    “Easy Breezy beautiful cover girl!”

If you could replace any piece of furniture in your house, what would it be?
Dining chairs – the cats have had too much fun with the fabric haha

    Have you ever arm-wrestled? Yes….not since childhood…pretty sure I always lost…

What was your last makeup or skin care โ€œEureka!โ€ moment?
I recently realized the difference a beauty blender can make to foundation application.

Have you ever seen anyone shoplift before?
Yes, I used to work in a clothing store so I’ve seen all the creative and not so creative ways people attempt to steal!

Have you ever ordered makeup or skin care from a company overseas?
Yep, I’ve ordered from Ireland and South Africa before.

  3. Meghan P says:

I tried ordering from Sleek Makeup in the UK, but the order got lost in transit. It was difficult getting my money back from them. I had to go to my credit card company and everything. Plus they had the worst customer service, never replying to emails, sending the same boxed answer every time, it was bad. But I’ve ordered lots successfully otherwise.

  4. Agata says:

Have a great weekend, Karen! Nothing too exciting planned here.

  6. Vanessa says:

I recently purchased my very first highlighter, “Champagne Pop” by Becca X Jaclyn Hill, and Oh My God! Now I finally understand the fuss with highlighters! I never cared for highlight, I thought it made your skin look unnecessarily shiny but I was wrong. New obsession!

My skin care Eureka moment was learning that less is more when it comes to using new products. After years of constantly trying new products to improve my skin, I found its better for me to not change routines too often. I like to give my skin time, may be a month or so, to adjust to the new product I’m using.

  19. Michelle says:

I’d replace my couch for one that’s a little more fluffy

and my shadows and blush comes from and Indi company from USA Shiro cosmetics

  21. Pamela says:

Recently read about a flower water similar to rosewater that Indian women use as a tonic: kewra water. I was obsessed looking for it online, eBay and so on. Surprised to find it in the international section of the supermarket! Finally! Tried it out and was disappointed to find the natural scent smelled like plastic. 36. Susannah says:

My last skin care eureka! moment was with a glorious face exfoliating cream from Oil of Olay. I have very sensitive skin, but this product kept my face clean, smooth, and very healthy….. Then they discontinued it like they tend to do with their exfoliating products. I bought every one I could find, but eventually ran out. Haven’t found anything to replace it. I’m still bitter.

  37. stephanie says:

My last “Eurika” moment was using vaseline as a skin savior! It’s lip balm, eyebrow tamer, and salve, all in one!

  38. Of course I have ordered makeup overseas, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on so many great products. I used to order MAC from the States for quite some time, because things were released there much earlier and some things never made their way to Europe at all.

I can’t think of any makeup jingles off the top of my head, but after the week I’ve had I’m surprised I still remember my own name! If I could replace one piece of furniture in my house it would be my leather sectional. We got it from a family member and it’s way too large for our small apartment, plus it’s black leather and we live in the valley where summers are 100+ degrees! I long for a nice, comfortable, breathable couch that moves through seasons effortlessly. ๐Ÿ˜Š

  82. I’ve seen someone shoplift twice at the drug store. They were stealing cold medicine. The first time, it was a group of older teens and they weren’t even trying to be sneaky about it. Have you ever arm-wrestled?

A: Yes , but I’ve got small hands and short arms so I usually lose.

What was your last makeup or skin care โ€œEureka!โ€ moment?

A: When I found these new lashes and now I wont wear any others because they look amazing on me.

Have you ever seen anyone shoplift before?

A: Yes I have and they were caught.

Have you ever ordered makeup or skin care from a company overseas?

A: When I first started ordering those eyeshadow palettes with all of the colors I would get them from Ebay and they’d usually be from overseas.

