Today was the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere — the first day of spring — and all I can say about that is WE MADE IT! 🙂
For a second there, it really seemed like this winter was never going to end, like it was the Energizer ? bunny of winters, and was going to keep going, and going and going…
I mean, it rained here again today…but at least the calendar proves that it’s still officially spring! It is!
If it’s currently cold and/or dreary on your end of the keyboard, here are some spring vibes. *sending you spring vibes via the Interwebs* ???? I hope that these 17 spring inspirations help your brain shift gears.
Hang in there, friend. Better weather awaits! ?
1. Christian Lacroix Papier Notebook
You guys, not only is this Christian Lacroix Papier (which is fancy lingo for “paper”) Notebook beyond beautiful (check out the psychedelic hydrangea action on the cover), but it comes with a pair of butterfly-shaped 3D glasses inside…WHICH TAKE YOU TO THE THIRD DIMENSION!
How could anyone say no to that?
2. Paradise Gardens Wall Calendar
I love this style of artwork. It’s just so cheery! It kinda reminds me of Matisse.

7. Follow Your ? Heart
Can I please be the girl in this cute spring dress and sandals (a.k.a. my spring uniform)? Her hair isn’t completely crazy (unlike mine), and she’s SURROUNDED by life-size ?flowers. So, basically, this is all of my spring wishes in illustrated form.
8. Kissing ? Bunnies Card
Kissing bunnies.
Need I say more?

11. Urban Birdwatching Notebook
A lot of the time when I look out my window, I see turkeys. Does that count?
Even if it doesn’t, I’d still write it down in this bird-watching notebook anyway.
12. Vive Le Colour Butterflies Coloring Book
Still waitin’ for the butterflies to show up, but until they do, you could color a few.

Spring means farmers’ markets, yay! ???? I can’t wait to fill my tote bag with fresh fruits and veggies.
Yay, spring! 🙂 I hope you’re starting to feel it wherever you are.
A looooong stretch of time to myself
I went to the salon last Saturday, and it was the first day in about a month when I had a block of a few hours to myself.
To be honest…it was glorious! I love spending my days with the baby, and I know that her being so small and dependent on me isn’t going to last forever, but I do miss being able to go sneak away sometimes by myself.
At the salon, my friend Alis tamed my roots (which were extra rooty, with a side of root). Then I went to my favorite salad place, Blue Barn, and tried a new salad that Alis had recommended, the Argula salad. It had mixed greens, arugula, sun dried tomatoes, marinated artichokes, balsamic onion, almonds, crispy chickpeas, grated manchego, whole grain mustard vinaigrette and pieces of steak.
Mmm…
Seriously, though, it was tastier than it looks.
Let’s see, what else did I do?
After that I just did some window shopping. I went to a workout wear place called Athleta to look at their leggings, because I’m all about that leggings life now. Then I stopped by Urban Outfitters and smelled a whole bunch of perfumes and looked at all of their neat weird stuff.
It was lovely.
Happy spring. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

You know what it’s interesting? The fact that it was one of our warmest winters here.
It’s good to hear you had some time for yourself. So what have you decide about Alis moving to Las Vegas? I have to admit I cross all the city and pay more than I’d do to get my hair done with this guy who really knows how to cut curly hair.

Winter was cold and long here too, but it is feeling like spring for at least ten days now, with flowers and birds and the ability to ditch the warm jacket for a lighter one around the day. I even got into spring cleaning mode last weekend!

So happy it’s spring even though it’s still pretty cold here in North Dakota. Have you ever planted pansies? We had a cat that would go around and eat all the blooms!

We’ve had a really weird, mild winter here in SE Michigan. I’m still happy for spring though.
I love the kissing bunnies but you probably could have guessed that :p

I’m glad you had such a nice day! I’m suspicious that you may have brought the steak part of your salad home for El Hub, though. 😉
It snowed here this AM so all your spring and cheerful retail pics are definitely appreciated! Keep sending those vibes!!

The trees are just starting to bloom here finally!

Awww, kissing bunnies! 🙂
I’m so ready for spring. We’ve had a few glimpses of spring weather the last couple weeks. Today is gray and blah, though.

Ah, there is nothing wrong for taking some “me” time. It is healthy and necessary to do so here and there 🙂 I loved a lot of the items you featured, especially the kitty tote bag.
