around! But he’s also talking about going to the A’s game. Who knows?
Miki says
I love a good palette with options, so give me a 10-pan over a quad any day.
Lala says
My lazy day look is usually a ball cap (to hide the scary hair LOL), some blush, lipgloss and a bit of mascara to open up my eyes. Pop on some sunnies and I’m out the door 🙂

If I win the Sephora ecard, I’ll be like a kid in a candy store as I’m new to wearing makeup after many years! Always loved it, though.
Nicole says
10 pan palette for the win. =)
Amoure Jones says
Happy Saturday Karen and Mr. Tabs,
Nothing much going on this Saturday for me but I’ll be catching up on some movies , so I guess it’s a: “Netflix kinda day” for me. Paddington and Still Alice have been set up shop in my home and I’m either going to watch them or see if I can get room and board out of them as long as they’ve been here. I’m looking forward to watching ‘Inside Out’ , because I’m a kid at heart (even at my age) and Pixar never disappoints.
My go-to lazy day makeup look usually consists of: spot treating w/ a little concealer, few dabs of bb cream, lashes and nude gloss. Nothing spectacular, but it does give me room in case I need to dress it up on the spur of the moment.
Have a wonderfully blessed and laid back Saturday.
Makyla says
Hey there, Karen! Hope you have a fun weekend. My mom is the toughest person I know, by far!! Thanks for offering another generous giveaway

My Mom is definitely the toughest person I know. She turned 90 this year and has survived 3 of her 5 children who died of heart disease before they even knew they had a heart problem. My lazy makeup look is the look I do every single day!! Nars tinted moisturizer, MAC mineralize skinfinish natural, too faced bronzer, and lancome mascara.
Kay P says
I received my first cell phone when I was 70. It was a nice, easy-to-use Razor cell phone. Now I have a “smartphone” – a misnomer if there ever was one! It has taken me a year and a Dummies book on my type of Samsung to try to learn to use it. My fingers don’t make the screen do anything at all – I have to use a stylus. I have been a computer geek for 18 years, but smartphones? I need a dumb phone!
Al says
Thanks for the giveaway, Karen! 🙂
Jackie Cummings says
Bobbi Brown is classic.

I would definitely use an amazing 10 pan palette more than a quad. I feel like quads don’t have enough options for me to complete my look, especially when traveling
Lulle says
I got my first cell phone when I was 18. I remember my youth in the 90s, when you were supposed to meet a friend somewhere and they were late, you actually had to wait. Imagine that today!

I got my first cell phone when I was 19 and it had an antenna to pull out and was half the size of my forearm. Our car ran over it once, but it kept working.

Hey Karen!
As an aspiring MUA, I would love a Sephora gift card to keep me on my way to fulfilling my dream! Currently still in school studying and working on my portfolio! Focusing mostly on bridal and fashion, although my mentor worked on “Republic of Doyle” (popular TV show in Newfoundland) as well as multiple other TV shows, therefore, I’m looking forward to shadowing him on set and maybe working more towards TV and Special FX. Right now as a full-time student as well as a full-time waitress, money is tough. A little goes a long way! I would probably buy FX cover drops as I’m dying to try them or maybe sort through the sale items as I’m always looking for a good bargain!
Lots of love from the little Canadian island of Newfoundland!
Maybe one day you’ll be reading my blog when I make it big.
Rebecca

Sadly, I doubt I will get to see my dad tomorrow. I wish I could but I am never a priority in his life.
Michelle says
Which would you use more: a good eyeshadow quad or an amazing 10-pan palette?
GAH. SO DIFFICULT! I’d have to go with an amazing 10 pan because I’m so SO fickle with color it’s ridiculous. I can rarely wear the same look two days in a row so a 10 pan palette would afford me a TON more combos. 😀
Carolyn says
Happy Caturday!
Toughest person….my boss.
I’ve a great imagination !
Weekend makeup….either playing with something new or Bare Minerals foundation, 1-2 eyeshadow, blush, lipstick/gloss
Would rather have one good quad….haven’t found one yet ….

I was 38 when I got my first cell phone and 40 when I disconnected it. I now used it as a tiny computer/ or for iMessages. Really, I don’t phone people very much.
I would use a shadow quad much more than a palette of 10 unless the palette happened to be all my goto colours – good luck!
Have a nice weekend. Love to Tabs.

i have NO imagination, which was proven years ago when my daughter asked me to come into her room to babysit barbie—and closed the door on me.
my daughter, now a mother herself, has inherited this lack of imagination and when her 6-year old asks her to “play” with him, she said she shudders and would almost rather do her taxes.
we are both great at reading books, taking a walk or ride, watching movies, discussing problems, etc. with our kids, but NO PLAY. PLEASE.

