How much of your holiday shopping did you do online this year? I gotta be honest…Amazon Prime sure comes in handy sometimes, if you know what I mean. Yup, I still have a few things left to get, but I’m sure everything will work itself out. Even though Christmas always falls on the 25th every year, it’s like it sneaks up on me every time, LOL! Why is that? I’m always doing something at the last minute.
*sigh*
Here are some things I’ve been loving this holiday season. How about you, sweets? What are some things you’ve been all about?
1. Urban Decay Solstice Moondust Eyeshadow
2. HomeGoods holiday home decor
3. Bath & Body Works Spiced Apple Toddy Candle
4. Tom Ford Winter Soleil Lip Foils
5. MAC Shadescent in Creme d’Nude
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

First of all I love Broad City! Definitely one of my favorites. Second you just reminded me I need a tree skirt! Right now I just threw a ghetto fleece blanket under it but luckily it’s so full of presents you can’t tell!
Things I’ve been loving:
1. My electric heated blanket
2. Lip balm of any kind
3. Chocolate Body Shop Body Butter
4. Sweaters/boots/winter clothes
5. My new countertops!
Karen says
Me too! It’s so creative and hilarious, and I love how the two main characters just don’t give AF! We used an old ratty red table cloth for our tree skirt for years, but I just couldn’t take it anymore, hence the new plaid one. Good luck finding one! I also saw some at Target, but they were on the pricier side.
BTW, yay…COUNTERTOPS!

Love this! I second B&BW candles, my obsession is far too real! I’m currently loving the Salted Vanilla scent – highly recommend 🙂

I don’t think I’ve smelled that one yet! I’ll try it next time I’m there. Did you go to Candle Day this year?
Lulle says
I did most of my shopping online this year, but we did go to the mall with Hubby on Saturday to pick up stocking stuffers for the family – and ended up mostly buying clothes for Hubby, lol! He never goes to the mall, so it was a good opportunity.
5 things I’ve been loving:
– My L’Occitane advent calendar. I have so much fun opening the door to a travel-size product every day! I’m definitely getting more beauty advent calendars next year.
– Cuddling with kitty, he loves to get under the blankets when it’s cold.
– Wines from Washington state. I did a wine tasting tour when I visited Seattle 2 weeks ago, and I was very impressed by some of the wineries. I didn’t expect to like wines from such a cool, rainy region to be honest!
– Candied chestnuts. Everything chestnut.
– The lounge pants that I bought a few weeks ago. They’re sooo sooooft!
I haven’t gone to Home Goods for a while, but I feel like I should go take a look one of these days. I need new cushions, a tablecloth, and a few other things.
Karen says
Your hubby sounds like mine, LOL! El Hub detests shopping for clothes, so much so that I end up buying him shirts, pants, etc. I don’t mind though!

I only have one more book to get for one of my nieces & then I’m done with Christmas other than some grocery shopping. As for my holiday edition of things I love, here goes:
1. The sample of Eros by Versace I received from Sephora. I believe it’s a men’s fragrance but wow! does it smell amazing on me! I haven’t even checked to see how much a bottle costs…
2. Urban Decay’s Midnight Cowboy eyeshadow single I received as a birthday gift from Ulta. It does have some glitter fallout which I don’t mind for a winter look. Since it’s Christmas week, I’m wearing that with black eyeliner and a red lippie also with sparkles. Got compliments right off the bat this morning for the look!
3. The return of the rain. It was really cold and rather dry here in Washington for a couple of weeks and I just don’t like cold weather.
4. I’m grateful for being financially able to send a dear friend a gift card for Safeway. She’s a newly single working mother of three boys and can used a stocked pantry.
5. Balsam pine scented candles and ones that smell like wood fires; all the great scents in the warmth of my house!
I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas weekend!
Karen says
Hi Holly,
Good for you for having almost all of your Christmas errands done! Will you be making Christmas dinner this year?
Holly says
I’m not making Christmas dinner this year, no, but I am contributing to three of the four meals I’m going to this weekend. Friday, I’m celebrating with my siblings & we’re having fresh tamales & I’m in charge of the chips & salsa &guacamole; Saturday is a casual lunch at my grandma’s & I’m bringing cold cuts & cheeses; and finally on Sunday, I’m first going to a friend’s place with homemade mac’n’cheese, then I’ll be headed to my cousin’s for more food. So much deliciousness!
Karen says
That all sounds wonderful. I love a celebratory multi-day feast. 😀 Speaking of mac and cheese, I had the best mac and cheese the other day at a fancy schmancy brunch restaurant. They topped it with truffle oil, and pancetta and it was so good!

