12 days of giveaways sponsored by Neutrogena

A Different Makeup and Beauty Blog giveaway each day for 12 days, sponsored by Neutrogena

One of my favorite holiday memories is from a trip El Hub and I took to visit his family on Oahu. It was a couple days after Christmas at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, the largest open-air shopping center in the world. Weather-wise, it was a typical December day in Hawai’i Nei, sunny, about 80 degrees with light trade winds, and the mall was packed!

I remember how lots of the local kids (and some of the adults) were all bundled up for winter. There were kids in hoodies, thick sweaters, ski hats (the kind with the flaps that go over your ears) and some even wearing Uggs.

LOL! I guess wherever you are, even in the tropics, winter will find you.

Heck, it always finds me, as do winter skin trubs. Even with our mild seasonal swings out here in the Bay Area, I still wrestle with winter skin challenges every year, like breakouts, dry skin, flaky skin — the whole shebang.

If your face needs some babying this winter, you’ll definitely want to enter today’s Neutrogena gift basket giveaway. The basket is brimming with products to soothe and repair fussy winter skin.

Yup, it’s day 8 of 12 Days of Giveaways on Makeup and Beauty Blog (NOTE: click here and scroll down the page to enter any other ongoing giveaways). πŸ™‚

Do you prefer colorful or clear/white Christmas lights on your tree? What’s your warmest pair of socks? How often do you wear primer? — you get the idea.

I haven’t gotten a haircut in 3 or 4 years. The last haircut I got was a disaster so I’ve been afraid to trust any hairdresser.

Hello! we moved to vegas 6 months ago, and i told my hairstylist: “i’ll schedule with you every time i come home. i’m not going to anyone else, unless we move super duper far away.” it’s not as often as i’d like, but i’ve been home 3 times since we moved. and each time, i’ve made an appointment with my girl! πŸ™‚

  193. Christine says:

My favorite winter remedy for hands and feet is slathering them with thick creams or just aquaphor/vaseline if I have no other option, and then letting it soak in overnight by sleeping in cotton socks and gloves, which keep the sheets and anything else I touch goop-free

I just had a haircut earlier this month. πŸ™‚

    Hey Karen,
Do you change up your Christmas tree or does it look the same from year to year? We didn’t put up a Christmas tree this year and I’m kinda sad. But hey, plenty of Christmas trees around town so no biggie! πŸ™‚

  198. Jocelyn says:

My last haircut was several months ago and my hair is a bit of a disaster. I really need to make an appointment and get it taken care of before it starts scaring small children.

When my skin is super dry, the best moisturizer is 50/50 mix of olive and coconut oils. It is also great as an eye makeup remover.

  203. Susan says:

Short of dumping a bottle of olive oil on my head, I just can’t get enough moisture in to my skin this time of year. This basket looks amazing–thanks!