1. My mother is the toughest person I know, followed closely by my sister. They embody the saying that courage is feeling the fear but then going ahead and getting things done anyway.
2. A lazy makeup day is just brows and lip gloss. Just enough to look like I didn’t just roll out of bed.
3. The 10 pan palette would get more use but only if it were truly amazing. I’d rather have 4 shades I like and will wear than a palette with 10 shades and only 2 I like.
Amy Z. says
I have a good imagination, sometimes too good.
Susan Baez says
My go to lazy day makeup is mascara. It is a must, especially on a lazy day when I’m not putting on much makeup. Without it, I can expect to be asked if I’m tired or the best one is when Im asked if I don’t feel well.
Sandy says
It seems interesting that Fathers Day is tomorrow as my Grandpa was the strongest man I know. He lost his father at age 11 (or so) when his father was electrocuted in a freak accident. He then quit school to try to help his mother and two younger siblings make ends meet. At 17 he joined the Army (war time) but was sent home as he was too young. For years he helped to support them, his own wife and 6 children. He worked his way up the ranks in General Motors…with only that 6th grade education and when he retired at 62 he had a very good job in management. Such a strong, hard working man that passed away one year after his retirement. Miss and love you Granpa.

Lazy day equals Mac face and body foundation, my favorite nars matte lip or Bobbi brown, topped with a nyx gloss. Curling with Aucoins eyelash curler, two mascaras, lorac unzipped gold palette, and nars madly blush. Easy everyday look that I’ve got down so my husband doesn’t have to wait too long…
Cindy Rosenblum says
I think I got my first cell phone at 28-29. It was the kind of phone that was around before a flip phone, a Nokia with the little antenna attached. Laurissa says
Lazy day makeup always starts like this: “I’ll just put on some foundation and mascara. It’ll take 5 mins!” 40 mins later: Full Face. Makeup is a creative outlet for me (no matter my destination). Once I start, I can’t stop! So truly lazy day makeup is no makeup at all. I don’t mind going out bare faced, especially if I’m pressed for time.
Joelly says
I love your blog! I just started getting into MAC products!
Jordi says
My lazy day makeup look still involves some sort of coverage (maybe a CC cream only), eye primer, some highlighting on the brow bone and eyeliner. But then I decide to set the liner and then I figure may as well add mascara, too!

Tinted moisturizer mixed in with becca opal liquid, eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss.

I would use a smaller eyeshadow palette over a ten color palette as there are inevitably a few colors in the larger palette I would never use.

I would use a good quad more frequently than a 10 color palette as there are usually a few colors in the larger palette I would never use.
The toughest person I know would be my husband, because no matter what curve balls life throws out at us, he can always get through them. I am a lucky woman to have met him.
Second toughest would be my mother (who passed away). She was the ultimate single mother that did her very best to raise 3 of us well. Love them both!
I had a tabby cat when I was little and my mom told me the “M” on her forehead was for my name. How cute was that?

I have seen a close family friend the passed away 2xs in the pass week and I can’t figure out why she is appearing to me in my subconscious state. I like a good cream eyeshadow in a bronze or mauve color. I can swipe across my lids then curl my lashes and add mascara. An was go to! And it looks great. Blush and a lippie. I got my first cell phone 10 years ago ( i was 50 ) and I was very happy. I went in my pool with it because I had it in my bra part of my bathing suit.
I have since upgraded to a smart phone.
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads !

I have a REALLY hard time doing lazy girl make-up now. But in college I did a lot of lazy girl make-up. Gross, I know, but I would start with the fresh canvas of last night’s foundation and powder and apply a light dusting of powder. Then, I would run a mascara comb through my lashes, re-curl them, and apply a fresh coat of mascara. And finish with lip gloss. Voila! Nowadays I’m very black or white. I either go full out makeup or nothing at all. I wish I could settle for a happy medium sometimes! I take pride in my makeup skills and I either want it fierce and fabulous or nothing at all.