    Happy weekend Karen & company!
    I can fell it!
The 1st logo/slogan/motto that came to mind was UD’s “Beauty with an Edge”, maybe their advertising (emails) has subliminals in them…or maybe I have just read one too many a UD package…
2nd would be Maybelline’s “Maybe she’s born with it, etc.”, but that’s from television so it doesn’t really count as much as the non-televised beauty brandsโ€”if I were handing out points or cookies to myself lol
& wow, I really think that’s all my brain can muster up… MAC doesn’t really have one other than spelling out their abbreviation, rt? “Back 2 MAC” is when you bring empties in…or could it be a new motto too?? Idk! “Makeup for professionals” sounds so cocky lol, more along the lines of MUFE (I feel like that is MUFE’s?).. Ok, you didn’t say to guess at them lol! & I’m pretty sure that’s all I have at this moment… I wonder how I did. I can’t wait to read through the other comments now lol!
Ty for doing this for us! & have a good mall trip!

So yes, I ordered a too faced pallet from eBay which they SWORE was real. Of course it wasn’t. Then the guy tried to bargain w me. He told me if I gave him a good report, I would get my money back. Yeah right! So I reported them to eBay. Emailed to check up on it. No email back. No money back. Never again! Never used the palette. I don’t want to risk it. They don’t have the same standards in other countries and I didn’t want to risk putting someone on my face (much less my eyes!) and it having lead or something else in it. I will only buy from the trusted retailers! How about you?

  132. Rachel says:

I have crazy oily skin and have had such a hard time finding a primer that controlled oil, kept my makeup in place, and making it go on more smoothly. Silicone primers really help with the latters, but not at all with the former. I’ve been using one by Black Radiance for a few years, and it does really help with the oil, but it it’s more of a lotiony texture, so my makeup doesn’t really go on any better and when the oil does break through, my makeup just disintegrates. A couple months ago, I got a small sample of a MAC primer that had a really silicone feel to it, so I decided to slap it over the Black Radiance one and see what happened. EUREKA!!! My makeup goes on smooth, stays all day, and even when the oil starts peeking through on my nose and forehead, it doesn’t instantly dissolve! Now I’m using every silicone-based primer sample I have to see which works best!

I order from Korean skincare and cosmetic companies all the time! I have loved face creams with snail secretions for quite a while. I swear they make my skin glow! Recently I’ve been suffering from itchy eczema on the backs of my hands. I ordered a big tub of pure snail gel and it has been a miracle! It soothes the itch and is healing the rash too!

  139. Lisa Foster says:

My makeup “aha” moment was finding out from a salesperson at a cosmetics counter that I was using a foundation too light for my skin tone. I’m pretty pale, but the color I was using was washing me out. A slightly darker shade was much better. Not too exciting, but it is good to get a second opinion every now and then!

I’ve ordered makeup from Korea before and didn’t have any issues. It took about 10 days to arrive.

  146. Denise S says:

I ordered a fake beauty blender sponge from an overseas Amazon seller. It took a few weeks to arrive, but I expected that. The quality is pretty good. I’ve had it for about 4 months now and it’s still holding up really well. No tears or anything.

It was for a few years my signature scent. Love ones and even strangers would comment on how wonderful I smelled. Please bring it back! There is no dupe for the warm woodsy fragrance. I would love to spend my MAC gift card on a fabulous MAC fragrance. Or lippy, or shadow, or blush or, brush.

  158. Lori P says:

Yesterday, my 76 year old mother and myself and I went to Sephora because she wanted to find a way to cover up her age spots. The SAs just oohed and aahed over her and made her day and she found a new foundation and everything. We also got her a new blush in Tarte’s Exposed. She was a little confused of how everything goes on and in what order (primer, foundation…etc), so tomorrow I’m going over the parent’s house and we will play with her makeup.

I had a kitty emergency this morning… one of the babies that I take care of got stuck in a tree! She finally jumped on the house and the neighbors got a ladder. She finally came to me… She was so scared. Poor thing!!! She’s safe and sound now.

  182. Janet Shepherd says:

Since I live in Australia, most makeup brands I’m interested in are from overseas… and cost a great deal more here sadly.

I’d like to replace my sofa – we have 2 old, mismatched (and not in the shabby chic way!) They’re comfy and not hideously broken or anything, but they are a bit the worse for wear. I’d love to have sofas that match my house’s decor and each other. My lounge room rug def needs replacing too. But it was just a cheapie from Ikea.

