Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon sure keeps her stylists on their toes, doesn’t she? Here are some of the cuts she’s worn over the past few years. No. 5 (in the middle) is from Four Christmases, the movie she’s in with Vince Vaughn.
Popular Winter Hairstyles
Bangs: To brighten a winter pallor, try sideswept or full bangs. It’ll frame the face and draw attention to your eyes.
Bobs: Need a quick, low-maintenance cut this winter? Consider a short bob with heavily tapered tips for a edgy look, or a deliberately messy bob for a sexy look.
Long Hair: Long hair looks great over bulky winter outfits and under hats. Consider hair extensions if you’re already sporting shorter hair.
Shags: Another classic short hairstyle, the shag can vary in length, layers and texture. Try adding lowlights for depth and dimension.
Volume: To balance layers of bulky winter wear, add volume to hair with root boost sprays and volumizing shampoos.
Razors: The messy texture of razor hair cuts gives an edgy look to holiday styles.
I’m thinking about changing my cut to either a shag or a bob for winter…

Karen

I love Reese. She’s so beautiful, but in a totally natural way. I don’t look at her and think, “Man…I wonder what she’s had done!”
And as a fellow blonde, I like it when we’ve got smart, strong women representing us in the media. Especially ones with killer hair!
#1 and #9 are my faves. <3

Hi P. Potter,
I love her, too. Did you see her on the cover of last month’s Vogue? She looked spectacular.
I just watched a movie with her from waaaay back when called Man in the Moon. She was a baby in it… not more than 13 or 14!
Katee says
I went with #1 but really she looks stunning no matter what

I think a long bob angled to the front would look great on you. But I like your pretty long hair too!

No 1 and blonde is nice.. i dont like waves on her!
Vampy Varnish says
I went with number 1 but I LOVE her as a brunette also, she’s stunning. Bob’s are fantastic. I am growing mine out after having it for about two years, but every time I see someone with one, I want to hack it off again! 😉

I love them all, I love Reese! I want to name my daughter Reese, still warming my boyfriend up to that idea. She and my Jakey poo make the perfect couple.
Arianne says
I love #1 and #5. Long, straight with bangs work well with her face shape I think.
And is it me, or did Reese get like 10x hotter in the past couple years?
Karen B says
I voted for number 2 for the cut, but it was very close with number 5 (love her lipstick in that shot too).
I love Reese 🙂 She’s so nice and pretty.

Whatever haircut she has, Reese is as cute as a button! GO Reese!
Jaime says
I adore Reese. She’s so classy! Thanks for all the pics! I just got my hair cut into a mix of a “pob” (vic beckham’s angled bob) and Gwyneth’s new angeled shoulder length cut. I’m loving it! It’s so low maintenance in the winter – no hair to get stuck under the neck of your coat, and then get all staticky, etc. But it’s still long enough I can do a cute ponytail to exercise in.
Brittany says
I prefer her with shorter hair. Although, it looks cute in all these pics!
I’ve been contemplating chopping my hair off lately into a long bob. I’m not sure how well I can pull it off though.
Megan says
I think Reese can really pull of anything…seriously!
p.s. my favorite movie when I was 11…was my first encounter with Ms. Witherspoon. I thought she was wonderful, and I used to watch it over and over and I would cry every time. Here’s a pic of her back then…and yeah she can even pull of the no makeup, pony tail 13 year old look

Sylvie says
I wouldn’t cut my hair for anything in winter. Need it to cover my ears! Granted there’s something called the HAT but my ears would be warmer with my hair AND my hat. And besides, I don’t wear a hat unless I want to pretend to be chic =P
Jen says
Do it Do it!
Cutting your hair is liberating LOL! (It is for me!)
gio says
She looks gorgeous no matter what, although I prefer her with shorter hair.
Amanda says
I had a hard time deciding! None of them are bad-she honestly looks good in all those photos. I went with #6, but the other top choices were 2, 3, 5 and 9.
Kimberly says
Hands down #1.
Music_Is_Freedom says
Definitely #6. It’s so contemporary and has a bit of rocker chic to it. And if you’re trying to decide between a shag ands a bob, I’d go with the bobbed cut. It’s easy to work with and can be customized to flatter anyone. I wore my hair in a bobbed cut for several years, so I’m a bit biased towards it.
jojoba says
i voted #4 and it was the bottom of the result! HAHAHAHAHA i am so not into fashion of hair!!!

Hi Katee,
I agree!
Karen says
Hi Amy,
Yeah, I did a bob last year! I liked it a lot, but I grew out my hair just because it was something to do, LOL. I might do it again. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Marisol,
Aww, no love for her brunette look? I love her with dark hair!
Karen says
Hi Tali,
I like her with curls more than with waves!
Karen says
Hi Vampy Varnish,
YAH! I like her with dark hair, too.
I love your bob! Is your hair longer than the pic on your front page?
Karen says
Hi Tatiana,
Seriously… I might have to steal Jakey Poo away from you. He’s too cute for words!
I’ve been in love with him since Donnie Darko. LE SIGH.
Karen says
Hi Karen B.,
I agree! She seems like she’d be a cool person to have as a friend.
I also like how she handled her breakup with Ryan… she’s very classy.

Hi Dao,
So true. TEAM REESE!

Hi Jaime,
Your new cut sounds really cute. I have to be able to pull my hair back when I exercise, too, so I will have to look into that.
What products do you use to style it? Do you need a lot?
Karen says
Hi Brittany,
I think you should go for it! And hey, if you absolutely hate it then hair always grows back.
But hey, I grow my hair out just to give me something to do, so I dunno if you should listen to me, LOL.
Karen says
Hi Megan,
I love that pic! Her expression is priceless!
Did you know that the boy who played Court in that movie has a twin?
Karen says
Hi Sylvie,
Yeah, I hear you. That’s one thing that’s holding me back.
Karen says
Hi Jen,
LOL! I just might. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Gio,
She can definitely rock the bob, that’s for sure!
Karen says
Hi Amanda,
I agree. The woman cannot take a bad picture (so not fair).
Fie says
Honestly, I feel she looks good in ALL of them. 😀 I love her style so much because she’s so versatile.
Miss QQ says
Hi Karen. Have you decided to go with short hair? Can’t wait to see your new hairstyle! Reese Witherspoon seems to have to face where she looks good in all sorts of hairstyle, and I have a friend like that too. How lucky they are. I’m thinking of doing no. 3 next year, but I have slight wavy hair, so it will be a messy bob.
Karen B says
Exactly. No fighting, good arrangements for the kids, no splashing out in the tabloids. Very classy.

I don’t follow celebrities – except for Reese Witherspoon! I love all her haircuts and I think she is so classic and collected – exactly the kind of style and image I would like to portray. I like all the cuts and can’t pick a favorite!
Cindy says
does anyone have a bigger picture of #5? I really want that hair style!
Kate says
I love Reese! I had a hard time deciding between #1 and #5. I picked number 5 because she just looks stunning with the orange lips.
Cindy, here’s two that I’ve found: http://www.aceshowbiz.com/images/news/00020264.jpg

The cut is from her new movie, Four Christmases.
Vampy Varnish says
Hi Karen – Thanks! Yes it’s a tad longer now (maybe 1-2 inches). I just got back form The Paul Mitchell Hair School in Pleasant Hill, which I wanted to try because of their incredibly cheap prices but I’m not too thrilled…I just got a trim which was fine, but I wanted more “edgy”dark lowlights to play off my blonde highlights, but they turned out very “natural” looking which wasn’t what I was going for. Oh well, you get what you pay for! 😉