I did 75% of my holiday shopping online, and a few bits still need to arrive. But I am sure it will all workk out again, like it does every year.
Karen says
Good for you! I hope it all works out! Happy holidays. 🙂
Kiss & Make-up says
Solstice looks greaaaaat on you! And oooooooooh I wanna smell that candle, sounds so nice!
Karen says
Thanks, Melissa! Happy holidays. 🙂

I love those huge boxes of ornaments! I bought mine from Target in red and gold.
I’ve been loving Lindt peppermint chocolate truffles, Loreena Mckennitt’s “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, ” a Muppet Christmas Carol”, Lush Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb, and L’Oreal Voluminous mascara.
Karen says
Target has some good ones! I looked there too but unfortch they were out of the colors I wanted.
Happy holidays!
Hil says
Oh I love these posts! I’m loving…
1. My B&BW candles- Tis the Season and Flannel are on repeat here
2. My new tea kettle
3. TJ dark chocolate truffle bar- so rich it’s actually hard to eat a lot of
4. The Outlander book series
5. Wrapping gifts- While receiving gifts is not my love language, I lOVE giving them.
Karen says
Thanks, Hil! I don’t think Flannel was at the store last time I was there. I’ll have to give it a sniff. 🙂
Happy holidays to you!

Everyone is raving about those Tom Ford lip foils but I really don’t like metallic/frosty lipsticks. Are they different from the regular metallic/frosts out there? They look so pretty on you!
Katie says
1. Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon
I got a deluxe sample and it’s like the perfume I would have created if I were able to make my ideal, personalized perfume! I’m planning on buying a full bottle before the Sephora 3x points on fragrance ends – which is saying something since I’ve never actually purchased a full sized perfume before! I feel like I’ve found my (fragrance) soul mate.
2. Nip + Fab Glycolic Night Pads Extreme and Ole Henriksen Truth Serum
I don’t use them together since I have sensitive skin, so I use the Ole Henriksen for two nights then the glycolic pads on the third night. I think that since I’ve started using these two products my skin has become the clearest and smoothest it’s ever been, and the serum has really lightened up my acne scars even in just a few weeks! And the Nip + Fab pads are very affordable ($15 for 60) as well as being effective, especially compared to other AHA/BHA/glycolic pads. I swear the pads can clear up acne overnight.
3. Kevyn Aucoin Contour Book II (the one with creams and powders)
I think probably 80% of the makeup looks I’ve done over the past month have been EXCLUSIVELY using this palette (plus a blush and lipstick)! It’s incredible! The creams are silky and blendable, the powders are flawless, and the eyeshadows are gorgeous. This is the one-stop-shop for fair to medium skin. The contour products are pretty pigmented too, so I think it’ll work for a relatively large group of people (it’s his original contour shade – now called Medium). I simply cannot put it down, especially the highlighters, which are more ethereal and glowy than straight up shimmery. It seems to be permanent too, which I’m thankful for! Plus, it’s an unbelievable value with four full-size pans plus four mini-size pans.
4. L’Oreal Elnett Hairspray
The hype is real, guys. I can shellack my head with this, wait for it to dry, brush it out, and it’s like there’s nothing there! I don’t like to use hairspray too much because I don’t like my hair to feel crunchy, but this is great. I even using it after straightening my hair, which is something I’ve never done before. Spray it in, let it dry, brush it out. You’ll get great hold but no one will be able to tell you have hairspray in. I don’t know who sold their soul for this technology, but I’m grateful.
5. Make Up Forever Ultra HD liquid foundation
I will admit I was skeptical, especially since a lot of people said it wasn’t as good as the original (which I never tried because there wasn’t a shade match). I bought it to use at my mom’s wedding in October and I haven’t put it down since! It has great medium coverage and yet somehow has zero texture on my skin. I put it on and just watch it skim over pores and bumps like nothing else. Plus, Y215 is the best fall/winter shade match I’ve ever had in any foundation. My only qualm is that it doesn’t last as long as I’d like before breaking up, but I have pretty ridiculous standards (I’d like something to look fresh for at least 8 hours). It’s actually the only foundation (or tinted moisturizer or BB cream) I’ve brought home for winter break (a whole month)!

So in love with the Crème d’Nude fragrance right now! Unlike some of the other MAC Shadescents, which are really unusual and kind of hard to love (OMG the purple one smells like a girl in a leather jacket with a cigarette in one hand a beer in the other, and trust me, I know what that smells like) but Crème d’Nude is just divine!!
Erin says
1. Trader Joe’s Everything! Especially their seasonal body butters and candles.
2. Atelier Cologne Vanilla Intensee
3. My dogs new-ish glow in the dark whistle ball from Chuck It.
4. Trader Joe’s Quatrro Formaggio potato dish and their Petite Parisian Carrots, they deserved to be mentioned and adored.
5.Trying to embrace the Hygge concept. I was doing well and got derailed by the flu but I’m getting back on the train tonight!
Erin says
I should also give a glorious shout out to Tom Ford Lips and Boys Mitchell, which is probably one of the best lipsticks I’ve ever owned in terms of coloring! It’s perfect my skin tone and overall coloring.
