Petite Fashionista
I tower at exactly 5’2″ tall, and when you’re my height, clothing presents certain … challenges. Christa Jean at Petite Fashionista understands the plight of the vertically challenged. Her site gives shorter women everywhere the tools they need to dress in style.

You can’t help but catch Vanessa’s exuberance for makeup when you pay a visit to her site. She does some really colorful looks, but beyond her skill with makeup she’s the cool cousin you wish you had, the really nice one you could go shopping with any time.
The Daily Monster
Sometimes, inspiration comes in the form of an ink blot. Stefan Bucher creates art by dropping ink on a page and blowing it out with a straw until he sees the shape of a monster. Then, he fleshes out the creature with a pen. I know, it’s weird, but trust me; it’s also beautiful and cool. He records the entire process, too, and posts the videos on his blog.
About.com: Beauty
Julyne Derrick has run the About.com Beauty Guide since 2005. The site maintains a huge library of how-to articles and general information about makeup and beauty. The easy-to-follow layout makes it a perfect resource for women testing the makeup waters.
The Original Pink Box
Ladies, dreams really do come true. Cala Industries deserves a round of applause for introducing these pink, steel storage boxes. They’re a little Sears Craftsman, but that’s what I like about ’em. It says, “I’m serious about my makeup, b*tches, and I’m ready to go to work.”
Hey, friends. How was your night? I stayed in and re-watched half of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones on the telly. I want a t-shirt that says “Yoda is my homeboy.”
Later today, I have a mall date with Chanel to check out the just-released fall collection. I can’t wait! Hello, Mr. Gold Glossimer, do you need a good home? 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Ooh, hot mall date! Have fun!
I like the Daily Monster idea, I’ll have to check that out! Have I recommended Dr. McNinja (drmcninja.com) to you yet? He’s a doctor… who’s also a ninja! How can you go wrong? 🙂

I’ve never heard of Petite Fashionista before! I have a feeling I’ll be here a lot. I’m 5’1″ and my name rhymes with Midget…. I kicked a lot of little boy shins in Elementary school. 🙂
I enjoy looking around the sites you post! Ever go to wordle.net ? It’s fun and very addicting when you play around with it!

Hi Glosslizard,
SERIOUSLY!??! That’s the weirdest and coolest thing I’ve heard in a long time. Is he really a ninja, or does he just look like one? (LOL, remember those “Barbrizon Models” commercials from the 80s?)
Oh! And for some reason I KNEW you’d love the Daily Monster site. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Dao,
That’s so great to hear! Hopefully someday when you’re out here in SF we’ll be able to have coffee.
Karen says
Hi Bridget,
Wow! I’m actually taller than someone! Do you rely on heels as much as I do?
I haven’t heard of that one so I will check it out. Sounds like fun. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Jeannie,
You’re welcome! I hope you enjoy em.
Glosslizard says
Oh no, he’s really a ninja! You gotta check it out! El Hub would probably like it too, mine does! 🙂

For some reason, I never pictured you short, Karen! Maybe what you lack in height, you make up for in bubbly blogging personality, and that’s what threw me off 🙂

Ha ha, Glosslizard! I really thought I was gonna end up at some weird ninja guy’s blog or something. Have you ever looked at the stuff in the store? I so want this shirt.
I also want the baby dracula shirt, but only because my boss told me a hilarious story yesterday about her toddler grandson getting kicked out of day care for biting other children, which has made me weirdly fascinated with the thought of baby vampires.
Karen says
Aww, thanks Lucky! You just made my day. I gotta say in my mind I’m really 5’5, LOL… I get a lot of help from my heels.
Karen says
Hi Marisol,
Thanks girlie! 🙂

Bleh!
I just got Hubby the Chainsaw Nunchaku (Lumberjack Assassin!) tee and the Knife Eye Attack tee for his birthday, and the “ninjas can’t catch you if you’re on fire” ladies’ tee for me! Too much good stuff! 😀