  183. The only makeup jingle that comes to mind is of course the Maybelline jingle “Maybe she’s born with it, or maybe it’s Maybelline!” Lol I remember singing that over and over whenI was like 9 years old! Lol

And if I could replace any of my furniture right now, it would be my bed! I would exchange my queen for a nice Tempurpedic(sp?) California King since this Queen is just not big enough for me, my wonderful hubby, our sneaky 4 yr old that always sneaks into bed with us at like 4am, and then our 3 doggies that think they are all human and not dogs bc we truly spoil the heck out of them. But as they are all rescues, I think they deserve to spend the rest of their days lying on couches, getting freebies, and snuggling us in bed! But a bigger bed is definitely needed! Lol

  184. Jen says:

I need to replace my sofa. My son jumped on it and the seat part ended up on the floor. My husband “fixed” it but it needs to be replaced ๐Ÿ™

  185. Ms. Elise says:

My last makeup revelation was when I bought the IT cosmetics LBD foundation brush. It’s seriously the best makeup brush I’ve ever used. I’m going to buy another one so I can switch them off when I wash one/travel with one.

  186. Joyce says:

  189. Mira says:

My roommate’s hookup once shoplifted a magnet while I was with them. I felt weird about it, but it was too cheap for me to feel okay making a big deal about.

  190. Sandy says:

Then of course I searched around your website looking at the swatches to figure out which one to order, since I don’t remember my fav! I’m getting Sublime Nature. ๐Ÿ™‚

My “aha” moment was when I tried Becca’s Shimmering Skin Perfector. This highlighter added just the right amount of shimmer to my cheeks without looking overdone or glittery. It is a part of my makeup holy grail.

If you could replace any piece of furniture in your house, what would it be? The sofa. The springs are sprung and the cats have clawed.

What was your last makeup or skin care โ€œEureka!โ€ moment? Using something orange/peach to cover my under-eye circles.

Have you ever ordered makeup or skin care from a company overseas? Not directly, but through amazon sellers.

  217. Aurelie Red says:

Yes I have ordered makeup and skin care from a company overseas ; I live in France, and many brands are not sold here, so I order from the States or from the UK ^^ (on Sephora, iHerb, FeelUnique….)

  218. Monica says:

My last makeup eureka moment was when I watched a youtube video (i can’t recall who it was!) that explained that if your skin has a yellow undertone, then cooler pink blushes would look better on you (and vice versa). I always thought orange and peach blushes would work on my warm skin and I keep on buying different shades looking for the perfect one but it never works! I always find myself picking up this one cool blue-ish pink blush I’ve had for years. Feels so counter-intuitive, but I’m now convinced it’s true.

Funny how mention the shoplifting. I’m a sales associate at a local department store, and just recently a young girl came in to do exactly that. Get this though, her MOM was her accomplice. She was biting off the tags of a juicy couture bag in the jean rack thinking she wasn’t being seen on camera. Oh boy did she have a surprise when she came out of the store with $500 worth of merchandise stuffed in the bag only to find that while she would try to make her “getaway” in the car with her mom, that four cop cars were waiting around the corner to pull up and have them arrested. 273. A_N says:

I’ve ordered plenty of makeup brushes from overseas โ€” from Japan. I use a forwarding company or personal shopper since many manufacturers don’t ship internationally. But jumping through the extra hoops just makes each hand-crafted brush that much more special.

  300. I snuck over to Target while Colin was napping yesterday and used a gift card I’ve been holding on to for a while with the 10% off all makeup Cartwheel offer, picked up a good selection of stuff I know nothing about from Pixi and Sonia Kashuk. I’ve had really good luck with face products especially from SK! Hopefully when the new baby arrives, I’ll have a few months of little too no makeup buying to compensate for all these tempting deals and releases around the holidays, haha. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  308. Robin says:

Top 3 things currently on my mind: 1) Which size of MAC Turquatic should I purchase? 2) I can’t believe there’s only 74 days until Christmas!!! 3) Why can’t I win the lottery so I don’t have to go to work tomorrow????

