Rise and shine, morning glory! It’s going to be a beautiful day. I can feel it in my bones…
I hope you did something fun last night. After finishing the NARS Promiscuous Lip Pencil post, I just made a quick fish dinner (pretty much just steamed tilapia filets and served on white rice with a little soy sauce, green onions and ginger), and then proceeded to watch Parenthood on Netflix from about 8 p.m. to 11.
It was glorious!
I love that show…
But enough about that. We’ve got a giveaway to start, so let’s get to it. Full deets in the Rafflecopter widget below, and the prize is a $50 Sephora gift card.

I love hot rollers. It may sound like old school but it’s so fast and easy to use. I put them on, do my makeup, take the rollers off.
Olivia K says
I really need to ban myself from buying makeup for a while, there’s always so many things, I have to say I place an online order every single week!
Pam says
I haven’t used hot rollers but I love my sponge rollers. I can put them in before bed, take them out when I wake up, and voila! (I’m lazy! lol)
Mariam C says

Daanielle says
I am continuously amazed at the adorable things you can get Tabs to wear/pose in! My cat is generous with the snuggles, but if I tried to put a costume on him, he’d bite my arm off. Rando insists of wrestling/chewing on his brush before I can groom him. 🙂
sasha says
I love smokey eyes, I even do darkish smokey eyes during the daytime for work. The hardest part for me is making the outer edge angle the same, I have this same issue when doing cat eye liner! Lol

I have tried both jumbo hot rollers (the clip didn’t hold the hair) and jumbo curling tongs (curl didn’t take, barrel may have been too big) to get wonderful waves and curls in my stick straight fine scandinavian hair. I then proceeded to buy jumbo perm rollers online from half across the globe and attempted to perm my hair ( the rollers were to large for the curl to take). Sigh !! Would love some 30s sexy oomph waves.. 😉 .. love the blog.. From Karen, another homeless kitty-savior in Scandinavia

camille says
Hello, Karen & Tabs! So, Sephora had a little promo thingee, and I finally used the 10% off that I scored! I had the Hourglass ambient powder trio in my basket, but I was reading the reviews, and I didn’t want to end up going to the store to return it. 🙁 I’m pretty happy with my Dim powder, for now. The total would have been (way) more ridiculous if I had that in the order.
I ended up buying Bobbi Brown foundation stick (finally!), a Hello Kitty eye brush set, and the Hello Kitty brush set, with case, for my niece. (early Christmas shopping!)
Hope ya’ll are having a lovely weekend so far! just chillin over here. laundry, chores, etc….
Rikki Poynter says
I would like more German brands here.
Erin says
Smokey eyes are hard for me because I am very pale, so super dark smokey eyes are overwhelming. My favorite musical is Wonderful Town. I do occasionally put myself on makeup/nail polish bans, but it is usually while waiting for a major sale such as the 20% off ones.

I see something I want and I’m like ‘oh I will buy that for myself for Christmas” lol. So now that I have gotten so much stuff I have to stop. So the Sephora gift card would be awesome because there is still a lot that I want! I also justify buying a lot of stuff because I can give it away on my blog/facebook.
Nika says
I really REALLY wish they sold Urban Decay here!
Cassie says

I have a terrible time trying to do a smokey eye. my eye’s aren’t wide so it’s hard to do a gradient effect. and my lids are deep set, so the shadows just end up smudging. If i add shadow pass my crease it over powers my eye because it seems like i have shadow going up to my brows! I just keep it simple by wearing eye liner instead.
kayla presutti says
The best Halloween costume I’ve seen this year at a Halloween dog parade is they dressed the dog up in a big fluffy gray sweater and made it look like a wrecking ball. and then they put a naked Barbie around the chained leash so it was like miley cyrus in wrecking ball. it was really funny and the dog was the absolute cutest!!!
Roxanne says
I once dressed up as Dr. Tinycat from I Can Has Cheezeburger. Not many people understood who I was and assumed I was “Dr. Cat” or a cat doctor. Oh well. It was fun!

The hardest part of the smokey eye for me is doing those outer corners with the dark color. The shadow always spreads too far and then I have to use a makeup remover towelette to touch it up. I can never get it just right.