Happy Father’s Day! Allergies suck! 🙁

I have been sick since i was 6 yrs old with ulcerative colitis. Ive had 6 major surgeries recently to have my colon large int n partial small int. removed. Ive spent over a 175 weeks in the hospital. And yet the most depressing part with chemo was recently (after 4 years on it) losing my hair! I had long thick beautiful blonde hair, ppl literally would ask if id sell it! And in a matter of 2 weeks it was all gone! I live on disability and medicaid, so makeup isnt in my budget. A smile is my greatest form of makeup! But itd be so amazing to win $50 towards makeup and splurge on myself, and highlight the features that are now all i have without hair. Dont get me wrong i want no pity party i believe its how we take the challenges were given and how we grow from them. Were only as strong as our toughest battle but this would be amazing. ☺️

I’m super weird, so my lazy day makeup is usually my more outlandish, time-consuming makeup. On a normal, busy workday I often just put some brown shadow & liner on and go, but when all I have to do is go grocery shopping, I’ll do electric blue cat eyes with foundation and brows and lipgloss and the whole shebang. Why not, right?
Cristen Vaughan says
My current lazy day makeup routine includes applying Mac Studio fix powder as my foundation, dusting on some Mac Studio Sculpt bronzer in Delicates, curling my lashes, and then applying some Vaseline cocoa butter lip therapy. I can be done in five minutes!

I was 15 (a sophmore in high school) when I got my first cell phone. We’d just moved to a new state and I’d gotten my learners permit, so my parents decided it was time for a cell phone so they could reach me better.
Rachel says
I got my first cell phone when I was 17, as soon as I graduated from high school (it was 1999). I was starting community college 2 weeks later and it was a half hour away, so my parents gave me one so that I could call if my car broke down. Only had about 30 minutes a month. I was the first of all my friends to get one – now I know 10 year olds with phones! 😛
Ellen says
Go-to lazy makeup: powder foundation (Nars), blush, and maybelline baby lips in the cherry color
Efrain says
I got my first cellphone when I was like 8-9 years and my lazy-day makeup it’s only brow mascara, cream blush and tinted lip balm, but I don’t mind going makeup-free.

So tell me how excited you are about Jaclyn Hill and Becca collab! That highlighter is going to be so gorgeous omg!!!! I can barely wait!!
monica says
I prefer 10-pan palettes over quads any day. I just like to have choices even if I typically end up using 4 out of the 10 pans anyway. I had a pager when I was a freshman in college, it was like a pre-cursor to texting. People were just using it to send jokes, my mom would send messages asking me when I’d get home, etc. Then after about a year, GSM phones became a thing and I bought a second hand Nokia banana type phone (the one in the Matrix movie) and I loved that thing for years!
Jennifer says
My mom is an Italian New Yorker and is the toughest person I know 😉
Wendy says
My lazy day go-to makeup would be Nars Tinted Moisturizer or Korean Brand BB cream, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in brightener, brow powder(Milani or Colourpop deep taupe eyeshadow), blush on cheeks(cream or powder), and a lip balm or a sheer color lip product(e.g. Clinique Chubby Sticks). Usually can get ready in like 5 min. 😀

Hi Karen!
The toughest person I know is probably my grandma. Valedictorian of her school, went to college, eloped, supported her family, is kind, generous, smart, and funny. Definitely an amazing woman!
Kellyn says
I’d really rather use a good quad of shadows than a 10-pan. I’m more into a winged eyeliner than a complex eyeshadow look 🙂
Heloisa says
Who’s the toughest person you know?
-Probably myself. Not that I’m a real bad@ass, but I don’t know anyone tougher (resilience wise).
Do you have a good imagination?
-Oh, yeah! Reading Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings will do that for ya.
What’s your go-to lazy day makeup look?
-Vaseline (yep!) on my brows, lips and lashes. Good for chapped lips and for light blondes who want some eye definition but don’t have any time to apply mascara and brow powder/pencil properly.
How old were you when you got your first cell phone?
-16
Which would you use more: a good eyeshadow quad or an amazing 10-pan palette?
-I guess a 10-pan neutral palette would be basically all I will ever need. I have some beautiful, fun single eye shadow colors I almost never wear, so my next big makeup investment will likely be something similar to UD’s Naked palettes (but cheaper)!
Amanda says
My fave lazy day makeup look is Mac face and body foundation, a dab of powder, mascara, and then a nice creamy neutral tan lipstick–that I use for blush, lips, and a teeny-tiny dab as eyeshadow. I like the healthy look it gives when I want to do minimal effort.
Kayla W says
My go to lazy look is MAC’s Bare Study Paint Pot all over my lids, Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, and whatever lipstick I’m feeling at the moment!
Val says
When I really need to focus for a deadline, I don’t do my hair or put on any makeup for the entire day. That way, I won’t be tempted to go out. The good news is, it works. The bad news is, every time I pass a mirror, I am convinced something on my face has moved overnight.
Kirsten says
I have a cousin who has four kids under 10 and she’s a pediatric ICU nurse. I think she’s pretty tough. And firefighters. Firefighters are my heroes.
My lazy look is chapstick. It’s all I’ve been wearing lately unless I have somewhere to go.
It mostly depends on the color and price on whether I’d go for the quad or the palette. Palettes are more versatile, but with quads you don’t really need to think to put together a look, so they both have their place.
Carissa says
I think I have a really great imagination, especially when it comes to scary movies/things. I hear a noise in the middle of the night and my imagination runs rampant, convincing me that there’s a zombie apocalypse outside or a T-rex. 🙂
Lisa P. says
I was 22 when I got my first cell phone.