  309. Kelsey says:

If I could replace any piece of furniture in my home it would be my sons bed. Not as exotic as getting a new zebra striped couch or a fancy recliner, but my baby boy has long outgrown his toddler bed and is in desperate need of a twin size bed. If I could get him a new bed, I would, but as a result of being chronically ill- my income is gastly low. I’m keeping my eye out for a furniture contest though, and by golly, I’m gonna win it! ๐Ÿ™‚ On a quasi related subject, as a result of stress and sleep difficulty, I frequently have dark bags under my eyes. Well, one day my son came into the bathroom while I was putting on some makeup and I was distracted for about a minute. This led to my most recent makeup revelation. I had liquid foundation on my finger which sat there for that minute and when I put it on, it had oxidized a bit and acted more like a concealer than a foundation and covered up my dark circles beautifully!!

  310. Elizabeth Plancarte says:

If I could replace any furniture piece in my house it would be my Mom’s and Dad’s old dining table. one time, on my way to school, I was putting on makeup in the truck. my mom decided it would be hilarious to slam on the brakes and scream in the middle of a back road…causing me to get my lipstick all over my face, and no time to clean it and fix it until I make it to the bathroom in school and at least twenty people see me. not funny at the time, but looking back its pretty hilarious.

  316. Amy R says:

If I could replace any piece of furniture in my house, it would be the mattress on my bed. I would keep the bed itself, and put it in storage, since it belonged to my great-grandmother. However, a twin is so small, and I need a new mattress anyway, so I want a queen size.

  317. Rae Lynn Nelson says:

Lol, thanks for this opportunity! Good luck, everyone!

  322. Maria says:

Yes, my proudest armwrestling moment was when I was 12 years old. I armwrestled a classmate and won. The best part was that while I’m right-handed he is a leftie, and I beat him with my left arm (and I’m a girl) ๐Ÿ™‚ Fun fact, he went on to play the Norwegian national handball team later on in life ๐Ÿ˜‰

  327. Leeann says:

    Who doesn’t love a treat?

  328. Anne-Marie says:

I’ve ordered most of my make up from online stores overseas. Oftentimes the make up I want either isn’t available or is ridiculously more expensive in my country.

Definitely used my weekend to relax and recharge a little. I had been so stressed about things at work and school but I had some me-time that was much needed ๐Ÿ˜€ even made a trip to my favorite store – Hint – Starts with an S- ends with an A and is known for beautiful black and white logo ๐Ÿ˜€

โ€ขWithout looking them up online, can you remember any makeup company jingles or slogans? hmm Maybe it’s Maybelline?
โ€ขIf you could replace any piece of furniture in your house, what would it be? Does my whole bathroom count? I really want to renovate my bathroom, it is sooo out dated!
    โ€ขHave you ever arm-wrestled? hmm I don’t think I have
โ€ขWhat was your last makeup or skin care โ€œEureka!โ€ moment? hmm recently, I figured out that layering my eyeliner with pencil and liquid makes it easier to get a perfect wing..I start with a rough pencil liner across my lashline, then come back on top with a liquid liner to make a wing and even out the lines and voila! 2 min eyeliner ๐Ÿ˜€
โ€ขHave you ever seen anyone shoplift before? no, not sure how I would react to that. interesting question tho…
โ€ขHave you ever ordered makeup or skin care from a company overseas? I have not, I’m always too scared to get scammed, or have my cc info compromised, or have my whole order get lost in the mail and lose my money….I am dying to try Bourjois (sp?) Velvet lippies tho, I may have to give in and buy them on amazon but they are so pricey! I did have an international swap in the past and love it ๐Ÿ˜€ all the way from Ireland ๐Ÿ˜€

Okay, this is not even makeup anymore ๐Ÿ˜‚

  345. Maddie says:

I just discovered a new Sephora Brand eyeliner and it’s the creamiest eyeliner I have ever used. I have been a MAC eyeliner addict since 7th grade, but this just may have converted me (and for a much smaller price tag).

  346. Gaya says:

My brother likes to sing “Maybe it’s maybelline!” right after anyone says the word “maybe” so that’s always going to be one I remember. This is the same brother I’ve been arm wrestling with since we were kids, and even though we’re adults now, we still fight like children ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Karen! Hope you’re doing well.

I recently purchased the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation (I’m in the UK) and it is le-gend-ary. Does that count as a eureka moment?