Oh, how I miss the local Sephora here in the Netherlands. We can still order through the French webshop or some British sites, but it’s not the same. I miss the swatching and the shopping 🙁
Jennifer M-K says
I have put myself on nail polish/makeup bans in the past but they don’t seem to last long if I come across something I love and it happens to be either limited edition or on sale…I’m a sucker for a good sale. I’ve had my eye on something at Sephora for a while and go figure…its just about $50 so if I’m lucky enough to win I’d most likely spend it on Urban Decay’s Ocho Loco 2 then put myself on a makeup ban for a while. between the UD holiday launch/20% off sale and MAC Riri collection launching in the last month, I think I bought more than I really needed. I did get some nice Christmas presents for the ladies in the family, though, so I guess it wasn’t so bad in that respect 🙂
Maria Therese says
I really really wished we had Sephora in Norway!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isabelle says
Complete makeup bans don’t work for me.. So I gave myself a limited amount of ‘makeup money’ to spend each month. It’s still hard; but more manageable!
Camille L says

I used to love hot rollers in my hair, but ever since I moved to a more humid climate it seems like it falls to quickly and is a waste of time! 🙁
Rachel P says
-Smokey eyes for me have always been doable, but a challenge. The hard parts are: 1) getting that gradient that looks so good from the highlight of the browbone down to the smudged eyeliner, and 2) my crease. I feel like whenever I try to sweep a nice dark color into my crease (using a windshield wiper motion), it ends up patchy/unevenly deposited, which makes me wonder if I’m using too much shadow or not enough. Or maybe just not a good brush! Guess I need some more practice. I tend to usually just go for the crispness and simplicity of a winged-out cat eye 🙂
-My favorite musical (although this is a TOUGH choice!! and I did not count Disney musicals because that would have made it even harder!) is The Sound of Music. You laugh, you cry, you sing, you dance, you wear clothes made out of curtains, it’s awesome.
-I frequently have to ban myself from nail polish and makeup. It’s easy for me to “justify” buying makeup when I’ve got coupons or remind myself I don’t already have THAT color, or I’ve run out of mascara already, etc etc 🙂
-I wish they carried Sleek in America! I mean, you can get it via Amazon and order some things from their site, but it’s not in stores or anything.
Rae says
I’m on a nail polish ban right now. It sucks!

My favorite musical is A Chorus Line– I saw the revival 9 times when it came back in 2006! And my favorite Halloween costume ever was from my senior year of high school; friends and I dressed as contestants from the Nickelodian game shows Legends of the Hidden Temple.

A few days ago I came across a picture reel of creative halloween costumes. I really liked some of them. My fave was definitely the youtube video one, a board with a space cut out for the “video” for the “wearer of the costume” with a funny video title and some crazy comments written under it :).
Chic Lapin says
I love purrrrple 😀
Michelle Teixeira says
There are definitely a few brands that I wish were easier to get a hold of in the US. Mostly, really cutesy asian brands that I just adore the packaging. It isn’t unobtainable here, but the price mark up, shipping, and shady sellers keep me away.

The best costume I’ve seen was actually a DIY tarantula costume for dogs, it was made so well that when the dog ran it legitimately freaked me out because the legs moved so realistically LOL! Smokey eye’s are my go to look for everyday, they’re the easiest to do & look good regardless of what I wear. I constantly put myself on makeup bans, yet consistently break them, lol oh well 😀
Lynda says

I still remember seeing a kid dressed up as a “serial killer” when I was younger. His costume was a box of cereal taped to his chest with duct tape, witha butcher knife stabbed through the front. I always thought hat was clever, if a little weird, lol.

Fave musical… I loved the Phantom of the Opera, but Miss Saigon was a great show, especially when they brought out that enormous statue of Ho Chi Minh.
Lawren says
I do happen to have naturally rosy cheeks. They’re really apparent whenever it’s super hot or freezing cold. I personally don’t like it because it makes me look too red (I happen to have red hair) and I’m also not a fan of blush in general because I don’t like the color of my cheeks 🙁
Abigail says
I have naturally rosy cheeks so I’ve never had more than one blush until recently that I’ve gotten into makeup. So, it’s not hard to cover up but I have to be careful and not go overboard.

I was not a happy camper.
