Fun fact: a person can sing the chorus to NSYNC’s Bye Bye Bye — and don’t even play like you don’t know it! — over and over to the name of this new foundation from It Cosmetics for an obnoxious amount of time, annoying both themselves and those around them to no end.
“Bye, bye, bye, bye, bye lines!”
I think that video also had some puppet-like dance moves in it. Oh, the ’90s and its boy bands…
Basically, I think I just found your, and by “your,” I mean my, new favorite foundation. 🙂
It’s a flexible, full-coverage skin-smoothing liquid foundation with a luminous finish, and it just came out for fall. A 1-oz. plastic bottle is $38 and has a pump, which is a little touchy. I somehow always squeeze out a little more than I need when I put it on the back of my hand (I have to mix two shades to get a perfect match for me).
That’s kind of annoying, but other than that little design flaw, and the fact that none of the shades is a perfect match for me, I think the foundation itself is almost perfect.
It smooths away pores while deftly dodging my fine lines, and no matter how many layers I use — seriously, you could go full-on “cake face” if you want to — it doesn’t look streaky or heavy. And it doesn’t feel heavy either. You can also sheer it out if you want to. Either way, it looks natural, with or without setting powder. Basically, it’s pure awesomeness in a 1-oz. bottle.
This is a great foundation for my fellow over-30 ladies and gents who want a comfortable, long-wearing foundation with a slightly dewy finish and flexible coverage from sheer to full. Great for evening out your skin tone, covering pimples and sun spots, and just generally all the kinds of awesomeness you want from a foundation.
I hope It Cosmetics adds more shades, because there are only seven available, and if you have yellow undertones like I do, they skew a little peachy.
You can work with it, though. I’m somewhere between Tan and Rich, and I mix the two. I know that many people won’t do that, but I often do. If, for example, you would ever buy a lighter shade for winter and a darker shade for summer, maybe this is something you would also do.
I’m all about how luminous, lightweight and long-wearing this is. I love it! If you’re into L’Oréal True Match Lumi or MAC Face and Body, I think you’ll love it, too.
Actually, it really reminds me of MAC Face and Body, except that it’s A LOT easier to apply.
One of these days when you find yourself at Ulta, grab a sample of Bye Bye Lines ’cause it’s awesome.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I’ve never used any of IT Cosmetics products, but always hear great things about the CC Cream. I recently went to the local Ulta store to browse and saw that they expanded the NARS collection their. I picked up the blush Deep Throat (I really wished they would think about the names of their products). I am working on increasing my points and will have to check out the IT line. Is is good for over 55, uber-dry skin?
Be well!

Hi Jane,
I gotta say Ulta has a really great rewards system. So much better compared to the paltry tidbits that Sephora offers to their VIBs. Anyway, yes, this foundation would be amazing for 55+ skin that’s on the dry side. BTW I know you just bought a blush (NARS Deep Throat is a good one) but FYI It Cosmetics makes amazing blushes!

Oh man, even without foundation, your skin looks so beautiful! Mine is a mess right now because the Too Faced Hangover Primer and Setting Spray gave me a weird rash a few weeks ago and I’m still trying to get things back to normal.

Hi Chelsea,
Ahh, I feel your pain girl! I’ve had bad reactions to things that take weeks to clear up. Hang in there. Are you still wearing makeup while your skin is healing?
Chelsea says
I’ve been just mixing in a little foundation with my daily sunscreen.
Karen says
Smart! Keepin’ it easy and casual. I might do that with this foundation today, hmm…

I love IT’s CC Cream. It’s all I use in the winter. I didn’t know about this little gem, though. I may just have to try it on my 46 year old skin!

I looooove Mac Face and Body! It’s my HG. Partially because of the great shade selection though, it matches me perfectly all year round. Will check this out but if shades lean peachy then mmmm. When Bye bye bye was out I was a teen or something! Loved Justin back then!!

I’ve heard so much about It Cosmetics and would really like to try some of their products. I currently only have one of their eyeshadow palettes but would really like to try the infamous CC cream and also this foundation!

I feel obligated to point out that, without your arrows and notes about bare skin vs product, I would not have been able to tell the difference. Your skin looks great with no help at all! 🙂
And, PS, that is by far my fave boy band song. I sometimes pester one of my friends until she does the Sprinkler to it. Good times! HAHA!

I love ITs CC cream and pores no more pressed powder. A real WOW factor to my over 40 skin. Made a note to check out this new foundation. Trying to figure out which shade to try. The light looked a little too light for my skin tone.

I was so eager to pick this foundation up during the Ulta coupon event earlier this month. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the product in the store, and I have a very hard time getting a good color match with IT foundations and other face products. I see that you had to mix two shades. I’ve been doing that with IT CC Creme but truth be told, it’s too expensive to keep doing that. The lighter end of the shade range looks lighter than usual and less yellow than usual so I’m hoping I’ll be able to find one shade that does the trick. I’ll wait for Ulta’s next coupon event in the winter or IT’s sales.

I really like the finish Karen, pretty much exactly what I need for my dry/combo skin now that I’m in my late 30’s!