The toughest people I know are my Marine friends. The things they tell me they had to go through! Tough dudes.

Hey girl, nice questions.
I would have to say, my favorite lazy / everyday makeup look is:
1. layer on nars creamy concealer under my eyes, on my chin (damn acne scars1) and some on my lower cheeks
2. use my absolute fav BB cream, the tinted BB moisturizer from tarte. Ive had this for months and use it everyday and still have so much left! Its amazing
3. I use either becca skin perfector OR bronzer (nars multiple stick). I usually get too lazy to do both on daily basis.
4. again, ill use either “they’re real” mascara or kat von d tattoo liner. Too lazy to do both.
5. spray with urband decay all nighter
6. apply ciate lip stain in a coral nude
walk out the door with a smile!
thanks for this post, amazing website!
Cherie says
Lazy day – Perricone no foundation foundation and Burt Bee’s tinted lipbalm. Super lazy day – just sunscreen.
Toughest people I know – my parents. They left a third world country around the world to give me and my siblings a better life. Because of them, I don’t have to face the difficulties they did.
Marisela Bennett says
My lazy day makeup look it consist only of me doing my eyebrows filled them in and define the ends were I lack shape, and maybe mascara with a tinted lip balm and done!
Stacey says
My lazy day makeup look is still not particularly lazy. I’ve been enjoying adding a drop of coverfx foundation to a tinted moisturizer and hitting my cheeks and bronzing with the too faced bronzer/blush thing in carrie and big (the peachy one) and a bit of urban decay naked concealer, for my eyes, some winged liner on top, a bright pop of color on the bottom, and some mascara. A glossy pink gloss or balm for the lips.
Johnna Quick Owens says
I think I was 35 or 36 when I got my first cell phone. I kept saying that they were silly, I would never use one, didn’t want to be available at all times, they were just so annoying and rude to use in public. Then my wife came home with one for just her, and within a week it was mine, I couldn’t go anywhere without it, it was just so handy! She is still the one that always upgrades and has the newest shiniest toys, while I have one that I have had for 3, almost 4 years, and it needs replaced, but as long as I have one I am happy. Although I keep the ringer turned off more times than not, I just don’t like always being available, but I do like being able to see who called so I can call back later at my convenience. 🙂

I don’t think I own any quads so I have always used 6-12 pans eyeshadow palettes and singles from Mac (a long long time ago when I just started using make up)

I’d definitely be using the 10 pan palette over the quad!!! More versatile, more makeup looks!
Renata says
10pan for the win! 🙂 sometimes I don’t understand why bother with mono eyeshadows, thou there are those shades that are just perfect, and you want it so bad but if it’s in a big palette… well, some additional eyeshadow never hurts, will it? 😀

oh yeaahh sephora baby come to me! About that person: my BOYFRIEND! How hard is it to remember fathersday (In the Netherlands)?? Three things: our anniversery was yesterday, fathersday was yesterday, and his nieces birthday was yesterday. How is it possible to forget all three of them? So though, my gooooooood my cat was laughing at me all day long -.-
So: it’s a good thing I ain’t forgetting a thing with my catty-agenda!

My first cell phone was the brick – so how old does that make me – hummmmmmmm
Majick says
Since I need this to purchase the latest Naked Smokey, I’m going with 10 pan palette. Also, I need this to purchase because I’m nearing retirement – so my first cell phone was somewhere in my 30’s. LOL
p.s. I’m pretty tough, been on my own since 17, found my soulmate at 28 and married him at 30. Still together and still in love (I chose right).
Oh NO – here comes my boss – chat later ladies! LOL
Lisa Foster says
The toughest person I know is my friend Kathi. She has been through a lot in life and always keeps going with a positive attitude.
April says
I’m a palette junkie, so I would go for the ten pan! My first prestige brand and palette was TooFaced Naked. I loved it, and I’m a little sad they don’t sell it anymore.
Also, I’m a huge Disney fan. My husband and I go to Disney World about twice a year, but we are planning a trip to California for the fall where we will take a few days to visit DisneyLand and visit some friends who live in L.A. I’ve never been to the West coast, and I’m pretty excited to see something new! Does anyone have advice about places to see, where to eat, where to shop?
Molly says
My mom is definitely the toughest person I know. My go-to lazy day makeup look is a BB cream, a tiny bit of eyeliner on the outside corners, mascara, and Pixi lip balm. I use a 10-pan palette more, but I still love a good quad, particulary for above lazy day.
Hope your weekend was fab! So happy I stumbled upon your blog a few weeks ago!
Julie Florence says
Go to lazy makeup: Mascara, Benefit Hello Flawless powder, and eyeliner. 🙂

