**BEEP** **BEEP** **BEEP**
We interrupt this blog post to bring you this very important announcement: Hourglass Veil Retouching Fluid is NOT a full-on concealer. It may look like one, but it’s not. If you apply it by itself on top of dark circles, those bad boys won’t disappear. They’ll be like, “What’s up, lady? HOW YOU DOIN’?” ?
Hourglass Veil Retouching Fluid ($32)
But, if you apply it on top of another concealer you already happen to be wearing — in other words, you retouch — you should see a slight difference…
“Meet your concealer’s new best friend. Veil Retouching Fluid is a multitasking complexion enhancer that you won’t want to leave your house without. This weightless, oil-free fluid adds just the right amount of brightness, coverage, and hydration that your skin needs during the day. It’s like your morning cup of coffee, your 3pm piece of chocolate, and your post-workout glow all rolled into one.”
When I dab and blend it on top of Make Up For Ever Ultra HD, which has been my under-eye concealer du jour lately, and by “lately,” I mean the past couple years, my dark circles look a little brighter.
Bonus: it doesn’t get cake-y or break up the concealer, either.
It would be pretty innovative if you didn’t know about Trish McEvoy’s Instant Eye Lift, which has been around a hot minute.
The shade I have, a warm golden tan with peachy undertones, is called Sand, but it’s available in six total shades — Vanilla (for fair to very fair skin tones), Fair (fair to light), Natural (light to light medium), Sand (light medium to medium), Honey (medium to medium deep) and Almond (medium deep to deep).
I mean, it’s not the most effective product in the world, because it really doesn’t seem to do all that much. My concealer still fades throughout the day, but if I add this after a few hours, it buys me a little more time… Maybe an extra hour.
I’ll keep it in my purse until it runs out, or I get bored, because yeah…kinda fun, but I don’t see it becoming a must-have staple.
❤️❤️ 2 out of 5 hearts.
Did you know? If your concealer moves around on you, and it drives you crazy, set it with NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder in Translucent Crystal to keep it where it belongs.

Yeah I tried this at Sephora in Vanilla and while I liked the shade , I was underwhelmed.
Karen says
Yeah. It looks beautiful on skin but it’s not really all that magical.

To be honest, I am finding that the more product I use under and around my eye area, the worse it gets. I have accepted that I have some shadowing with dry and sometimes some puffiness. Nothing seems to stay on long enough to cover it up. I have been alternating with Nars Radiant Concealer in Honey or Bobbi Brown corrector in Peach Bisque, which ever is easier to purchase. Sometimes, I just put a light touch of my foundation over it.
That is all for today!

Me too! I try to get away with as little as possible underneath my eyes, otherwise the makeup looks cakey and thick and obvious. Thank goodness for the formulas that don’t look heavy, which reminds me… It’s been forever since I’ve used YSL Touche Eclat. Gonna grab some next time I go to Sephora.
Happy Friday! What are you guys up to this weekend?

Dark eye circles are the new sexy.
Karen says
YES! They’re perfect with wild bedhead hair. 🙂
Happy Friday!

I practice the full dark circle banish routine, with corrector, then concealer, then brightener, I don´t think I´ll add another product to that or I´ll go mad!

It sounds like Photo Op, which I used a bit a few years ago. I’m not into concealer, though I could probably benefit. I feel like it draws attention more than anything else. I do occasionally use a NARS color corrector if things are looking really bad. 🙂

I’ve recently been using the Lancôme concealer and it’s the best I’ve found so far.

Thanks for the review! ?