I love to arm wrestle and it’s always amusing seeing people’s shocked expressions when they realise how deceivingly strong I am as I’m a really petite girl.

  368. Melissa says:

Ohh, you are showing the Enchanted Eve products! I try not to be lemming but I MUST HAVE those purple lipstick bullets! I want to buy oodles of them even if the colors don’t suit me so I can swap out my other favorite lipsticks into them. I don’t know why I love plain color bullets as much as I do. I loved the Archie’s and Alluring Aquatics designs, but other than those my favorite lipstick bullets are the plain ones, like the Sci-Fi collection (orange) and the Moonbathe collection (white). I’ve never been a girly-girl but I’m a complete sucker for a deep jewel-toned purple! I can’t wait for these to come out ๐Ÿ™‚

  369. Nora T says:

I routinely order cosmetics from a couple of Korean companies…the products are outstanding and usually less expensive than comparable products here. The only drawback is the shipping time, but these companies are also pretty generous with throwing samples in, so it’;s worth it.

  370. Karla says:

all the makeup goodies coming out for the holiday, I have to pick and choose wisely! im only spending on the items I know I will get very good use out of!

  371. Melissa says:

Whoops, that would be “Magic of the Night” lipsticks up there. The only thing I don’t care for with MAC’s massive holiday collections is keeping the the names of the different parts straight, LOL.

Also…the only makeup jingle I ever remember is “maybe it’s Maybelline.” I am dying to get a mid century modern dining set. And I once ordered from Sleek Cosmetics (UK) and it was a great transaction!

  372. Laura P. says:

I remember the “Maybe it’s Maybelline” jingle but I also remember “Easy, Breezy, Beautiful Covergirl. I think the first piece of furniture I would replace in my house is our dining table because it was a hand me down and I would love something that reflected my personal taste.

  373. Alyssa Lee says:

    Easy Breezy Covergirl

  374. Estrella says:

I actually have seen someone shoplifting at Target and it was crazy because she had a bunch of stuff in a shopping cart and tried walking out with it, yes girl!! she tried walking out with the shopping cart filled with stuff and not paying one single item because she had no shopping bags in the cart. It was actually a scary moment, because I was walking out and I all of a sudden I hear a big thump, and someone yell the words “don’t even try it”, I turn around and the loss prevention men are practically tackling the woman down. It was so crazy!

  375. Camille says:

Karen! Hello. hope your weekend treated you well! i had work on saturday, and it was THE BEST shift, EVERRRRRRR! i was “stuck” in the back, just organizing and processing clothes and accessories, from the go-backs. it was great because things were getting organized, and i didn’t have to deal with the chaos of people being people. LoL.

    Hi Karen,

    Happy Thanksgiving!!

  381. Jordi says:

Does carpeting/flooring count? I’d like to replace ALL of it in our house.

  382. Katie Culpepper says:

I have been buying the palest lightest makeup I could find for years, always describing myself as “butt white” I finally went to a makeup store and was told that I was more of a medium or beige! I look my less “casper-esque” now!

  383. Fran says:

I haven’t ordered makeup or skincare from overseas, but I have ordered hair accessories (hand-carved hair sticks and hair fork) from Hong Kong via Etsy…

My last beauty “eureka!” moment was when I figured out how to line my lips! For the past 2 years, I’ve ordered generic Latisse (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) from an Indian pharmaceutical company. No problems at all, and my lashes are super long, although it hasn’t thickened them up as much as I’d like, so I’m glad I don’t spend $150/month on it!

I am from Brazil and I get sooo crazy about makeup that Yes, I have already ordered makeup, skincare products also hair products from company overseas cause there are so many nice products that I cannot resist!!

  391. Jennifer Monson says:

My Beauty “Eureka!” moment recently: the green Smashbox primer really does tone down the red in my skin. And I’m starting to play a little with contouring- this always made me nervous and seemed like it’d look too heavy.

  392. Becky Z. says:

I only started using makeup 1 year ago and I’m obsessed! I love collecting pink lipsticks <3

  393. Ilka says:

    Is there a winner Karen?

  395. Chrissy Disibio says:

maybe she’s born with it maybe it’s maybelline!