I blame a trip to Korea as the start to my obsessive beauty research. I threw myself into the deep end, and now, just can’t get enough! I love a good beauty blog, and http://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com is a favorite. Thank you for all the great content!!!!! Best!

Hi Karen,
No plans for Father’s Day since we live in different cities (and countries). but I did give him a call bright and early 🙂
hope you enjoyed lunch with your dad.
•Who’s the toughest person you know? – my momma. she is one tough cookie!
•Do you have a good imagination? nope. wish I did though.
•What’s your go-to lazy day makeup look? brows, eyeliner and blush.
•How old were you when you got your first cell phone? hmm maybe 14
•Which would you use more: a good eyeshadow quad or an amazing 10-pan palette? I tend to do better with quads. maybe the limited amount of options forces me to use my imagination, while a 10 pan palette is like creativity overload for me.
weird I know!
Happy Monday 😀

I’ll have to check that movie out, sounds so cute! I finally got all my domain name and crap resolved after switching from ProPhoto/Wordpress back to Squarespace, so that was a good part of my week last week. I was happy to relax this weekend and finally catch up on Game of Thrones. 🙂

Karen, I’ve never commented before but I read your blog EVERY DAY. Love it. And I don’t need anymore make up in my life. I think my husband would divorce me. lol So, no more quads, pallettes, etc! And I don’t do lazy makeup. It starts out lazy and then I just keep adding and blending and adding and blending, then I need bronzer, blush, lip liner, etc. So I’ve given up on that dream of ever having “an easy makeup day.” haha
Pamela Haddad says
I can’t wait to see that movie, too! Looks so adorable. The toughest person I ever met was my mom, Janet. She had polio when she was 5, and tons of surgeries cuz they didn’t know what it was. But she grew up, married and had 3 kids. And we never really noticed that she always was sitting down or that by the time we were 8, we were taller than her. She could do anything, drive, swim like a seal, do volunteer work, whatever she wanted, she did. She was an amazing woman and I’m happier to have known her and even more thrilled to have been her daughter! 🙂

The toughest person I know is my mom, hands down. She raised 4 kids on her own, through health problems and all the rest of the bumbs that come with single parenthood times 4. She still has 2 kids at home and a granddaughter, and she still keeps pushing. She’s a truly amazing person.

I got my first Cell phone when I was 17. I was barely entering my senior year in high school when I got my first phone. I was bummed all those years being the only person without a phone but it paid off. I got a very nice smartphone for all those years of waiting and being phoneless 🙂

Thanks for the giveaway Karen! Since I had some flooding in my apartment & had to pack up all my makeup (nothing major was damaged, thankfully!) I’ve been doing my lazy makeup erryday since I can’t work up the energy to unpack. Brows, BB cream, a little concealer, benetint, powder, mascara. Tinted lip balm finishes the look, easy peasy. 🙂
Maria R says
My lazy day makeup is always Mac Tan Pigment, mascara, and a nude lip. It’s so easy
Wendy C. says
I find myself reaching for my eyeshadow quads over larger eyeshadow palettes! When I’m in a rush, having too many options slows me down.

My go to makeup look on a lazy day is MAC patina on my eyes, mascara (They’re Real), brows filled in, & an awesome MAC lip color to distract from the eyes lol.

Michelle says
I think I have a pretty good imagination. I wish my real life was as amazing as the things I’ve created in my head!!
Brittany says
I think I’d prefer to have an eyeshadow palette just to have more variety. I’d love for urban decay to make versions of the naked palettes to fit specific eye colors!
Elena says
My lazy go to makeup look is more just to streamline my routine on days off/lazy days. I will moisturize, skip primer and just use powder or a bb cream, apply a little bronzer or blush, then use Urban Decay’s eye-shadow in sin. It’s an easy apply with your fingers kinda shadow that stands on its own. Then I will finish with mascara and call it good.
Who am I kidding this is a go to look for me lazy day or not. Lol.
Dionne Dean says
Gloss, eyebrows, lashes and blush…that’s all I need to get started when in a rush.

I can’t leave my house without eyebrows at least!
